This is an update they fixed the overcharge it took a couple days but I'm just being truthful and I wanted to update my review from a 1 to a 4 because I don't really think they were trying to burn me. It was just a mistake and we all make them and they did correct it as fast as they could and they paid for some of my overcharges so that really can't complain. I mean, I can but stuff happens. My family and I chose this location due to how convenient it is for us. We live very close by and are the type of people that plan ahead (military family). Unfortunately, we experienced the same situation that several others have reported for the U-Haul Saviers road location in Oxnard. We booked our U-Haul online days before including the dolly's we wanted and everything. As soon as we arrived there, the man behind the counter started with multiple lies to try and cover for why none of it was available. He tried to say we had booked for the wrong day, then said they didn't have the type of U-Haul we needed, and then said they don't have the dolly's we needed. Being that we had planned days in advance and received confirmations of such, we showed him the receipts, at that point the gentleman behind the counter started changing his tune. He was able to give us some of what we had reserved but then began questioning why we needed some of the items. I wonder if this was because they didn't have all of the items our family reserved? My opinion is that this location is not organized and let our family down, that was a very inconvenient and unnecessarily difficult situation. A family shouldn't have to scramble to get second choice options and be questioned about why they need the ones they'd reserved. Please do better, it's not professional. read more

I dealt with the manager when I arrived , friendly and professional , guided me through the App. No more paper all done electronically. Fairly easy to use, quick in and out to my truck. They have plenty of trucks and even upgraded me to a newer truck since my assigned truck was in the back of the lot. The truck was on fumes but they helped a credit when I returned it with 1/4 tank. When I returned the truck Sean and his staff were awesome! They checked me out in less than 5 minutes. Highly recommend this location. read more

I wish I could give this place negative stars! Where do I begin, 1st off, we picked up a truck to move a few items about a week ago! Upon arrival, the guy who helped us was very rude & condescending his mannerisms were very unprofessional. It was actually amazing. We were able to complete our paperwork with as many interruptions from the individual . Had it not been crucial to move the items we needed to, I would have turned right around & walked out of this establishment. He gave us the keys & basically said it's around the corner. Upon getting in my spouse, looked at the gas gauge & saw that it was at exactly 3/4 of a tank. We did our errands & returned the truck an hour earlier than scheduled, but we had put gas first, making sure it was at the exact 3/4 of a tank we had rented it at. The same guy who couldn't even show us where the truck was, quick to check the gas gauge upon our end of service, he said that we didn't put enough gas & were going to be charged $12 to put more in, but according to my bank statement it was $17.98. I usually don't complain, but since I know it was exactly where I had picked it up at I was very upset. Over all this was a very BAD EXPERIENCE, & I don't appreciate liars & thieves who run businesses like this, I will not be using this business again nor will I ever recommend it to any family & friends. We brought the trailer to this location and George and his team were extremely patient and solution-orientated, and helped get us into a uhaul truck. George is amazing!!! Every time I go, he is always so understanding and accommodating. He is known for working two registers at one time and helping people with their phones and QR codes. I love this mindset and work ethic. What is says is "I understand". We are in the midst of big transitions, life changes, major moves. At the very least we have got a busy day or a busy few moments ahead with multiple things to juggle and manage. The fact that you are met with someone who gets it and works hard to make the process as quick and trouble free is super helpful. I was sent to this location by uhaul needed trailer for honda crv 2002 was given trailer to tow up to Bass lake ca that was big enough to haul a 19 60 Cadillac. I was towin with 2003 toyota tundra 4.7 v8 rated 5ton. They wanted to use me and my truck to haul this large trailer that was twice the size i needed to bring back to there location in oakhurst. I ended up having to tow trailer back to oxnard location. Got money back but spent 2hrs each way gas mileage due to traffic. I saw uhaul trailer size on road today 1/2 the size would've worked. Tino was the guy who helped my husband and I set up a reservation for a U-Haul Truck. We walked in, there were 2 customers before us. We waited maybe about 5-7 minutes before he asked us what we needed to do. Before he set up our reservation, he did have another customer waiting for him in the back to help with the tow hitch. He asked if we could wait. We didn't mind waiting, so we waited maybe about 10 minutes, no more than 15 minutes. He was back and ready to help us. We had wonderful customer service by Tino. He was awesome. Very helpful and answered most of our questions. read more

Customer service from the blonde woman (I think her name was Kristen but I forgot as soon as I left) was incredible. I watched her deal with irate customers with ease and class. And she was SUPER nice and helpful when it was our turn. We also dealt with an Anna over the phone who was helpful and sweet as well. They advertised that they sell and install trailer hitches and price was lower than local shops but buyer BEWARE. Over the phone I confirmed my appointment and was told the install was going to be less than an hour. I let them know I had a colic newborn and a recovering wife and they assured it was less than an hour. Well I went and it took them 4 hours... and they damaged my frame by drilling and ripping extra holes into it. Guillermo at that location does not know what he is doing. This location is bad. First of all they don't provide drop-off at different location service. Man named Andrey said it's all his trucks and if I'll take it from this location and drop-off in Hollywood it will be about $1000 for me. I don't know why he said that they all his when actually truck has Arizona license plate. And other trucks has also different license plates. How they can be "his trucks". The Hollywood location is 54 miles away from it only. And instead of paying for 54 miles driven I have to pay double price on mileage because it's "his trucks" So you can see how cool their customer service are. I have no choice but to drive twice from Oxnard to Hollywood. So then he told me that it will be $150 at the end. But when I brought the truck he brought the receipt at $178. When is actually on website advertised as $139. So either website is wrong either this location. Anyway not flexible, not working with customer, overpriced. Not recommended, no, no, no. Go to different location or do it though website only and pick up there otherwise you'll pay Andrey double price for "his trucks"!!! read more

