I was looking for a moving company that was not only dependable, but would not break the bank! I chose college HUNKS not only because of their website, but their ratings! The 4 men they sent me were very nice, courteous, quick and worked without stopping. They were such a working team that each of them knew what to do and it worked perfectly for them. Always had a smile with their answers and very easy to have them to do what I asked. Such a group of great guys. I had my furniture delivered to storage first and Claevon placed my boxes and furniture like it was a Tetris puzzle and quite the perfectionist at placing them. My parents used College Hunks for a move in December. The team that came out were great! They did a great job at packing everything into the moving truck very efficiently to maximize the space. The team had to go to two locations for picking stuff up (my parents apartment and a storage unit) and then unloaded it all at my parents new house. Overall, they moved a ton of stuff in ~6 hours and it would have surely taken us days to get that amount of work done, so it is definitely worth it! read more

DO NOT use this location. They straight up refuse to honor their side of the contract. If you go with college hunks use another location. do NOT use the leander location. their movers broke multiple items. When showing them the damage on site, we were simply instructed to "file a claim" which we did. The OWNER responded to the claim email stating "these damages do not look like standard normal moving damages" (a copy and paste response). Confused, I called the location directly to try and get some information. The owner himself admitted to me that he hadnt even talked to the ground team. Case of the right hand not knowing what the let hand is doing. Worst customer service I have ever experienced from a moving company. Will never be using college hunks and will be filing with the BBB on this location. read more

IF you need DEMOLITION done to your house, then this is the company to call! Otherwise, hire someone else. I scheduled a removal of a couch. The men assigned to my job arrived early (YAY! The only good thing), and we surveyed the removal. During the removal process, the men removing the couch gouged my walls with the couch and broke a window sill. Now obviously, they seemed upset about this and snapped pictures stating that someone with claims would be contacting me. I proceeded to pay them out of good faith (man that was a stupid idea, but call me an optimist). FIVE DAYS LATER, I finally get an email from someone from the local office requesting pictures (which I emailed back the same day). I'm now 3 days after THAT email with zero responses regardless of how much I email (or even call the number in the email signature). I've taken to calling the corporate customer service 5 times to have them message the local office with zero response. The long and short of it is this: Want destruction? Want to be left in the lurch with a $1000 repair bill to your house? Want to be ignored for over a week even though you've attempted to take the high road and pay someone for the work they did? CHHJ is your company! Enjoy the pain! UPDATE: Since I keep calling multiple numbers associated with CHHJ with the same response by the call center of "we cannot divulge any information about the location" and "we will notify the location to contact you" with zero response, I'd say that the strength (or more importantly the lack thereof) of the brand in general stands. As well Mark, you seem to be responding to all yelp reviews for all CHHJ in Austin and the surrounding areas so this might just be your purview. I'm happy to post documentation with personal details redacted to prove to larger community that I transacted business with CHHJ, but it certainly doesn't change the damage and lack of communication that persists nearly 2 weeks later. read more

I had a 4-bedroom house. Steep driveway, steps that go to the front door, and some large, bulky, heavy, unorthodox items (including a top-heavy 1,000-pound metal grill) that required special handling to ensure the safety of the movers as well as protection of the items themselves. Happy to report back that it was a professional service. The guys working the job were clearly dedicated/passionate about what they do. They spent about 5 hours loading the trucks, 1 hour driving to the new location, and another 2-3 hours offloading/cleaning up after themselves. Total cost ~$3K (tips included) for 8 hours of work, 5 Hunks, 3 trucks, and a team attitude that the job will get done. Well done! I would definitely recommend College Hunks and will plan to use them again if the need arises. read more

I had the BEST experience with the team this week! From the first call with Ashley to the moving experience with Zach, Arick, and Marshall. I called Monday & got an appt Wednesday. They were so professional and made it happen. Moving has been so stressful we did most of it on our own. But my experience with the team was the complete opposite. I had help for a couple of hours. They moved some bulky items upstairs and helped move our treadmill to its new home downstairs. I 1000% recommend them! I wish I had hired them sooner. I used this service this week. Devin & Killian were great. They were actually able to show up a little early, got right down to taking the needed items out and off we went to the new place. Even with 1 hr drive time between apts, they were able to load, drive & unload everything in the minimum hours charged. Due to an illness on my part, I had to delay my pickup date/time from original date. There was no issue on this or any additional cost incurred. I will use them again if I need to read more

I hired College Hunks Moving to move our home on June23 2023. I specifically asked if they had insurance to cover the move since I would be moving several expensive items. I was assured that they were fully covered and I had absolutely nothing to worry about. They did not bring an appliance dolly to move any of the big heavy appliances. They also did not really work as a team to move anything. Damage 1 I came outside to find my refrigerator dropped on its side. 1 person had tried to move it on a small dolly and did not strap it. They apologized and then dropped it 2 more times trying to pick it up. At that point i told them to stop and wait for me help. The side of the our stainless steel refrigerator is now all dented and scratched. Easily avoidable. Damage 2 They did not wrap or protect at all our $4500 Italian Leather Couch. They then drug it against the brick wall into our house. I heard them yell wait stop, but they never said anything to me. I had to go around and find damages like a detective. After contacting the manufacturer and having them send someone out, they say that it cannot be patched, that piece of leather has to be replaced Damage 3 They put a scratch in our entertainment center top from end to end of the 48 inches. Damages 4, 5, and 6 They left big scratches on the doors into the home They tried to wedge a treadmill into a room where it would fit and gouged the floor and wall. even after I said i would do it later. I took the legs off and it slid right in no problem. After contacting the office I was told about how employees were disciplined and how disappointed the owner was, but they weren't going to cover damages costs. The cost to repair the couch alone is almost $1000. I was told accidental damage is paid at 60 cents a pound, and they would reimburse no more that $495 for everything This was not accidental, it was careless negligence that could have been easily avoided.
