This morning I took my dead 2019 PC computer to uBreakiFix. I had already diagnosed the problem as a faulty RAM issue probably requiring the replacement of my RAM chips. All that I wanted to do was revive the machine. The repair technician Valerie confirmed my analysis. As the machine had two RAM chips, one 8 GB, the other 4 GB, she suggested that it might be possible to revive the machine if the 4 GB chip was defective. Simply taking it out would leave an 7 GB RAM chip which was sufficient for the machine to run. So she took it out, we rebooted the machine, and to my pleasant surprise it worked. As I plan to buy a new PC immediately, the 8 GB RAM chip will suffice for my needs. Valarie saved me the ~$125 cost of a new 16 GB RAM chip. She refused to accept any payment for her work. read more

I actually brought my iPad in because I needed a new screen a few months ago. They were great and I was very happy. Yesterday morning before thanksgiving I couldn't turn my iPad on. it kept flashing the little apple icon and was locked up. I use it for personal and work and really can be without it for long. I figured day before thanksgiving that I'm not going to see this thing again till at least Monday which would be brutal. Instead I got a call later that day that it was fixed and ready. I went and picked it up. I don't know if it was under warranty or what but there was no charge. Ive been here twice now and extremely happy with their service both times. This is how my PlayStation 5 controller was returned back to me after paying $100 to have the Stick Drift issues resolved and controllers cleaned. (There was a second controller just as bad but not photographed) Not so fun fact; the stick drift issues were not revolved on either controller. Imagine paying $100 to have an issue fixed and controllers cleaned only for the issue to not be resolved and to be handed back controllers that were THIS dirty. read more

My experience has been excellent with Asurion in Thousand Oaks, CA. It was recommended to me by an IT person at a Senior Center nearby. I took my Dell laptop in for an estimate to repair a screen that had slowly become very loose on one side. Taylor was excellent, gave me a reasonable estimate. I told him that due to my schedule and needs, I cannot leave my laptop with him, and if possible, would prefer to wait for it after he ordered the parts. I assumed it wouldn't take more than 2 hours. We set up an appointment for 5 days later and I brought my laptop in and though Taylor seemed a bit busy, asked if I could come back in about 5 hours. I told him I can't, as I need to be out of there within 2.5 hours. He worked on the laptop immediately and got it fixed - within an hour! Very much appreciated! Taylor had a good sense of humor also. I would highly recommend this shop and especially with Taylor, who is the manager. read more

My son broke is iPad & went to take it in Thursday AM. They told me my device would be ready Saturday by 3PM. They called me Thursday PM , saying they would have my device ready Friday. I got my hopes up and called Friday... nothing was done & they needed to order the equipment. Gave them another call Saturday, the equipment was delayed.... BEWARE - Poor Service & No Accountability at uBreakiFix Thousand Oaks I went into the uBreakiFix location on Thousand Oaks Blvd for a simple charging port cleaning on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. While there, the technician pointed out a small chip in my screen and pressured me into a screen replacement, assuring me it would only take 35 minutes and they had the part in stock. I was on my lunch break and in a time crunch, but I agreed based on their assurance. Big mistake. After 45 minutes, I was handed my phone. It looked fine--until seconds later, as I walked out, the screen suddenly went black and unresponsive. I immediately walked back in and told the technician. He said he'd never seen that happen and asked if their senior tech, Val, could take a look. While I was waiting, I overheard Val say, "If the screen was installed right, this wouldn't happen." Val later informed me the technician who worked on my phone was brand new. He asked me to leave the phone so they could diagnose it further. I returned after work and was told they tried multiple screens, including an OEM one, but the phone still wouldn't power on. Val said the District Manager would come by soon, and if they couldn't fix it, they'd replace the phone--and also cover professional data recovery to retrieve the 3,000+ irreplaceable photos I had, including ones of my newborn children. But that promise fell apart. Days passed--no update. I followed up, and Val said the District Manager never showed up. Eventually, I got a call from Taylor, their Regional Manager, who offered a replacement iPhone 13 Pro Max, but said I would need to cover the cost of data recovery myself. I made it very clear I was not okay with that, especially after being guaranteed otherwise by Val. I also expressed my disappointment that instead of offering a more current phone for all the inconvenience and emotional distress, they insisted on replacing my damaged phone with the same outdated model. Today, I received a final update from Taylor: they will only replace the phone and will not cover any of the data recovery costs--despite their staff admitting fault and making verbal guarantees. This entire ordeal started with a simple cleaning request, and I ended up with a non-functioning phone and potentially lost memories that cannot be replaced. uBreakiFix Thousand Oaks has shown a shocking lack of responsibility, accountability, and customer care. If you value your device, your data, or being treated fairly-- DO NOT go to uBreakiFix in Thousand Oaks. You're better off dealing directly with the manufacturer. At least then you know you're getting professionals--not untrained staff and broken promises. read more

