Criminal service, underhanded practices, robbery of value. Cause of review: Screen replacement on an iphone. I'm active duty service member and was originally unreachable when the FIRST Liquid Crystal Display was installed. **Fun fact, you wouldn't want to install an LCD on a phone, it burns hotter and shortens battery life and fails sooner. 1st screen fails after a couple of weeks, they claim it's under warranty and so no big deal. They install a 2nd LCD screen and within 10 days, spotting on the screen indicating imminent failure. I inform her to take it back and ask that they honor the warranty again and we pay the difference for a proper OLED screen. After installing the OLED, they charge her full price for the OLED. I'd use the term technician but that would be too generous here. The crooked practice of misinforming a technologically ignorant user to scam more repairs out of here in my mind earns this scathing review and more. I plan to possibly escalate this issue but for now I can't muster an ounce of patience for such deplorable business practices. read more

I brought my PS5 in for an issue with the disc drive that caused an error and shut the system down. My dad clearly explained the problem and even showed them a photo of the error. All they did was turn it on and say it was fine, despite being asked to check the disc drive specifically. They promised to call back in a few hours but never did. When we went back, they admitted they hadn't even looked into it. The only positive is that they issued a refund. I ended up fixing the issue myself with a YouTube video. I recently had the hinge on my Galaxy Fold4 fail and was referred here for a warranty repair since UBreakIFix is a licensed Samsung repair center. I was happy that I had a place to bring it locally as I didn't want to hassle with shipping it to Samsung directly. They had the parts in stock to replace the hinge and said it would take a couple hours to fix. Fantastic! I came back a few hours later and the hinge was fixed and felt great, but in replacing the hinge they somehow managed to damage the bottom left side of the inner display. There was a small black dot that was not present before. I brought it to their attention and offered to replace the inner screen completely. They also changed a few of the settings on my phone and my navigation buttons, no earthly idea why they chose to do that and I was irritated but it's not the end of the world as otherwise the repair job was great. They had to order a new screen so it was going to take a few days, again a little irritating but not a huge deal. I get a text that I can come in to get the inner screen replaced. So I decided this time to put my phone into maintenance mode which keeps all your personal apps and info private (to keep them from messing with my settings again). I drop it off and it takes about 5 hours for the repair. I get the text it's ready to be picked up and when I get there and inspect it, they bypassed my maintenance mode, which is locked behind my fingerprint, and adjusted some more settings AND changes my gesture settings AGAIN. Plus they left glue all over the front display. I was justifiably upset and when I calmly voiced my displeasure she just shrugged it off. If you own a higher end foldable device or care about privacy on your device DO NOT USE UBREAKIFIX. I should have gone with my gut and sent the phone directly to Samsung. Went in for a repair and they literally broke my phone. Had a USB port replaced and then immediately after the microphone stopped working and the phone started powering down on its own. Also has moisture inside it. Due to the moisture they're denying any warranty. Literally an issue they created by not correctly sealing the phone. I recently sent my Mac in to Asurion, received it back 2 days ago and issue was still going on. Reached out same day and was advised i can drop off at a local store for service and was given this stores information along with claim # as i did verify with home tech rep, how to identify myself when I arrive. As I am heading on a flight tomorrow night for a funeral, I wanted to drop my laptop off and give them the time they will need to work on my laptop. I am WFH so asked if i can run to store and drop off, I get there and thankfully store is empty at 3:30ish P.M 12/26. Gentleman came out, asked what was going on. I explained a bit, had my claim # ready and he asked for my phone number. I gave it to him he said "nothing in my system" I asked if he can search via claim # he said no and advised me, I would have to call them, so I did. I have Kim on the line with home tech and she verified everything was correct and she said she was going to call them, as I am already here I went back in store and handed phone to Jason (whos name I did have to ask for was not freely provided) same gentleman that told me to call. The rep went over a few things with him, he seemed a bit annoyed and told her the same thing he told me, Kim advised Jason she can cancel the claim made day before and resend another one if he can confirm, he told her "well I would not be able to do this right now, not sure when, maybe tomorrow?". She then asked if maybe he can reach out to the stores tech team to see why my information which was confirmed with store day before, via phone, was not showing up. He rolled his eyes and said "not sure when that will be possible". The home tech paused and asked to hand phone back to customer. I also want to add that I did ask, while the recorded phone call was going on "can I give you my phone number again to check?" as maybe I said it wrong or he typed it wrong, he did not acknowledge that question but did look at me when I asked. No sense of urgency, unresponsiveness, seemed bothered that I was in his store and did not seem to want to help me. Thank you Jason for making this week, that much more stressful. Spoke to Nate who handled my PS5, I ripped the Wi-Fi antenna prong by accident on the circuit board. It was doable, luckily he had a donor PS4 board lying around, it used the same antenna prong. He was able to repair the antenna and soldered the hardware to the board. He asked me to come to the back where everyone was doing work so he can show me proof of his work. Nate took me as a walk-in and had me out in less than 1 hour. I was able to consult with him first by sending a clear photo of what the problem was. Of course this usually takes 3-5 days turn around for consoles, but this was a fast and easy thing. The front desk lady was even nice enough to put on a movie for my daughter on the TV. I took my phone into this location about a month ago when I dropped it and cracked the screen. Apparently I damaged it pretty good because it was just over $300 to repair (out of pocket...I forgot to turn on the insurance when I switched cell carriers. Big mistake....ugh). 2 days later the charging port stopped working on the phone and the phone could only be charged wirelessly. Not the end of the world but definitely a HUGE inconvenience considering how much I travel for work. I called uBreakiFix to tell them what happened, as it is a pretty big sign that hardware on my phone failed right after I had hardware replaced there. The man on the phone denied any mistakes on their part without even asking me to bring the phone in to be looked at. He told me that he has seen charging port errors on my model phone lately and that it was just a cRaZy coincidence that right after I had my phone repaired there, the charging port stopped working. He told me that the port is covered under manufacturer's warranty and they would replace it for free (thanks?) but he had to order the part and would reach out when it arrived. Weeks later, he never did. My fiancee' ended up taking my phone in to the Point Loma location to be repaired, hoping for better service. This place was decent. Luckily I used them through asurion so I'm billed $50 on my next phone bill for a new screen. Their regular non insurance replacement was astronomical. They fixed and restored my phone to like new condition. Customer service wasn't spectacular. Quoted me 1-2 hours repair time. I left a contact number for them and I was assured they'd call when done. I never received a call and wound up going back about four hours later. 5 stars for the work they did, 2 stars for their customer service. read more

