I brought my daughter's Iphone15 in last month because her screen was frozen. I found Oscar to be very helpful and friendly. He said there were a few things they could try before I committed to buying a new screen. It turned out she had some water in there and I ended up buying their insurance plan because it's better than the deal I would have received from my carrier. They did the job and was able to return my teen's phone the following day. There was a small discrepancy on the price I would initially pay for the screen and my final price at pick up. They did give me the cheaper of the two, thank goodness because It was a significant amount. These phone and their repairs aren't cheap. Tech: Oscar Perry TLDR: DONT GO HERE FOR ANYTHING COMPUTER RELATED. This is a poorly run corporate company. They don't care about customers at all. I brought my 2019 Mac Pro in on a Saturday because this was the only shop open at the time. I was having trouble with a battery at zero/not charging. The issue was later diagnosed as a failing T2 power rail that was collapsing under thermal stress and draining the system battery to zero. This is extremely common on 2019 T2 macs. a computer shop would have techs that know this or take 1 min to use an LLM to diagnose. before pulling the battery. The shop did not identify the underlying fault. Oscar disconnected the battery which forces the T2 chip into a cold boot state. Removing the battery is not what you want to do on a 2019 mac It's going to cause PMIC components or the logic board to fail. I'm going to guess that Oscar simply did not know this. The alternative is that he did know this, and didn't care. This triggered a kernel panic the next day, then my computer completely failed to boot. Based on my experience, this location is not equipped for Apple diagnostics or T2-related power issues. a reputable shop would have advised me on this, now I need a new I9 logic board or a new mac. DONT GO HERE for any COMPUTING NEEDS , go to a qualified computer repair shop with technicians who are qualified and can actually do work on your computer if it needs it. I paid 120$ to learn this. Instead I paid a guy to disconnect my battery and charge me 120$ and now I need a new computer. Called on Monday The guy on the phone said bring it in and they can see what they can do. What are you going to do? you couldn't diagnose that disconnecting the battery was the wrong move in the 1st place. You're definitely not going to diagnose anything if it's a: PPBUS_g3H rail PMIC T2 power rail or a USBC charge controller Issue much less get parts and put it in. Again a computer repair shop would have this covered. And advise you in the 1st place. This company is a bad actor, plain and simple. They seem more interested in scamming hardworking people than providing honest, reliable service. As a 100% disabled combat veteran, I find it sickening that businesses like this can take advantage of others without any accountability. It has now been over a month since I requested a full refund, and I have yet to receive a response from your store. I am deeply disappointed by this lack of communication and action. Unfortunately with this store they care more about sales than they do customer care. I went in because my daughter's phone was unfortunately not charging or holding a charge. The were eager to help by stating the device required a new battery because the battery heath had dropped to 80% (my device has been at 76% and still functions properly). I agreed to have the devices battery replaced upon their "professional" opinion that this was the issue. Unfortunately this was not the issue so as I return to the store I am now notified that the reason is because she doesn't have enough storage with the latest iOS update from apple. That is why the battery is draining. I explain that the $230 battery they said would fix the problem is all the money I would've had to fix/ buy a new phone. My 1st screen replacement defective. 2nd incompatible. 3. Price trap - When their cheap build fails, I was asked to pay REAL OEM which costs ~50% more of original pay. 4. Customer service black hole - (3+) calls to get to real customer assistant, (2+) days waiting for a case manager assigned, (9+) emails with no settled solution. 5. Asurion insurance trap - It'll take 3+ calls to cancel--especially if store assistant input the wrong phone number for my account. 6. Took my Xbox down since it had problems booting up. They had my Xbox for nearly 3 weeks and called me saying it's something with the motherboard and they don't do motherboard repairs. Took it to another repair shop and had it back working the next day. All it had was a faulty power supply, the guys here said they tried a new power supply to no avail. Makes me wonder if they even worked on my Xbox in the 2 1/2 weeks they had it. This business will always have a special place in my heart. They were able to retrieve valuable family photos from an iphone of mine that went dead on a trip to Washington state several years ago. I took it to a store in Seattle that spent an hour in a futile attempt to bring it back from the dead. They told me that I had little chance of getting the photos back unless I was willing to spend a lot of money to get it to work again. uBreakiFix had the iphone back on within 30 minutes and transferred the photos to my icloud account for a grand total of $65. I'm really glad I didn't get rid of the iphone and gave uBreakiFix a chance to get my photos. The two women I dealt with at the store were knowledgeable and friendly. This place is top notch. With all the money that I spent on my phone, it's nice to have uBreakiFix there to fix my phone under insurance. They are quick & responsive and they can help you walk through what you need to do to get your insurance to cover a repair. I had a broken screen and needed to get back to work fast as this was for my work phone and I couldn't just leave it there for days on end. They got it fixed very quickly and I was able to pick it up in a timely manner. I was helped by both Mike and Arlene who are excellent employees. I have been here before for my young daughter's phone when she has broken her screen a couple of times and they were always there to help. Dont go here! Dont use their services. Horrible customer service from management, they wouldnt even take my phone call and was not at store when issues happen. I dropped off a device to be diagnosed and serviced. I was called to pick up the device and told it was working properly. I get home and test it and its not working. So i call them and told to bring back. When i bring back i asked questions and was basically told it was my fault it got dirty in the car drive back home. First lie, second lie they said my device was tested and was working before i picked it up, totally impossible. I left device to see if they would do right by their mistake. Second trip i phoned ahead of time and was assured my device was tested and running properly, arrived to find out it was not working still, third lie. If any effort was put in to fixing my device you could hear the internal fan was not working and needed to be replaced. I asked to speak to management but was giving to a repair tech instead, he assured me he tested my device by watching youtube videos, fourth lie i dont have youtube on my device. When they got on phone with management who was not there they wouldnt even speak to me they were too busy. After second wasted trip i had to wait two weeks for a fan, fan got installed and seems to be working properly so far after inspection and testing on the third trip, but they left my hardware screws out which i missed seeing until i was almost home. So 3 trips, 4.5 hours of driving, gas money, time off work, countless lies, horrible customer service. You make the choice if you would like to take a chance. I cancelled my Asurion home+ policy as well i will take my money to competent business where i am valued. read more

