Horrible price gauging! Do not go here unless you want to pay over $100 for a "$19.95" truck rental. They rented the truck out to me with under a quarter of a tank of gas, which in itself is ridiculous. I returned the truck also still under the quarter tank mark, but then got charged 30 extra dollars because I turned the truck in under a quarter of a tank of gas. I called and explained to the guy that when it was given to me, it was under the quarter tank mark. He said it didn't matter and that I signed the contract stating that I would fill it over a quarter of a tank of gas. Mind you, there is an entire page of tiny written print that I didn't go over with a fine tooth comb, never thinking I would have to put in more gas than what they gave me. They were unwilling to compromise when I called and refused to reverse the $30 fuel fee. I will never use this U-Haul company again! Save your money and go somewhere else!! Absolutely ridiculous to pay over $100 for a "$19.95" truck when moving within a 5 mile radius! read more

Nearly 20 years renting from U-Haul and no one time have we ever been charged for not returning the fuel at the appropriate level, if not above. Gassed nearly 20 gallons to go 130 miles. On U-Haul's own page it reads their truck gets 200 miles per gallon. Truck was well above the mark I need to return the truck. I get a charge and receipt saying the truck was well below the mark to return. There are other reviews with the same accusation. Will never come back to this location. read more

I have rented at this locatation for several years. Upon move out and a move to another state, they went above and beyond and were there to help even in an interesting situation and made me feel VERY well taken care of as a long term customer. Before getting a UBox I spoke with other moving companies in the area and Uhaul and the employees at McEwan drive had it dialed in! And made the stress of moving easy and were very organized. Mark the manager is amazing. Even when super busy, they handled my situation and needs with care, good communication and personal touches, which they didn't have to do. They truly went above and beyond and I would highly recommend them for other reasons as well- clean facilities, easy access, affordable serivices and the UBOX is filled with blankets! Which was such a surprise and relief as other companies wanted to charge me a bunch for them! And moving costs can add up fast. They are the best! read more

Beware: SAVE yourself the headache, Uhaul does not make moving easier. So my fiancée and I payed for them to attach a tow dolly onto the U-Haul so that we can tow my car, not only did we get attitude, but we also got my front bumper completely torn off as the dolly completely collapsed and dropped my car in the process. No big deal right? They said they'd fix it...wrong. We filled out our paperwork and went on our merry way to California. Then I realized midway the passenger door didn't completely close. Great So now I'm gonna be in 20 degree weather with a door that won't even completely shut. A week went by, and they never called us. It took us about a month of us harassing them to get any response, we got our claim denied twice, when they were clearly at fault. My fiancee went here to buy boxes for a move. She also asked about POTENTIALLY renting a U-Haul for the move. The employee (mid-40's man) informed her that he could place a tentative order that could be cancelled any time. She said no thanks, but he insisted on giving her a quote. He said in order to give said quote that he would need all her personal information (name, address, phone number, email). After receiving a quote, she again said no thanks and left with just the boxes. The VERY NEXT DAY she checked her email in the late night to find that AN ORDER FOR A U-HAUL WAS PLACED WITHOUT HER CONSENT OR KNOWLEDGE! This is very unethical on their part and if it isn't resolved properly (ie no charges), then we will have to use other measures to resolve this problem. read more

This is a long overdue review, stemming from experience moving items from out of state into Oregon in early June 2019. We used the Uhaul U-Box service. Customer service was a disaster in every way, from start to finish. Not all of it was exclusively the fault of the Lake Oswego location, but the bulk of it certainly was. At delivery, the forklift operator damaged extensive pieces of the yard at the rental property the boxes were delivered to. It took several months of badgering the store manager by phone call and email, to finally have a national customer service representative give the name of a manager higher in the food chain. When I explained all the damage that was done and the improper handling of the boxes in transit, all that was offered was a refund of the $80 delivery charge. Thousands of dollars charged by Uhaul for deliver, damaged yard and hedge, damaged U-boxes, and the partial loss of a security deposit on our rental unit later, and all we were offered was an $80 refund. I'm disappointed because this Uhaul has previously served us well. It's obvious that this particular location is not a branch of the company that cares about customer satisfaction. read more

