Had my screen replaced, what a horrible attitude! The store was supposed to open at 10am, which I called twice the day prior to make sure that it would indeed open at 10 because that's the only time I could go in and have to rush afterwards. I arrived at 9:45, just to be sure that I was the first in line and could drop my phone off quickly and get it back on time. However the store didn't open till 10:10, I was getting really anxious as I had an important meeting after and every minute counted. I can understand that people run late sometimes or have a bad day, but in this case shouldn't they at least say sorry? All I got was "There was traffic. What do you want me to say?" with a stony face. In my home country where people would apologize for any minute of delay, I was quite shocked. I said I was frustrated they were late, they said "Ok I'll apologize, is that what you want?" with a hard face and nasty tone. Also answered my questions regarding the phone very rudely. no smile whatsoever the entire time I was there. Wouldn't have used them had I known. So my trusted celly had a protective liquid screen. Gorilla glass or whatever you call it. I have this phone for about 2 years. It had a few drops and nothing. No cracks. I decide to play tennis, my phone fell out of my pocket onto the tennis court. It wasnt a hard fall, nor was the fall on the concrete. I couldn't believe that my phone had slight Crack on one side. It wasn't deep cracks. Rather than wait til it get worse, I decide to use my phone insurance through Ascurion. I was happy that I would have a 0 deductible. I did everything online. Happy that they come to me. Within a day, I had my phone fix. They gave me a window time frame. Texted me to lmk of their eta. Pulled up in their marked van. It's important yall back up your phone etc. Even though he told me it wasn't necessary. My phone repair took less than an hour. The tech was cool, and even replaced my battery . My phone doesn't drain fast. I ordered a phone screen too. Told me again, liquid screen protectors aren't worth it. My phone looks brand new! Yay!! Definitely recommend this place! read more

I went to this store years ago because they were way less expensive than Apple for phone fixes. Well it's not necessarily true anymore. I had my iphone 12 pro max battery replaced here for $109.99. Too bad for me the Apple store would have done it for $89.00. Word to the wise - compare prices - don't assume that these folks are a good deal. Also, even with a reservation for drop off with this store, I had to wait over 30 minutes just to drop off the phone. There was one guy at the front desk- but he was actively working on repairing another customer's phone. There was a fellow in the back, but he did not come to the front desk to help newly arriving customers. Not a great experience at all. read more

I was quoted $179 on the website for repairing my iPhone 11 Pro Max screen repair (minus $15 for black friday discount)...so, I agreed and made my appointment. Well, the repair actually cost $259.99 (plus tax). Receipt attached. The store representative's reply to my complaint was that the website 'I guess is wrong'. Since my son dropped off the phone for me and paid already (not knowing what the actual cost should have been) they wouldn't do anything to address my concern. This difference in quote vs. actual is a clear documented intentional bait and switch. The cost of the part and the labor required to do this standard repair are well-known by the business. Deceptive business practices like this should not be rewarded with more business. They will not be getting more of my business in the future and I will be reporting this experience widely to help prevent other consumers from being treated in the same manner. read more

I have a 2008 BMW with the digital Hi-fi system. The amp [in the trunk] got wet. The took on the job and although it took them 2 weeks, my amp was returned repaired, and the transistors / components were actually upgraded to more modern parts. I think this company does a good job with electronics like amplifiers or other devices where the electronics schematics are available. I opened it up to look at the work, and whoever did the repair had good soldering skills, and cleaned up the board ; when I took it to them it had some water damage, and they cleaned all the damage off the printed circuit board. I appreciate the effort and results and would try them again. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR APPLE DEVICES HERE!! *unless you want to leave with your phone with more problems than it had before getting "serviced" It is an absolute shame that uBreakiFix is not able to deliver what they promise. A simple one day (5-hour) repair turned into a FOUR DAY ordeal, and left me with a malfunctioning iPhone with problems it hadn't had before the "repair". There were no alternative solutions offered and all my emails requesting to speak with a decision maker were left unanswered. **I ended up submitting this as a Google review last week, and only then did I get a response from a uBreakiFix customer support employee, who then proceeded to mention that this store was an independently owned franchise and it could have been solved had the store employees escalated this to the owners. The support employee is still going back and forth and has not shared a solution from the owners with me. As someone who works in customer service I dreaded writing a negative review. But I'd hate for anyone with an Apple product to go in looking to get their tech repaired as I had, and then have to waste their time, money and energy having to walk away with their tech worse off than when they came in. Details: Last month I came in to have the broken back glass of my iPhone 13 Max Pro repaired/replaced on a TUESDAY. There were no other issues present when I dropped my phone off. When I picked up my phone following the repair, the microphone was not working and no one could hear me on a phone call unless I put it on speaker phone. The next day (WEDNESDAY) I brought the phone back in to have the newly malfunctioning microphone repaired ... and then when I picked it up the FaceID was no longer working, and I was told to bring my phone back in again on Thursday. To reiterate, FaceID was working just fine before and after the initial repair. But not after the second repair. On THURSDAY I dropped my phone off, and when I was told to come by and pick it up the FaceID feature was STILL NOT REPAIRED and I had to come back in AGAIN the next day when a "programmer" was set to arrive in store. On FRIDAY I dropped my phone off for a few hours for another attempt at repairing FaceID. I received a message that there was an update, and when I went back I was told that nothing more could be done to fix my phone. I was refunded for the initial service and told that there was nothing else they could do to fix the situation or make things right. I chose to have my phone fixed on a Tuesday for a reason- the rest of my week was very busy. The fact that I had to come in for THREE ADDITIONAL DAYS that week (without my phone for over 20 hours total) was incredibly inconvenient and not what I had signed up for. If the technician repaired the phone properly the first time, I would have a phone with FaceID working as it should. But because they screwed up the microphone and had to go back into the phone to fix it, FaceID is no longer working and I'm unable to use it for apps/security features I use every day. A few other problems I've noticed since the repair as well: Every now and then I'll get a pop up that there's "no sim detected" even when I haven't touched it, and will have to go in and pop it out and reinsert it so the phone recognizes that it is in there. Also the dimensions of the back glass replacement seems to be slightly different than the original, so the phone cases for the specific phone model don't fit the phone properly anymore, leaving the phone to be more vulnerable if dropped accidentally. When uBreakiFix advertises that they provide services to fix Apple products, it is not acceptable to let customers walk away with a phone that isn't functioning due to your technician's mistakes because "Apple makes it difficult for third-parties to repair". If thats the case, then don't advertise fixing their products! Aside for the initial service refund, there were zero alternative solutions provided by the store manager or efforts to make things right for the hours of inconveniences and impositions due to their mistake. Shame on uBreakiFix and Asurion. **Update: a week after posting the original review on Google, the issue regarding the "no sim detected" message has gotten worse, and the trick of taking out the SIM card and putting it back in no longer works. My phone has been in SOS mode (without cellular capabilities) for over 24 hours. So now the most basic function of the iPhone is no longer working. read more

