This is still the worst Uhaul in the united states, why'd this one have to be the closest to me and not an actual functioning one. All the workers are lazy asf. I walked in, say good morning to the front desk guy name Marcus. I told him Im here for a pick up. He then tells me we don't have pick up at this location. So I was a bit confused and told them let me double check my email, maybe I got the wrong address... Then with attitude asked me for my phone number. And says oh you got a two day rental for a 20 foot truck? I said yes. Then he asked me with attitude, It's a 20 foot truck correct ? I said yes again. He then tells me we don't do two day rentals at this location.... Like what??? Then why let people book two day at your location?? The amount of frustration that I am currently feeling at the check in process for an online reservation cannot be understated! The 2 employees inside did not assist in anyway because it was an after hours reservation. We called the 1-800 number and waited for 20 minutes just to get redirected to the 24/7 hot line that couldn't be bothered to answer questions. They rushed me through the process of just going online now that they activated my "pick up truck" option. Overall it was an hour and a half process just to pick up the truck. This has typically been my go to stop for propane refills. However, on my most recent trip, I was told by one employee (maybe a manager?) that no one was going to be available to help me. He seemed flustered and was on the phone with someone else. I asked if I should come back another time, and he said maybe. I asked when, and he said maybe in an hour. Be careful renting from this place. They try to tell you that gas tanks are full and they are not. then they try to charge you for the full amount for not returning at a full tank. The manager didn't return my call or email and the staff he has working there don't know how to provide good customer service. I typically go here bc I need a cargo van from time to time and they have more than enough vans here for rent. Really easy to place a reservation online. Highly recommend downloading the UHAUL app is it makes the check in/out process super fast & easy. Service is good. Moving supplies like boxes, dollys, bubble wrap, tape etc. can be found inside. They also have propane tanks that you can switch out or refill on property. read more

Do not go here!!!! I reserved a van online. I checked in online. Only to get there and told that there was no van available. I was not contacted online or by phone. It says, you're guaranteed or you get 50 bucks. I wasnt offered anything but a different and larger truck. Which I explained I dont feel comfortable driving the bigger trucks. Thats why I reserved a VAN. I drove all the way from Wilmington to rent a uhaul van in Bellflower to help my family move and was told that it wasn't available and pretty much was told I was sh*t outta luck. The Blonde girl helping me was rude, didn't even sound empathetic after I explained I drove such a long way in traffic to be able to rent specifically a van since I don't feel comfortable diving anything else. SHE DIDNT CARE AT ALL. All she did was question where I drove from because I put my mother's address which is near the U-Haul location because I was going to use it in the area. When I arrive to pickup; they had switched my reservation to a pickup truck without telling me or calling to inform me. It was a wasted trip and gas. What a great place. I called for information and they said that we could do a contactless purchase of propane. When I pulled in I was greeted and told the man what I needed. I placed the tanks where he could get them. He promptly filled them. I put my card down so he could run the transaction - which he did. He returned my card to the same spot I put it. after he walked away I retrieved my card and made my way home for an awesome filet from the grill. Perfect transaction in this SCARRY TIME OF COVID!! This place is crooked. They charged me twice for a trailer rental. When I contacted them to tell them and get a refund, they told me that they had already issued a refund to my bank account. The refund never arrived. I checked my U-Haul account and they doctored up a fake reservation for moving supplies in the amount of one of the charges, which I never ordered. Total theft from my bank account. I'm on the line with their corporate office and the Sheriff's Department. One star is too much for this place but had to do one star to submit this post. read more

Be extremely careful if you choose to utilize this U-haul location, though I highly recommend you do not use them. We're absolutely sure they are running a scam. We've utilized U-Haul locations for years now, and this is the first time we have ever had an issue. I helped my dad create a reservation online so that he could receive assistance in-person (at the counter versus app/online). My father is 66 years old and not technologically savvy. He just needed the rental for a day, and I made sure to sign him up for their insurance just in case of anything. My dad showed up to pick the U-Haul on Saturday, 3/23/24, and checked in at the counter. He told them he had a reservation and asked for assistance. The clerk proceeded to take a picture of him and of his ID, as well as instructing him to look at the mileage on the moving truck. My dad asked if there was anything else he needed to do and they told him he was all set. He drove out with the truck and returned it the next day. It was used to move some furniture. There was absolutely no damage caused to the truck by him. He returned it in the exact same conditions it was when he picked it up. At the time of return, he tried to talk to someone in the counter to check in the truck and he was instructed to just leave it there and that he was done. On Sunday, 3/24/24, he received a receipt for his rental which included a $250 damage fee charge and a false statement listed. The receipt said he'd stated that he "hadn't realized he'd done damage" to the front, side, and top of the truck. He immediately called U-haul and explained that there must be an error, and he was directed by a customer service rep that he had to go onto his uhaul account and create a complaint about the damage fee, as well as reporting an accident on RepWest. There was no accident. There was no damage caused by him. The safemove insurance was voided because of "damage to the top of the truck" which is an absolute lie. Worst of all, a man representing the U-haul of Bellflower called him about 20 minutes after the complaint was filed online from a private phone number, accusing him of causing the damage. He was entirely unprofessional from the second my dad answered the call and was yelling at him on the phone. He asked him "did you follow the link?" and when my dad said he wasn't aware of having to do that and that no one had informed him, he yelled at him that there was nothing he could do and that he was responsible for the damage (again, that he did not cause and which the truck did not have). He then proceeded to threaten him if he decided to pursue this complaint, telling him he would be blackballed with U-Haul and would never be allowed to rent a truck from them again unless he dropped it and agreed to pay the fine without complaint. He went to the U-haul location this morning, 3/25/24, to try to speak to a representative about this and clear up whatever misunderstanding must be happening, but he was met with the same derogatory attitude and complete lack of accountability and support from the employees there. I would also like to point out that after searching his phone, I saw that the link sent to him was from a private number. My father never saw it, and since it was a random number messaging him, he likely wouldn't have responded either. Whenever we've had anything to do with U-haul that required a text message, it always came from their official number 84285, not someone's cellphone. They saw the opportunity to take advantage of a senior individual for their own gain and they took it. They are covering their own mistakes at the expense of their customers with shady business tactics. I cannot begin to imagine how many people they've scammed the same way and how many fake complaints they have filed with people who didn't have the care to check their credit card accounts of false charges. We will 100% be disputing these false charges with our bank, as well as looking into filing a police report to make sure these individuals stop the injustice they are carrying out at this location. Again, never had an issue with U-haul before, and this is very specific to the Bellflower office. read more

