Had an iPhone (hand-me-down from son) that wouldn't charge. Took it to uBreakiFix in South Park Meadows. Front desk masked and very helpful - but I've now forgotten his name. He looked up price of a new battery and offered to try using one of their charging cords to see if it was something less expensive. He took a few minutes, came back out and said it's charging - pocket lint kept it from making connection to charge. I was so incredibly surprised with the service I received from Andrew. He told me straight up it would be about an hour and a half then, in about 45 minuets, he handed my iPhone back better than new! His professionalism was very welcoming and his attention to customers was outstanding. I waited in the lobby and witnessed first hand his interaction with a women who had a very difficult problem with her phone. She also spoke no english. Aaron didn't know I had taken my phone to two other phone repair shops earlier that day and his quote was still by far the most reasonable. And the 6 month warranty on the work to boot? Sold. He even went ahead and fixed the port cover that had been non-existent for months, for free because "of my wait" which, by the way, was only one hour! With six phones ahead of mine. We've used ubreak I Fix a number of times with different members of my family. My worst was a pretty bad virus which was cleaned up & returned the next day. Agent was kind & courteous & definitely knew what he was doing to clean up that mess. Today I brought my granddaughter there with the glass shattered on the face of her phone. I brought in my phone for a screen repair on 7/20 and they temporarily fixed the screen, but took out essential parts to the phone. It stopped working a day later. I brought it back in and was told it was covered under warranty but I had to take it to a different location to get it fixed because they didn't have the parts. That location had me come back the next day because he manager had to approve it and he was out. I bring it back, and am told that they don't have the parts, but they'll be there Thursday and I can get it fixed. I never get a call, so I call Sunday and am told the parts are here but the tech is not and to come in Wednesday. I came in Wednesday and am told the parts are not in and that they'll have to order them. I leave and call back and am told that they will be there Friday. I tell them if they can't fix it then that I would like a refund. I'm told this is possible. The phone is brought in today, and the part still is not in and they deny a refund. This place is a scam. When my phone was given back to me, the touch screen button wasn't working correctly, so they went right away and put another screen on! Brought my grandson's tablet to get the screen fixed. They were kind, and helpful. Yes I agreed to the $140.73 I trusted them to change the broken screen. I didn't agree for the technician to break the home button and it taking longer to fix than it should have. When I dropped it off on Saturday, we discussed what was to be done, and the time frame it would take. It was ready for pick up on Sunday. When I went to turn the table on, it didn't turn on I handed it back to him and he said I broke the home button, I'll have to order the part and it should be ready by Tuesday (10.29.19) I called and spoke to Brian, he said it wasn't ready, that the part would have to be OVERNIGHTED and will be here tomorrow (10.30.19). This upset me, I was told Sunday (10.27.19) that the part would be there Today (10.29.19) and I asked if I would be compensated because my grandson is autistic and non verbal and he depends on that tablet to communication. He said that's no problem we'll work something out. FINE, when I called to check status today, I was told that they could put a black button on it. A) the tablet only needed the screen repaired NOT the home button B) it was not my fault that the home button was broken and not only broken but now, it has lost it's functionality of using the fingerprint as security. C) I was told it would be finished today 10.29.19. When I called to check status, I was told they had a black button (which clearly my grandsons tablet had a white button) but if I wanted it today that he could put the black button on. Anyway, per Timothy, the only compensation would be the overnight fee of $20.00 or they would put the black button on and give me $20.00 this was unacceptable, but fine, I need the tablet fixed and with it looking as what I took it in at. Cory fixed my Bitlocker issue! I was locked out of my Dell laptop computer after I allowed routine updates on it. I'm pretty sure it was a Microsoft update that triggered this Bitlocker issue. After a Google search, I learned that most people have had to wipe their computer and reset factory settings when they got this Bitlocker blue screen. My friend suggests Mozy Home for automatic backups going forward to avoid being in this situation ever again. Cory figured out that Bitlocker is automatically enabled when you connect your Microsoft account on the computer, which Windows 10 pushes you aggressively to do. Even though it was automatically enabled, I was never prompted about it or given the Bitlocker Key. The Key is what the blue screen demands you provide, holding your computer hostage until you enter it. Thankfully, Cory was persistent and determined, and was able to fix it so I could get back into my computer again. Feeling so grateful!! read more