I have never actually had this company service my electronics -- but I have been positively impressed by their business ethics. About a month ago, a relatives iPhone 6S apparently went insane, and I did a quick online lookup for a convenient repair business. A uBreakiFix location near my relative's location in Gaithersburg came up and they drove there. It was explained that because it was quite late in the day, they'd have to leave the phone overnight, which was quite reasonable. The next day my relative returned only to be told that the problem was not the iPhone screen, as we had thought -- but that the motherboard had gone bad. Staff gave my relative a realistic quote for the work but also warned that, based on the phone's age & condition, it would be better to just buy a new one from our carrier and restore everything from backup. When my relative chose the latter, staff returned the phone (reassembled to the best degree possible) and refused to charge anything because they hadn't been able to actually help. Based on this interaction, when the keyboard on my 2019 MacBook Pro began failing, I called the same store for a quote. The gentleman on the other end of the line asked a couple of pertinent questions, then asked me for the specific model number (not just year & screen size) and looked up the necessary components. He then told me that they could not simply replace the keyboard (something I'd heard from other sources already), but that the repair would be the entire lower section of the laptop containing the keyboard, trackpad, speakers, and associated circuitry. He reassured me that, assuming there were no other problems, the main storage, screen, etc. would be untouched, but because the laptop was so old (it's already at least 2 generations old in Apple terms), the repairs would have to be done with refurbished parts. He gave me a quote that included all parts and labor, and made sure I understood that the replacement parts would be fully certified but *not* new, and that if they found any additional problems once the laptop had been opened up, the repair costs could go up by anything from a few to a few hundred dollars. I thanked him and said I needed to think about it, and he was very understanding... I got none of the "hard sell" that I'd worried about (and absolutely hate). I ended up deciding to simply replace the laptop with a newer one because there's no way to be 100% sure the keyboard was the only issue, but was again positively impressed with the staff's honesty, interest in looking things up and giving me the most accurate informatino possible *before* I even came into the store, and lack of pushing me to make a decision that could add to their profit at the cost of my own finances. If (and likely when) I need electronics repaired/diagnosed, I will definitely have this business at the top of my list! read more

I got my phone charging port repaired. They ended up breaking the phone screen while repairing it so they had to fully replace my screen. I noticed my haptic feedback was messed up when I got home and my charger made a loud click noise when I plugged it in. They didn't put something back the right way. I dropped it back off for them to check it out the next day and 4 hours later they wanted me to pay to get it fixed again, for something they broke. They didn't even own up to it and played like it wasn't their problem they caused. If you go to get something fixed here, they'll probably break something else in the process. read more

