Had them repair my PS5 which had stopped turning on. After having it for a few days, they decided that it was the motherboard. $270 repair after taxes. Not too bad...about what you'd pay anywhere (and nearly the same as Sony charges). 3 business day turn around turned into about 6 business days. Not a huge deal but a little annoying. Would settle on 4 stars but the guy at the counter initially tried to talk me into a $50 diagnostic fee. Their website says that diagnostics are free and he dropped it after a gentle reminder of that, but I found that annoying and a little predatory. Anyway, PS5 turns on again and I didn't have to send to Sony for a refurb with a memory wipe and it comes with a bit of a warranty so I'm happy enough w the service. read more

I was sent here for a second opinion after my GPU died during a routine laptop cleaning at the 39th street location of Asurion/UBreakiFix. I was told they would look at my laptop and to come back in 3 hours. When I came back, I learned the tech had not looked at it and actually wanted to charge me $50 for a "deep diagnostic" that would take 5-6 days because of the backlog. This is laughable; their marketing everywhere says all diagnostics are free. I guess diagnostics are free unless they're diagnosing how one of their techs broke your device -- then you have to pay for it and wait a week. Can't speak to their technical knowledge or skill at this location because I decided not to get scammed further by this company. They'll gladly take your money, gaslight you when they break your machine, then keep charging you more money before they'll even consider fixing it. I raised the broken GPU issue to corporate and they said my device is not covered by their warranty because they can't prove my GPU was working when I brought it in, since the tech did not do a diagnostic before working on my laptop. I know my laptop was perfectly healthy the morning I brought it in. Because of their negligence, I now have to pay $1500 to replace my PC. read more

I had to go here to get a new battery for my Samsung s9 since my warranty covers it and it was going to expire in 2 days. This place is super busy as they have customers coming in and out by the hour. I can only imagine the workload that they have for the tiny place from 10am - 8pm.. They have a room in the front for the customets and one in the back where the employees all work and do there magic. Everyone was friendly and well knowledgeable on the phones that needed to be repaired. Just know to give yourself some buffer room as the phones won't be done in the estimated time since they get so many. read more

Honestly I'd say this is the worse place to go to get ANYTHING repaired . I dropped my PlayStation 4 Pro off on Nov. 27th for the repairs needed . I had to call them numerous times and bring my self to the store asking them when would it be finished and I kept getting "dead end " answers like " oh we don't have the tools for the repair yet " or "we still have to diagnose the PlayStation before the repair " or even "come tomorrow I'll have it ready " . I'm tired . So I reached out to UBreakIFix on the 23rd of Dec and spoke to a man about my PlayStation and he said that due to the inconvenience he'll discount me on my repair by 30$ my repair was 130 so he would be doing me a favor in a way. a guy named Humsha I'm not sure how to spell it but I spoke to him and he claims he's the manager but on Dec 24th I entered the store to pick up my PlayStation 4 Pro and first he says it's taken apart that it's not going to be done today , then I said " well it needs to be done by today and I'm not leaving until it is , it's been awhile now and I need my PlayStation you guys have took well over 3 weeks for this repair and it doesn't make any sense why it isn't finished " so then he says "don't worry I'll have it done by today and free of charge due to the inconvenience " and I said really that's amazing I appreciate that . So when I get home I checked my PlayStation and they didn't do anything because I have multiple errors on my console which doesn't make sense because it's been well over 3 weeks in the repair shop and for them to just give me back my PlayStation free of charge seems to me like no work was done at all on it. All of the issues that I've had before i brought it in are still there they did nothing but waste my time !!! So they were basically going to charge me 130$ for nothing!! honestly wouldn't recommend anybody to go here at all they just want your money and don't wanna fix anything and when I was trying to explain what was going on , the store manager pursued to pick up an incoming phone call and spoke to them and interrupted me when I was trying to explain something . He claims he's the new store manager but he isn't doing good already . Ignoring customers and picking up phone calls when there's other people in the store who can take the call which there was the other guy name Chris. This place has recently changed management. I had a very bad experience with the old store manager. Not only they didn't fix my phone (and charged $150+), but they were also rude when I went back to the store and asked them to refund my money. I would give 1 star to this experience. I called customer support, and they asked me to go back to the store and speak to the new store manager. The new manager was extremely kind. He verified the charging port of my phone was not working properly, and he gave me a full refund. 5-star experience this time. Overall, I am rating this business 4-stars. They could have been more proactive in addressing my problem, but the new manager turned a very bad experience into a positive one. read more

Had an appointment "confirmed" on July 4th for a 2-5pm time slot via Verizon. Drove in from New Jersey at 10am hoping to get an earlier appointment. The hours on the door say they open at 11am, even though online it said 10am. Waited outside for 2 hours until 12pm and store never opened. No signs outside the store stating they won't be open today or anything of that sort. Called the store multiple times, no one answered, nor was there a message stating they wouldn't be open on 4th of July. Called Verizon and had them contact the store with the same results, and was told by Verizon rep to come back between 2-5pm because it was by appointment, and the appointment was confirmed by the store, so even though the store hasn't opened, someone would be there during my time slot. Came back at 2pm and waited another hour with the same results. I called Verizon the next day to let them know of the situation and they called the store and were told that there was a sign on the door that said they were closed, which was a complete lie! I get it, it's a holiday, I didn't expect them to be opened..but why "confirm" an appointment when you know you won't open the store? And why wouldn't you put any signs on the store and/or leave a voice message on the answering machine stating you won't be opened?...very unprofessional and unacceptable! I ended up making another appointment at the ubreakifix location near Washington Sq Park because I was told by Verizon that these stores were independently owned. Customer service goes a long way and I refuse to give my business to a business that operates in an unprofessional manner as such. read more

