Very bad customer experience over here. If you are an android user then read this before you even think of showing up there. Called them on Thursday to see if they can replace the screen on my Samsung phone. They said they can do it and gave me a quote. I showed up on Friday after work. First they said their system was down and took my phone saying I will get it back on Saturday around noon. That was my first mistake to trust them. I call them around 11.30 am on Saturday and then they say it will be available by 5 pm. Already annoying at this point. I call again at 4 pm to see if they would have it ready by 5 pm as I had to be somewhere else as well. They then say the parts are not there and I can pick my phone. I show up at the store and the person says I have to talk to Samsung as no one else in the bay area has the parts. I take it to the uBreakIFix in Fremont and get it fixed by Sunday. I have an iPad not displaying at all. I brought it to the nearest repair shop for help. The reception lady Alexka did an initial plugin and found the device did not have any charge, and the charging sign did not appear. I left the device there for an evaluation. Two days later, I went back to ask for the result (called but no answer). The tech in the back had already finished the diagnostics and found out nothing wrong with the unit, and there was no charge for the service. The whole process was smooth and very professional. I will come back for any future repairs. I did tell Alexka to update their telephone number because unanswerable phone will definitely affect their business a lot. read more

I'm dismayed I gave up 3 hours of my life for this place. They're as broken as the phone in your hand you THINK they're going to fix. Lets note the byline on their name "by Asurion". Asurion is a phone insurance/service provider. Insurance companies make money taking in your monthly fee. They lose money paying on claims, so treating the customers with disdain and making getting service difficult would be just part of preserving profits. Lets just step through the entire interaction and I'll point out how to fix the various mistakes. Starting on the website. I go to research getting a repair. There are no prices. Prices should be shown, even if they're a range. I have no way of knowing if this is a $25 repair or a $300 repair. ~ Provide price estimates/ranges for repairs When I scheduled my repair I was offered on-site service, which I would gladly have paid extra for. After I submitted my info, that was taken away. Instead, you should prompt for info THEN show available services, don't get me excited about something then take it away. ~Only show options that are actually available, do not be misleading about options. Ok, so 2 days later on Appointment day I head down there. Its an hour from work, 90 min from home. I'm adding nearly 3 hours to my day to run down to get fixed. I'm barely on the road and I get an email "sorry that we missed you" What? My appointment is in an hour. Don't send misleading emails - esp for people who have to travel long distances to get their phones fixed. ~Do not send appointment missed messages before the appointment time. ~OR, don't back door cancel appointments without providing a reason [foreshadowing] I arrive 15 min early. The place is locked up tight and there's a hand written sign taped to the door "gone to lunch". That was pretty much the point I gave up on Ubrokeidontcare. The organization needs to schedule better and have better coverage for their staff. Just close from 12-1 or 2-3 or whatever. Don't claim open and book appointments and not be there. ~provide adequate staff to cover for breaks or adjust hours so appointments aren't booked when the store is closed. Ok, so the nice woman working gets back from lunch (no dig on the staff, this is all a management/org problem) and says up front "we stop repairs at 3pm so you'll have to drop it off and pick it up later in the week" Yeah, no. I drove nearly 3 hours out of my way to get my phone fixed. Not so I could drive 3 hours twice and wait on it. This needed to be made clear on the website up front, I wouldn't have bothered wasting my time. ~Appointments should mean a device is getting fixed. If its drop off only say that up front. Ok, well I'm here, lets explore this. She asks my name - not in the system. My appointment number? Nope. Not there. Why bother taking an appointment if you're not going to even record it? But, she was nice about it, my appointment didn't matter since they don't fix things past 3pm anyway and she was just going to collect it to get fixed later. Sigh. ~Don't lose appointments. ~Or did you cancel it? Maybe don't do that, either. Ok so then she asks what's wrong, and I explained, needed a screen and I needed it not wiped because I can't back it up and can't acknowledge the "allow connect to computer" since the screen doesn't take a prompt. Well, wouldn't you know "Google" requires them to run diagnostic on the phone to "certify" it so they have to wipe it. There's no way around this. They