I had them install a transmission cooler and there were some problems. Tough situation but Javier went out of his way to make it right. He even took lots of his personal time off to come and help diagnose an unrelated problem and did not charge me. I went back to their store specifically to tip him bigtime and thank him for what he did for me. I heard someone else say it, he is a "pay it forward" type of person. I meant to go to the Ventura U haul, which I know to be excellent, but I entered the wrong store in my GPS and ended up at this place. Another excellent experience. I got 3 5 gallon containers filled for $3.49/gallon which I believe is the lowest price around.. then got a 2" ball, and other mounting hardware. They were busy, so I had a short wait, but they got to me as soon as possible. The bonus deal.. one of the guys came out and spent about 15 minutes trouble shooting my light connector. I asked how much.. and he said no charge. I gave him a tip.. and a heart felt thank you. read more

I rented a car hauler this weekend and I had some issues all the way in Texas at the time I wasn't very happy but when I got home I explained my situation apon drop off the guy at the counter was extremely helpful and they made things right , at the end of the day I was really happy with the way they handled the situation. Epic fail. Ordered a 26' truck via their reservation system. Got there this morning and they did not have a truck for us. We are now forced to rent 2 10' trucks and make more trips moving. We will NOT pay for the other truck or the extra mileage. read more

This has been one of the most horrible experiences I've ever had!!! You would think that with a big name like U-Haul they would be professional, but they were sooo unhelpful, rude, carelessss, and unprofessional! I called the customer service line and the girl put me on hold and seconds later I hear the phone ringing, like WTH!!! She totally hung up on me! So I call again and specifically asked for a enclosed 5'8 trailer. When I got here at 7:15 to pick it up it was closed! They booked me after they were closed!!! I called the customer service line again and told me that they had probably booked me to pick up after hours so I go back, cause I had already left the place but AGAIN they were wrong! To top it off they got me down for the wrong trailer!! There was no after hours pick up reservation for me!!!! I call back and this time there was a more helpful lady and she recognized they messed up but that didn't take away all the stress they put me through! The next day I picked up what I asked for but they had to take someone else's reservation. I feel bad for who's ever reservation they over booked! When I went to drop off the trailer there was only one man at the counter who was really nice... poor guy tho! There were people who had been waiting for more than 35-40 minutes to be helped! Fortunately the nice men who were in front of me let the guy at the counter help me, since I was just dropping off... this is my story and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! When i arrived to pick up my trailer, i had not brought one of my ball hitches, so when they said i needed a 2" ball, i knew that would be an extra charge, and since i had several at home, i went back home, got it, and returned to get the trailer again. They hooked it up, then said i needed an adapter for the wires. I have 2 trucks, have had 4 trailers, and all have the standard trailer jack. Their trailer, however, did not, and just had the flat floppy inline plug on the end of it. They said i had to BUY an adapter. Why should I buy, for $15, an adapter that i only need today, to rent their trailer for $15? I told them to unhook the trailer and left. 2 hrs wasted. And it seemed like no big deal to them. They probably try to pull that several times a day. Beware. read more

I rented a 10 ft truck and after driving 2 1/2 miles I had a battery problem. I called their 800 number and after waiting over two hours, a repair truck finally arrived and the guy tightened a loose terminal on the battery. I was hoping to empty a storage locker with the help of two guys but they couldn't hang around that long. So I returned the truck 2 1/2 miles and asked for a credit. They gave me a credit for the rental and equipment (dolly, pads) but they charged me $14.00 for their insurance, which I could have waived initially, for sitting high and dry for over two hours. read more

They overcharge for fuel. I brought truck back with same amount of fuel using the after hours drop off and got charged $26 for fuel. I called several times to complain and was told someone would get back to me within 3 days. Two weeks later I am still waiting. Beware. Rented a furniture dolly on Saturday evening. Went in to return it on Sunday. There were 5 people in line waiting for service. A guy installing a hitch, asked for me name and told me that I could leave it by him and he would check it in when he was done. Monday morning I was charged $15.08. I called and was told someone would call me back. Then at 5:14 pm on Monday I was charged another $7.54. So I called again. I spoke with Candy in a call center. I was upset but not rude. I explained the situation to Candy. Candy replied sarcastically with an attitude that I should have gotten a return receipt. I asked her why she seemed irritated when the money is coming out of my account. As I am talking she is talking over me. When I reminded her that it is rude to talk over someone... she states she does not have to listen to me and she IS allowed to talk over me and then she hung up. ALL THIS OVER A $7.55 DOLLY RENTAL?!
