Update: Decided to give this location another shot. I had to rent a couple of trucks the past month because we got a new couch, had to later donate our old couch, and then for moving into a new apartment. Each time I came to rent a vehicle I was greeted with very friendly staff who helped me chose the best options for me. I'm glad I gave this location another chance, because I am very pleased. I am changing my 1 star review to a 4 star because I believe they have really improved. Original 1 star review: I went to this location to rent a truck for moving. I have never rented a truck, and do not know much about renting vehicles. The person behind the counter was very rude. As I was trying to read the paperwork, he got very impatient and told me "all you need to do is click ok". When it came to the insurance, I was trying to decide what option would be best. He didn't give me time to read each one, when he started to ask other people they can help me because "it's not that hard to choose an option". The whole time I was being helped, I felt like incapable of making any decisions. He was also rude with other workers there. There was even some curse words exchanged. Very unprofessional. When I returned the truck the next day, I went to someone else who can help me. She was very rude as well. While I was asking her about the paper, the rudely replied "that's why you read the highlighted parts". They also charged me for 30 miles, even though I used 10.5. When I asked them about it, they would not give me a straight answer, and continued to treat me rudely. I was very disappointed, and will not be visiting this location again. I reserved a 15-foot U-Haul truck from the Beaverton location to take it to Salem, and I chose a drop-off spot close to my sister's house. On November 28, I received an email from someone who looked like the manager saying they didn't have the 15-foot truck I reserved. They told me I had to go to the Tigard location to pick up a truck instead. They said I would get a $20 discount and 50 extra miles, but these changes were made for their benefit, not mine. When I drove by the Beaverton location that same morning on my way to Tigard, I saw plenty of trucks sitting on the lot. So I don't understand why they couldn't give me one of those. It felt like they just wanted me to move their truck to Salem for them. They also changed my drop-off location without asking. Instead of dropping the truck near my sister's home, I had to go 12 minutes farther away. When I dropped the truck off and tried explaining what happened, the employee didn't care at all. She took the receipt and told me someone would contact me. Nobody ever did. They clearly don't care about customer service. Let me start by saying I had a reservation, and just needed to pickup keys. The employee at the desk inside was SO rude. And wasted our time. When I could finally say WHAT is taking so long I did ALL of this on the app...he said oh you just need keys?? Yes. Been trying to say that bruh. Totally wasted my time and he was so rude. If I could give 0 stars I would. But Kerry, the GM, I believe that was his name; he is the only reason for one star. Because he actually cared enough about a customer and feedback to apologize for his employee being EXTREMELY rude to me. He took the time to listen to why I was displeased and apologize. That is service. I ended up calling him again that night when we returned the vehicle because there was no where to park it. I couldn't believe other people just left trucks hanging out of the parking lot in the street. People need a clue. He said that it always happens because they don't have enough space or parking. I felt for him as it seems like he's likely had to field MANY complaints like this (parking,) and he seemed exasperated by it but he was very kind and very professional. Absolutely garbage service! I rented a truck years ago! I returned it at 5:02 when I told them I'd be there at 5pm. I asked the guy there if I owed anything and he said no. You are all good with smiles. Well 2 years later I go to rent a truck again and I was denied due to a hold. Keep in mind, I signed up the day before, and I did the entire check in and gave my debit card online after signing in!!!. They said we are good to go. With several movers I am paying $150 an hour for, I got to haul the next morning and they deny me rental due to an issue. They refused to tell me what for and rudely pushed me outa line and I was told to call customer service, 25 mins later I'm still on hold!!!! I download the app while on hold and finally talk to someone in the chat department at U-Haul. I explain the situation and she apologizes. And says you are good to go. I demanded to know why they just wasted an hour of my time due for nothing and that I'm paying $150 an hour to movers and having a dozen family members waiting for me. They said the manager put my account on hold due to me being 2 mins late on the previous rental!!!! I asked him if I owed!!!!!! They then tomd me after 30+ minutes of being on hold and bs that I didn't owe anything and I'm good to go... the manager that put a hold on my account and not tried calling, emailing or texting me not even once but somehow their company constantly does,!??? It is absolutely so ridiculous and unacceptable. So now an hour after arriving, I finally get to rent. Well who the Hell is paying for the $150 to the movers??? This location is absolutely garbage and I will never ever rent