They told me to go to an AT&T store, and that they could help me! ...and couldn't even print out a map showing me how to get there! I had to ask strangers on the street to help me navigate! Sakora and Jon were my Samsung saviors! My Samsung S22 Ultra suffered a devastating fall on grates while traveling. The screen was completely blacked out, and for about 10 days, I did not know if I could access my photos. As soon as I returned home on a Saturday afternoon, I filed a claim with Asurion which listed uBreakiFix as the closest option to SF, called the store to see if I could get the phone fixed same day, and drove down to San Rafael for service. Sakora confirmed they could fix it same day so long as I arrived by a certain time. In store, I was greeted by Sakora who took care of all of the logistics, including the tech's phone access. Two hours later, Jon did his magic and my phone worked! Many thanks to both Sakora and Jon who worked together as a team to get my phone fixed. Not knowing if I could access my photos was such a stressful situation for me. I am so thankful that once I walked into the store, Sakora and Jon made the repair as stress free for me as possible. read more

An absolute, frustrating disaster. Yesterday, I brought my wife's Samsung Galaxy phone in for repairs. The guy there told me I could sign up for their monthly plan and the phone could be fixed in a day or two, when they got the necessary part, as part of the $39/month plan. I called back today to see if the part was in. I was told it was not, because it had not been ordered, and the cost would be $39 for the monthly plan plius an additional $129. The person I spoke to today refused to let me speak with the the person I talked with yesterday. She just said I was given incorrect information and the cost would be $168. A really, really scummy thing to do to a customer. NOT RECOMMENDED IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! read more

Re: Repair Order 1038007250 Other unknown: H+ CN 107828319871 | T740036 I have an Asurion Insurance plan whereby my computers, TVs etc are supposedly protected again damage and/or injury by Asurion Corporation by repairing or replacing the device if it is no longer operable. They have both a nearby facility or the item is shipped to Tennessee for service and then returned by UPS. Please take note that my primary purpose is more of a courtesy to inform the American people of a serious defect in Asurion's Insurance claim process that could severely impair rights and duties of consumers everywhere. My second purpose is to provide the back ground for my own ordeal and claim. Let me begin with a brief history and background. 1. The time period for this claim takes place from the end of October 2024 to the end of December 2024 for this laptop repair attempt. 2. After the initial service call to Asurion requesting service for my laptop, I spent an inordinate amount of time seeking instructions as to how and where to take my laptop. Ultimately, after dozens of calls, online applications and email, I was told to take the laptop to Asurion's merchant in San Rafael, called "uBreakiFix - Phone and Computer Repair" across the San Rafael Bridge. 3. My wife took the laptop to Asurion's facility and had to wait in a long line. She left for another appointment and returned later that day attempting again to leave the laptop for service since those were the instructions given by Asurion on the phone. 4. Thereafter she returned to the shop and instead of accepting the laptop, she was instructed to apply online for an approval to accept the laptop for a claim and service. 5. On November 2, 2024 and thereafter, I continued the application online and on the phone at home, I spent hours on the phone, filling out an application for service, uploading my driver's license, photographing the model number and serial number, resubmitting the documents numerous times since the picture of laptop's configuration was too small for them to read. It was not until a few days later that they finally accepted my photos of the model & serial number to ultimately allow me to take the laptop back to San Rafael store for service. 6. About a week later on November 8th 2024, I received another email that I could now physically bring in the laptop for repair. Again my wife made the trip across the bridge to bring in the laptop for service, again having to wait in a long line. Once more they refused the laptop indicating that the service had not been finally approved at their headquarters in Tennessee. 7. While at their facility, my wife called me from their store and the clerk told me that I had to first pay $141 to process the claim. They could have told me that when I was sending in the applications for service or when my wife was first there attempting to get service. So I immediately went back online, while my wife was still at the shop, and paid the fee thus allowing the shop to accept the laptop for examination. 8. Along with the laptop my wife provided the clerk with a separate new 1TB Solid State hard drive which had all the laptop's old data already installed. She left the laptop there with the SSD drive along with instructions to install the drive. 9. I was told by another email that same day from Asurion that it would now take until November 18th 2024 to examine and repair the laptop. 10. Then I received another email notice on November 16th that it would take until November 22, 2024 to complete their repair. 11. On November 25th 2024, I received another email that they couldn't repair the laptop and needed to send the laptop to Tennessee for further repair. They then sent another email promising me that by December 8th 2024 it would be fully repaired. 12. Another email delayed the repair completion date to December 13th. 13. However, on December 5, a further email said they could not repair it and they would replace the laptop itself. 14. I called Asurion and spoke to a number of different clerks who informed me that they did not have any replacement laptop to offer me. Instead they would send me a check for $321 for me to buy a replacement. I informed them that this same model cost on sale at Costco $999, plus the SSD drive I provided for about $200; the dongle with mouse $50; the data transfer from the old laptop could cost about around $200 for a total of about $1,450; however they refused to send me that amount. 15. I was quite upset. Asurion said they intended to keep the laptop, however I insisted that it needed to be returned to rescue the data still on the laptop. 16. Our discussions on the phone regarding the SSD drive was contrary to the tale first told to me by their local technician who said the laptop during its stay in San Rafael had the new drive installed and then sent everything to their Tennessee office. He was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and answered all the questions I had regarding the new warranty process. He gave me some tips to speed up future claims if I should ever need it. Although my phone was brand new, it started having screen flickering issues. They were able to troubleshoot it and get the screen replaced. I was given updates regarding estimated time to repair, when it was finished, and when it was ready for pickup. Google directed me to this location to see if the could repair my Pixel screen that had a manufacturing issue. They failed at every step. These people are complete ding dongs. 1. They said they would call me when the part came in and never did. 2. When I dropped off my phone, they said they would leave a voice message to tell me it was done but they never called with any message. 3. The repair couldn't be done, OK, but I wanted some documentation that I was here. They said they emailed me but I could not get any email from them. I left with no emails or any real paper trail. 4. Since they couldn't complete the repair due to some other damage, all I needed was for them to put in notes in the RMA so I could get a replacement. Google said that they canceled the RMA with no notes or reason. 5. I used their online form, asking them to fix their RMA issue and got no response. read more

