I like it hard & she went to town I requested deep tissue, but really liked her incorporation of some Thai massage, which is stretching out the body a bit. The space reminds me of a massage school, with partitions separating spaces. Most folks are mindful of this and keep noise to a minimum. Did not affect my experience. Sarah is a great therapist. She truly helped me with my neck issue. I live real close and she is reallllly fast at replying so it was really nice to get in. I've seen her 2x and it was good both times. However I was going in for therapy and being able to relax. It was hard to do so with all the noise going on. I understand the partial walls- but the lobby radio music on top of Sarah's music on top of the bossman in the back making insurance phone calls was really frustrating. Also those disposable face covers are not comfortable. I know laundry is annoying- but there has to be some better way than those. Not comfty for your face to be on that. Life gets busy and being able to make a slot for some body work- I just wanted to be able to shut my brain off and get in that healing zone. read more

I had the best massage ever today, all thanks to Sarah! As an event planner, my shoulders suffer a lot - not only from the stress, but I'm also constantly typing at my desk and lifting heavy boxes. Incredible Experience. Mahalo to Sarah. I began to experience some discomfort in the earlier am, THU morning (2am) without any signs of complications as to why? Still today, 3 days later don't know why or what I did. So I went to work on THU (6am), began to feel some pain and could not sit or stand for longer than 2 mins without feeling discomfort, nor could I walk for over 10 steps. At 8 am, with increasing discomfort thinking it was a muscle pull or strain, tried to hunt for a physical therapist. Most centers open at 10:00 am, I texted Sarah who responded relatively quickly. She could not get a 10am appt, but offered a 1215am spot, I grabbed it, Arriving, parking was tight, I parked about 50 yards away, which at this time the pain was getting worse. I had to stop 3 times in that short distance, just to get my breath and rest from the pain. Sarah got me on the table and began to massage..Very, very painful as she began to work the area, I was sweating, and was hurting bad. Because of the extreme pain, she turned me around and began stretching me in a few Thai contortionist stretching positions. Un-freaking-believable!! A few moments later, like a paradigm shift, pain vanished after a few moments. I could actually stand, stretch and knew something went right. Later I found it was my "Sciatica Nerve" due to my Piriformis muscle, (i.e. the muscle from your lower spine, running through your butt to your thigh / leg muscles). Later read that this can be a common event and a few pigeon pose exercises are common to help relieve, (google it). The effectiveness, the diagnosis in confirming it was a muscle and stretching was the answer and of course the willingness to fit me in, this visit was amazing. Believe me, the sciatic pain is not joke, scary to think what could be happening. Sarah is a true blessing with gifted talents. I have another quick stretching session today (SAT). Sarah is pretty amazing! First off she's very accommodating on scheduling and sometimes same-day appointment is available. She responded quickly via text! The place is actually behind Goodwill by Kam highway, if you see Best Buy, turn into the little industrial area towards the back, it's fairly easy to find if you follow the GPS, after turning the last left, drive down the parking, it's on you're right side close to the end of the parking. Sarah does wonder, she spent time on finding out about my problematic area and I asked for Shiatsu massage, her pressure is modifiable if you let her know what you can tolerate. The pressure was unbearable at first but I thank her for doing so because after my massage, my entire spine cracked when I got up, soooo therapeutic! I often get massages about twice a month. And before I go to Sarah, I went to my chiropractor's massage therapist. But now I moved to Aiea and luckily I have found Sarah! I have gone to Sarah 3 times for massage. For me, my job requires long hours standing, lifting, moving around and I work out 3-4 times ,too. I found Sarah in a haste as a knot in my back was killing me and I had scheduled a previous appointment at another clinic but there was a mix up on their end and I was desperate. I turned to Yelp and Sarah was one of the only places open past 6pm and she had great reviews so I decided to give it a shot. Called her and she was able to take me in for one hour. Complicating things more - I had shoulder surgery 3 months ago on my right shoulder. The knot killing me - on my left. When I arrived I explained everything to Sarah. She knew exactly where to work on both sides of my back with awesome pressure. She was also careful with my post surgery shoulder - I got a great massage and stretch - which I sorely needed as my shoulder is on its way to being "normal". My knot isn't magically gone, but it's a lot better than when I walked in - definitely manageable now. My surgery shoulder - showed an increased range of motion from when I walked in to post massage. Problem started in my left leg while attempting to train at home. Pulled muscles. Then I started training with coach Rachelle Moi @ the UFC Honolulu in power lifting ( squats, dead lifts, benching) left leg got really tight. I tried to roll out the area especially my IT band with no relief. Found Sarah on yelp with great reviews. Made an appointment 2/2218. First diagnosis and a little history what I do. Then onto the table face down. Sarah started doing her deep massage. Believe me that it was intense. The massage went from my my upper back down to my foot. After the massage I stood up slowly as instructed. There was still a sharp pain in the back of the knee. After laying back down and Sarah working in the hamstring area I stood again. The feeling was that my left leg was in alignment again. She instructed to drink a lot of water as a lot of lactic acid has been released and to take it easy for two days. Today 2/24/18 Saturday the leg is still aligned and is stronger. Sarah explained that the body can be only tight in certain areas which throw off the alignment in the joints. I saw the 5 star ratings and the $50/hr Swedish massage special so I decided to give this place a try. I should've thought twice when Sarah tried to upsell me to a deep tissue massage for $60/hr if I wanted more pressure even BEFORE we went into the room. Don't get me wrong, she's nice and accommodating, but unless you prefer light pressure, this special may not be for you. She asks about the pressure during the treatment and when you ask for more, it's another opportunity to upsell you. Try about 4 times total. I've had Swedish massages before and I've always left relaxed and feeling like I melted. In this case, I cut my 90 min treatment to 60 min (mid-massage) and left with the same aches and an oily body. Next time I'll wait for a spot to open with Makamae at Holistic Therapies or anyone at Nisei. And yes.. I still tipped her cause she was nice. read more

