the only redeeming qualities were of the staff receiving the truck were helpful. When i was picking it up, they (different person) were not at all, First of all, I was given the truck i rented with a 1/4 tank of gas - seriously? for anything other than a super short distance, this mandates a near immediate trip to the gas station unless you want to see the low fuel light on the whole time (not to mention the increased risk of damage to the fuel pump, so you'd think they would care more to set it much higher).. Second, the alignment on the truck was awful, such that I had to hold the wheel at a literal 90 degrees in order to drive straight, and it weaved slightly from side to side as well, which is horrible on the highway. The issue was compounded by the angle of the steering wheel permanently blocking visibility of the speedometer while driving straight, which is most of the time. terrible. read more

Nice folks who hire customer service Reps who are trained to deliver a high level of customer service. The CSR really helped me during our last move recommending what I would need for supplies based on the volume that we were packing up. I did stop by recently to obtain a mattress storage cover and since I am clueless regarding what type I would need (Q. Do you have a pillow top mattress? A. Beats me....) the Rep was able to guide me toward the perfect solution. read more

A friend of mine called and said their movers no showed.... putting my friend in a real freaking bind! I called Nicholas and told him what was going on. Within 20 minutes I was at u haul cedar park picking up the truck and furniture dolly. He had me out in 10 minutes! Nicholas was professional and sincere and knew I was in a hurry. I've used this location in Cedar Park a few years ago, and again when helping a friend move. The staff is very kind and they take time to explain things. I've used Uhaul for years now and recommend it to anyone moving. Plus it's oddly satisfying when loading up a truck, kind of like a game of tetris. Little tip... Reserved a cargo can earlier in the week for Saturday morning, got a call from one of the owners that morning. Letting me know the customer was not bringing the van back in time for my reservation. I was very upset but it was hard to stay upset because they were so nice and understanding about my frustration. They give me a few alternative options and in the end, I moved my stuff, it was affordable and everyone was happy! read more

We rented a van from this uhaul on bell Blvd, employee did no walk around which I thought was strange, normally they pull the van out, do their walk-around with their clipboard and than they give you the keys and let you do a walkaround, than you sign the papers. This never happened, van was parked completely against the fence so you couldn't see the back. I should have made her do the walkaround because when I got to my destination I noticed a large dent in the bumper and could not get the door open in the back. When I returned the van they said I caused the dent and charged 150 dollars for a van that cost 20 per day. I wonder how many people have paid for that dent. Make sure you get a walkaround done or they will wcam you. read more

All in all we had a good experience here. We rented a unit for one month. We needed to sell some things that didn't fit into our new apartment down the street so we rented a space. The employee's were accommodating and helpful. At one point when we were selling our couch one of the guys came out and helped the ppl buying it find a trailer that it could fit in. He for sure went above and beyond with the way he was helping. He didn't make them come to him he came out to our unit, measured the couch and then went and found them a trailer (they didn't have any) at another location. He made the sale easy for us! read more

I never write bad reviews but I think it's important to share my experience with this U-Haul in particular. I have rented storage from many other locations and never had a problem until this one. The new management in this location is absolutely awful, especially the manager Nick. I have never met someone in management that was so unprofessional and rude. It is important to highlight that none of the other employees behaved poorly and actually provided descent service. The main reason we moved was that new management started to charge a dollar every time we received a package to the storage until, something no other storage unit does. Nick was extremely rude when calling to tell us we had received a package which was truly unnecessary as it is a service they claim to provide. Additionally, when we decided to move I went in to ask about the process to move out and was told that I only needed to leave the storage unit empty. The day we went to move out they decided to change policies without emailing us or communicating the change of policy therefore charging us $80 for using their trash. It was absolutely unprofessional! I would have not minded paying that amount had I been told of the change beforehand. Lastly, the location of my storage unit was right in front of a paved area that would accumulate water whenever it rained and would stay for several days. I had to go to the storage unit a couple of times a week so having my shoes full with water every time was definitely frustrating. Anyway, I am never using that location for any of my storage needs nor do I recommend it to anyone! I do recommend using the U-Haul in 11320 HIghway 620 N, Austin TX as the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely worth the drive!! read more

This U-haul as well as U-haul as a whole is a joke. We reserved a 10 foot truck over a week ago for today as my partner and I are going to be moving across country from Texas back to New York and we didn't want to come the day of and not be able to get a truck. We had sold both of our cars before leaving because we have cars back in NY waiting for us. We were told by the UHaul person at the desk that it would be no issue getting a truck in and at most it would arrive at the next towns location. No issue, we'll Uber. We were also told that we would receive a call the day before the reservation telling us which location had ended up with a 10 foot truck for us. We neither received a call or a confirmation where any truck would be. The morning of the reservation my partner walked to this location's U-haul from our apartment and they said they had no trucks available for us. Again, kind of annoying that they had never called or told us but whatever we'll hitch a ride where is the nearest? 1 hour and 15 minutes away...... they had also said that there were four other customers directly before us today with the same issue!! So why the f#*% didn't you just let us know! People log where they are going to drop their UHaul off so you know at least in general how much you'll have coming in. We could've contacted a different company and seen if we could get a truck from Penske by now. We then asked if we could at least get some money off off the $1,400 truck rental even $100 to help cover some of the Uber and they said they couldn't help us with that. I'm never using this service again. Id rather rent a f^%#ing truck from a dealership and drive it back to Texas at this point. At least I know it'll be there if I reserve it. read more