from U-Haul Beaverton again. You do something good for a customer. They'll tell one person. Customer service & maintenance is lacking. When we needed to get something from our unit, we found that it had been backed up into. When talking to the in-person customer service, she called the maintenance guy and pretty much said she noticed the damage a month ago but didn't remember if she put in a work order or not. She said the maintenance guy can come in a couple of hours which we do not have time for. We also do not have any record of them informing us of the damage. They just raised the rent a few months back. The email stated that they do daily maintenance checks, which now I highly doubt. Within the past two years, we also had a break in and stuff was stolen but they did not alert us at all. They only decided to fix the issue after we called the police to file a report. read more

I would avoid any U-Haul store that is run under Michael Poppe. We had two problems with two different trucks on the same day and he wouldn't do anything for us with respect to a credit or discount for our wasted time and frustration. I can see why this store has such low ratings. The woman that helped us was nothing but polite and professional showing a ton of empathy. When we asked her if we could get a discount for our problems, she quickly called Michael (the GM) to see about our request. He said no. So, they should make her the GM instead of him since he doesn't have a clue on how to run a store in our opinion. Get this, the store even knew they were having issues with the first truck. They probably even knew about the second truck and its issue as well and just don't care. Well, we will definitely take our business elsewhere in the future. Man on duty (9/5/25) said it was "too difficult" and he wouldn't install (their) hitch on my rig. Too difficult to install? I went to pick up a car dolly from the TV highway location, I was told by the gentleman at the desk to go park under the awning, when I get outside, I'm waiting in line and one of the employees a younger gentleman yelled at me to go park my truck I informed him that I was picking up a dolly and had my paperwork and again he yelled at me to go park my truck. If you've used U-Haul in your life, you should know it'll be crummy service and you have to be very careful to document every bit of damage on pickup. Specific to this location the majority of the staff is not very good, will ignore you/each other, etc. Most recently I showed up with a trailer reservation for " in town - 1 day". They had a trailer available, but claimed they had to charge me double the amount of my reservation since it was tagged in their system for one way moves. Then they started the song and dance about reservations aren't guaranteed, etc. all while the equipment I had reserved was sitting in the lot - they just wanted double $$ for it. They made me call corporate, who tried calling the branch but since they never answer the phone (counter guy went to the bathroom for 20+ minutes while I was on the phone trying to sort stuff out) I had to try to find someone. Eventually Corporate got in touch with someone who miraculously figured out how to rent me a trailer for the reservation price. I'm sure the folks here are a nice family, but when you need any sort of customer service, you most likely won't get it here. 2 stars because I eventually got a trailer and the experience gave me a chance to work on my stress management techniques. read more

Strongly suggest avoiding this location - there are plenty of others in town where you will be treated professionally and courteously. If you do enjoy being treated terribly, sold equipment you don't need and/or does not fit your vehicle (and then not allowed to return), being told to leave after you've paid for your trailer because they couldn't get their equipment to work, then having your reservation cancelled on you (without notice or warning) while you drive home to solve the problem, and being told when you return that you have to start over with a new reservation, then this is the place for you! If you'd prefer to avoid this nightmarish experience posing as a business, then I highly suggest the Tigard location, where not only will they treat you well, but will go the extra mile to make up for the horribleness of the Beaverton location. Read the reviews below and stay far, far away. You may think it is conveniently located, but it will cost you more in the long run. Oh, and by no means should you EVER try to park on the lot! The truck reserved was not on the lot. After I spent 15 minutes looking for it, I asked the attendant to help find it...we both walked the lot and no truck. He goes away and 10-15 minutes later returns with the truck. I ask him, I just got a text from U-Haul, do I need to do anything with that of are we good to go. His response, "not necessary, you are good to go". I left...get to Seattle where I was dropping off and the attendant there says, you went over your mileage allotment of 216 miles and you owe us another $31. I said, that is impossible, the google maps Mileage is showing 189 miles, no chance it was that far off. I told him what had happened in Beaverton at pickup and he said, well for starters, you never should have been given this truck as it is marked as one that should only be used in the local area within 50 miles. He also shared that the truck was one marked as "Transfer Equipment", which meant it was to be