Every staff member I interacted with was helpful, polite, and friendly. They were patient and professional, and I truly appreciate the work they do to help people in our community. Wow. Well where do I start. I have been fighting for SSDI for 2 years. I got approved. I also…read moreapplied for SSI because the person that filled out my appl8cation said i should apply for it, even when I told the person I would be getting LTD. I was approved 2 years later after having to fight for it. I was approved my the judge on May 27th and ssdi approved me June 30th, I got a letter stating that my back pay was on hold due to my ssi application. I was denied ssi on July 7th 2026 which was my interview with them but yet, as they sent a letter saying it was the 16th of july 2026. They released the payment to my lawyers, and when i spoke to ssdi the end if july they said i should have my back pay by the 22nd of August 2026, said if i had not heard anything by that yime then to call. I called and was told ssi had not closed out my case and my back pay is still on hold! Lol so it's been almost 45 days since i was denied by ssi even though it shows i was denied in both ssi and ssdi systems they will not release my back pay until ssi processes my case. My landlord was diagnosed with cancer and has been fighting and found out 1 week ago about there is nothing else they can do for him and gas 6 months to live. I am and have been counting on this back oay from ssdi that i have fought 2 years for and waited 70 minutes on the phone today to be tomd i should just be patient. Being told ssi case mamget has not done their job. They wonder why there are soooo many homeless and upset and angry people. But when some on the other end that has an attitude from the get go of answering the phone and you are truong very hsrd to be nice. I actially have no patience for people who are unable to do.their jobs! And if anyone makes thos political it's not a political thing. It's a person that is holding up my back pay. I even asked if there was anything i could so to help speed it along. I was tomd they sent an email to the manager. So I am just supposed yo have patience well maybe they should be more patient with people and nicer wjen answering their calls!​

But as is the case here on Yelp, it's become a review site for the city itself. So where do I begin? Sandy is the little kit who grew up and went away to college. I remember as a kid, the Salt Lake valley sort of ended at 10600 South and Sandy was about as far as you went unless you went out to the farm town of Draper. When they built South Towne Mall we all thought they were nuts for putting a mall on the outskirts of society and in a small town like Sandy. I lived in Sandy for many years, so the love goes back. But sometime around the end of the last millenium, things starting picking up for my old hometown and they started to get some size. The buildings got taller, the politics got a lot more shrewd, the developers starting putting in track housing and strip malls, and suddenly you have a big city on the south end of the valley, only now it's not so frontiersy. I like old Sandy (around 8600 S and just east of State Street) but it's been neglected for a while. New Sandy has a lot less character but a lot more people and let's be honest, it's a heck of a place to raise a kid and own a house. The old strip malls have been slowly inhabited by businesses with a little more flair and it's coming into its own. It's a big city--I lived on the east side, and had lots of parks at my fingertips. You have the busy commercial sectors around 9000 S and especially 10600 S, so everything you need is pretty close by. I don't love the breakneck development (we missed a real opportunity to make Quarry Bend something besides a giant shopping complex) but so far it's held up pretty well. All in all, it was and still is a great place to grow up and it seems to have grown up pretty well itself. Hopefully it continues to grow and diversify.

I love that we can download e-books and periodicals online too. I was very impressed with the South Jordan Branch Library. it is part of a much larger county organization and we can enjoy books and other entertainment from all community branches. Not only does it have extensive resources and events, but it is beautifully decorated as you can see by the pictures below. Staff are knowledgeable and courteous, and we enjoyed browsing through music, book, and even DVDs. An extensive calendar of events is also available for the community to take advantage of. If you haven't gotten your library cards, go to any local branch and they will have you ready in under five minutes. Just bring a form of ID and proof of residency, like a utility bill. They said even my four-year-old granddaughter can get a card with an adult. Stop by soon and let me know what you think!

Spent 15 min in line, looked back and there were 15 people behind me! My suggestion is to get there earlier so you miss the after work crowd. Both clerks were very helpful and friendly.

The library has places to sit and read or areas to study. I think the outside landscaping is pretty with all of the plants and vines.

Employees are stuck up. I was unloading my baby from the car and my 7 year old had to use the…read morebathroom, so I told him he could go ahead in and use the bathroom and I'd catch up after I got the stroller unloaded. He came right back out and informed me that the librarian at the desk stopped him on his way in the door and told him he couldn't use the bathroom unless his parents were checking out books. This was a kid, not a homeless man! And I was on my way in just a couple minutes. I've also checked out a chapter book from a different branch that already had very minor water damage to the pages- not a big deal at all. But when I returned it to the Draper location I was sent an email informing me that because I'd returned it in damaged condition I had been charged the full price of the book. It wasn't even my water damage!

Most recent hours posted on the door (I usually google it before driving there just to double check) are 10AM - 1230 PM and also 2 - 5 PM Monday through Friday. The lobby is open weekends to mail letters but if you need a tracking number or to purchase something it's work week only. The parking out front is limited but if it's full you can turn right onto centennial parkway at the light and there's a whole street of parking there and then it's just a short walk back to the post office. Reasonable prices comparable to other delivery services.

The staff are so friendly and helpful to the community and I am so grateful that students have more opportunities to perform and share their talents at the public library. In particular, Andrea Wilkinson, who is the director for the children's programs, was so welcoming and friendly to us at our Christmas recital this week! We can see that she makes a difference in the educational programs for children here!

One can check out telescopes, use 3D printers, get personal meeting rooms and more. The library programa are constant and extremely well put together, catering to kids (reading clubs, parties) to teens (D&D, cosplay) to adults (book clubs, art exhibits). On top of all this, it's beautifully decorated! Only occasional problems are those stemming from people bringing their cell phone conversations into the library and talking out loud.
