Called here midday on a Sunday to inquire about availability of an iPad screen...they were somewhat short with me, but insisted that they had it. I proceeded to drive over there only to find the trailer all locked up. Their neighbors, Ziki, said they hadn't been in all day. I called again and was told that their 'other locations' had the screen. They rattled off the addresses and promptly hung up. When I went to find them on the map, the locations provided did not have the same name, but rather 1up Repairs. Why not proactively manage this situation instead of letting people fumble through the time trap they've set? Lame. read more

I was visiting a friend in Austin and accidentally dropped my phone and it hit exactly where the glass cover wasn't covering. Needless to say, the spidering on my phone screen sent me into a frenzy. I gave iFix a call and they were able to take my phone right away. They didn't have a long wait so it was about a half-hour for them to remove the screen and put a new one in. The screen looked perfect. The only thing to note is that for a while after the change, I would get a pop-up saying that the iPhone was not able to verify the screen was an apple product. However, this went away in about a week. To get my iPhone 11 screen fixed and a new glass screen protector it was about $130 which was incredibly worth it and saved me from worrying the rest of my trip. read more

Honest and awesome! I had a phone "repaired" at another shop. The original issue was the screen wouldn't turn on. They supposedly fixed it and it happened again the next day. I took it back to the same place and they kept it for a week awaiting parts. It was supposedly fixed again. However the home button and front camera now didn't work. So, I called iFix and Taylor (spelling???) said to bring it down to take a look. He told me over the phone what it may be, but said he needed to see the phone to confirm. He confirmed parts were on hand also. When I arrived he confirmed the two items weren't working (hadn't opened the phone yet), and quoted me a very reasonable price to replace those two items that didn't work. I left the phone and came back in about an hour. Guess what?! The hack that worked on my phone before never connected the home button or camera (don't remember the actual part names)! iFix could have charged me the full price and I would have never known the difference. However he was honest and told me that things just needed to be connected correctly inside. No charge. Phone fixed. Phone works great and I'm thankful. read more

Terrible customer service. I wish I would have listened to the reviews. I bought a supposedly new battery on Tuesday. It kept shutting off on me every single day right around 50-55%. It's Saturday. I go back and tell him the issue. First thing he says is "oh well." But this wasn't even in a joking manner. You could tell this guy just didn't give a crap. He was rubbing his eyes and slamming his glasses like it was my fault the new battery I purchased from them was not working. I was livid. Said it would be a hour before I could get it back with a new battery. I wish I could just get my money back. Awful. Let's hope that battery number two works. I have a feeling it Updated (4/26/18): battery is so-so but my GPS hasn't worked since I got the new batteries. I thought it was the apps. I reset my phone. Nothing works. So I'm going to Taiwan tomorrow with a battery that has a battery health life of 80% (way better than the first battery I was given) and a not working gps. Yay... read more

If I could I would rate this place 0 stars! 2 weeks ago I got my screen replaced by them and they use the cheapest screens they can find. After my phone was fixed I bought a otter case to protect it just in case I dropped it. Even with out time dropping it the screen cracked pretty bad. With the snow storm we had last week I decided to go out with the wife and kids to take pictures. This is a genius idea. My wife busted her phone screen getting out of the car before a concert. The inability to take some photos and whatnot would have driven her nuts, but lo and behold, here's iFix across the street, and they had it fixed in 7 or 8 minutes. And it cost about what it would cost anywhere else. Oddly, they were closing at 6 p.m. (or the guy working there was leaving, anyway) and this sure seems like the kind of thing you could make a mint on between midnight and 2 a.m. with drunk goofballs dropping iPhones all over on Sixth Street. They are fast in replacing your screens unfortunately the screens are not that good quality. At least not the one I got. Had to get it replaced again somewhere else after a few months. I recommend getting AppleCare. AppleCare is $100 and replacing a screen under AppleCare is $30. Over all a little more expensive but at least you get a quality product. Also, if your screen breaks a second time, you paid a total of $160 with AppleCare and $200 with the iFix guys. To Chris' comment: If your screen broke a second time, then the total would be $200 ($100 per replacement). Also, I did come back and was told you would have to charge me again for the screen replacement as it was outside the 30 day warranty. I ended up getting it replaced at ATX Cell Repair where they give you a life long warranty on the screens. They probably can as they use better quality screens. Also they are $10 cheaper. read more