I'M APPALLED AT MY EXPERIENCE HERE. RAYMOND is the man that "helped" us with absolute terrible and lazy customer service. First of all I am so obviously pregnant. My elderly mother and I dragged our return boxes into the store and placed them up against one of the registers out of the way. When it was our turn in line, he stared at us and made us drag them to where he was and didn't help us transporting them to his register, nor did he offer to just count them where they were. He just stared at a pregnant lady and an elderly lady as they lugged the boxes to be directly in front of him. No smile, no thanks, no customer service whatsoever. HE THEN DARED ASK ME, A PAYING CUSTOMER, "Why are you returning these here and not where you bought them?" Confused I replied, "Because I moved here now? Why? Did you want me to take them back to the other store and return them there?" (Sarcastically) He answers, "I'm just saying- why make me lose the money and not them?" WHY IS THAT MY PROBLEM? Another thing is, maybe you lose money because your customer service is horrendous. I looked at my mom and laughed in disbelief, scoffed, tsk-ed, then grabbed his business card so I can remember the name of the person I'd be writing this review about. His attitude changed as soon as I grabbed his card; his customer service finally showed up now that he realized that he's accountable for the disgusting effort he gave. These boxes so gladly state "100% BUYBACK GUARANTEE" but with every experience I've had at many Uhauls, glad is the last thing I would use to describe their customer service. I have moved 6 times in 5 years. Do you know how many boxes and trucks that is? Well, it is safe to say I am NEVER moving with Uhaul again. You have completely lost me as a customer and you can blame my final straw on Raymond Arias. This location had plenty of trucks, trailers and supplies. Plenty of parking for your ride too. I paid double what I thought I would which is ok but they did not explain it well and I had to call to see about my charges. Overall, very easy, basic and clean! NOTE: BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR TEXT MESSAGES FROM THEM TO AVOID A BIG HEADACHE. I have rented here before, but now they go through a text message process to get the customer (you) more involved. I followed the original text message process but never noticed (nor was told about) the second until I returned the truck. It cost me a lot. Be sure to take the picture of the mileage and fuel gauge. Mileage was not a problem (as it started out matching), it was the gas. When I left, the gauge showed about a 1/4 tank and the display read 38 miles to empty. I put $25 in the tank and when I returned it, it was close to the 1/4 mark but he (manager I presume) insisted I was below. I knew it was better because the "X" miles to empty was not displayed. After some intense debate, he waived the $30 service charge and reduced the fuel cost, but they charge a MINIMUM 4 gallons. What should have been a few dollars for the overage of mileage ended up being almost $30 more. Dumb part, you and I both know they are not going to put that gas in. The next user will get the truck as I left it. Now, all this said, I am not soured by the event and will, as needed, rent again from them. I actually would give close to four stars but the minimum mandated dropped it to three. BTW, these must get lousy mileage as I put in over 4.5 gallons in and only drove 29 miles. read more

Ordered a furniture dolly online for pick-up. We arrived into the store, but they said that they were completely sold out. It seems their inventory hadn't been updated online. While we would've faulted them for that, they were very quick to contact other places to see if there were any stores that had furniture dollies for sale. After they couldn't find any other U-Haul locations that sold the furniture dollies (all of them were out of stock), they recommended another store for us and gave us all of the information we needed to get there. Additionally, out of kindness, one of them gave us a small furniture dolly for free. It wasn't one of their products, just one that they had sitting in the back for their own use. If we could, we would give them five stars for their great customer service! However, the lack of inventory update on their website makes them lose a star (it may be more at the fault of the website management itself, but who knows). Thanks again for helping us! read more

Made an online reservation of a moving van for a week from this Bellflower location. 20 minutes before I was supposed to pick up the van, they call me to tell me I wasn't able to rent a van for more than 24 hours and there was nothing they could do. Thankfully Uhaul Corporate Customer Service said that I was definitely able to make a week long reservation and they were able to move my reservation to the Long Beach location, where they were very helpful. read more

Did an online reservation for pick up and drop off here but the incompetent staff (Raymond and I think her name is Shannon) not only were unable to confirm and process my existing reservation but were just complete dismissive and rude about it. They questioned everything about my booking telling me what I supposedly didn't do right and tried saying I didn't book what I told them I did. Even after I pulled up my initial booking reservation which confirmed price dates and location they couldn't get their stuff together and tried to make me feel and look stupid. Mainly Shannon who had attitude from the moment I walked in but she had the right one bc I dished it right back to her trashy self which she didn't appreciate. They went as far as to change my reservation bc of their own incompetence of not being able to finalize what I did online so I had them cancel it and took my business to the paramount location. There they were not only friendly and professional but they were able to finalize and process the initial booking I had done online the very reservation the losers at this location couldn't do.
