Had a broken iphone with no way to recieve txt or any other coms from the phone. Icloud account password missing. Google account password missing. Apple phone support dismal. Google phone support helpful. Christopher "Chris R." at this Rt 40 uBreakiFix nailed it. Knew exactly what to do, clearly explaind costing and executed the plan perfectly. Gave us the exact time it was going to take and we were in and out within a few hours after dealing with what seamed like days on the phone with almost nothing. So heres to a great job!!! I was told to go here after I filed a claim with AT&T for a broken iPhone 12 screen. I called ahead to make sure I did not need an appointment. An employee found my claim quickly and told me to come in whenever. I went in and was promptly greeted and quickly taken care of. I returned within an hour and my phone was looking brand new! On Tuesday, February 4, the company's district manager reached out to negotiate a settlement of the dispute. The manager was aggressive in his approach but a settlement was reached. The company will reimburse the monies paid in excess of the original quote and my old iPad would be returned to the same condition it was when dropped off at their store. The manager became more aggressive (bullying) stating the settlement was contingent on giving the store a 4 or 5 star rating. I did not agree with the contingency but was willing to state we had come to a mutual agreement. He refused and became more insistent I give a 4or 5 star review. I just had the most pleasant experience at the UBREAKITIFIX store in Frederick MD! Upon my arrival, the person who I later learned is Chris N was assisting another customer (an over 65+ senior like myself). He immediately noticed my presence and informed me he would be with me momentarily. He proceeded to assist this gentleman with such kindness, consideration and patience. The gentleman also acknowledged such kindness upon the completion of his transaction. Chris N then turned his full attention upon me. Again, his pleasant demeanor, conscientiousness and sincerity in making me feel valued as a customer shone through. An honest business; we have been twice and both times we were treated respectfully and honestly. The first time my phone's battery cord had come loose. We just knew it wasn't charging. We took it in and the employee working took it, fixed it, and then did not even charge us because it was a simple fix. We were so grateful! The customer service was top-notch and the repair was beyond my expectations. Not only did they repair the cracked screen; but, they also gave me a new battery and a screen protector... They just replaced the broken screen on my iPhone Now Face ID is no longer available (non OEM Apple screen was installed). The issue was never discussed before hand, I assumed the replacement would allow the phone to function as designed. I would suggest telling customers the difference between the type of screen installed and what will or will not be available read more

I needed The HDMI port replaced on my Xbox Series X and after a bit of research and calling around, I found the Frederick location to be my choice for the repair. I was very skeptical at first, but once I got my system back and fixed my mind completely changed. This company that AT&T uses to fix your phone or tablet or anything technology wise is completely useless. Your cell phone company will make you go to this company and report a phone lost, missing or broken and you didn't have to file a claim wait for the phone to arrive at your house and then package up your broken phone and put it in the same box and mail it back out to them it is the most ridiculous process ever! I want put a bullet through both my iPhones that are BOTH broken that I haven't been able to send back to Asurion because I purchased my first home and things got misplaced. It's ridiculous they not only charge me for the first broken phone the rest of what I owed on it. But they then suspended my cell phone account and the bill went up to about $600 and I can't pay it so I've been without a phone for over a month and they tell me they can't do anything I need to call asurion. My best advice is for them to just walk into oncoming traffic already. They should really make it simple and be able to fill out a paper claim form and then hand it to the employee and have them do their fucking job and type in the computer their goddamn self, for real . read more

They advertise computer repair. I made an appointment and took my PC tower in for repairs as needed. After a full week all they could tell me was that PC's disk had a problem (same thing I told them a week earlier) and they couldn't repair or replace it. I took it elsewhere and the disk was replaced in 5 minutes. The only reason I gave them 1 star was because they were only a little late for my appointment and I wasn't charged for them doing nothing. read more

i had a faulty hdmi port that needed a replacement on a console and so i dropped off my item (2/24/22) was told it'll be 169.99 but with asurion it'll be less so i agreed to it, and so i let them work on it and almost a week later received a call from an associate of theirs that they could not fix the console(3/5/22) and to pick it up and that i have to wait 30 days to file a claim to be sent elsewhere that has more skilled personnel and so i was like okay i guess its because i had gotten the asurion monthly plan and needed to wait from what i was told. So i go to pick it up and bring it back home to find out it doesn't turn on at all. See i knew it worked fine just that i could not get a hdmi signal on the tv but i could stream using my phone/tablet and so this struck me odd and i felt like i got scammed. so i go back to confront the issue and the front desk employee had asked if i was informed of the console being short fused during the repair and i had said no i wasn't and that i was only told my console couldn't be fixed and i had the receipt to prove i had dropped it off for an hdmi replacement and so i refused to take it until they sorted this issue and left the xbox there. Days later i finally got a call from the manager and he left a voicemail saying theyll fix the issue at no cost due to it being their fault and so i left it at that. Today 3/31/22 (took a month) i received a call saying my console is ready to be picked up only to be short stopped with a price of 169.99 as if all the inconvenience i had went thru was for nothing... now im awaiting an answer from their manager to figure out how and why am i being deceived about something that was caused on their end.... read more