taken to be repaired or serviced. I am now thinking a lawsuit for negligence is the next course of action, but I filled a grievance only to be called back 3 days later by a manager who essentially said their regional management instructed them to give me a truck that was not to be driven more than 50 miles. As for the discrepancy on the mileage, she mascot very clear that by not completing the online check (the one his colleague said was not needed) there is nothing he could do but to charge me for the excess miles as I had a contract with them. This is the last time I am using U-Haul as clearly there is a lack of integrity and disregard for the safety of their clients. I highly recommend anyone reading this review stay clear of this location for sure and consider working with their competitors (Penske is a much more reliable and service friendly operation). read more

Swung into the parking lot and had to park in a truck space because there were no spaces in front of the store and I was just there to get propane so expected to move shortly. My adult son was with the truck and I went in to the store to see about propane. Suddenly I saw one of the employees rush out and start SCREAMING at my son and when my son tried to explain just kept yelling at him. I had seen what happened from the store so I walked out and explained I was just there for propane and he screamed "We don't have any propane. I put a sign!" I told the guy he didn't have to be such a **** and quickly got into my truck. As we carefully made our way out of the parking lot, I saw the "sign" -- an 8 1/2" X 11" sheet of paper in maybe 1/2 inch high font taped to the FRONT of the propane pump--which is not visible coming in, as it's recessed and you'd have to park straight across from it within 8-10 feet to read it. I was parked facing toward the storefront. I don't know who the guy was who was screaming about where I was parked but he was absolutely horrible. NEVER USING THIS BUSINESS AGAIN. read more

This could have been a 4-star review, but the take off and landing are the most important part of any flight. Both were pretty rocky. Made an appointment to get a Class III hitch installed. Turns out where the vehicle is received isn't actually the U-Haul Storage of Beaverton we have periodically visited for many years. It's down the driveway at the back. It would have been good to understand that before waiting in line to give my keys at the wrong place. Was notified the installation was done at 4pm. While closing time was posted as 7pm, I was told during that call that they were going to close at 5 instead that day. That is annoying. So my spouse had to drop everything and leave work early to take me to pick up the rig. We were there by 4:35. Doors locked and no one answering the phone. Ahhhh! They didn't offer any instructions on what to do if they closed during the call. I assured them I would be there before 5. So had to walk up to the main office to figure out what to do as my spouse needed to return back to work after dropping me off. "Expected wait time" calling U-Haul was 15 minutes. Again standing in the main building line, 5 deep, understaffed, and everyone complaining for their own reason. Finally got my keys. Walked all the way back to where my car was parked by itself. AND it turns out they decided to leave the vehicle unlocked and unattended adjacent to a public road. I got the hitch, but this experience really just seems like a miss (for me and others). read more

I own I moving company and because I'm black he thought I was going to steal the truck and refused to let me pay via cash app card as my wallet got stolen . Mind you I have used my cash app card every time I rented a truck here but this racist prejudice thought he was "cool" denying me a truck in front of everyone to try to embarrass me and ridicule me . The only reason I did not argue back with him was because we were late to a job . Our client has a major disability and needed to be out today . A non profit company hires our company to complete these moves . This racist prejudice almost cost this customer more trauma and pain BECAUSE HE HATES BLACK MEN ! I had an absolutely terrible experience at this Uhaul location. Bob, the person I worked with, created every issue that has popped up for me since. I was moving from Beaverton to Vancouver. Bob suggested that if I drop the vehicle off (instead of doing the one way trip I had planned) I would save a decent amount, and would help out the store. I agreed, and planned on bringing the truck back to the location. When bringing the vehicle back, I was surprised to see that the app was prompting me to drop off in Tualatin (Lake Oswego). This was NOT what was agreed upon, so I assumed this was a small error that will be resolved in the morning. Truck was parked nicely, legally, and was filled up with $15 in gas, putting it past the 1/2 tank mark. Boy was I wrong. Bob called me this morning to say that I have till 2pm to move the car to Lake Oswego, and he double downed on his mistake. I am under the impression he chose the wrong location, or even did it on purpose to charge me more. I explained to him that this was never the option, and that he had lied to me. It is unrealistic that I would want to drop the car off in Lake Oswego, when that is very far off from my route. I have escalated this further with customer service, but it never should have had to go this far. Bob, do better. Do better for your customers, if