Ugh, if there's one thing that makes me seriously consider switching from an Android to an iPhone, it is how hard it is to get a screen or battery replaced without visiting a shop like uBreakIFix. I had a really painful experience here when I smashed the screen on my Android a couple of days before taking a 2 week trip. It was important to get the screen repaired, so I drove up to this shop pronto, and took my morning meetings from the nearby Starbucks. Lots of things that went badly. The shop opened at 10 but it took them about 20-30 minutes to actually get me checked in because of some apparent system failure or bug on their end that took forever. The staff were just operating incredibly slowly too. My phone was repaired within a couple of hours and they asked for payment. As a final check, I decided to turn it on and realised that there was a cluster of dead pixels in the corner. Their faces fell when I showed that to them (I guess they hadn't visually verified it beyond the automated tests) and they had to replace the screen again. Cue another two hours of meetings in the parking lot. Except it took much longer than two hours - I saw the staff member working on my phone literally leave the shop for an hour (presumably to take a break) with one of the other staff members. Finally, when my phone was ready around 3:30PM, I turned it on and verified the screen was now working correctly. However, it no longer sat flush with the rest of the body - which was a problem. I then had to send it in for a third time and wait whilst they re-assembled it. To this date, I don't think it was re-assembled properly because since the repair, my Pixel 5 runs pretty warm and will occasionally become very sluggish when it gets very warm. But, I guess the next refresh isn't so far away. Overall, I don't think you have many options for in-person phone screen repair for Pixel devices - but I would check and double check the quality of the repair onsite before handing over your credit card. Came here to replace a cracked phone screen for an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Had to call AT&T and have them schedule a same-day appointment with Asurion. Pretty painless process: Came in, gave them our last name for the reservation, and dropped off the phone. Hung out at the Starbucks next door for a bit, but there was high traffic on repairs, so we ended up running some additional errands. All good though: Eden took care of the phone and was able to get us back up and running same day. Phone looks brand new (even had the plastic screen protector still on). Don't forget to turn your Find My settings back on your phone once the screen is brand new! Great service. Chill guys. I'd like to avoid having a return visit due to a cracked screen, but would totally do business with them again. read more