I had superficial cracks on my iPhone's front display that was also affecting my front camera. I took it here to get it fixed. Ended up paying $300. Came back to pick it up and they replaced the screen, but the camera was still broken. Was told it was a motherboard issue. The sole reason I did this was to trade this phone in to upgrade to a new one. My carrier will not accept a phone with a broken camera for any value. So I'm out $300. Would not have gone through with the service if I knew this was the outcome. I wish they would have just left it apart. read more

It should be noted that this location was opened only a few months ago, hence the lack of reviews. However, this is not my first experience with uBreakiFix. My first experience was last year at the S.Virginia location (https://www.yelp.com/biz/ubreakifix-reno), where I'd gone to get an out-of-warranty gaming console repaired. That experience went well enough (or so I thought) and I ended up with a seemingly functional console shortly afterward. However, about 4-5 months later (and well after the service warranty period), my console refused to start up, update, or do anything really. In fact, the new issue was actually worse than the original one that'd caused me to seek a repair shop. I used Yelp's multiservice quote feature to put out feelers for another repair shop. The original uBreakiFix (at S.Virginia) was included. Surprisingly, this location (N.McCarran) was the first to respond. That's the first point of praise. I took my console to the location that'd responded first (N.McCarran), because why not and also it was closer to where I live. There, I learned that not only was the location a new one, but it was not connected to the other location except by name/brand (independent franchise). Brandon, one of the managers there, was awesome from start to finish. He examined my console and discovered that a major software error had occurred during the initial repair! The console's hard drive had been divided into seven partitions, thus creating a ticking time bomb for it to run out of space prematurely (which would lead to the problems I've described). The fix was a quick and simple one -- just a basic formatting of the drive to get rid of the useless partitions. Voila, a functional console, and because I'd patronized the other uBreakiFix shop for the first (bad) repair, he didn't charge me a dime for the actual fix. It should be noted that Brandon could've easily screwed me in the interest of profit. He could've said that the hard drive was faulty and a new one would have to be ordered. It would've cost me $150 and he'd be able to fake the repair without me ever knowing otherwise (unless I decided to disassemble my console to inspect the work after it was done, and even then, it wouldn't be totally obvious). If I were completely technologically inept, detecting such fakery would've been impossible. None of this happened. In fact, Brandon was well within his rights to charge a service fee for just the simple formatting. That didn't happen either; he was honest and upfront about the issue and what he did to solve it. This sort of integrity should be highly valued. Whenever I have an experience this positive, I try to reward it with any business I can. The following day, I made a point of bringing in my smartphone to have the built-in battery replaced. The experience was similarly smooth, so now we're two for two. I happily paid for the service and now my battery is at 100% health. Good stuff. Currently, there are two other reviews on this page, one of which is a single star. The user in this case complained that this location was "unable to fix or figure out what was wrong with [their] phone," and claims that the staff, although "nice enough," was nonresponsive throughout their experience. Yelp ratings are certainly a subjective thing, but even assuming everything was true, I don't believe it warrants the worst rating possible. I'm also fairly familiar with smartphone technology -- what sort of impossibly undetectable problem could you possibly have that isn't PEBKAC? All in all, here I am with an all-around satisfactory experience. The shop is clean, quiet, well maintained and the staff is friendly, professional and effective. I see no reason to deny them a high rating and will patronize them again in the future. read more

They can't do anything to fix what they ruined, they told us to send it to Samsung directly since the motherboard got fried. I brought this phone to them because it's under Samsung warranty. I had an area of damaged pixels on my LCD that I was hesitant to get it fixed since it didn't bother me and the phone was working great!! My husband convinced me to bring it in since it was still under warranty. The front camera was blurry after they fixed the LCD and now days later, my phone is dead!!! I don't trust this shop. My kid smashed our Nintendo Switch in a rage when he lost a Pokemon battle, breaking the LED inside the unit. We took it to uBreakiFix, and they replaced the LED. However, it was only when the screen was replaced did we discover that other components of the Switch were broken too. We took the Switch back and their technicians discovered the problem and replaced the additional broken parts...at no charge. Great experience. They reset my phone to replace the screen on my phone, no idea how both of them are related. The only option to get screen replaced was to loose all data and setup on the phone. If you want to keep your data safe and secure , go to a independent repair store, who are capable of replacing a screen(or any other hardware) without having to reset your phone. They also did not call to let me know the status of the device, I had to call to check if the phone was done. read more
