In 2024, while I was living in the area for work, I experienced what I believe was repeated…read moretargeting by this department. In one instance, I went on a hike and returned to find that my car had been entered. I was later told it was because my vehicle was "running," but that was not true--my car has an automatic shut-off feature and was not running at the time. During this incident, personal and confidential items were taken from my vehicle. In another situation, I believe I was followed prior to an encounter outside a bar. When I exited, holding only water, I was physically confronted by a peace officer. Despite not being the aggressor, I was charged with assault. Based on my experience, these incidents raise serious concerns about potential misconduct, including unlawful entry, false reporting, and excessive use of force. I'm sharing this so others are aware and can stay informed about their rights when interacting with law enforcement. Accountability and transparency matter in every community.

I walked into the Placer County Recorder Offices expecting a CA DMV-like experience. Instead, I received extremely helpful and customer-centric service from Dawn. She helped me understand the process, the fees, what to expect and even offered to make copies of the documents for me. (granted, there was a fee, but that's not her fault). Very impressed to find a department in our government that was so customer focused and friendly.

Now I'm on it for 30+ and always late to my destination. Their system allows for add ons at any time, pushing current rider's drop-off times back. If you have an appointment, you better book your pick-up for an hour or more in advance, and pray you make it. They'll claim it's "holiday" traffic. Bs. It's been this way since they took over.