This company was recommended by Best Buy to fix a broken charging port on my almost new Dell Laptop. First of all, each store in individually owned and operated and the customer service at all three Montgomery County stores sucked in every possible way -- rude, unprofessional and indifferent. Driving to this location in Frederick was definitely worth the trip. The staff were friendly and professional in every possible way. My repair was supposed to take five to seven days and it was ready in two. If you go, ask for Peter. He's the best. read more

Apathetic & Incompetent. I brought my broken computer (dropped it) to the Frederick store in Oct 2021. After multiple visits and conversations over the past 6 months, they have not been able to fix the problem. They simply replaced the screen - three times. When I brought my computer back today to show that the screen was still flickering (after picking it up yesterday), Peter told me that there was nothing he can do to fix it and that I was the one causing this problem (later he said that "forums online" have said it's a motherboard issue getting through quality control - despite the fact that it was fine before it was dropped). He continued to yell at me in front of my 6-year-old son "explaining" that the problem is not the screen and was with my computer. ubreakifix did the initial assessment in October, told me they could fix the problem, and accepted payment. I told him I wanted a full refund as they have not fixed my computer and that it has been 6 months without a fully functioning computer. Peter told me "he didn't care" and that they can only provide me with a 50% discount unless I wanted them to put another person's broken screen into my computer. (Initially they told me that they still had my screen to put back in - which they clearly did not.) The most difficult part about the entire process was that ubreakifix employees, as Peter clearly noted, "did not care." read more

I was so worried, and then so happy! I had a piece of the charger for my iphone break off, completely inside the phone. I tried some (internet) solutions that didn't work. I went to Verizon in Frederick because I was working in the area, (and need my phone for working on the road). Verizon told me to go to UbreakIfix and pointed to the store, across the street (Highway). I could see your store from where I was standing. I drove over there and not only were they friendly, easy to communicate with but very helpful. Jordan took the phone in the back and came back and said the technician was trying to fix it without opening it up. He did, and they refused payment. I was so pleased. The last thing you want to hear when you pick up your phone after a repair is, "Was it working when you brought it in?" I brought the working phone in to replace a swollen battery and it may not have been their fault it died. My issue is that they took 6 days to determine that it was truly dead. While I waited, I Googled the business and found comments from techs in other locations that this is a "great place to learn and get experience". I had to call them to get the bad news and the tech told me he had worked on it the night before. Both techs who worked on my phone gave the volume of repairs as a reason for delay. So, my take is they focus on easy cosmetic repairs. If it's serious and takes time, better to get a replacement right away rather than be without a device for a week and have to follow up yourself to find out they couldn't handle it. read more

I was given a timeframe of 2-3 days for a routine laptop repair. It took FIVE WEEKS, and for most of that time no one offered any reason for the delay. And the repair was done incorrectly so I had to bring my computer back in the next week so they could fix it. The shop also somehow managed to lose my laptop charger and they installed an antiquated, unsupported operating system on my device. Communication was terrible throughout. I will never bring a product into this store again. read more

I have the asurion t insurance and I took some items in today. This is with the understanding that when it was sold to me that I should just bring my items in for diagnostics and whatever needs to be fixed will be and if they can't it would be replaced. When I went in, I waited for 20+ min just for the young guy to attempt to do something, but was frustrated from the excessive line. He then went and got a guy who called himself Josh the manager. He basically shooed me away and said they don't deal with the asurion+ and that I needed to go through them without giving any info or anything. He also told me in his exact words, that the owner Ms. Evelyn doesn't know what goes on in the store. She just owns it. He said that because I asked who the owner was. The fact that this was the place that sold this package to me, made me feel so bad because for the last year I've been paying for this kind of service! This gentleman couldn't even point me in the right direction. I feel like I atleast deserved that respect especially after waiting for so long. I will be canceling immediately! read more