won't let me agree to avoid Google's "certification" and they have no way to backup a phone prior to fixing. This seems like an awfully common problem. I bet half the devices come in for a bad/broken screen. Just wiping them all "cause Google says to" is a terrible user experience. I would gladly have paid $50 to have my device backed up so you could wipe it and I still got the photos back on an SD card. That's all I wanted anyway. The phone needed to work for me to unlock it and confirm connecting a computer. That was all I needed. ~ If you have to wipe a device to fix it, say that up front on the website. ~ Provide a provision, even if there's a cost, to back a user's device up before wiping it. You can see how avoiding paying claims is the name of the game here. They want to do it as cheaply and as inconveniently as possible to get you to just leave. Mind you, I was a fully paying retail customer. No insurance involved. Just taken my money. But their system is so broken they had no way of doing that. So, 3 hours of my life wasted on these Asurions. Never Again. Instead I'll spend $20 and ship my phone to a nice private co in SoCal who seems to be able to fix anything. They previously fixed a surface for me, and a buddy's touch-screen HP laptop. read more

IDK my damn sale number or when this appointment took place. This place so damn shit I gave my laptop there for repair and keep in mind that this is 144 htz laptop. its a gaming laptop. So we give it to them, it takes about 5 days to make out the issue which is a broken display issue. So those 5 days were fine, and then they let me take my laptop back home to use in the meantime. After about 2-3 damn weeks we still don't get an update. My dad goes there about 2-3 times there to check and we call so many times too. We told this one guy who works there that there was issues withmy display and also fps but he did NOT fix my fps. Also after around 3 weeks of waiting we finally got the part for my laptop and this fool for a 120 hertz instead of 144. LIKE DAWG YOU CHARGED MY DAMN 400 BUCKS TO RUIN MY LAPTOP. I wasted 3 hours of my life here today. I should have read reviews first. We were directed here for what should have been an easy screen replace. It started when we dropped the phone off. Apparently none of the technicians showed up on time? Just one person in the front struggling to intake info. There was an issue with the claim we filed, Verizon linked it to an old phone we don't have which was not the locations fault. BUT we should have been notified at that time they couldn't proceed with a repair. Instead she locates the model phone we do have and proceeds forward with the claim as if there will be no issue. Then we get a call that they broke the back of the phone during the repair process, but they will fix for free (although a different color) but not a major issue for us. We then go to pick up the phone 3 hours later and are now told they can't release since the claim wasn't for that phone. What? I ask if we can sort it out with Asurion but was told no, they have to put the broken screen back on to give back. I ask if we can file a new claim and they said they can't used a part used in a repair again. So now they are out a part, we have a phone worse then when we brought it in, and their employees all had no idea what they were doing and no empathy or customer service skills. read more

Made an appointment at this location which is 30 miles from my house, I received an email stating that it was confirmed for the following day. I get here and their doors are closed and locked and their sign says they open at 10:00am, but no one is here? They don't ever pick up their phone because I've been calling for 2 days, and if they're not going to be here, and keep their appointments and I have wasted my time, gas and money then they should have had the courtesy to at least reach out and cancel the appointment with their customers. Then On June 7th When I was on my family vacation, I tested my phone with water, as soon as it touched the water my phone went BLANK. He was so indifferent about my situation that even I asked him *if should I take the service that you guys sent me. He said he didn't care its up to me* I also asked him if he had the testing documents for my first he said yes, but then he couldn't locate the one that they serviced in June . My point of this letter is that someone from ASURION has to visit this store, there are a lot of schecty things going on, and at the end, I asked Alvin if he can recover the $99 that I paid for a deductible to Asurion, his response was flat out NO. Armani was very professional, clear and transparent about the process and cost. READ THIS BEFORE U GO! Do your self a favor and just go to Apple to fix your products. Just an absolutely disappointing experience working with this company. I brought my apple watch on 10/6 because it needed glass repair. They told me that it would take 3-5 days for the glass ware to come to fix. The receipt says the part should come in by 10/9. Today is 