U-Pack was quite an efficient way to move across the nation. Almost everything you need to know is covered in the instructions/videos. The locks for the bulkhead that I purchased at the hardware store (Master Locks) with 2" shaft were not the proper diameter because they had a special octagon shape to prevent cutting. Also using the text message to let them know they could pick up did not get received but when I phoned to confirm they still had the predetermined pick up scheduled. Not a thing was broken. Great pricing, fast shipping, and great customer service. I've used this company twice now and have no complaints. The first time was a little rough for me as I didn't pack my container that well but I learned from my mistakes & packed perfectly the 2nd time. The shipping was super fast. I was advised it'd be here between Thursday and Tuesday of the following week.. it was here on the Wed before the estimated time frame. We compared ABF's Relocube with U-Haul's U-Box container and, of course, Pods. The Pods product was much more expensive and not as responsive as the other companies. U-Haul's U-Box was less expensive, but ABF matched prices. The U-Box is made of chipboard and covered with an orange tarp and does not seem very sturdy, where ABF's Relocube is made of all metal and seals tightly. The Relocube is more secure and waterproof. Also, it appears that it would hold up better in an accident. We were able to arrange to have the Relocube stay at the house in Mesa, AZ for a few weeks before pickup and delivery to ABF's NJ Carlstadt Terminal, for secured onsite storage of our personal items (about one room of furniture: dining room table, buffet, 6 chairs, 12 large paintings, an antique trunk, 15 boxes and still had room for the washer and dryer) that we wanted to keep during an estate sale and to ensure the house sale was going to go forward. It was also nice to be able to verify that the Relocube was watertight. The delivery of the Relocube was on time to the house, and the driver removed it from the trailer and placed where we wanted on our driveway using a forklift (it was too tall to put inside my garage). The Relocube appeared brand new and was clean, and had no odor. They picked up the Relocube on the date arranged and delivered to to NJ Terminal in 3 days, earlier than the 5-8 business days indicated. We were not in NY yet, but this was no problem. ABF arranged for us to pickup at our convenience. We had contact with ABF to schedule everything, for delivery, for pickup, and when it was delivered to the Terminal. Each Agent was helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. When we opened the Relocube in NJ, there was only one painting that was out of place (but not damaged) and that was because we did not secure it. The whole experience was painless, as expected and as agreed. Could not ask for more, especially for the price, under $1750 the exact same as the estimate. read more

Moved my storage unit stuff from Northern California to home in Phoenix. I'd looked into various ways including renting truck, professional moving firm and UPack. All total U-Pack was much less costly than pros, around same as if I rented truck and drive myself and way less stress and work on my part (the drive). Excellent experience. Half the cost of a Uhaul Ubox with a lot more room. Better to transport boxes. The container is tall rather than long. So keep that in mind. If you can create a base of boxes. U-Pack is a communications system designed to get your stuff from here to there as easily as possible and it works great. I have used it twice. - from a hard to get into place in AZ to a hilly street cluttered with wires in CA- Bear in mind that you will speak with or meet between 7-10 people in the process. Each of these contractors or employees is the best person available at that time and place and each has their own personality and circumstances and none of them are spokespeople for the company as a whole and each could be rated on a separate scale if you live like that. 1- is the guy who books you, 2- confirms and gives you numbers and links, 3- parks the trailer at your place, 4- informs you if they can service your destination address, 5- sometimes the same or different trucker picks up the trailer, 6- destination dispatcher gives you the arrival window, 7- different trucker delivers the trailer, 8- dispatch connects you to 9- U-Pack scheduler who registers the trailer as ready to be picked up and tenth person is the different trucker who shows up to collect the trailer. Generally, all ten do their job, sometimes with grace and humor, and voila- all your stuff has been relocated to your chosen destination. read more

Entire experience was flawless!!! Most of all of the less than five star reviews I bet are due to the fact that the container as you pack it upwards, and it fills, placing additional pressure due to weight increasing is placed on items below and in turn items break, get damaged and tempers flair, especially when it's discovered that the insurance provided is inadequate at best as it's per lb, not by value. As to my experience , online assistance was perfect. Driver showed up as scheduled with Container, and spent ample time explaining loading as well as placing container where it was best for loading. Loading time was ample, pickup and delivery was fast! Unloading no issues, no damage whatsoever. I would definitely use your services again!! read more

