I asked for them to look at the fan belt when I booked in. I had to wait 2 weeks cause they were busy, but when I took it in, they remembered. It didn't need replacing, but they gave me prices for a new fan belt for when it did so I knew what Expense I'd have to make later down the track. Really impressed! Also very friendly and efficient service. Only thing I'd say is I'd like them to call before any extra expenses were made on my car - they were minor (only an extra $50), but would've been great so I wasn't stressing about it during the day.

Extremely overpriced service and poor communication…read more After hearing great things about Scott Baird Automotive from family and friends, I was extremely disappointed with the two car Services I received this year. For the first service (my partners car), I asked that if there were any issues with the car, these would be quoted before they proceeded with remedying them. I was contacted later by Scott who said there were issues, and made it seem like he had already remedied them but did not discuss any pricing or cost of this, so I assumed they were minor. When I arrived to pick up my car, I was charged far more than what was inferred as the 'genuine' parts ordered were purchased directly from the manufacturer. Apparently this brief phone call was confirmation of my agreement to proceed with remedying these significant issues, when it was vague and communicated poorly. I decided to give Scott Baird Automotive a second chance for my car given the good things I had heard about them (big mistake). On this occassion I only received a standard car service (Oil and Filter Change + minor works and ensuring car was up to spec) and was charged $250 labour for 2 hours work, $400 all up. Furthermore, they will only install 'genuine' parts that are ordered directly from the manufacturer (in my case Honda) who charge excessive rates for their parts, so you're better off going straight to your car manufacturer for your service if you are going to pay a premium anyway. Only reason for 2 stars is for the work they carried out was up to a high standard and Scott came across as genuine, but their labour and service costs are extremely overpriced and poor value for money.

I have had all problems associated with my car over the years fixed, without any recurring issues. My car often ends up cleaner than it was after the service. I am consulted before any repairs are made and effort is made to source the best value parts. Loan cars are available with all staff at the business very friendly and keen to help. I have had problems fixed by just turning up and they immediately have helped and solve the issue without cost. The worst car repair workshop I have ever been. I called them to book a full car service and WOF. On the phone, I told them the lights for my handbrake and ABS brake were on occasionally and asked them to check. They said it might be difficult to determine as the lights are not on all the time. After I dropped off my car, they called me and said they found the problem. The ABS pump needs to replace. A second hand costs $500. I told them I would think about it but they said then they won't give me the new WOF unless it is fixed. OK, then I paid $500 to replace with a second-hand ABS pump. After three days, the lights are on again, nothing has been fixed. I brought my car back and left there for a whole day for them to fix. When I picked it up, they told me it was because of the faulty second-hand pump. Now it has been fixed and they have tested drive for a long distance to make sure no issues. When I looked at my petrol, 1/4 tank of my petrol was gone. Then after two or three days, the lights are on again. They have never been fixed after I paid them $500.

They seem to genuinely care about you and returning your car in great condition. They clean the inside and spray the tyres to make them shine as part of their services. What I don't like is how picky they are with the WOF, and it always seems to cost quite a bit to get things fixed. Still, I return because they know Nissans extremely well, and I can count on a great service each time.

I heard them refer to 'a few small fixes' and ' a small sum' when the end result was over $1200 for one car & 1700 for the next. That's only a small sum if you're Paris Hilton! They also thought it would be good to hound me about going in for a service, calling a few times a year. Once a year is helpful, but every 2 months is totally inappropriate. AA is meant to be a trusted franchise, and this place is not living up to the name at all. Beware!