I have been coming here for years and never had an issue, but after this most recent experience, I felt compelled to tell my story and to warn people before coming to this location. I brought my phone in for repair and was first told it needed a new battery. Fine. After an hour I am told they actually need to replace the entire motherboard. This is a very expensive part. I asked, will it fix the phone and bring it back to how it was? They said yes. After 2 more hours the motherboard is now replaced. However, the phone was not the same as it was - in fact it now had none of my original data on it and acted like a new phone. None of this info was disclosed. Had it been disclosed, I would have chosen to make an insurance claim and receive the same results for hundreds of dollars less (nearly $550 less). BUT WAIT - even worse, the 'repaired' phone did not work correctly! The facial recognition and voice to text did not work (I may discover more issues still). I brought the phone back but they could only fix the facial recognition feature. When I asked about the voice to text, they said, 'not our problem.' I pleaded politely both visits for anything to be done - either to compensate at ALL for not disclosing that my phone would be factory reset AND for not being able to fix the voice to text feature that clearly worked before I brought it in. They asked me to please leave the store and call corporate. I did so, and corporate could provide no help. Kurram in particular was extremely rude. I wasn't asking for much, literally ANYTHING to either get my phone to work properly (despite the $550 overcharge) would have satisfied me, or ANY acceptance of liability for not letting me approve a factory reset. Instead they raised voices, were rude, and dismissive. All in front of other customers who can attest to this. Please save yourself the grief. These guys are only in it for their own profit and don't care if you could go through insurance or manufacturer to save yourself some money. And they don't even care to try to explain themselves after. Shame on you. read more

Had an appointment for battery replacement. Was told phone could be done in 2 hours. When I arrived was told it wouldn't be done for 8 hours. When I mentioned that I am a frontline healthcare worker and I only left the hospital to come get my phone fixed, the gentleman told me "the line is the line, and it doesn't matter that you're a frontline worker." I am not asking for special treatment, but I really needed this place to do exactly what they agreed to since I have a lot of clinical commitments, and I think most people understand that. Incredibly disenchanted and somewhat demoralized by this blatant lack of empathy. I did not have a 4 star experience yesterday. If you have all day to waste on changing the battery on your phone this is the place for you. I think the 4 hr ordeal was because the people that work there. First they save it will take 2 hrs and then you return it is another hour as the first battery they put in was broken. However, there is no place to wait one lonely chair, no one wearing masks even tough 2 signs posted, techs going in and out for smoke breaks and when this ordeal was done nothing to sanitize the phone. This is a group of young urban people that have no rush in their step. when I was there of the 4 people that I saw no one walked out with a fixed phone. Had my device fixed and returned to it's original factory condition; I was so happy when my device was returned and none of the apps were deleted, so I didn't have to really re-install anything. Bottom line up front: I paid $152.41 and my phone is still not fixed. I don't recommend this store. I recommend you ship your phone to your manufacturer or choose another company. I paid $152.41 to get my phone screen fixed, but it started to malfunction again within 3 weeks. I brought the phone back into store, but they wouldn't honor their 90 day warranty. Essentially, I have not received the service I paid for. After 3 weeks, my screen start malfunctioning again. I brought it in again to get it fixed under their 90-day warranty. When I received the phone, they said it passed the test for the second time. However, after I checked my phone, it was not fixed. I complained and demanded to get it fixed, but now they said they cannot fix it because of the water damage which was the oxidized port. They wanted me to pay additional $129 to replace the port before they can fix the screen. I explained to them that the problem is the screen, not the port. The port has been oxidized for quite a while and they accepted it in my first appointment. They didn't mention anything about my port being oxidized or water damaged. As a result, I paid them $152.41 and my phone is still broken. Why did the store accepted my phone in the first appointment and told me it passed the test even if my port is oxidized? Why do I need to pay for the new port if the technician said my phone passed the first and second tests? read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I had an appointment before the holidays at the Newark Ave store in Jersey City, and when I arrived I found the store closed. I made the appointment and confirmed it 3 or 4 days in advance for 10 am at the Jersey Ave, Jersey City store. I got there a few minutes early. They were not open. I waited until 10:20 am, at which point I had to leave for a meeting. I tried calling and got a very long phone tree and finally left a voice message. I also tried emailing the email that confirmed my appointment and texted the number that confirmed my appointment via text. They have completely blown me off and have not bothered to reach out to me. Making a mistake or having someone call in sick last minute happens -- but it is what a company does when it has made a mistake that defines it. This business did not even bother to apologize for completely blowing me off. I guess they don't need my money or my business. read more

Brought my phone back in after getting it repaired there less than 90 days when my screen died. I called ahead and they told me they would have covered it in the 90 day guarantee if there was no damage on my part. Unfortunately there was non visible liquid damage so it wasn't covered, but they have me a 100 dollar discount on the 2nd repair. They were quite busy that day and they said it would take 1.5 hours to get the phone back. But quickly seeing that we had a conflict, they made it work and got me my phone back in 15 minutes!