you make a mistake, own up to it and swallow your pride. I hope that he will conduct business more properly in the future, or never be seen at this location again. Horrifically rude staff, for our first time using u haul they were very unhelpful and informative. They seem lazy and like they don't even care. They just expect everyone to know what to do especially upon returning the truck to this location, they did not tell us what to do and when we asked he was extremely rude yelling "roll the windows down and leave the keys in the ignition". They guy was so lazy he couldn't even walk up to us and properly talk to us so he was basically yelling at us which came off as rude. i rented a pickup truck today and i was treated with horrible customer experience from Jacob Johnson the store manager. The fuel on truck given to me was not accurate but that wasn't the main issue. The person incharge repeatedly yelled at me while i was dropping off the truck. I will never ever do business with uhaul at this location. They do not know how to talk to a customers. I rented a vehicle 5/8/21 and returned it the same day. Now they are claiming the I never returned the vehicle. I don't know what happened but they can review their security tapes and verify that I did drop it off. EDIT: So I'm on my way to set them straight and I get an email that they found the vehicle and also provided me a final bill. Of course they charged me for the time the vehicle was "missing". How convenient. You are physically unable to call the location that you made the reservation at so you must either go in or call corporate. I went in and they ended correcting the bill. If you're ever in need of a trailer, this is the place to go. We recently purchased a home and reserved their open trailer to help with our move. As soon as we got to the store, we were greeted and told someone would be right with us. Charles Lee is who helped us at the counter and his customer service was top notch! He was quick and multi-tasked like I haven't seen before. We appreciated his enthusiasm and professionalism. Today it is difficult to find great customer service and because of Charles Lee, we will recommend this location time and time again and we will definitely return. Ever since the remodel, this place customer service has gone way down! I come by every two weeks to pick up at least three bundles of small boxes for my business. I see a car parked upfront buy buying boxes like I was going todo. I parked my car and had some guy come and tell me you can't park here you can park here park on the side of the business. I tell him I'm just buying three bundles of small boxes they're heavy. It only takes me 5 mins. He didn't want to hear and told me I need to move my car or I would be refused service. I got back in my car, turned it on and drove out of the business. I didn't want my money that's fine I would just easily travel 15 minutes to Hillsboro because they're U-Haul will definitely let me park in front of their business to grab all the boxes I need. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. Another chapter to our incredibly BAD hitch and wiring harness installation. Only good thing is this is the last chapter. We will NEVER return to this location. The final straw is our tail light was broken. We cannot prove they did it, but it was fine before we took it to them and after 3 attempts to get things right on our install it was not. Manager said he would pull tapes and look, then call us. 24 hours later no call, so I called them. He said he talked to the techs and the light was never removed. Case closed. He didn't apologize for the repeated trips, the ineptness of the install, the lack of follow up on their part.....NOTHING. I would NEVER recommend this place....they wouldn't know good customer service if it sat down in front of them and served them tea. read more

This has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Our UHaul had a padlock on it which was not disclosed to us or discovered until we reached our destination, rendering the truck useless. When we called about it, the man who answered was extremely rude and hung up on us. Before he hung up, he told us we had to drive to him instead of him coming to us to have the lock taken off. When we got there, we discovered this wasn't a random padlock that had been put on the vehicle without the knowledge of the store, but was a Uhaul owned padlock. We asked for a refund and were denied it, but he did say that he would not charge for mileage or gas since we had to drive back. However, when I got the receipt emailed to me later in the day, it showed we were charged for gas and mileage, which was a huge fee given that we had to drive back and forth an extra time due to UHaul's error, which not only increased our charge but wasted our time. The man we spoke with said he was the Assistant Manager but he was horrible to us. I have never been treated this way in my life. He went out of his way to make us feel like we were in the wrong and a burden for bringing this problem to him. We came back to the location to speak with a manager and the same man was rude to us again, interrupting several times and speaking over us. We received a follow up email from the manager this morning who still only offered a partial refund, despite the fact that their error cost us over $100 due to the extra time we had to have movers. They give me the storage that has broken lock they fixed 2 days before check out