What an Amazing Experience with U-Pack. Due to job Location change, I had to move from Overland Park, KS to Phoenix,AZ. And it had to happen in a 2 Weeks notice. I was little worried on how to move my house hold stuffs. I connected with U-Pack and understood how they make the move. They also gave me a competitive quote and price estimation. I felt assured, but still had a bit of doubt. Is it really possible that they will deliver my stuffs in 5-7 business days? Do they have any hidden cost? Will they keep their commitments w.r.t. dates. And they surprised me. They delivered the Pod to my address, on the exact date they commited. I had 5 days to pack and load my stuffs. I could do it in a much planned way, coz I did not have to hurry. 5 days, was more than enough. I called them to pick up on the day when I had to leave. I gave them a time to pick up. Again they surprised that the truck arrived exactly the same time. They loaded the POD. On 5th day, I got an eMail that my shipment have arrived at Phoenix AZ. I had taken a MOnth storage. They give 15 days of free storage, from date of picking for free. Which is Amazing. It gives time to settle down in a new city, finding apartment and all. I had taken one month extra storage. Even after 45 days, I needed couple of more days to have the pod in their Storage. Amazingly they did not try to stick to their business policies. Any other company may have charged for one more month storage charge or at least a pro rated charge, Right? But, the U-Pack team understood my difficulties and allowed me to have the container in storage, for not additional cost. Its an excellent customer service. And beats every other packing and moving companies. Such a nice company, keeping customer satisfaction at their priority, sticking to times they commit, hassle free movement. I've used ABF UPack for two cross country moves and have been very satisfied with their service. In fact, I recommend them to everyone I know who is contemplating a long-distance move. The first time I used UPack they dropped off a trailer, which we packed ourselves and then put up a bulkhead barrier. They leave the trailer with you for 3 days to load it and then 3 days on the other end to unload it. For our recent move we got one of their ReloCubes - which works basically the same way except that all the space is yours and you lock it with your own lock. The staff at the Phoenix location are very professional and helpful. The driver that dropped off the ReloCube after we arrived was very friendly and even gave me some tips on local places to check out since I was new to town! It is a great way to move long distance with out have to worry about driving a big truck or towing a trailer. And its very affordable in comparison to full-service moving companies. read more

