I had my 12 year old twins' birthday party here and it was amazing! The staff was so organized and helpful - so much so that I really didn't have to worry about anything leading up to the party. Once the party began, we were lucky enough to have 3 amazing coaches facilitating and helping all of the kids to make sure everyone had a great time. The whole eventwas incredibly well organized, and the staff continued to check in with me to see if there was anything else they could do to help. A wall-to-wall gym of enjoyable, amusing and family centered Rock Climbing entertainment + 2 hour FREE Rope Climbing classes with my membership. Ubergrippen, (\ubr-rp-n\ n.) originally is German basically defines itself as "The intense feeling of relief when finding a jug, or good hand-hold, after a difficult crux." This indoor climbing crag has 2 locations in Denver & Castle Rock, Colorado. It has 2,000 sq. ft. of climbing wall with beginner & advanced features, plus a kids' area & yoga classes. I got a tour only a week ago by a sweet guy named Scott and he showed me all the rope climbing sections, the bouldering and the gym. There are lots of kid friendly climbing and lots of opportunities for families to climb together!! I love that UberGrippen has camps and programs to help rope climbers meet their very best potential. I am a huge fan, I brought hubby along with his brother and we enjoyed a bit of Bouldering in the second floor; locker rooms are still currently down due to Covid. We enjoyed the surroundings of everyone's activeness. I regret getting a full on membership, because I was really looking forward to Bouldering, and they don't have anything else, other than the upstairs which was very crammed and super busy. They didn't have a range of beginner/ intermediate bouldering levels either and I swear I got claustrophobic when I took Nick there. I really enjoyed the commute of the location, seemed reasonable. They ripped me off. I went to the Castle Rock location and expressed interest in signing my daughter up for an already full class so they kindly put her on a waitlist. Later I get an email saying slots were available and to sign up so I did. Nowhere in the email or the checkout process was there any mention that the location I was signing up for wasn't the Castle Rock one (they have multiple locations). Once I received the receipt it said 'Denver' (not even then does it say that this was the location of the class, but with some digging I realized that wasn't just their headquarters but was referring to the class itself.) I requested a refund exactly 8 minutes after checkout and was told they would keep $50 as a non-refundable fee. Given their obfuscation of what I was signing up for, I consider this business fraud. I will be fighting this fee and will let you know how it goes. read more

This place was awesome. We left Earth Treks in Englewood one day because of bad customer service. I talked to a guy named Brian on the phone and Stewy at the facility was very helpful and helped us learn how to do belays and taught me and my 9 year old nephew who had never been. We had a blast. I was definitely rusty but had a great time and they gave us a tour of the facility and recommended walls for us to do. This place over Earth Treks any day. The customer service was on point and they were so kind and didn't make you feel like an inconvenience when you asked questions or asked for a tutorial on anything. Definitely going back. read more

If I had more discretionary time I would climb somewhere else. I am a member here because it's a ten minute drive and my best chance of climbing is to sneak away for an hour during the day. Two main disappointments. 1. Several of the climbs - especially autobelays - don't start until 5 feet off the ground. All the climbs on that rope use the same starting holds. If you're going to skimp on one-sixth of a route, can you discount me one-sixth of my dues? Makes the climb less interesting and seems lazy. 2. I have a toddler and one day I hope he joins a climbing league or attends a camp. That said, the kids groups overrun the place during the day. Probably necessary from profitability standpoint but you've got ten 10 year olds hogging the autobelays. Can you require that they learn to belay each other, limit them to certain routes, make them take turns, or add more autobelays? read more

I've never climbed before, so I don't know what other climbing gyms are like. In light of that, my experience here was great. I took the beginners class (included with a membership) that introduced me to the important knots for climbing. You get the needed equipment included with your first class (harness, shoes, belaying carabineers) although you can bring your own if you have it. If you aren't sure about gear, they have daily and monthly rentals while you figure it out. They've said that the routes will be getting changed regularly so it never gets stale, and they have some impressively challenging looking ones (I'll need a few years to work up to some of them). The staff that I've interacted with have all been very friendly. I've talked to them a few times outside of Ubergrippen (usually at Cheluna trivia night) and they've stated that becoming a part of the local community is really important to them. I'm really excited that they came to this community and I'm excited about having them here for a long time to come. read more