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS. My Samsung Galaxy Note 22 decided to not work. The screen only had input at the bottom half. Freaking out I rant to AT&T and they sent me to these guys. Aliyah was working the front counter. She was super friendly and very helpfull. Told me the screen repair will be about 2 hours. Less than 2 hours later, I got a call that my phone was ready. Complete waste of time. Went in earlier in the week to get the front screen replaced on my phone and due to the time was asked to come after Thanksgiving on Friday. Drove over 45min again to drop off the phone and when it was time to pick it up was told sorry they couldn't fix it and to call Asurion. When they gave my phone back there was a small pin like crack in front of my rear cameras that wasn't there before. When asked where did this come from, they had no answers and gave me the run around that the technicians all went home when it was clear they were in the back whispering to the poor girl that they sent to deal with me. This place is shady. Never experienced this kind of service at other ubreakifix/Asurion stores. Do not trust this place and go to anther Asurion/ubreakifix location. Judging by other reviews this isn't the first time a customer brought in something and they made it worse. read more

uBreakiFix is my go-to for cell phone issues before considering the carrier. They helped my son with his cell phone issues, so I gave them a try. I've been in there a few times now with different issues on different phones and each time, they "fixed" what I "broke" on my phones. At this latest visit, (3/13/2025) Taylor was the man! He patiently worked it step by step to get an old abandoned i-phone working again. My favorite app quit working on my Android, (my phone of choice). The app provided confirmed after they upgraded it this year, it no longer plays on Androids. Taylor resurrected this 5 yr old i-phone by going thru several checks, new passwords & several steps I don't even know of. If you guys want to come to this location, PLEASE make SURE the person you're speaking to is competent enough. Prior to going to this store, I spoke to someone and told them that I have a claim and need to replace my phone battery. I asked them if I could still go there and get it fixed. They said yeah just come by and we'll fix it. After 30-40 minutes of driving, I arrived and when I spoke to them this guy tells me they won't be able to do it anymore because of the time. I told him I spoke to someone and they told me that they can get it done and didn't mention anything about the time except that the repair would take 90 minutes long. All he could say was sorry. What makes me really upset is the fact that they made me drive 30-40 minutes for nothing and have the audacity to tell me there's nothing they can do other than come back on Monday. Next time, tell your customers the truth. I think they deserve that much if time is the issue then tell me instead of having me drive for nothing other than waste my time and gas. read more

Waste of time. I made an appointment and arrived on time for it. Store told me that they were only open another hour and 45 minutes and could not help me today. I was given an option to leave my device for an indeterminate amount of time or come back another day, preferably at opening time. Why make a service appointment and then tell people to just leave? My time has value and you just wasted it. I've replaced batteries in iPhones myself and it can be done in less than an hour, but apparently not at Asurion in Thousand Oaks. This place is excellent. I went in with my Samsung phone, which displayed a message indicating it was not connected to a network. After the technician performed a quick check to ensure there were no issues with my phone, it was determined that the problem was with my provider. The technician kindly allowed me to use his phone to call my provider and re-establish my phone's network connection. He was very patiently as I dealt with the call center on his phone, and my issues were resolved. No charge! read more

Took my wife's working pixel phone in to get a simple battery replacement and when I didn't get a call in the two to three hours they said I would, I called them just before closing only to find out they had ruined her phone. I was told by Edison that I could take it to Oxnard to see if they could fix it or I could wait for a week for another battery. So I took it to another local repair shop and was told that the phone had been overheated during the attempted repair process and they fried it, It's now trash! I couldn't even get a "I'm sorry" or any kind of decent help from Edison! I understand stuff happens during repair sometimes but you think they would be a little bit more sympathetic and help you replace - repair or whatever but they're useless and just don't care. Actually got her phone back taking apart. Unacceptable! It ended up costing us $600 for a new phone, Thanks. Both times I've been here, the techs have been so helpful with resolving my issues. The first time I went in, I had my ears buds charging case blocked with dust so they fixed it at no charge. In and out in less than 5 minutes. The 2nd time was a couple of days ago. I had my phone's charging port blocked with dust so once again, they cleaned it out at no charge. If I should ever need a more extensive repair with my phone, I would definitely come here again. Their customer service has been nothing but superior. They were able to call me around noon with an estimate of what needed to be fixed and a quote. Was able to pick up the phone in the evening same day before they closed. They were able to add battery change as well. No posted prices for services made it a bit confusing. You get a discount if you buy multiple services. They did a very quick, fantastic job fixing my camera lens. Much easier process than expected!

Just know that if you sign up with Asurion with them that they will not be able to cancel the subscription for you. They will gladly sale you a subscription and talk it up when you are there store but good luck getting them to cancel it. My phone screen broke and they wanted me to pay for a new screen just so they can transfer the data. Note that broken screen is not covered by Asurion. Waste of money in my opinion. read more