Never Never Never Never again... These reviews on this website must be bogus.. The pick up time was late I was inconvenienced to the extreme.. The pricing was all over the place and when asked to review the call I was still quoted a different price.. Frustration to the most high... All of the arrangements that were set in place were never adhered to.. A big mess.. Never again.. When I called to have them pick it up because this is something I stated to them over the phone that it could not be in my complex over the weekend.. I got a sorry your not on my list to have this cube picked up and maybe just maybe we can retrieve this on Monday... For the money and the bleeping headache next time I will just drive my things myself... I don't recommend this people for anyone that is moving cross country, cross the street or across the universe... It's shameful to say the representative that initially took my call and got me all geared up was very pleasant and a few along the way and then the poop hit everybody's fan... PS.. I was a little worried after I read some reviews but scheduled the drop off to give me a few days just in case it was not done in time. I called back to change the pick up date and kinda seen that is where some people might have issues with. I thought they had scheduled the entire pick up and drop offs. The lady I talked to let me know no the day before you have to call to have it picked up and call before dropping off the container at the new home and call again to have it picked up. I called U-Pack a month before my move. Cecil H corresponded with me via e-mail. He sent me a complete package of information, along with a contract and price. He always answered ALL my questions and was very patient. I had read some negative reviews on Yelp and I was quite nervous about doing business with U-Pack, but the price was soooo fair in comparison. On March 29, Jim W dropped off the empty trailer early morning. He lowered the ramp for me and even showed me how to remove and secure the bulkhead (which I made him show me like 3 times!). He was so informative and showed me exactly what I would need to do with the paperwork. I told him he was my angel cuz I was so nervous that morning and he was so friendly, calm and so kind. He truly was amazing. Bill came to pick up the loaded trailer the next day and he was also very nice. I had no problem tracking the loaded trailer. Once it got to Georgia, I spoke with Steve and Paula. They were so friendly and so accommodating. The trailer was dropped off on April 6 in the morning by Matt. He did everything in his power to make sure the trailer was in the area I needed it to be to unload. He was kind enough to lower the ramp for me and help me with the "dreaded" bulkhead. He was amazing. I called the terminal late afternoon to notify them that I had emptied the trailer. I wished for same day pickup but didn't expect it. At 8 p.m. Matt shows up to remove the empty trailer. What a guy!!!! The price was exactly what they had quoted me for the space I had used and not a penny more. I experienced excellent and friendly service with ABF/U-Pack. Thank you guys soooo much. Moving is a stressful experience no matter what but U-Pack made that stress lessen at every stop. From customer service, to those who dropped off and picked up the trailer, to the driver, everyone was polite, helpful and professional. Not only were we treated with respect but so was our belongings. Furthermore we had some issues with our new apartment manager being rude about allowing our trailer to be there and the driver Dave went above and beyond! He spoke with the manager and advocated that it is our move in day and the trailer will be picked up once the movers are finished. He didn't have to do that but I can tell customer service and ensuring I was treated fairly was his concern. He turned a difficult situation into a manageable one. Awesome! This is the better alternative to PODS and UHaul boxes. Pods is way too small to fit our stuff. We would get about 4 pods and we only ended up getting 2 upack trailers. The best part is they charge you for a full trailer and the 2nd trailer they charge you based on the how many ft you use. Which is amazing! We were in a pickle where our original movers showed up with a uhaul truck thinking it would fit all our stuff. So we told them no it can't fit so we decided on getting upack and and freight because of the trailer options! Best part is that they fit us within 2 days of making reservation and saved our lives from a short moving timeline. I had a great experience and I would use them again. In fact already planning that is how my daughter will move from CT to NC. I have moved so many times with both corporate moves and personal. When paying your own way - this is the only way to go. You have 100% charge of the packing. If something breaks - blame yourself for not packing it well. I also used MovingStaffers, via U-Pack, to help load and unload. They subcontract out to highly rated local companies so you don't have to do that research and negotiations. I even had an upright piano stuffed into one of the cubes. Despite sitting in freezing temps along the way - it arrived safely and almost in tune. The basic rate for one cube from AZ to CT was just under $1500. It was so much cheaper than a moving company. Had a hiccup with the local dispatch at the destination but U-Pack customer service (Jamie!!) was amazing. For a move that occurred during terrible winter storms and Covid - this turned out great. read more

I have moved interstate for the first time. There was a lot of anxiety regarding which movers to pick. I came across U Pack company while searching on Google. There are two ways you can get your stuff transported. I used relocubes. You can reserve as many relocubes you want and pay for the number of relocubes you end up using. They usually take 3 - 5 business days to get your stuff transported from origin to destination. The whole process is very organized and easy to follow. You get prompts via text messaging. You can track your luggage via tracking number. My luggage arrived before time. I highly recommend using U Pack for moving. You have full control of the process. Moved a single large crate from Peoria AZ to Audubon Mn. The trailer was delivered on time Friday afternoon and gave me all weekend to load it. The trailer came with a long aluminum ramp that helped with the loading. I was sent notifications along the way to let me know where the trailer was through out the move. The trailer was delivered on time the following Friday and gave us time to unload it on Saturday. I called Monday morning to have them come pick up the trailer and it was gone on Tuesday morning. Overall it was a good experience, no hidden fees, everything went as planned. I would use U Pack again in the future. read more

We had 2 U-pack pods filled with our belongings moved across country by U--pack. Overall, our experience was stellar with a small exception: a few of our items were minimally damaged but this is because we probably didn't pack them well enough. Be advised that you need to make sure everything is very padded and protected in those pods. But the people/customer service at U-pack were wonderful to work with. They helped us figure out a pick up and drop off schedule and were on time and kept in touch every step of the way. We highly recommend them to save on moving costs. read more