With a lot of tension built up and a lot of stress knots giving me pain and problems for a long time now, I finally decided it was time to do something about it. Found Sarah on Yelp and her reviews looked great. I know for my knots, I need strong, deep pressure and I finally settled on Sarah. Called and made my appointment same day after work quick and easy. I got to her location and headed into the Aiea Medical building. The massage studio is nicely set up. Very clean and quiet. Sarah showed me to the room and I got ready for the massage, not quite knowing what to expect. Sarah is a petite girl and had some doubts whether she would be able to get enough pressure to work my knots and stiffness out. Boy was I happily surprised. Soft hands, but when she asked if the pressure was ok and I told her I wanted deep and very strong pressure, she really got into it and worked every knot. After the kneading, walking, stretching and massaging, I felt all my muscles open up and I can't remember the last time I felt this loose. The next day, my muscles ached a bit from the work out, but I'm less stiff and don't have the knotted up feeling. It's been a long time since I've had a massage and I'm glad I found Sarah on my first try. Because I've been so tense for so long, it's going to take a few more sessions to really loosen all the knots, and that means more sessions with Sarah in the near future!! read more

I was feeling very knotted up in my neck and shoulders and decided to schedule a two hour appointment with Sarah. She is conveniently located in the Aiea Medical Building, on the first floor with ample parking on two levels. She offers great rates, and is able to accommodate varying styles and schedules. Although she has a small frame, Sarah is extremely capable of exerting a lot of pressure and her knowledge of muscle and skeletal structure makes her a great therapist. She is very courteous and professional and always inquires about the room temperature, amount of pressure, or sound level. During her massage, I can actually hear and feel the knots melting away. Due to an old sports injury, my range of motion and flexibility in one limb has reduced, but over the last four visits, Sarah has been able to eliminate my pain and significantly increase my mobility. Sarah provides a very clean, relaxing, and comfortable environment, and her overall service is great. I cannot recommend her highly enough. read more

I got the Thai style massage yesterday and Sarah did an awesome job. She got all my aches and knots out from my back, shoulders and neck. Thai massage is very similar to Japanese shiatsu with lots of stretching at the end of the session. A day after the massage I felt a little bit bruise but it was definitely worth another session back. I would give 5 stars but the a/c shut off if you go later in the day. The place was alright, but the massage was the best! After a couple months giving birth, I really needed a nice massage. I went to a massage place in the mall, but I didn't like it. Until I found Sarah on Yelp. I came to see her last week at Leeward Massage Therapy in Aiea. The place was small, but it's clean. The bathroom was clean too (that's very important for me). Glad The place wasn't too busy when I was there. Otherwise, you could hear other people's conversation in the other rooms. Lol. Sarah was so nice. We talked before the massage started. She asked me if I have any pain on my body that should stay away from, or any tension that needs deeper massage. I told her that after giving birth i feel so exhausted, body aches, and tenderness.