Elderly Employee was SLOW!!!! Oh my goodness, waited a half hour to rent a trailer. I should have done it online, now I know! Not only did he take forever to enter all of my info into the computer he didn't even submit it! The following day my husband went to pick up the trailer I had "reserved", but nothing was in the computer! The manager didn't care that we didn't have a trailer or try to find us one in the area. I have rented from this location a few times. The last time was when I rented a car dolly to tow a car back to Dallas after the engine blew up...after owning it less than 24 hours(ughhhh). The service inside was horrid! The red bearded guy was a complete jerk to the whole store as there was several people waiting in a line and he made rude snarky comments. The girl w/ black hair didn't say a word to ANYONE, she was slow and acted like she had no clue what was going on. I was standing in line for over an HOUR to get my truck to move and it was a terrible experience. I will not be going back to that location and will steer all my friends and family away from it as well. read more

We had to do a house move recently. I booked a U-Haul unit for 1 month to store my family's belongings as we had a few days between giving up our last home and taking our current home. When I turned up to take ownership of the unit it was somehow double booked. We were unable to take the unit and I was extremely disappointed and concerned as this had already been a very stressful move (my most stressful move yet and I've moved internationally and nationally/locally many times). I left disappointed wondering what else I could do with the belongings of me, my wife and my three kids. We were going to be staying in a hotel for a few days between having a home and now having no way to store our belongings was extremely stressful. Within 10 minutes of me leaving Charles phoned me and apologized again but told me he had worked out a solution that would allow me to use the storage unit for 1 month to meet my need and enable a successful house move. Charles had contacted the other person involved in the double booking and worked out a solution that would meet both our needs. I returned to U-Haul to complete the transaction and Charles then went on to give me a number of discounts on truck rental and padlocks. The move went off without a hitch. Even though there was a double booking, Charles went above and beyond to find a solution that worked for all involved, gave a number of discounts to ease the stress of the situation and provided me great customer service through the whole experience. I recommend this U-Haul location and Charles to anyone who needs storage and moving services help to/from/around Cedar Park/Austin/Roundrock TX. Charles is a rock star at customer service and U-Haul should recognize him for his willingness to support his customers. Thank you for all you did Charles! Recently moved and so I decided to rent a truck with these guys. I bought the safe move insurance thinking that it would protect damages to the vehicle and I ended up scratching the overhead. Turns out that the protection doesn't protect damages to the overhead, so ridiculous. So when I returned the vehicle and told them about it they wanted to charge me 570$ upfront. I told them it was only scratches the vehicle still works as it should and I thought the protection would protect me from financial liability. After further discussions they lady at the desk told me that her manager would speak to me and that my account would be placed on hold. I check my bank later that evening only to find out that they charged me 669$. No one has yet to call me to talk about this and when I called them back they told me that they can't do anything about it once the payment goes through nothing can be done. That's the biggest lie I've heard and I literally think that they are charging me whatever they want which is completely unreasonable and taking advantage of the situation. I would not recommend this business they exploit their customers financially and unreasonable. Don't do business with these guys. I'm going to contest the charge. Such a waste of time. read more

Seriously! Made a reservation online to pick up a truck at this location. When we arrived we were told they had no record of it. Even when we gave the confirmation number, it was too bad, so sad. Called into the reservation center and they tell me this location has one available at 4pm, then the person here says they have nothing for the day. A colossal waste of time and energy. Ran into a snag at 9 am the day of my move and needed a second truck. Google told me this was the closest location to my new house, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I drove over and met Andrew, who quickly understood my situation and that movers were waiting on me back at my house, and hustled to get me a truck in just a few minutes. The truck was in good shape and ready to go. I turned the truck in that night and called Andrew the next morning to make sure there weren't any problems. Overall, quick customer service, painless process. I'd gladly use this location again if I needed to (but I really don't want to move again any time soon!). read more

Tried to rip me off! The rental agreement I'd signed said there were 60 more miles on the odometer than there were when I got into the truck (which was pretty dilapidated)... Had I not checked, they would have over charged me by about a hundred dollars! The guy with the beard was rude to my wife about whether or not we'd actually paid anything online to reserve the truck (a deposit is required, but he wouldn't acknowledge it), and was just kind of a jerk about it. When I explained to him about the mileage, he signed it saying there wouldn't be any problems, but when I got back, the other guy said there was nothing he could do and tried to charge me $174.00 for driving a TOTAL of 30 miles. I then watched him and the bearded guy who came back in the room, try for five minutes to figure out how to work a calculator to adjust the price. An honest mistake is an honest mistake, but given the fact that there was absolutely NO effort to be nice, I'm not inclined to believe it was so innocent. Anyway, there are simply too many other Uhaul places out there to justify going to this place... BAD IDEA, AVOID AT ALL COSTS! read more
