HOW ARE THESE PEOPLE STILL IN BUSINESS!?! I'm reading all of these really horrible reviews and experiences with UBER and CLEARLY they care or pretend to care about customer satisfaction! Not once have they responded to any of these reviews. And their responses on their website are just as bad as not responding at all! They are horribly canned and the majority of the time, what they respond with doesn't even come close to matching up with your complaint. They have the WORST website ever! You can barely navigate through it. There is NO NUMBER to call and they hide the email form on their website so much that you nearly give up trying to find it. I need to use UBER practically every day and NOT ONCE has a single ride ever happened without a problem. And this flat fare rate for uberX and uberPOOL is TOTAL SCAM!! I bought the $20 package for 20 rides at a flat rate and NOT ONCE has the flat rate been applied. After EVERY SINGLE RIDE, I have to get online and go nag them to fix the rate. They it takes DAYS for them to refund the difference to me. I remember when uber first came to Seattle - they were pretty alright. Now? UBER REALLY SUCKS and they have absolutely ZERO customer support! And they care absolutely nothing about customer satisfaction. Beware of accepting special deals and coupons! They offer them when they know there will be high demand and can lock you in to paying ridiculously high surge prices! A trip that should have cost us only $20 ended up costing almost $90 because of their sneaky "surge" charges. I've used uber twice and have gotten ripped off both times. I was in an Uber and in a car accident when I was in Philadelphia a few weeks ago. Although the accident was minor and there was no damage to the drivers car, because THE DRIVER didn't get the information from the car who hit us...the insurance will not commit to my treatments. They want me to go through MY insurance, I wasn't even driving!!! I've had a Chiro in Philadelphia and Seattle both report my whiplash injuries!! We got a ride from a guy named Joseph (Toyota Prius), later to find out he lied about an 'incident' that required his car to get cleaned, charging us an additional $50! I'm currently waiting to see if Uber Support will clear this situation up because if they don't, we will never use them again-which will be unfortunate, as they have been our 'go to' transportation for a while. This is only my second review, but I felt the need to spread the word, I'm so angry. I've deleted your app. A driver rated me a 4. I only have a handful of rides. I am always at the pick up zone before the car arrives, i am nice to the driver and always tip 20%+. We had a complete garbage experience recently with Uber. We live very close to the airport and have used various services to get there for flights of all kinds. This last time we used Uber Black. It said our driver would show up in 8 minutes. At the 20 minute mark, he called to say he would be there in five minutes. Five minutes later he was nowhere to be found. Finally, 30 minutes after the projected arrival time, he called again to ask where we were because he had gone to the wrong address. I'm standing out on the street and see him approaching. No apology. No recompense. He tells us a completely BS story about why he went to a completely wrong address, which didn't match the direction I saw him approach from, at all. We'll think twice about using Uber again. read more

Friend ordered an Uber, my dog got past me as I was letting the dog walker out of the house, she took off running towards my friend and wanted to go for a ride. The freaking Uber Driver said "If you can't even handle a puppy, HOW DO YOU EXPECT TO HAVE CHILDREN," then he said it again to my friend when he got into the car. I can't believe (1) that it is anyone's business but my own whether or not I choose to have children and (2) that he felt the need to say that. He should be fired. Last night was my first Uber experience, and it was great. Your experience honestly depends on who's your driver. We had a great driver, Victor. He was an older, brown man with a beard. He was really kind, and wasn't overbearing or anything. The thing that really stood out was that when I left his car I dropped my wallet, and he brought it back to me. We were in capital hill on a Saturday night, and Victor parked his car in that crazy traffic, got out and waked over to hand me my wallet. I was determined to not go out on NYE this year, but at the last minute I decided to go see my boyfriend who was working downtown. I called for a cab at 11:00 p.m. and was told it would be at least an hour before one could arrive, which wouldn't work since I wanted to get to my destination before midnight. I remembered seeing something about Uber and decided to give it a try. I ordered Uber and 9 minutes later Ammanuel was at my place! He was very friendly, the car was nice and he got me to where I was going in a timely manner! The prices were a little more expensive than normal because of NYE, but I will use Uber again! read more