10/18, no replacement glass for my apple watch. Did they communicate that there was a delay? No! Thats what annoyed me about the whole thing, poor communication. You have people's products, they pay you for the repair, and you don't communicate delays. They just said "their mailbox was locked out" forreal? come on, come with a better excuse. "Do you just want a refund?" No sorry for the delay, no apologies for poor communiciation. Yall a big corporation and this is how you guys do business. really? "Do you want it just pick up and get your refund, we close at 7." Your reps are ruining your business. On 10/18, I end up going to the store to pick up my broken apple watch, she then asks for the last four digits of my card so she can do the refund as discussed over the phone. I asked for my receipt. After reviewing the receipt in my car, I realize that the rep reprints my original receipt!! She never refunded the money back into my account even though she said she would. These people really think I'm dumb and they think doing business dishonestly is going to work for them! Its wild. I go back inside and demand the manager to give me the refund now. I wait 15 minutes for them to get approval from whomever, and I finally get the accurate receipt showing the refund. Terrible experience. Made appointment for a battery replacement for my iPad a week prior to my appointment. This was listed as a standard repair that they offer. I drove 40 minutes to get there. Despite having an appointment with a specific repair requested, the 2 technicians appeared baffled about why I was even there. I had to show them on my phone that I was there for my booked appointment. They then informed me that it would take over a week to get my battery. Hello? Isn't this the business you are in? And they had my contact information so why not simply send me a text that the battery would need to be ordered before I traveled ? That way I could have been spared an hour and 20 minutes of driving. All they were willing to do is book another appointment with the "hope" the battery would arrive. The incompetence gets worse. Later that same afternoon I get an automated email claiming I was a "no show" for my appointment. And adding insult to injury,I am now getting daily spam emails from them promoting their (what appears to me) non existent business. I have tried numerous times to unsubscribe with no luck. I walked into a uBreakiFix store at Dublin, CA to get my tablet and printer repaired. The store agent told me to take an Asurion plan, wait for 30 days, and then submit a claim for them to get fixed, and that it would cost me only $99 when claims are approved. In return, I should have a $25/month subscription. It sounded reasonable, and I did just that: I signed up on Mar 3rd with Asurion, waited until April, and then filed my claims. For the past 2 weeks, I have had numerous responses from claims team asking me to put pictures in one way or another, resubmit forms with different corrections, reopen different claims for the same, etc. I have had to call Customer service multiple times to understand what exactly is needed so I can do it exactly as they need instead of the constant run around. couple days ago, I requested for an escalation and a supervisor then worked with me to ensure everything checked out well and it got submitted. I was assured the tablet claim would be approved this time, only to find out a day later it was asking for documentation to be resubmitted yet again. I had enough of this and called customer service yesterday to put me in touch with the claims department directly, and the claims person now says, "Well, you had devices that were already broken BEFORE you signed up for the Asurion plan, and so per policy, the claims will be rejected.". While I totally understand the rationale, did I have to go through this hell for almost 2 months with 2 store visits, 4 customer calls (each 50+ mins longer), hours of taking photos, downloading pics, forms, digitally signing it, making copies, and 2 months of premium deduction before I was told this. I mean, I didn't go to the store for an insurance plan even just to get my devices fixed. In the process, I learned Asurion doesn't fix printers but only reimburses them and my printer is still sitting at the local store since they asked me to leave it there and come after the claim is approved. I cannot believe how bad this whole setup is--local store, agent knowledge, poor communication from claim notification, poor triage of issues, etc. The only positive thing in the whole experience is that the Customer representatives I spoke to at Asurion, including the supervisor and Claim agent, were all extremely sympathetic and friendly and treated me with respect. But sadly, they don't deserve my business, so I requested for my plan to be canceled, and I am told I will be refunded whatever has been charged--how much I get, time will tell. I am grateful; I did not fall for the upsell to purchase their next level plan that included all home appliances, etc. read more
