Was visiting from out of state when I dropped my Pixel phone and the screen broke. If it weren't for an issue with the Google servers, they would have had us in and out within a half an hour! They were so kind and even called us with updates. When we came in the next day to get the phone, the main gentleman who helped us very thoroughly explained what he was doing when he went through the verification steps to make sure the screen and phone worked properly. He and all his coworkers were very kind and professional, not only with us, but with every customer we saw come through while we were there - including a very very difficult one. Brought my PS5 in for a persistent crashing issue that they said they had experience repairing. What followed was multiple trips back to the store over roughly two weeks. Not only did they fail to fix the original problem, the console came back in worse condition after their work. At one point it was completely unusable. Each time I brought up a new problem that had appeared after their repair, they refused to take responsibility and suggested it must have already been that way. Somehow, though, they would take the console into the back, tinker with it and get that particular issue working again, only for another problem to surface. After multiple visits, lengthy arguments and failed attempts to simply return my console to the condition it was in when I originally brought it to them, the owner/manager essentially decided they couldn't have caused any of the problems because they've "fixed hundreds of consoles." He refunded my original payment, told me not to come back and said to take any further issues up with corporate. They also repeatedly tried to insist that my original crashing problem was software-related rather than acknowledge that they simply couldn't diagnose or repair it. I ultimately took the console to a different repair shop. They determined that the crashing issue was, in fact, hardware-related and also found stressed/frayed ribbon cables inside the console. One of those damaged cables was causing my optical drive to malfunction. After replacing the damaged cable, the drive works perfectly again and the console is finally back to the functional condition it was in before I brought it to uBreakiFix. While I can't speak for every uBreakiFix location, I would absolutely avoid the Midway Dr. San Diego store for anything requiring more care or technical skill than a straightforward repair. I'd give zero stars if Google allowed it. And after the conversations I had with Sayed, I fully expect a circular explanation below about how none of this could possibly have been their responsibility. read more

Microsoft referred me to uBreakiFix to handle a warranty repair. Apparently, Microsoft has a service contract with this vendor. On the vendor website, it says that they will come to your house for an in-house repair. This is perfect for me because I am in a wheelchair, and the Surface Studio Pro 2 Desktop is Microsoft's heaviest computer. Their online appointment system was not working, so I called the downtown location first; they referred me to the Midway location. The Midway location confirmed that they do, in fact, have the ability to do in-house calls, but only if you have an insurance contract with Asurion. Otherwise, too bad. Not for any amount of money or to help out an old man in a wheelchair, will they honor their commitment and advertisement. That is just plain shameful. Shame on you & Happy Thanksgiving. read more

Also, they are REQUIRED to ask you to turn off find your Iphone in order to run the correct diagnostics on your phone for the new screen - in which, they do not here. Not only is the staff and the manager incredibly rude, but they rip you off every bit they can, even when you have insurance. I had my screen replaced today after just two weeks at a DIFFERENT location and it's perfect, a 12/10. The other location were the ones who informed me the screen this store put on my phone was after market, aka second hand - but they still charged well over $300 to replace. My screen went black with lines, it was extra dark and my phone case didn't fit on my phone correctly, and now I know why - they didn't use the correct screen on purpose, in order to increase their gains. When my screen broke after not even a week, I called and went to the store and they had nothing to say except rude words and telling me "oh well" - do not go to this location, they do not know what they're doing and if they do, they're purposely taking money from you for faulty screens and/or perhaps other things. I made an appointment at uBreakiFix Midway (San Diego) to repair the screen on my OnePlus 12 Pro through my phone insurance. The location had good reviews and was convenient, so I booked the appointment on the 22nd for June 26. When I arrived, I was told they don't have the parts for my phone. I explained that I made an appointment so the part would be ready. The staff member told me they would need to see the phone and request a deposit before ordering anything. Then he checked with their supplier and confirmed the part isn't even available. So why allow an appointment for a repair you can't do? It would be basic good practice to review incoming appointments and call the customer ahead of time if you know you don't support that phone model or don't have the parts. Instead, I wasted time going to an appointment that never should've been accepted in the first place. If you have a OnePlus or less common phone, call ahead--clearly the scheduling system and store operations are not in sync. read more

These guys, especially the manager/head repair person was a consummate professional and just an all around good person. In this line of business, there is a level of trust that is required on both ends, and this team at this location in particular, has earned mine hand over heart. I was told there were problems with the phone service provider, but I tested the phone service the multitude of times I was there and it always rang. It would appear the phone is operational but it has to be ANSWERED to make it fully functional.
