I went to Redwood Credit Union to deposit $500 in my daughter's checking acct on 4/23/25. The…read moreteller apparently accidently posted it as $5,000. Later that day, my daughter called me and asked about the deposit. I went to the bank the next day to straighten this out. I spoke with the branch manger who told me the deposit had been corrected and the $4500 difference had been removed from my daughter's account and I would have my money back in 2-3 business days. No apology, very matter of fact. It is now 19 days later, numerous phone calls and trips back to the bank and I still do not have my money. To say I'm frustrated is an understatement. Now Redwood is trying to blame my bank for the delay and giving hollow excuses. My feeling is Redwood made the error and needs to fix it. Now. Do I need to hire an attorney to straighten this out? If they have the ability to withdraw the money in less than 24 hours, why is it 19 days and the money is still not in my account? I cannot recommend Redwood Credit Union because I don't want others to go through what I am dealing with. I had to sell stock to cover this amount so I'm out that as well. It's definitely not right to be treated this way.

It's like - why aggressively encourage customers to use their virtual waiting room system if the bankers can't update their live availability? Guess that's a preview of what it's like to be a Wells Fargo customer. The friend that gave me a referral coupon mentioned WF might be sliding back into their old shady business practices - they'd gone to this branch to prevent a CD from renewing, then magically Wells Fargo renewed it anyway.

Good question. I was working with a friend on a real estate transaction and I simply needed a copy of a check with my name and address on it. Easy enough, except I was away from home and away from my check books that have been collecting dust for ages. Who uses checks anymore?! Mute point, I still needed to provide what was needed. The solution was to go into a branch and grab a counter check. I think you know where this is going by now, right? Welp, asking for a counter check was a request that had me questioning if I had three heads by the way the teller looked at me. After consulting someone else it was determined that either they didn't have the ability to provide me one or didn't want to. I'm sure it was the first of the two. So what do you do in a situation like this? You go next door to Chase where you have additional accounts and they provide them in 5 min or less. Thanks Chase!

Not to say their attitude was bad, just really did not care about their job and makes the interaction awkward. Their relations department is wonderful to work with though, many follow ups after several visits to make sure everything was adequate. Lines during peak hours can be horrendous, so I'd suggest making sure you visit during off hours as this is the only BOFA location in Sonoma and nearby. Outside of that, it's a regular BOFA bank, so nothing too special. To be fair, hard to really put anything on the level of many non large conglomerate banks.

Then I noticed the reviews are two to nine years old. The customer experience has definitely changed at the Sonoma Chase branch. The lack of attention to customer service gives a Too Big To Fail impression most times that I visit this branch. I would think a company this old would have figured out how to take care of their customers in a timely fashion. Two out of every three visits I make to this branch are disappointing. If you are looking for a bank in Sonoma, I am confident you will have a better experience at any other bank in town.

After looking for15 minutes she said well you will have 10 days to move the money or it will automatically roll over. I replied, well you are closed on Saturday and Sunday so I can only take action on the days the bank is open so that would be 6 to 8 days depending on what day of the week I was notified. She kept repeating no you have 10 days. This went back and forth until I said you're counting Saturday and Sunday when the bank is closed. Three weeks ago I requested checks for our trust account and I was sent checks in my name. My husband's name was not on the checks and the trust name was not on the check. I had to cancel the order and will have to wait 3 more weeks for new checks. When I called the bank to make the correction the person wanted to know the name of the person who took my order. She said she didn't know who took my order because she did not recognize the initials on their computer. I found this concerning because they have no idea who took my order and decided to issue the checks in an incomplete form.

My account was closed with no notice; how about a letter, phone call, text or email? They claimed it was a computer error and snipely told me to call about the direct deposit that it was not their problem but yet they caused said problem. Not to mention I had been banking with them for 20 years and as stated above the fees are just horrendous. Also would like to add I found out about this yesterday when I was at the store picking up Thanksgiving dinner but my card was declined and hence no dinner for today, way to go Westamerica! As others have noted BoW fees seem high and I guess it's only been a matter of inertia that's kept me here. I have a business account that has consistently maintained a five to 6 figure balance but when I attempted to secure financing I couldn't attract anyone's attention, the bank just didn't want to lend me money. My history with them, my pristine credit, my business plan, nothing could elicit any interest. Now I'm not in the banking business so perhaps the Bank of the West has some other source to make a profit, or maybe their stockholder's aren't interested in a profit; I can't imagine but after 10 years they have finally lost this customer and all the customers that I used to steer their way.
