I ended up cracking the lens on my camera; partly my fault since I refuse to use a phone case like most people. I filed a claim through AT&T/Asurion, and they offered to send me a replacement phone, but only in a different color. I really like my black iPhone 16 Pro Max and wasn't interested in switching to the desert sand option they suggested. I knew there was a uBreakiFix nearby, so I decided to stop in and see what could be done. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Rhea, who was incredibly kind and helpful. She pulled up my claim, walked me through everything, and got the repair process started right away. Since it was about 25 minutes before closing, she initially suggested I come back another time so she could complete the repair without rushing. I asked if there was any chance it could be done that evening, and she graciously obliged. Of course, I slowed things down by forgetting my "Find My iPhone" password, and by the time I sorted that out, it was already 6:45 PM. Despite that, Rhea took my phone to the back and got to work immediately. She even stayed a few minutes past closing on a Friday night to finish the repair, which I truly appreciated. She could have easily asked me to come back the next day, but instead chose to go the extra mile and take care of me on the spot. That level of customer service doesn't go unnoticed. I really should have stayed away based on the many poor reviews, but I thought since I had a PS5 and not a phone repair, maybe my experience would be better. I dropped off my PS5 about 3 weeks ago and was told it would be $100 non-refundable for a diagnostic/attempted repair. If they could fix it, it might be done that day. If it needed replacement, I was told it would take 2-3 days and cost $150 total, including the non-refundable diagnostic. Since Sony quoted $220 to fix it, I agreed. Three days later, I still had not heard anything, so I called. That is when I was told the Fremont branch handles PS5 repairs, so my console was just sitting there waiting to be picked up and sent over. No one mentioned at drop-off that the Dublin store does not even work on PS5s and that it would take several extra days just to get looked at at another location. From that point on, I basically had to call Fremont myself for updates. Now, 3 weeks later, and after several phone calls from me every few days, they still have my PS5. They have never once contacted me proactively with an update. First it took several days for them to even look at it, then several more days to order a replacement part, and now I am being told the replacement part was defective and they have to wait for yet another part to come in. On top of that, the total cost is now going to be $280, which is absolutely not what I was quoted originally. If I had been told that upfront, I never would have dropped it off, especially since Sony quoted $220. If it were not for the $100 non-refundable diagnostic fee, I would probably just pick the console up from Fremont at this point. But after already paying that, there is not much I can do except keep waiting. TL;DR: if you have a game console that needs repair, absolutely stay away from the Dublin store and be very cautious about anything they tell you. My mistake was not insisting on a written estimate or some kind of documentation, because all I have is a $100 charge on my credit card and no receipt or contract. read more

The attitude of the manager Rhea and Wilford was friendly, competent and fast. I had a broken screen on my Verizon phone. I have Asurion insurance. Rhea was able to find my insurance and fix my iPhone while I waited. I came in when they were almost closed. I didn't expect to be able to get it repaired without leaving it and picking it up the next day. I will definitely be back if I need any repairs. They also repair game controllers and consoles! The staff in this location needs some professional courtesy and friendliness training. No smiles, no enthusiasm, both just appeared like they want to be done with their shift at 10am. When I came in for my appointment, someone was at the counter helping another customer and no greeting that someone will be out to assist me soon. When someone did arrive, I was greeted with the saddest, how can I help you? When I was given a quote, they sounded like they don't want to sell you anything. No eye contact, person helping me just stared at the monitor while giving me the details of the quote the whole time whilst conferring with the other staff in another language. Shout out to Rhea who was friendly on the phone, explained pricing for my out of warranty Pixel 7 Pro screen replacement, discount if I got the Asurion warranty package* with my screen repair, checked to see if they had the replacement screen in stock before I stop by, and provided an accurate estimate on repair cost and time needed to repair. * Warning: Asurion is a forty dollar MONTHLY subscription charged to your credit card that's active until you cancel. Although the screen replacement cost was crazy high (four hundred for my Pixel 7 Pro?!), I was stuck as my screen completely blacked out without any access to authentication apps I need for my work. Walked in late Friday afternoon, walked out one hour later with a new screen. Rhea did a fantastic job on the repair. Note: uBreakiFix has a 3.5% credit card surcharge if you choose to pay with a credit card. Overall, uBreakiFix is an authorized Google phone repair shop which influenced my decision to have my phone repaired at this location along with a quick turnaround this time around. Otherwise, the high repair cost, "forced" warranty purchase, and credit card surcharge are negatives that will motivate me to look around at other repair shops when the need arises again. read more