so always worry because the first week was open and everytime I have to take my belongings out they have block with a u- Haul truck and l have to wait long time until moving that truck. Being called a DICK for wanting the full alloted time that I PAID FOR is highly unprofessional to say the least! So I called and made reservations to pick up a trailer from this fine establishment. They said they had to have a solid time for pick up. As they didn't have a way to give me a window of time for pick up, but if it changed just give them a call and it could be easily changed! GREAT RIGHT! Well upon doing this the lady told me I had to return the trailer early because they double booked it. I promptly told her No! I paid for this trailer and I will take my full time I paid for! She thought she hung up the phone and proceeded to tell a co worker I was a Dick! When I called to complain and report this the first time nothing g was noted or done. I called a few days later and no one know anything. But finally a report was made. They sent me a $30 credit! I'm sad to say I will not be frequenting this business. We set an appointment through the website. To have a brake assist installed on our vehicle. This appointment was changed without notifying me. The did have an incorrect phone number in their file although I received a text confirmation of the appointment? I drove an hour through traffic to have the brake assist installed. The appointment was changed without my involvement. I drove an hour back (not fun). Additionally they denied my vehicle could tow what it's rated for. They did not look at my specific vehicle, but the general base model. Additionally I was unfortunately treated very badly, leaving with a sense of chauvinism I rarely encounter. I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a retailer. Antonio, the general manager, was friendly and helpful. Alex and 2 of the other employees that I had the pleasure of encountering, were utterly unhelpful and head an attitude with me from the very start... Like my dog shit in their yard is something. My wiring harness wasn't working, so Antonio sent me to his guys who were supposed to help. Alex upon 2 seconds of looking said, "We can't help you. I suggest you get a refund." Moving is stressful enough and now he's telling me they can't do anything for me. So I go back to Antonio, who actually takes the time to look at the harness and help. What does he say? Totally fixable! He sends me back to their hitch shop to talk to.. Clive (I think was his name). "He'll fix you up. Give em about an hour." I thank Antonio and head back. At this point, I just figure that Alex is having a shitty day and decided to take it out on me. Whatever. I'm ready to go. As soon as I get in there too talk to 'Clive', immediate attitude. Like I'm wasting his fucking time. He barely said a word and wouldn't even look at me. So he takes my car into the garage.... 10 minutes later, it's done. That simple! And originally, they basically told me to fuck off. Again, I want gonna say anything. I just figured they were having a shit day. I go back to Antonio and he sends me out to meet some guy who was gonna place my trailer on the hitch. As he's doing it, I get behind him to see how it's done in case I have any trouble in the road. He told me to get away from him as he stood up, took a picture of the hitch, and said, "Don't take this off. If you take it off, I've got a picture of how it is." I'm a vet aggressive and threatening tone. That was the last straw. I simply had to tell Antonio about my experience with every employee I encountered. He apologized and said he'd have a talk with them. I kinda doubt that With that said, that place has the shittiest customer service. They treated me like I was sub human. None of them should be working there if they are required to interact with customers. FUCK that place! If you have other options, I suggest you take them. read more

I am here at the U-Haul tow installation office and they are calling me a liar. I have a 2014 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and told them that on the call but evidently it was not passed on to them. So they wanted to upsell me $60 because I didn't tell them it was a Hybrid. So I arrived at my appointment on time at 11am and it is 2:15. Because I had to wait until they pulled the call. I finally spoke with the GM and he was no help he stuck to the waiting for the call. Well they heard it and I did say it so now it's back to the right amount but no apology for calling me a liar. Make sure you tell them the correct information or this will happen to you. In the midst of moving I didn't have my registration with me nor plates on my car since I had just been to the DMV prior. After going home to put the plates on, I was asked about registration. Never once have I been asked about my registration during a rental. I replied stating that the registration was packed up. I was FLAGGED for this. The shorter gentleman with the light grey beard and long wavy hair had been quite snarky with me during this interaction. Very demeaning looks were given to me, making me feel uncomfortable. A man with short hair and gold glasses had been quite rushing and rude to get me out of their way and over with. At the Hillsboro location, the following day, I had no problem clearing up my "e-alert" with the staff there and with someone over the phone as well as no issue proceeding to rent the trailer I was looking for.