Called an SUV uber to take me, my boyfriend and a few friends to catch a sunset cruise I chartered for a large group. We had food, wine and beer with us and needed to be at the boat by a certain time. The uber driver called me when he thought he was at my building. He wasn't but when I tried to give him further direction he hung up on me and 'canceled' my trip. I then got a receipt for the ride for $34. So basically this jerk driver picked up someone else and charged my card. Thankfully, Uber issued a refund the next day to me. We made to the boat barely on time after my friend called lift. I doubt I'll be using Uber anything again. (I used to use their lunch app too). I can't believe how upsetting it is to wait 10 minutes for a car just for the driver to cancel on you when he is close. After dealing with the staggeringly unreliable, dismissive and rude dispatch and drivers at Yellow Cab, Uber is a godsend. I appreciate Orange Cab, but their wait times can be atrocious. I've used Uber 15-20 times over the last six months and I'm wholeheartedly impressed. I've never waited more than 15 minutes, the drivers are respectful, the vehicles are clean and it is a remarkable way to call a car for someone else, too. Moreover so low to ground you can't see the sights over the crowds on the streets. WE DONT RECCOMEND "Uber X" NOR A PRIUS Taxi" FOR MORE THAN 2 PASSAGERS OR 1 WITH LUGGAGE, to tjhe airport , especially NOT for sightseeing. We had friends visiting 2017 Memorial weekend. TL of 7 of us, we mostly road in a Honda Pilot for 11 rides. This saved over $30-40 for mileage & parking on ea trip, saving $5-25 a ride. As a CPA, I calculated a saving of $278 & over 3 hours of walking. It only took a minute or two for Uber to pick us up at these highly crowded events, especially at the game. So we got more time to do things and talk to friends. Instead of hunting all over for $20 parking garages, miles away from the events. Best of all our guest paid for all of it. ;) So take this recommendations to use Uber XL & door to door pickup for to sightseeing trips, games, Ferry, Train & airport to save U both time and $$, best of all the plant. read more

I was picked up at my house and taken to the airport. The driver did not want to pull into the driveway despite going to the airport with my wife and two very big bags. The problem is that I was charged a "wait time" of 64 cents, he was at the wrong house. I was also charged an additional charge of $3.60 for tolls. I don't recall any tolls on I-5 but I was taken for an additional 4.24. Not much money but I paid a lot of money for a 41 minute ride to the airport. Not a happy customer read more

i have used Uber a handful of times and typically it is a great service. love the idea behind it. the last time i did use Uber was quite disappointing as i was charged nearly double what i should have as the gentleman was lost for 20 minutes finding the area somehow (even with his GPS) and it was more than 50 dollars for a ride that was less than 10 minutes. tried reaching out to the Seattle rep Travis, and other than the canned response he sent, no help to sort this out. really disappointing for a company that most of their contract drivers, who are usually so nice, that the direct employees cant be a bit more responsive to a simple issue like this. read more

I highly do not recommend Uber to anyone. I will be using lyft here on out after having to deal with Uber. I had an extremely rude Uber driver that charged a $150 cleaning fee for spilling a tiny bit of Gatorade on their floor. After spending the WHOLE day trying to contact Uber I got it down to $80 which is still so ridiculous especially since their own policy says that kind of incident would be charged $20. Which is still so expensive for a small spill of Gatorade. It does not help one bit that Uber does not have a customer service phone number to contact, so if anything goes wrong with your trip it's nearly impossible to fix things through Uber. You have to send them an email through the app and they dictate when you can and can't reply to their responses. This whole experience has been so stressful and unfair and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through it. read more

i know it may be too early to write a review on uber service since i just started using this app but i would just like to share my experience of my last two trips. the first trip was from home to work in the morning, with distance around 10-12 blocks away or 15 mins walk, the driver was prompt and nice. i paid around 4 bucks without having to tip him. i offered but he just told me not to worry about it. the second trip was from home to my bf's house by alderwood mall, i did not think anyone would wanna drive me up north that far, but i had received a pick up confirmation right then saying that my driver would arrive in one minute and he actually did!! the fare was supposed to be between $29-40 but I had to cancel the trip before we got on i5 since bf will come over to my place instead. i thought i would be charged for the whole fare which might have been fine too since i cancelled right in the middle of the trip but he only charged me $10.14 which i was.more than happy to pay. again, i asked if i could leave him tip but he refused. he said with uber, you dont need to tip drivers. instead, they would rather appreciate your rating their service and by far, i rated 5x. oh, and my driver on the second trip had a company with him. i think the guy sitting next to him might have owned this car, and probably this uber account but he was just put his friend on training by driving for me. it was no biggie but not sure if anyone would be comfortable with that. all in all, the car seemed nice, clean and decent. so i rate uber 5x based on my happy experiences with them and unpleasant ones with yellowcabs. read more