I have been so impressed by the manager Eli who does a great job multi-tasking and has a fantastic team with outstanding customer service. Their professionalism and honesty has shined. Simply put, the staff at U-Haul Lake Oswego made yesterday the smoothest and most pleasant moving experience of my life in regards to a truck rental. I had a truck reserved from 9am to 2 pm, and the pickup process was as painless as it could be. Was in and out of the office and in my 10-foot truck within 10 minutes. I ended up having some delays in the loading process, and when I called in they went ahead and extended my reservation through the day so I could take all the time I needed to get moved into my new place. Upon returning it, they got my return processed within 5 minutes. Excellent service, completely as quickly as possible. Will use this U-haul again! Thanks guys! read more

Had them install a hitch on my car. Stopped working after 1 tow. Made an appointment to have them fix it. They had my car for the day and didn't fix it. I left it another day when I picked it up they told me I didn't get it from them so I'd have to wait until next week for a part. After I convinced them I did buy it from them, they said to bring it back the next day. I did, and they told me they were too busy to get to it but would call me in a hour or so to have me bring it in. They did not call. I tried to call them but you can't. You get a service center in Arizona. They seemed concerned and told me they would have the GM call me shortly. Never called. 3 days later the Service manager called me and said they just need to get the part in. He would call when it arrived the next day. He never called. Then the end of the week, I received an email confirming my appointment 9 minutes from then. I live 17 miles away. Then next day received another confirming appointment 14 minutes from then. Then another confirming for next day at no time asking me if it would work. No calls, no apologies, no excuse for miserable dishonest service. read more

Ok. So I need a van and I need it at 10:00 sharp so I make the reservation a week in advance and complete the online check in to "save time". I go check in and have to wait in line for 30 minutes!!! There were 6 people in front of me when I arrived and there was only one guy working the desk but he left for 10 minutes at a time. Drop off went much smoother than pick up. The girl who checked me in was very nice. Overall the vehicle was very clean, in good shape and the cost was reasonable. read more

IT'S IN THE CONTRACT.... That's what I was told about the $20 "convenience fee" when returning the trailer. It would have been more convenient if the store manager would have mentioned this when signing the contract. How about giving me a $20 convenience discount when you changed store locations when I was standing in the store that I had made reservations for a pick up, how about the leak in the trailer that soaked my new sofa. The customer service was initially good, there were no problems there, the young man who helped me was fast and very good. There was one thing I did not care for though, I saw two charges from U-Haul on my bank statement. I decided to call in and just ask about why there are two charges on from U-Haul because I did not understand why there would be two. When I called in and talked with Peggy, she asked "What don't you understand? 62.63 plus 51.44 equals $114.07." She did not even try to explain why there were two charges and what they were for. After she gave me my lesson in arithmetic, I told here I knew how to add the two numbers together, but I was really after an explanation of charges. I am not a stupid person and would like to be treated like my business matters to some degree. Needless to say, I will not be renting from this location again. read more

I used this facility recently during a move to rent trucks and to store items until my new home was ready. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The storage area is great. The storage units are accessed through a huge breezeway that has a giant door at each end and is large enough to accommodate just about any size of truck. If it's after hours, you need to put in your code to enter the breezeway, so it's very secure. (If you want to access the facility after 7 p.m., it's a few extra dollars a month, but you can cancel that at any time.) The enclosed breezeway also means that you don't have to worry about the weather when you are loading and unloading. There is plenty of parking in the breezeway. There is also a men's bathroom and a women's bathroom in the breezeway which are locked unless you enter your code. The bathrooms were always spotless. Each storage unit has its own alarm and I know they work because I forgot to put in my code once and set mine off by mistake and I saw someone else set his off. My only suggestion would be to get a storage unit on the ground floor because the ones upstairs can only be accessed by stairs. There is no elevator. That seems very odd, considering this is a new facility. Another reviewer had mentioned having to wait at the counter. I experienced that myself, but it was always because the employees were helping other customers or tending to the rental trucks outside. It would be nice if they had a dedicated counter person. read more