Complete incompetence !! I'm bad with names so I will describe each person involved in this unprofessional, and bang up job that was just done to my phone .... most of my terrible experience falls on the manager of this store but it was a group effort. I initially called and the guy with the beard said to come in at 10am and he would reserve a part. He did just that. Was polite, friendly and professional My phone was fixed and I left. Upon making my first call on this phone I noticed it was super sensitive ... if my face was near the phone it would hang up, make other calls, FaceTime etc. I'm assuming the test the phones going out to make sure everything is working accordingly but nothing was tested .... I call the bearded guy answers. Still g etc professional. He asks me to come in. I do next morning. He checks it and says the sensor is shot. He looks for a part and is trying to repair it for free which was appreciated since I already spent 160 or so on repair and a new phone case there. He's unable to find a part to fix it and the other guy at this location (the very friendly one) says to call the next day at noon to check to see if parts came in because the don't have them. The next day I am on a call and it hangs up on my call. Instead of calling I just drive over there out of frustration. The friendly guy is there .. he checks with the manager and the manager is busy so he says come on tomorrow at 10am. Let me address another major issue .. this is all happening on work days. I have a job, in sales! I first need my phone and secondly am literally al moving things around to keep driving to this location which is pretty far from me. (About 30 min away) So the next day I move things around and come in at 10am as requested. I've now driven over there 4 time. The little manager comes out and first attempts to charge me for this after I've not only spent as much as I have but they've time sucked 3 of my days (one day was my choice to drive over). He then says to look at it from his perspective ... ok. You made a customer drive over here 3 times .. didn't check their phone when they left and are wasting so much time ! But WAIT!! It gets so much better .. then the manager says they don't have the parts and the friendly guy shouldn't have asked me to drive over at 10am and they have no idea what when they will get the parts and they will let me know when... no time given just a big good luck trying to do sales with a phone we messed up .. also no sorry for wasting so many days ... it's been about a week now.. now calls .. I also emailed them to let them know how frustrated I was and no response ..... the phone fix places are kind of a rip off anyways because you're paying over $100 to basically replace glass but when it gets like this specific branch and they've left your phone unable to use.. wasted 3 work days and let you go without any idea when they would ever have parts again. I mean this place should be shut down.. unprofessional is a very mild adjective to use here ... I will say this .. the beaded guy was very professional aside from not fully checking my phone on it's way out .. the friendly guy was fine aside from wasting an entire day of my life by asking me to come in at 10am for literally no reason.. I place all of this on the manager who was unhelpful, not apologetic and literally left me with an unstable phone .. since a phone is such an important part of our day to day lives and especially mine in sales, I will continue to report this unprofessional branch on every avenue possible until this is fixed. This kind of incompetence should not be allowed.. Update as of June 6... phone is having issues in other ways as well.. I am a pro at breaking my screen. I have had many screens fixed with NO issues. I went to fix my screen while my niece was in school one day. They told me they could do it in an hour. Great. They did it in an hour however I had to return 4 times the SAME day. First the home button didn't work. Then I left and realized the sound on my phone was no longer working, so unless I was connected to my car or on speaker I couldn't hear a thing. Then once that was fixed my calls where very staticky. I was told that I'd get a discount since I had to return but that never happen. Ill still be returning because my screen no longer dims or turns off during calls. Goto the mall and get ur phone fixed. They take 15 mins and you won't have more issues when you leave. DO NOT TAKE UR DEVICES HERE!!!!!!!! read more

Another fine and fast repair job. I brought in a dead BlackBerry PRIV and by mid afternoon it was ready to text, browse and make calls again. I drove in from Central Austin, meaning, I could have left it with a whole bunch of fix-it places within a mile of me. Simple truth, the staff at this particular uBiF are tremendous. My phone stopped charging completely and ofcourse eventually died. I took it in on the 15th a little before noon. I explained about the charge and that I more than likely needed a new port as everything else is working properly. They said b/c of the previous water damage they would need to do a diag. Give them a couple of days to get it done and once they have they can either try to salvage the charge port that was there and if they couldn't they could go on and replace it. And that shouldn't be a problem b/c they had my charge port in store so they wouldn't have to order it. Great! I left w/o a phone but hopeful that it would only be through the weekend. I called that Monday (from work as I don't have another phone) and was basically told they're still looking into it and to give em a call back at a later time. Ok, so about Wednesday I asked. Yeah that'd be good and they should be able to let me know. I went in after work on Wednesday