Crispy Calamari -$7.50 I found the portion a bit small for that price (note: I ate 2 rings before taking the photo)

Was in the area running errands around lunchtime, decided to stop in as I was having a hankering for Ramen. Ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen (with spicy sauce (which is served on the side) as well as the vegetable spring rolls. The springrolls were as expected, crunchy with a side of duck sauce. The ramen was served with its "component parts" separate - the broth was separate from the noodles and other items which included two nice-size pieces of pork, fish cakes, ramen noodles, corn (which I thought was not typical for ramen) mushrooms and a hard-cooked egg etc. The broth was hot (temp) and rich, but was served separately. All in all, the ramen was...okay...not terrible, not great, but okay. Nothing specific I can point to, but I probably would not order ramen here again. Not because it was bad, just didn't fill my ramen craving (maybe I'm just spoiled by Tanpopo in Albany (or becoming a ramen snob?) anyway the place is clean, service was friendly and accommodating. Not inexpensive - this meal was $30.15 with tip, for one person. Anyway, I'd come here again, just not for this ramen...I'd probably order something else for my tastes.

We ate in for lunch today. Country music playing; Clean, open space, friendly and courteous service-cooked to order. Fried dumplings were perfectly pan fried and moist. The shrimp 4 and scallops 5 hibachi was plentiful and very tasty served with miso soup. The even came out to ask how the food was! The yum yum and shumai sauces were sweet. I will recommend and come back for sure!

It's a cafeteria. With a small area on the side for Doordash and Grubhub. 2022 06 04.

Visited June 3022. After opening the front door, and seeing this cafeteria with country music, I initially walked out. But with a fully open kitchen, I could see that this new restaurant is still super clean. And I've been to some very poor sushi restaurants in the Capital region. Maybe this would surprise me. So I turned around to see the decorations consisting of a string of flags and two paper lanterns. And ordered and paid at the counter. No sake, because no liquor license. No hot tea, or any hot drinks, just because. And cold drink selection is limited to bottles in the Pepsi cooler. No dishes. Disposable flatware. Soy sauce in 1 oz solo cups. And cafeteria tray, because no table service. Chutoro, not otoro. No wasabi. Small saba. Non spicy spicy salmon maki. Unagi maki contents are over 80% cucumber. QR code ordering. Doordash ready. Not necessarily a destination "eat-in" experience. But, for average lunch take-away, or gig-type delivery, I guess it will do. At least. That way, you won't have to listen to the juxtaposition of sushi and country music. I probably won't return for quite a while. But I might do a simple take-away or delivery. 2022 06 04.

Excellent and affordable sushi! My girlfriend thought her spicy maki combo was fresh and delicious. I really enjoyed my sushi deluxe combo; the nigiri was perfect. Both sushi meal came with soup and salad for $45 including tip.

    Crab Rangoon

Restaurant is very clean and the employees were nice. I received my food quick. This is more of a to go food place than dine in. The prices are pretty expensive for what you get. The crab Rangoon are extremely small for $1 a piece. I love supporting local places but this one wasn't for me. I don't know how the sushi or ramen is.

    Sushi rolls

We stumbled across this place on our way from Buffalo to Boston. It was very delicious, the staff was friendly and the place was super clean! We ordered hibachi and ramen for the kids and sushi for ourselves. Highly recommend this place!

Spicy shrimp roll and I have no idea roll - but it's mostly lettuce

Then came the pineapple fried rice with pork belly. Savory, caramelized pork belly met bright bursts of pineapple in a perfect sweet-salt balance. Fluffy rice studded with peas, carrots, and ribbons of egg. My three year old son dove in without hesitation, happily scooping forkfuls of rice and pineapple like he had discovered treasure. No negotiations. Just joy. Fifteen minutes later, box in hand, the real event began. Across melting ice. A sharp jaywalk. A cut through the gas station. A full sprint toward the train station as the gates threatened to close and my family waited. It was an unofficial, record-breaking mile fueled entirely by fried rice ambition. Once the cold air finally left my lungs, I cracked open the box. Steam rose into the winter air. The smell alone was victory. I ate every last grain on that train, a triumphant feast earned the hard way. My wife was not impressed with how close I cut it. I, however, stand by the decision. Some meals are worth the sprint.

A tea leaf salad or Lat phat thoat has "Crispy pea, peanut, sesame seed and garlic oil with ground pickle tea leaf, cabbage and tomato." It was a little funky, a bit like kimchi, with a wonderful textural crunch provided by the peanuts. Palata (deep fried layered & flattened dough), commonly served at street food stalls, is reminiscent of scallion pancakes (without the scallion). In this case, it was served with a chicken, potato, and dahl stew. The saltiness of the stew was tamed by the layered and fatty dough. I might skip the chicken dumplings because those were boiled from frozen, store bought items. The pandan dessert, similar to a bubble tea, was an added extra. I'd definitely go again.

Upon entering, the girl behind the counter just stared at us. No greeting. No direction on where to sit. No smile. We assumed it was self seating so we found a booth. She came over, poured our waters, still said nothing. We had about 45 mins until the restaurant closed so I'm unsure of what the cold attitude was for, as there were still 4-5 other patrons there eating as well. My friend is a vegetarian and ordered the veggie dumplings, and I had the same but with meat. Once the plates arrived, the one set in front of me was green, and his not. I figured I would double check to make sure we had the correct ones - I didn't want him to end up eating the meat ones if it could be avoided. Sure enough, the plates were mixed up. Honestly seemed to be done purposefully because it's very clear they are 2 different orders. The texture was chewy/foamy and they also tasted like old grease. Disappointing but we still had soups to look forward to. Our ramen finally arrived and I was hoping it would be the redemption moment of the evening but it wasn't. It really lacked any depth of flavor. Again the meat was chewy instead of tender. More distracting was how we awkwardly felt rushed as the server was shutting off lights and music...again...with at least 15 mins until the kitchen closing time. She seemed annoyed we asked for to go containers. At no point did she check in with us, refill waters, or even crack any resemblance of a smile. I used to love this little spot when I was in college. It was cozy, delicious, inviting. Couldn't have had more of the opposite experience this time around! And for this reason I would not return. I will travel to Colonie for Kuma Ani for better food and MUCH better service. TLDR; this place is extremely overrated

I loved all 15 courses, each one beautiful and delicious. I do wish that the experience was longer though. $200 for a one hour meal is a little crazy. I would have enjoyed a slower down version of the experience more. The drinks were great as well and the sushi chefs were artists at their craft.