Had so much fun. Staff was very knowledgeable and so nice! Fox assisted us with how to put on the equipment and gave us a tour of the place and explained what the numbers on the signs for each wall meant. Small but decent and climbing gym. Great clubs and camps for young beginners. Camps are directed by the fun and talented Stewie, but not much to offer after that age for kids who are a bit older. They have a good youth competitive team although the coach is not the easiest person to get along with, and she doesn't routinely return calls/emails. read more

The only feedback is a lack of range from kids beginner to intermediate/advanced. It's one or the other. I'm still tackling 5.8s, wish there were more at that skill level. read more

Really neat place to come with the family! The staff is super friendly and helpful. They take you on a complete tour and show you how to use the self climbing systems. I was very impressed by the staff and climbing offered at the gym! Everyone was very respectful of the COVID regulations and made me feel very comfortable as if I was a regular member. The gym is clean with friendly reminders about social distancing throughout the floor. Also has a cool training area in the Boulder section. I really appreciated the community vibe and it felt just like climbing with friends from my hometown. Highly recommend checking out this gym and talking with the experienced staff. I've been a member here for over a year and find the gym to be a bit of a paradox. The facilities are excellent, I think the route setting is creative and challenging for bouldering and top rope, and I love the traditional fitness area. You just kind of have to accept that this gym is packed with kids almost every week night and on weekend. This is fine when it's the gym's own teams, those kids are respectful and safe climbers and there are always coaches around. But after consecutive days of bouldering and nearly falling on unattended children, I think I'm probably going to cancel my membership. Too often there are young kids running around the bouldering area with parents that don't know climbing etiquette or safety looking on without doing anything. I explained this to the UG staff at the font desk and suggested they keep an employee upstairs at all times (as there are always plenty of staff working, event on the weekends) and I felt like I was brushed off. I was told to report behavior to front desk right away or educate the children or parents myself. Sometimes I'm comfortable doing that, but I shouldn't be paying $80 a month and having to educate guests on proper climbing safety. Guests with young children should have to go through a thorough orientation and they need to know that not following rules doesn't just put their kids at risk, it affects the safety of other climbers. read more

This place is pretty big and offers a lot of different activities! In addition to the walls (of which some are unique and have baby heads and LEGO pieces), they have 10 auto belay walls, bouldering walls, gym equipment, manual treadmill, climbing rope, rings, etc. it's all a bunch of fun! Great place for kids and adults! It's a bit pricey at $22 per day... but that's sadly pretty normal for rock climbing gyms! We would definitely come back again! read more

Let me start by saying I've never rock climbed anything other than theme park walls in my life. I came here because my brother is really into rock climbing and I wanted to get into shape. I'm by no means a little person. I was super excited to try this place, but super scared because I know I'm not the body shape or athletically advanced. When I say the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable I mean it. Everyone loves rock climbing and is excited you're getting into a sport they love. They will help you if you need help and guide you so you don't hurt yourself. The people in this gym are extremely friendly as well I've had great conversations with other members and they've told me great ways to stretch and prepare myself for the soreness to come with conditioning your body building the strength and stamina. I've fallen in love with this sport and the great people who promote and support it are such beautiful genuine humans this place is a great place to start or to advance yourself. The walls are constantly changing and they have everything from extreme beginners like myself to experts that have been doing this for years. Regardless it's a good time. read more

I went here while passing through Denver and in need of a workout. I chose this place because it was closer than any of the other area climbing gyms to the Airbnb I was staying at. I used the bouldering area, hangboards and fitness area. Pros: it was a really nice and clean facility, staff were friendly, they had a good bouldering space with a good variety of problems, both beastmaker hangboards, a pegboard and systems boards, and a good general fitness space. Cons: the hangboards were mounted too high for my reach and there was literally nothing I could find to stand on other than a plyo box, which was just too tall. Also, it was a hot day and it got pretty hot up in the bouldering area. I didn't see a fan or anything to turn on, but maybe a fan would help? read more

Great neighborhood climbing gym. We joined the other day and are happy with how close it is to our house! They have a great selection of routes and the bouldering is not too busy yet! For someone with kids, they sure did design the gym to be kid-friendly as well. The only downside: it is way too hot and they don't crank up the music like they do at Movement. This gym is cheaper than some of the others for a day pass, which is definitely a plus. But, it had a pretty small bouldering area without very creative route setting. It was also HOT. Like - very warm. Finally - and maybe this is just a personal thing - there were warning signs everywhere. Stuff like, "Don't teach your friends how to climb here." It just made for a kind of unwelcoming, unfriendly vibe. There weren't that many people climbing and it didn't feel like a community. read more