What a good first two experiences with uber. The first driver checked our destination before we left. He did make a few wrong turns but we ultimately got to the location. It seems to be much cheaper than a cab. I would definitely choose über over a taxi. read more

This review is not for the drivers, who are generally excellent and very polite. This poor review is for the absolute lack of Customer Support. Any attempt to contact support is met with a stock e-mail response that has no value whatsoever. It is a fairly blatant, and successful, attempt to avoid contact with the riders. With the new surge pricing, the Uber circus at the airport, and absolute lack of customer support I have to suggest that Lyft is looking like a better choice read more

This review is not about the Uber taxi service. I have no complaints about that. My complaint is the Uber Gift cards. I had bought three $50.00 gift cards as gifts but decided to use them myself Two of them downloaded to my account, but the third one did not. It said it was already used on my other account. OK.. Lets see, I had to scratch off the code number myself, I have no other account, nobody had access to these cards (like I said I scratched off the code number myself.) After many emails back and forth to Uber they still would not listen to me. They said I had already used it. Well, I finally got burnt out trying to get MY $50.00 back. I still have the card and I get pissed every time I see it. So let this be a warning to not buy any gift cards from Uber. read more

Uber is the only way to go in Seattle. I have never waited more than 5 minutes for a car (even on New Year's Eve). Yes, you do pay more at busy times like holidays but you cannot beat the fast, reliable and easy service they offer. All of my drivers have been super nice and polite and I have not had one bad ride. I'm a usually a Lyft person in a general sense. My experience with Uber is reconfirming my solid stance with Lyft. My friends here use Uber because it's cheaper but I side with quality. When I order a private vehicle I expect door to door pick up and drop off, not round the corner and some what close to your destination drop off. Maybe Uber drivers get confused between pool and X and expect everyone to get picked up and dropped off at their convenience even though there are no existing road conditions that cause problems. One of my last Uber rides, the driver tried to drop us off five blocks down from our destination and attempted to get us to change the destination on the app. He was in the wrong place, trying to drop us off on the wrong block. What he should of done was drop us off at the address we requested on the app. I'm pretty sure that was just a scam so he'd get paid per minute and mile like a regular taxi. Once you set a destination and need to change the destination, customers get charged a differently. Maybe it wasn't a scam and the man was a new driver or maybe just an idiot. read more

Well let me start off by saying I am not a user of Uber in anyway. I have never used Uber and I don't have an Uber account. That said, I am a resident of Seattle and I walk my dog everyday around the city. I see many Uber and Lyft cars and for the most part have never seen a bad experience, until yesterday. I was walking my dog on Mercer and Westlake when I was at the stop light. A black sedan pulled up, identified by its Uber sign in the window, and the door opened. Smoke poured out and a huge wave of pot smell hit everyone there. While I have zero issues with pot use, I do draw the line at driving while high. I find this action, that an Uber driver and its passengers smoking pot while driving abhorrent. What you do on your own time is none of my business, but engaging in an activity that is not only illegal ( driving while high ) but dangerous to everyone on the road and those just walking by. I contacted Uber and there flippant response was, if you're not an Uber user, they could care less what you had to say. I was floored by the response and guess it's just par for the course they wouldn't care, but I would think they would at least not blow it off just because I'm not an Uber customer. So take what you want from my observation, but I'll just stay away from using Uber if I ever get the urge. read more

I have had nothing but great experiences with Uber. I have used it 6 times, each time I had a great driver, fast arrival to pick me up and drop off was quick too. My drivers knew the locations of where I needed to go. I love the app where you can see how long it will take to get a town car to you, who your driver is (pic too!), license plate # of the town car coming to get you AND all payments are done thru their app which includes tip. Also, a text straight to your phone telling you that you your "town car has arrived" to pick you up. Love this service, bye bye yellow cab! read more