The staff in this place does not practice customer service. I was there yesterday, drove an hour for my appointment. The lady at the store who assisted me is not helpful at all. I told her im there for my fold 6 screen protector replacement, she said that's $360. I asked her if I can use the one time samsung free screen protector replacement and she told me no, that needs to be done through Samsung and I need to ship my phone to Samsung. I explained that I used to go to ubreak in union city and all they do is contact Samsung to see if im eligible for free and she straight up told me that they don't do that. She seems so much in hurry there's zero customer service at all the way she talks (if you know what i mean) I just left the store, really disappointed. That lady did not even look at my phone. Today, I called ubreak in stockton and inquire about the same thing.. he said they call Samsung to see if my phone is eligible but will take 30min to hr but I can pay out of pocket for $30. In our case, they said there was a dent, when we didn't see a single dent on the device prior to arriving. They not only did not help fix the phone, they marked it as a missed appointment, closed the warranty case, and made it way harder to get a fix moving forward. Went to the website about getting a replacement battery on a Garmin smartwatch. Says they do it. Put in zip code and it directs me to this store. Make a reservation where I mention my Garmin watch. Show up and the sign shows the variety of things they supposedly work on. Membership brochure has a picture of my smartwatch on it. I had a very frustrating experience with uBreakiFix / Asurion in Dublin. Their own website advertises a low-price guarantee: they say they will match a local competitor's regular advertised price and beat it by $5. I checked this before going. I also tried calling the store multiple times, but nobody picked up. Since I could not reach them by phone, I drove from Danville to the Dublin location. When I arrived, there was a line, so I waited another 10-15 minutes. When I finally got to the counter, I asked a simple question: "You have the price-match policy listed on your website, correct?" The answer I got was basically: "No." That is unacceptable. If the company advertises a price-match policy online, the store staff should either honor it or clearly explain the written limitations. Simply denying the policy exists after a customer drives there is a waste of the customer's time. Then I asked for the price to replace the battery on an iPhone SE 2020. After some calculation, I was told it would be at least $150. This is completely out of line with the value of the phone. Refurbished iPhone SE 2020 units can be found for roughly $30-50, and other independent shops quoted me much lower prices for battery replacement ($50-70). So my experience was: - They did not answer the phone. - I drove there based on the company's advertised price-match policy. - I waited in line. - The store denied the policy advertised on the company's own website. - They quoted an extremely high price for a simple battery replacement on an older iPhone. I left without doing the repair. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this location. At minimum, they need to train staff on their own advertised policies and provide realistic pricing before customers waste their time driving in. read more

After not hearing from the business after two weeks, I called for multiple days in a row and left messages requesting a call back. I finally drove out to the business and was told by the front desk agent that they were unable to access voicemail messages, that tech workers were required to call and had not, and that two customers had been in complaining that day. I could have give a ZERO star for the service here, I would. I have the word terible experience dealing with them. I brought my phone in to check if it's under warranty repair. The receptionist took the phone in and check with the manager and confirmed with me that it is under warranty to repair and I can come back 2 hour later to pick it up. I come back in the afternoon to pick it up after 4 hour. Thinking that I can get my phone already repaired, but it has not been repaired and they had not make a call to notify me about that. I had to drive 30 minutes back and forth to the shop and got nothing done with my phone. I talked to a man and he apologized and explain that they still waiting for Google to authorize to have my phone fix. He say that they tried to reach me to let me know about that but I didn't respond. I gave them my husband's number to contact. However, it is not true. They have never called me and I have not received any phone call from their shop to let me know before I'm driving over there to pick up my phone. I asked him again." So, is it my phone under warrenty to repair? If not I can take it home right now." The guy responded certainly that my phone is under extension warranty repair. He said that all they need right now is wait for the authorization from Google. I agreed to leave my phone there to get fixed and trust that the guy telling me the truth. Nevertheless, I called again in the morning around 11:00 and asked them if they got the authorization from Google yet to fix my phone. The receptionist checked with the manager again and let me know that they are sorry Google have not given them an authorization to fix my phone. It is beyond ridiculous customer services totally. All she said was "You have to come pick up your phone " They would confirm with you one thing, say one thing that you want to hear but in the reality they can't even get their job done and will inform you the wrong information. I had lines appearing in my pixel 9 pro last year, within few months of purchase. On contacting Google they recommended this place in Dublin to get it repaired/replaced as required and it is within warranty. They did get it repaired and said no screen replacement needed. Also assured 1 year warranty for their service and parts. Within few months the screen started having issues again and started turning white. By then the phone is out of warranty from Google but within the service warranty of this store. But to my shock they are telling me that they are seeing scratches in the screen ( which they repaired few months back and did not replace on their choice). The lady in front desk could not show any visible scratch. But she insisted that the tech folks at the back is seeing scratches and so will not cover the repair within store warranty. So in the end the repair that they did within Google warranty were really crappy as the issue reappeared in few months. But now since they will have to repair it free they are refusing it. So their warranty is a SCAM. And service is crappy. read more