and met with the guy who's fixing my phone. He said they had noticed a little bit of corrosion from the previous water damage so they cleaned that up. That he noticed the port was a little loose so he was going to try soddering it to tighten it up and hopefully he wouldn't have to replace the port. He said he port looked pretty good and he was getting some connectivity but it was intermittent like I'd described so he'd give it a shot he just needed more time. If the sodder didn't work he'd just replace the port but it wouldn't be a delay b/c they had mine in the store. OK. I wasn't ecstatic but, as long as I was getting my phone fixed. I let the repair ride for a while and gave them a call at some point the next week. I was told the guy working on my phone had a personal emergency and had to leave town and his notes on my device were sparce so he (the guy I'm speaking with) wasn't comfortable attempting to finish the repair on his own. He said "It's not an ideal situation, but..." Yeah. He then says the guy should be back and my phone should be repaired by Sunday (I believe this was a Friday) so just to come in on Sunday and pick it up. Well, I don't have a car. I usually walk from my apartment by Akins Highschool into southpark meadows. When Sunday came I thought, I really don't want to walk in this heat all the way over there just to be told my phone's not ready. I decided to go after work on Monday. I emailed the tech working on my phone while I was at work asking on the progress of my phone. He emailed back a few hours later saying he was going to work on it but that if he couldn't have it fixed by the end of my work day he'd deem it unrepairable b/c of the motherboard and suggest I buy a new phone. I just sat there staring at the email thinking uhhhh come again? I went into the store after work and told them I was there to pick up my phone. A guy (not the tech who was working on it) brought my phone saying it was unrepairable due to the motherboard. I said I didn't know what that had to do with me just wanting a chargeport but in any event give me my phone. He then asked if I wanted them to order my charge port. My head almost exploded!! But I remained collected and told him no I'd be taking my phone somewhere else. I was so angry I almost couldn't sign the paper that they were releasing my phone to me! I left that store knowing full well where I was heading. Luckily, during one of the times I was waiting in the store I struck up a conversation with a guy who was waiting for his phone. He got his phone back with the explanation that his phone was unrepairable. Him and I walked out together and he showed me that when he brought his phone in (for a broken screen if I remember correctly) that the screen still worked. But now it was completely black. He was a bit upset that it seemed (he felt) they had actually made the problem worse. This was a trend I'd noticed at times while waiting in the store. Once, I walked in and there was a girl with her boyfriend and she was explaining that there was a new issue with her iphone that wasn't there before she'd brought it in for repair. The guy behind the counter responded to her concern by saying "if you're insinuating we broke your phone we didn't. That's a problem with the manufacturer. It's a manufacturer defect with your generation of phone". She couldn't seem to wrap her mind around how it's a manufacturer's defect but was working so she left. In short, don't come here. While my sequence of events may be off I KNOW they had my phone from the 15th-25th(so long my mom sent the cops to my house on a welfare check today no joke) and I'm left with my phone (now operable thanks to advice from CPR) that keeps saying no SIM card found even though it's in the port, hard to push power and volume buttons, distorted speaker sound and something I'm hoping is tech tape inside the camera. Do yourself a favor and go to Cell Phone Repair on the other side of SPM. They're fair, quick, affordable and actually want to help. read more

If you plan to have a repair with these guys, I recommend you only work with them if parts are in stock or if you don't need access to you device for a few weeks. I have a note 3 (I know, very old) that needed a screen repair. They suggested the part would come in 24 to 48 hours. I asked how often parts arrived late and was told it's only happened once. So I paid the deposit, expecting to drop off the phone two days later (it was a Saturday). I called before driving over and surprise, surprise the part hadn't showed up. It did finally show up a week later (the next Saturday), so I dropped off on a Tuesday. The tech said two hours for the repair at noon, so I said I'd pick it up at 5pm. When I got there, it was not ready. He said he had prioritized based on me picking it up after work at 5. Guess what dude, you did not prioritize well. Not sure if a mall kiosk would have similar service, but they are probably cheaper. They did give me a $10 discount, which was nice, but I did make an extra trip that took 40 minutes round trip. I would prefer to spend the $10 to not make that trip. read more

Really pleased with the caliber of people that work at this shop! I first went to another location after already knowing what the drill was at the mac store ....these guys had a much better pricing model, had a nice way of letting you know the possible outcomes and costs but conveying in a way where they had your best interests and wallet in mind. It took a while, but really it was within what they projected and I had great continuity of service when I called to get updates.