This company is a joke! I originally reserved 2 moving pods and the rep said one pod would be more than enough for a one bedroom apt so I canceled the 2nd pod. The pod arrives today and it's basically a storage closet?? I should have never listened to their recommendations. At the last minute I had to cancel UPACK and get a moving company all in the same day! Upack charged me 150.00 cancellation fee within 30 minutes of drop off. Unbelievable, you would think they care about their customers vs believing that the rep did push/convince only one pod was needed! I will never refer or recommend this company/ service to anyone. The whole experience was fairly seamless. Easy to get quote online (it was pretty accurate too, fit a 4 bedroom house in one trailer, granted we purged a lot) trailer arrived on time to load, paying for only the space you use is a big plus! No hidden fees. The online tracking was nice to see general progress (a notification when the truck arrived at destination would have been stellar, but I checked it often). Only unfortunate is trucks can't be delivered on weekends. Customer service was awesome and always happy to get you latest status (even when you are that annoying person that calls every few hours like me). Delivery and pick up of trailer in both locations was super easy. As seen in other reviews, good advice to really pad and wrap your furniture. We did our best to Tetris it all in there but we should of wrapped some of our furniture better as there was small dings and chips (our bad, not upack). If you are moving out of state, this is a really cost efficient way to go. Highly recommend! read more

More expensive than driving up yourself with uhaul, but cheaper than getting a full moving service--I thought this was the sweet spot! But the timing is a serious issue. When I scheduled, everyone kept telling me "delivery in 3 - 5 business days." I saw that so many times. Now I'm here, 6 business days after they picked it up, and it won't be here until the next business day, which means three more nights of sleeping without a bed and three more days of no furniture or stuff. They do have a delivery guarantee option that you pay extra for, but it was never communicated that the 3-5 business days delivery was just an estimate. I scheduled my move around the 5 day delivery date, and now I'm shit out of luck. Be careful. Make plans. They'll probably be late. read more

This review is a little split. I had a great experience with U-pack on my trailer when it came to dropping it off to be loaded and picked up. They were fast and efficient in getting my shipment to its destination. But that is where it all went south. See when you make a reservation with u-pack they make you think you have full control over your personal belongings. Once your freight reaches its destination you simply make a call 1 business day ahead and they will deliver. Well my trailer has been sitting in a major city all weekend, 90 miles from my home. I called on Friday and was told that I could call Monday and have my trailer delivered on Tuesday or Thursday (Thursday is thanksgiving so my choice was Tuesday) Tuesday would have been great, I mean who doesn't want their stuff as quickly as possible. So I call Monday and get transferred to my local ABF freight office and get told they only make deliveries to my area on Wednesdays! And because of the holiday (and the fact that my area apparently has specific delivery days, which they don't tell you during reservation) this dam trailer is going to sit here in my driveway for a full 7 days! They make you think its all pretty cool and fast and you have control but you don't. They decide when they make the deliveries. So you better make sure you ask these questions when you make your reservation. They don't tell you they are gonna hold your belongings hostage until THEY feel they are ready to deliver. I don't care how far I am from the home base, I paid almost 3,000 dollars to have my stuff delivered. It shouldn't be on their schedule when you're paying that kind of money. I paid for a service, schedule a work order to deliver when the customer requests! You work for me, I don't work for you! I reserved my move with u-pack under false pretenses and lies! And when I called twice on Monday, I got nothing but attitude. Everyone was sweet as pie until I paid for my trailer. Now that they have your money they couldn't give a shit. I will update this shit show on Wednesday when we see how delivery goes. read more

We had a wonderful experience with UPack, the employees were helpful, honest, informative and kind. We reviewed several companies before picking UPack and this being our 5th time moving across country this was our best experience so far. Our last move was a nightmare. I saw a few complaints but called UPack asked our rep Eric a few questions and he explained the issue. The trailer comes with clear instructions on the retaining walls plus you're sent a text with all the directions. Put the retaining walls up, lock and you won't have any issues. Great communication and our belongings arrived 2 days earlier then expected. Hopefully this is our last move but if not we'll be using UPack again! read more

U-Pack was the only legit moving company that was professional AND able to offer us the best price. We compared the cost to U-Haul and other similar companies such as Pods. Pods was more than double the price for what would have been the same move and their customer service was not as good either. I was very impressed with U-Pack's flexibility with our move. When we had to change moving plans a week before, all it took was a 2 minute phone call to change everything and they also ensured that the price wouldn't change! ABF was great when it came to pickup and delivery. They were always so kind and helpful. Another thing that I appreciated was that the moving quote we got at the beginning never changed. There were no hidden fees of any sort. We moved from Phoenix area to East Iowa all for $2,085 and I would definitely recommend for any cross country move or any move that requires storage. Most of our things had no trouble in the relocubes, but if I were to do it again I would make sure more things are tied down. Our items on top shifted around a bit, but luckily not too much damage was done. I have no complaints - Awesome company and prices that really can't be beaten! read more
