Even though I am pretty technical myself, and can solve most of my own computer problems, it's nice to have a local PC shop like PC Plus to turn to at times. Recently I needed to return my ThinkPad laptop to Lenovo for warranty repairs but needed to remove and check my M2 solid state drive (SSD) before shipping it back but didn't have a way of reading it outside of my laptop which would no longer boot up. Jervis at PC plus came to the rescue and only charged me $25 to help me out saving me the trouble of buying extra hardware to check the SSD out and several extra days of delay. I have bought several custom PCs from them in the past and have always gotten a fair deal and good service. You can find cheaper hardware prices online of course but when you need support it's nice to have a local computer shop, especially if you been frustrated by the poor level of support you get from most PC manufacturers these days. read more

If you dont know how to haggle I strongly urge everyone to stay away from this store. My mother in law tried to build a gaming computer for her husband, they took every penny out of her because of her lack of computer knowledge. If your rich (most people in down town Novato are...) then you can safely and easily drop off your PC and have whatever issue taken care of for you. If your like me...avoid this place like a bad habit. I took my project in and explained in great detail what I needed done and he wrote it down . I explained the only place I had my music on one of the devices and I was bringing it here to have it restored to the computer . I explained the sensitive nature of my the situation and that I was at risk of Losing all my music . I suggested putting the music on something else as a safety measure. The next morning I get a call that they've lost all my music. And they won't do a thing about it. Worst place ever! They did nothing more than a five-year-old to do at home and in the process lost over 2500 songs! Our Canon printer stopped working last week. Called Canon's service number and spoke with a technician who went into our computer to check the system with our consent. He advised us that the system drivers were not working, and recommended that his system technicians go into our computer to see if the problem was our computer or the printer. He said that the system check would take 45 minutes cost $189. We felt very uncomfortable having someone in our computer that we didn't know, so I called PC Plus. Jarvis immediately checked our computer and said that everything was good. He asked that I bring the printer down to his office to be checked. After 15 minutes learned that the printer was broken and that I needed to buy a new printer. His cost for the check was very reasonable. We bought a HP printer that's working fine, and are very satisfied with PC Plus' service. read more

I was blow away by how rude a gentleman was to me, Let me elaborate: I called asking an employee for an enterprise license of MS Office 2010 He transferred me to another man 'Jervis Gong'. I was referred to This place, by the Hospital I work for. After I gave him my info He said he would call me back. 'Jervis Gong' called me back, then he told me that it would be $160 for the product I told him that seemed too cheap and I need an enterprise license, He said matter-of-factly, "You don't know what you are talking about" and hung up on me. I am still blown away at how and why he would speak to me like that and hang up on me. Note to Others: Be prepared that this man Has a temper. read more

They breathed new life into my 3 year old computer! I brought my computer in to be fixed a few weeks ago and they did a fantastic job. The service, follow up, timeliness, cost and attentiveness was great. Jarvis was so helpful. They were able to fix my computer's issue completely (even though the chain store I brought it to had told me it was fine and nothing more to be done after that store ran a check on it and had even charged me). I am writing this review from my phone because my computer doesn't work thanks to PC plus. I took my computer in because I no longer had memory. I asked them to back up my files onto an external hard drive and add additional memory to my PC. They told me it would take two days and they had my computer for nine days. During that time they managed to delete my photos from my computer after backing up on the external hard drive at which point the external hard drive stopped working. So they managed to lose my photos and were unable to restore them all. Then they added memory and now my computer is so slow and keeps spinning and spinning and getting stuck and I have to keep restarting it. Then they blamed me saying that I was the one who told them to delete my pictures. Why would I tell them to delete my pictures when they were going to add more memory? Then they didn't even bother to compensate me or take money off of my bill seeing they lost most of my photos. So now I'm left with a computer that doesn't work, most of my photos missing and a huge bill!! read more

This place is a total rip off. The owner will try to squeeze every penny out of you. I initially called the store and spoke with the owner (an older asian guy) I told him that both my CD and DVD drive simultaneously stopped working and he told me to bring it in and he would give me an estimate. When I brought it in a younger kid looked at my computer and within 10 minutes fixed the problem which was a registry error. I asked the owner if I owed anything because I was never quoted a price or informed on their rates, the owner said I owed $35 for 10 minutes, I was shocked to find out they charge $350 dollars an hour. I hate greedy people. PC PLUS gets TWO big thumbs down and will never get my business again!! read more

This place seems like theyre good and honest up front, but is definitely not! I see these other two posts and yes, im sure if you dnt know much about computers they can make it seem like theyve done a lot for you for cheap, but i seriously doubt it. I brought my computer in WITH its charger and needed to replace my keyboard. However, when I got it back they only handed me my computer. Then, when i explained to them that they also had my charger they denied it. **They rely on the whole innocent until proven guilty** I know for a fact I brought it in, its not a question, and they wont admit they lost it. They went on to play stupid for roughly 20 minutes as they looked around for it, but it was obvious they were just waiting for me to give up and "admit" I do have it or something. After the 20 mins was up they RELUCTANTLY grabbed a different charger (from about the 80's) and told me it would work just the same.(even though my computer is only 2 yrs old) A horrible way to run a business. I never post anything, especially bad things about places, but thot it was necessary after this experience. Now, thats not ALL that bad, i guess, but I just really didnt appreciate how they tried to deny it and blame me. However, then i get home to realize theres a HUGE chunk missing on the side of my laptop. They obviously forgot a piece of something when putting my keyboard back together. I think this is what shows how horrible I think their services are-im not even going to go back and complain about it, they are that annoying to do business with. I paid a lot just to have them lose my charger and "repair" my keyboard minus some pieces. After al that though, this is what makes it even worse!! apparently the charger they gave me was not a "perfect fit" like they said, bc a week later my computer says i need a new battery, bc ive been using a charger thats "not compadible" with my specific battery. I came here with one simple problem, and now have MORE problems bc of them. They honestly either dont know what theyre doing, or are really lazy. But this is the last time i go here, EVER. I honestly think you should ignore those first two posts. Its a small local business, which I HATE doing this too, but honestly i think its necessary! I am not a happy camper. Brought my Compaq laptop and was helped by Jervis, whose card says he is the sales director. I needed a new battery, and he said he would order it as he didn't have one in stock. Charged my credit card $86 bucks, and said he'd call when it was in. After waiting more than a week I called them to find that it had been sitting there, they just didn't get around to calling me. When I went in I was told that the warranty was 1 year, but I received no sales receipt or anything in writing. The battery turned out to be 3rd party, not HP, and, after I had it a couple of weeks, it failed. Meantime, I went on Amazon just to compare price and found a new HP battery for $21 which I ordered. When I took the ersatz one back and asked for a refund I was told first, that it was a special order and was not returnable. When I said I hadn't been told this, Jervis then said he'd replace it. I told him I wanted a refund since he'd jacked the price up four time what I could buy it for. He then said he could not refund my money. Since he owns the place I said he could, but he wouldn't, and asked for my money back. He shouted at me that he would not return my money and I left. So much for trying to support your local business. This guy gets a big ZERO for rudeness and lack of customer service. read more