I drop the phone off at 10am today per the appt scheduled and come back at 1:30 to pick up .... they said they would replace the touch screen .... when I come in to pick it up they tell me the claim ticket has been closed & they could not fix it .... the claim was just made yesterday ..... after multiple calls to ASSurion and being cut off they finally opened a new ticket .... can't wait to update you all .... going by at 5pm now to pick up the phone ... Bad customer service, I-don't-care attitude. Took my laptop in because the lid hinge had come loose and the screen cable had disconnected. The guy at the counter immediately started telling me that the lcd was broken and needed to be replaced. He tried convincing me that a lot of things needed replacing but couldn't answer why. When I started asking questions, he told me that the laptop had to be shipped to a warehouse and that I had to pay a $99 diagnostics fee. If he had already diagnosed the problem, I asked him why he wanted to send it to the warehouse. He then admitted that he didn't know what was wrong and needed technicians to look at it. I had the good sense to take my laptop and walk out because this is just an indication of how they are going to work once they have the device in their possession. read more

My experience at this place was extremely disappointing, mainly due to their complete lack of customer service skills. I had visited their store for a simple screen replacement, but unfortunately, they ended up damaging the 5g feature during the process. It was frustrating having to argue with them to take responsibility for the damage that occurred while my phone was in their possession. What made matters worse was the extensive time and effort I had to invest in resolving the issue. I had to make multiple trips, spending a total of 3.5 hours on the road driving back and forth between their Fremont and Dublin locations. On top of that, I was without my phone for a total of 8 days, which was highly inconvenient. Initially, Brandon the regional mgr had promised to consider compensating me for the screen replacement. However, their communication between Fremont and Dublin was seriously lacking, and they ultimately refused to make any effort to provide support or compensation. The gentleman at Dublin said if i wanted that i needed to return the phone to Fremont but he won't do it.. It felt like they were simply avoiding taking responsibility. This situation was so exhausting that I did not want to make another drive to Fremont, wait additional time and sit in 2hours of traffic to go home. Side note, their advertisement claims "We fix it or its free!" but this turned out to be deceptive, as they were unwilling to fulfill that promise when they were the ones who caused the problem in the first place. Fixing my phone after breaking it should have been a basic requirement, not something to boast about. Considering the significant inconvenience I faced, spending so much time on the road and going through numerous arguments, the least they could have done was to comp out the screen replacement. Sadly, they showed no willingness to go the extra mile for their customers. I can confidently say that I won't be returning to this place ever again, and I will definitely share my negative experience with my peers, so they can avoid similar frustrations. I'd like to add that their manager responses seem automated as I posted this same review for Fremont since its for both locations and less than a minute later there's a long response from their MGR. I should have read the reviews before I went to this place. What a colossal waste of my afternoon. After speaking with uBreakiFix corporate on the phone, I walked them through my broken phone screen problem. They were very friendly. They gave me a quote, then said if you could find a better price somewhere, they would match it plus an extra $5.00. Sounds good, right? Well. My point is everything was very well documented and communicated. They even told me not to bother with setting up an appointment, show up, and they would take care of it. My true experience. I drive a half hour to get there. I talked with a gruff man who did not want to help. He did not want to hear about what the person on the phone said. He quoted me a price twice as high as the person on the phone even though it was the same specs. He told me they would not honor the competitive pricing guarantee that the website promotes. He said, "anyone can make an invoice in Microsoft Word" I said, "I can show you the email", which he dismissed and said he would not honor it. So not only does he suggest I am some form of scam artist specializing in faking estimates, but he goes further and tells me "to go to that other business if you like that price". I told him I chose to come here after I talked to your rep and that it would be an hour in the opposite directions to go to this other business. He rolled his eyes and gave me a mental F you. Very bad customer experience over here. If you are an android user then read this before you even think of showing up there. Called them on Thursday to see if they can replace the screen on my Samsung phone. They said they can do it and gave me a quote. I showed up on Friday after work. First they said their system was down and took my phone saying I will get it back on Saturday around noon. That was my first mistake to trust them. I call them around 11.30 am on Saturday and then they say it will be available by 5 pm. Already annoying at this point. I call again at 4 pm to see if they would have it ready by 5 pm as I had to be somewhere else as well. They then say the parts are not there and I can pick my phone. I show up at the store and the person says I have to talk to Samsung as no one else in the bay area has the parts. I take it to the uBreakIFix in Fremont and get it fixed by Sunday.