Honest people, probably not the cheapest but they gave me a full refund after I returned the next day when my cracked screen repair failed. No fault of their own, the drop of the cell phone caused more damage than a cracked screen and instead of saying "sorry, we did our job and replaced your screen" they tried a new screen and then said "sorry it's something more internal". Then they opened the register and handed me the $100 in cash back that I paid the day prior and put my cracked screen back in (because they still had it in my file and hadn't tossed it yet) and let me know that regardless if the cracked screen I still might be able to get a trade in credit. My daughter's screen cracked on her iphone 12, we took it into UBreakifix and the first screen seemed good at first but then it started tweaking around the edges. I took it in again the lady behind the counter was really rude and told us to go fly a kite, the manager came out and looked at the phone and said alright I'll replace the screen this time only. Sure enough a few weeks go by and low and behold suddenly there's a black dot on the screen and it begins to grow like and an ink spot going from purple to blue then black. I took it back to the guy and figured maybe we could go with an actual apple screen this time instead of the generic ones we'd been using and I'd pay the difference since these screen seemed to be defective. When I walked in the gentleman behind the counter looked at the phone and said, oh it's not the screen it's the phone, your phone is broken. Then he described to me exactly what happens when a phone is broken, "black dot shows up and grows and it looks like an ink stain, yeah well that means the phone is broken, sorry can't help you, you'll need a new phone." LIAR!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT UNSCRUPULOUS GUY TOTALLY LIED, I ran over to the ATT store across the way and one of the really kind people there told me the phone was not broken it just needed a new screen. They told me to run it over to the Apple store and let them check it out, sure enough they were right. I am very impressed with the people over at the ATT store they could have taken advantage of me but they didn't. I'm staying with ATT for life. I highly recommend them now, big time! The phone is working perfectly now that the people at the Apple store replaced my daughter's screen. Do not trust UBreakiFix they are LIARS, and they don't stand behind their products. read more

Had my Pixel 2 serviced by them last year for water damage. Noticed the screen wasn't flush with the case when I received it and didn't think much of it at the time. Upgraded to the 6 and didn't use the 2 again until recently. Randomly the screen went black and is completely off save 4 pixels that light up red/blue. The squeeze function works still and the finger print still recognizes me so the phone works. When I asked them about the price they said 150 even though google themselves does the repair for 80. On top of that, they were going to add 30 dollars to "diagnose" the repair when their website says its free. Don't go here. I don't understand how they're "google certified". read more

When we went to pick it up, after they reversed all the attempted repairs (battery, charger port solder, screen), they then offered to fix the motherboard but it would take 10 days. I agreed. After 7 days and paying $190, the phone was returned and worked! Within a week the front facing camera stopped working, then the entire phone again. I brought it back and they said they would send out back to the manufacturer. After a few days they called me and said the phone is irreparable. Oh well, "big deal", I thought, "I'll just bring my iPhone X that needs a new screen and have them replace the screen." I knew the screen was broke because I watched it fade and die, but it still worked. When I went to pick up the iPhone 11 the guy was a jerk and refused to change the screen, probably because he was poise mad that he had to refund me the $190 cash for the 11. He was rude as heck!