One star is too many for my unfortunate experience. I filled out their form online with all the details. I have a Samsung Galaxy S10e cell phone, and wanted a battery replacement. Although the phone worked, and still held a charge, I had had the phone for a number of years, and figured the battery was near the end of its useful life. I scheduled the appointment, and showed up on time. I was told that they'd try to replace the battery, but, apparently, when my appointment was scheduled, no one paid attention to my phone model: the S10e is smaller than the S10, so the battery for the S10 won't fit in an S10e. The polite man said they couldn't order any batteries that would fit, and suggested if I could buy one, I could return, and they'd install it for me. While this was surely not ideal, I was willing to do that. I found a replacement battery online, and some time later returned with the expectation that they'd install it for me. Here's where my experience took a particularly grim turn. The polite man at the desk apparently realized he was in over his head, so brought out a woman who appeared to be a supervisor. She was not polite (ok, she was rude), not helpful, and seemed to adhere to "the customer is always wrong rule" followed by companies who do not look forward to staying in business long. She told me that they couldn't install someone else's battery, since they were a "flagship" store (really....), and blamed me for the problem. Not once did she say what she should have: "Oh, I'm so sorry," etc. I feel for the others who work in the store. Since her behavior was completely out-of-line with a customer, I hesitate to imagine what's it like for her staff. read more

Brought my phone here. They couldn't fix it or diagnose it. They also told me the phone was dead. I knew this was not the case since it was still connecting to Bluetooth. They also told me to go to an ATT store for an insurance replacement. I knew there was no way ATT would even do that. I brought it to Crystal Wireless in San Jose, who promptly diagnosed it and fixed it for a very reasonable price. My trip to this store was a complete waste of time. Asurion is a joke and said they'd only cover the cost of the repair if it was done at this store. My next call was to Asurion to cancel my insurance. read more

I'm struggling to think of a single positive from my experience. Asurion had my phone (a Google Pixel Fold) for three weeks and it was returned to me more broken than when I provided it to them. I provided it with a non-functioning internal screen. It was provided back to me with a non-functioning internal screen and completely bricked (stuck in fastboot mode with the technician unable to resolve the issue). The phone was also shoddily reassembled. The replacement internal screen was not seated correctly and has measurable movement, and the back glass panel was not properly glued in place and is peeling. Further, customer management was completely lacking, particularly in light of the repair delays. In a similar experience to other negative reviews, with the sole exception of a call on the second day informing me that the device would not be ready for pickup by EOD, I never once received a call from any Asurion representative about the status of the repair or the delays in repairs. This is despite several assurances over multiple calls that such an update would be provided. I had to initiate all calls to get status updates on my repair. Seemingly no effort was made to expedite the repair despite Asurion not being able to fix the phone within one day. Replacement parts were still being shipped via ground, taking 5-6 days to arrive between rounds. Lastly, despite the repair being for a mere screen replacement, they still managed to mess up the device in such a way that the unbacked up data may be unrecoverable. I am still trying to work with Asurion to recover my data, so time will tell how that works out. But, being able to recover my data wouldn't win them any points here. The data should have never been at risk in the first place. Overall, this was a uniquely miserable experience and, if Google continues to use Asurion for warranty repair services, I will likely no longer purchase Pixel devices as I do not ever want to deal with Asurion's level of ineptitude again. read more

I tried just about everything to get it out and was about to start taking my Switch apart to see if that would help. I returned at 2:30pm as per the sign in the window (see photo), and no one was there. I waited around at Starbucks until 3:30pm in case I was reading this sign wrong, and no one was there. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. uBreakiFix services products for Asurion and Asurion is absolutely the WORST warranty service provider I have ever dealt with. I will NEVER buy a warranty from them again. Long story, but I've been trying to get my laptop serviced for over 6 months. Finally had it accepted for drop-off at iBreakuFix, and they couldn't fix it locally, so I was notified it was going to an Apple service center. Couple of weeks later I hear it's unable to be fixed there, so it's going to some other level of service center. I finally receive an email that it's being returned to me, but with no word on what was wrong or whether it was fixed or not. Almost 2 weeks later, I still have not received the laptop, so I checked the tracking info, which says it was delivered to iBreakuFix over a week ago. They never called me. So now, I'm waiting for them to open so I can learn what is going on with my laptop. My guess is that it was not and I will wrestle w/ Asurion to get a replacement per the warranty, which of course is close to expiring now.