I had a really positive experience with uBreakiFix when I recently dropped and broke the glass screen of my iPhone SE. Despite being in a bumper case and having survived numerous drops on its sides and back, this recent impact was face/screen-side down on to the driveway surface from standing height. The screen was toasted, and I wasn't optimistic that I could find a place that could fix it on a Saturday when the accident happened - let alone on an aging device such as the iPhone SE. The phone still worked with Touch ID, but the Home button while functional had lost its tactile responsiveness when depressed. A quick search on Yelp yielded a few results when I come across several UBreakiFix locations near me. I clicked on a link to the home website of one local UBreakiFix location, and chatted online with a representative about my repair needs. He was able to tell me which location had the screen parts I needed, a price range for the fix, and how long the repair would take (same day service within 2-3 hours). They fixed the screen on my iPad a while back. While they did fix it, it broke a week later. The glass they used was cheap. I feel ripped off. It was like $200. I also cracked my iPhone and got it fixed at the Apple store and I've dropped it many times since, and it was fine. My "fixed" iPad could barely handle a 2 foot drop. Now I've learned to go to the actual makers of my phone. Here's the thing though. When I cracked my iPad, it was just the screen. But then when it broke again after the crappy fix, the LED screen was also messed up. I dropped my Galaxy S8 and cracked the screen. Stopped by this store. Guys were very nice and friendly. Oscar explained me everything in details, answered all my questions. They offered me to leave the phone and come back in two hours. However, I needed my phone that day and couldn't leave it there. Therefore, I scheduled an appointment for the next day, came back again, left my phone and in 2 hours my phone was ready, like new. Besides the screen, they also replaced my phone's battery with brand new one, as well as the frame, even though the frame itself was fine, with no scratches. Apparently it's a Samsung's policy. They also offer a 90-day warranty. Anyways, it's the second day I have the repaired phone. No problems yet. Thank you! P.S.: For your information: In order to check the screen after the completion of their work, they will ask you to unlock the phone and disable all the features, such as fingerprint/iris scanner/pattern/password. Since I have a lot of sensitive information on the phone, I didn't want to give full access to everything. It took me just a few minutes to sync everything with my cloud account, after that I did factory reset and handed my phone to them. Exceptional service by Randall and the team! Every time I called, I spoke to a person. He did everything he could to fix my device, but ultimately, it needed data recovery. He did not charge for the diagnostic. If your device needs a new charging port, it is sent out to a technician. Price breakdowns $129 broken iPad mini screen $150 new charging port. Might include battery? I didn't need one $25 data transfer $50 new home button I ultimately sent the device to iPad Rehab in New York, which charges $300 for data recovery. This is MUCH cheaper than drivesavers in San Francisco, which charges $700-$1900 for data recovery. Randall even helped me bubble wrap and box up the device. read more

Brought my work phone in to have the back glass repaired on a Friday - was supposed to take 4 hours. The shop broke my phone while taking the back off and said they had to send it out and it would be ready Saturday or "no later than that Monday." Super inconvenient. I went to the store that Monday but they hadn't heard from the man fixing it but would call me. Never heard from Asurion for several more hours so I called them and asked for my fixed phone, or a replacement. They offered me a replacement which took me HOURS to set up and download my apps and re-log into them. Here's the kicker...they STILL charged me the $200 repair fix even though they didn't fix anything and i was put out for days. Yes, they gave me a phone with bigger memory (didn't need it) but it is refurbished. My Iphone 14Pro was 10 months old. I felt like communication was lacking in this situation, and the fact they charged me for a repair was insulting. They wouldn't even offer me a warranty on the replacement phone. The Staff did not inform me my Samsung Galaxy S7 would lose water resistance by having them repair it, instead of sending it directly to Samsung. My phone was IP68 dust and water resistant (30 minutes in up to 5 feet of water) and passed MIL-STD-810G environmental testing before they worked on it. After repair, I was informed that the staff have no machinery or capability to maintain the water-tight seal and my phone is no longer water resistant. Had I known this from the beginning, I would not have had UBreakIFix fix my phone for $240, and opted to have Samsung fix it for a similar or slightly higher price while maintaining the water tight seal. As much as I'd like to give 1 star for returning my phone in a less capable state, I give 2 stars because they successfully replaced the inner LCD panel, albeit while removing a key functionality from my phone (water resistance was the reason I got this phone). read more

High quality, quick service - but maybe too quick sometimes. I was mostly happy with my experience here despite having to return twice to get my Pixel 2 XL screen perfect. I think the products are high-quality, the customer service superb, and the solutions offered are speedy. My one recommendation for them would be too make sure speed doesn't interfere with quality of services rendered. I had to return twice - once because film was left over the front camera on the inside of the screen and again because of small scratch left after having to relift the screen to remove the film. Both of these mistakes I feel should have been caught in a thorough final review of the product. That being said, Randall made sure they did get it right - without any cost to me. read more

My first time breaking my IPhone screen and this place was recommended by an employee at AT&T. We went to the Connecticut ave location and they let us know that they didn't have the same Color screen and explained that we would not be able to trade in if the original screen was a different color than the replacement. They called the Bethesda shop and they had the correct color screen and we went there. Service was excellent and information given was very transparent. They said it would take 1 & 1/2 Hours and that was exactly what it took. I feel as if I have a new phone. It was the best. It's on Wisconsin Ave across from Guapos--we ate there, parked in a lot on Highland Ave that was free on Saturdays and Sundays. All in all, a great experience. read more