I just paid to get my IPad screen fixed picked it up and drove home immediately. The new screen they just put in is cracked in 2 places and the touch screen doesn't work. I immediately called IFIX Austin and they told me I would have to pay to get it fixed again that the screen was not broken when I picked it up. Matthew was great at the Oak Hill location. My screen cracked and I felt much shame. I amor an age, where a cracked phone screen is absolutely unacceptable. I knew it was going to cost me something and the question was how much was my vanity worth. Sage to say the cost of the screen was less than the cost of my dignity. So I showed up at the cute little "kiosk" and there was Matthew ready to help. He even checked the microphone and got that working as well. Matthew at least deserves a chair upgrade. About 45 days later, my phone starting acting fussy. It was freezing up, much to my chagrin. I stopped by and asked Matthew if this could possibly be a defect. He explained that because of the design of the 6s (the screen is one-piece versus modular) the screen can act up. Screen was replaced and it is now working fine again. I have a 2 year old X that has been kept in a new wallet case that I replace every 30 days since day one. This means that the phone is absolutely spotless and even though it may have been dropped once or twice during its life, the fall was greatly cushioned. OK, so one time I somehow managed to create a little crack on one corner and being a person who cannot stand an imperfect screen, I decided to have it replaced. The first time I brought it in, the replacement was done and immediately I noticed that the battery drain was ridiculously high now. This was blatantly noticeable. In the dark I noticed colour bleeding and shades that simply were never there before. Adjusting screen brightness is now also a problem. There is no granularity, it jumps from super low to super high light. Then, the screen began to ghost and stopped working altogether. I took it back in, another 7 days, not even.. discoloured block, shaking images, and then... dead. The screen simply went black. So now we are here two weeks in with two replacement screens. At this point I'm freaking out because I can't go to Apple since the stores are closed and I'm getting tired of these guys and their substandard screens / installation. I go one more time, this time it winds up being a partner-connected shop on S. Lamar. The guy there replaces it in an hour, and it has now been 2 weeks mostly without issues. The screen is definitely not the same as it was on my original equipment. There are momentary imprints of shades and there is still some colour bleed. At this point if it dies again, I'm simply going to call American Express and ask them to reverse the charges and go buy a new phone. Your takeaway here is this: The internet is full of stories like mine. Some of these screens are substandard. I'm not an iPhone hardware expert, but maybe, just maybe the first two times it was not installed correctly? My experience is shared amongst many posts out there. The customer service aspect here was just fine, but understand that customer service does not make up for you being stuck without a phone for a day that is critical to your business. One of the bottom screws came out of my iPhone and the screen and home button were out of alignment. Joel fixed the alignment issue so I could use my phone again. The clips for the screws had broken off so there was no fixing it permanently without a new screen. He got my phone working again even though I opted not to get a new screen for now. No charge! I'll go back for sure if/when I need a new screen. read more

Do not come here. I should have listened to the other bad reviews. I fixed my screen here on my Iphone 7+ and and bought a screen protector. Seemed all great. It was fixed within 45 minutes. I then noticed it was very difficult to type on the new screen and within three days, the glass was broken. Seems like that has been very common among other customers, so I'm assuming its poor quality. Also, phone is no longer working now, there is a spinning wheel and it just turns black. After "fixing" my cracked case, my phone started acting berserk. Flashing through different screens, messing up what I would type. The only way to stop it is to press the reset button on the side. The new screen cover they put on it seems to be loose on the right-hand side. I took it back and explained the problem. The guy's only response was "iPhones have a protective seal that gets broken when you take the screen off. We don't have any replacements. It's like tape. There's nothing you can do about it." I proceeded to cuss him out by telling him that I should have been informed of that before he ruined my phone. I am going to file a Better Business Bureau complaint and possibly even a lawsuit just out of a sense of justice. Stay AWAY from this place. read more

Great service and nice employee. I tried to make a repair to my iphone myself by ordering a part from amazon. I ended up messing up the screen in the process. Decided it wasn't worth it to keep tinkering around myself and went to ifix. He fixed it within a couple hours, let me know that the part I purchased off amazon actually wasn't working and in the end I hadn't actually messed up my screen. Would not offer me a refund on a screen that had malfunctioned 2 times since going here. The only way to get a refund was for them to replace the screen they gave me with a broken one. If that's the case they don't offer refunds at all only returns and in return you will get a screen that was worse than the one you came in to repair in the first place. My phone has extremely slow reactions and the coloring is a very yellow tint. I would recommend cutting your losses and go to apple straight instead of risking an expensive phone at a 3rd party place who only spends 20 minutes and expects quality outcome. read more
