I brought all necessary identification, including my passport, driver's license, birth certificate, and marriage certificate, to make the process as smooth as possible. Despite this, staff at the branch declined to sign or stamp the form, stating that Bank of America does not provide wet signature for external documents. I was surprised by this, especially given the bank's involvement in other verified transactions like mortgage processing; as my family has held three mortgages with Bank of America. As a result, I've experienced delays in receiving my funds and have had to request a physical check from the State Controller's Office instead. For those planning to retire using CalPERS or a 457(b), I recommend confirming your bank's willingness to support your financial transition--or consider a financial institution that can partner with you on long-term goals. I now get to spend my weekend figuring out which auto pays I need to switch before my bill payments get rejected, because the part is - they changed my card at the end of the month. You know, when bills are due? Apparently I have 3 days to change all of my payments before my current card is deactivated - information that was not sent to me with the new card, but rather, that I had to wait 30 minutes on hold to find out from their call center. I had to come here because the other Pacific Service Credit Union I normally use, in Pleasant Hill, had their notary in training, so a nice teller there directed me to this location, which was only a few miles away. He said that all the managers here were notaries, so there should not be a problem at this location. This first thing to note is it is in a corporate center off of Diamond Boulevard on Willow Way, which is a convenient location (near retail and the freeway). The grounds are well manicured, and it was like walking through a beautifully forested garden to get to the front door. There were things like bridges that crossed creek beds, tables with umbrellas, stone pillars, wood railings, and an assortment of plants! I loved smelling the freshly cut grass. There was also plenty of parking. Inside, the location is different than most banks or credit unions. There are no barricaded windows. Everything is open, and the space is more quaint, smaller than what banks used to be. The teller quickly saw me, and directed to wait for the manager, who was with another customer. I sat in a plush waiting area with four seats. I forget to check if they have wifi, but I'm pretty sure they do. I noticed a free coin counter (think Coinstar) on the wall, as well as free shredding (limit one box). I used it in the past when it was a Coinstar at the old Pleasant Hill location. After waiting a while for the manager, she came and greeted me and apologized for taking so long. She verified my ID, added a California notary form to my provided New York State one since she had to do that to meet her legal requirements, and took my thumb print at the end. It was a quick and painless process. I was very happy how everything went, despite the wait. The only thing I would recommend is a little bigger signage directing customers to the branch location. It is confusing, because they also have the Pacific Service Credit Union corporate headquarters here, but in another part of the building. But at the same time, larger signage would make the grounds look gaudier, and there was probably a lot of user error on my part, lol. The branch is located in the rear. I parked in the front, but it was actually fun walking through the beautiful landscaping to get to the entrance. The nearby retail locations on Diamond Boulevard have become known for crime (think The Veranda), but this location felt very safe, as it was a corporate area. This location is in a big office tower but they validate parking so it is free to use the downstairs parking lot. And there is good chain sandwich cafe that is very convenient for lunch in the lobby.

Online customer service is always helpful. They even host a luncheon for business owners with interesting guest speakers. Who knew a bank would/could do this? This bank treats me like a king.
