Super yum. Second time back here and will keep coming. The sushi is so fresh and delicious. Everything is so thoughtful. The only thing was the lychee martini was delicious but not strong at all for that price. Next time I will try something else. My favorites of the night was the waygu tartare, we even put in a second order just to try it again. The zen roll was our second favorite but everything was delicious. Service was slower than last time but they were a full house so we knew what to expect. Already can't wait to go back.
Uchi is dangerous for people like me. Not because of the raw fish. Because the place understands seduction. I've been eating at Uchi since it opened in Denver and today it still carries that same intoxicating balance of precision, warmth, swagger, and restraint. The room itself glows instead of shouts. Wood slats divide the dining room into little private theaters while the sushi counter hums with focused choreography. Expert hands moving constantly. Rice. Fish. Quiet communication. Tiny acts of discipline repeated hundreds of times a night. I sat down intending to have a civilized happy hour. That plan lasted maybe twelve minutes. The kurodai crudo arrived first. Gooseberry, leche de tigre, candied garlic. Bright, sharp, and alive. This is the kind of starter that wakes up your entire palate and you are reminded that you will absolutely be spending more money than originally intended. Next was the bincho temaki: cool albacore, kimchi, avocado, and a vividly garish orange sauce with some heat to keep the richness from becoming too much. Uchi understands something many restaurants don't: luxuriousness needs balance. Fatty fish without acid, spice, crunch, or brightness is palate exhaustion. And then one after another the deliciousness continued: the oysters were cold and perfect with cucumber, calamansi vinegar, and umeboshi. The day boat scallop nigiri nearly stopped time altogether. Just sweet scallops, rice, citrus, a little finishing salt. Incréable. Or whatever the French word is for "I briefly forgot my own name." And somewhere during martini number one, the staff adopted me. Apparently Uchi keeps notes on guests. Mine, I was told, says I'm "nice and a good eater," which may be the most flattering thing anyone has said to me in months. Suddenly more dishes started appearing. Gifted nigiri. Ikura glowing like little amber jewels (my favorite). A ridiculous and completely delicious carrot toro maki with green chili crunch and enough heat underneath the richness to make the whole thing flirt openly with your mouth. At one point the bartenders literally invented a "walu walu shot" on the fly just because the mood had drifted into improvisational chaos. This was somewhere between oyster shooter, seafood dare, and excellent bad decisions. Meanwhile, the guests next to me started talking to me and the entire energy of the evening shifted into communal sushi-bar joy. Suddenly we were all reacting to dishes, laughing, comparing bites, participating in the same ecosystem of salt, fish, alcohol, and temporary human connection. This is the real thing Uchi sells. Not merely sushi. Attention. Rhythm. Atmosphere. Memory. The feeling of being folded into a beautifully functioning machine dedicated entirely to pleasure. And yes, by the end I was emotional enough to remember being 20 years old eating sushi with an older woman named Alana who wore real fur and introduced me to this whole sensual adult world in the first place. That is what a martini and exceptional nigiri will do to a man. The final bill before tip was somehow only $141, which honestly feels mathematically impossible considering I briefly entered a spiritual relationship with the sushi counter. I tipped $50 because at that point we were basically family. Uchi remains one of the sexiest restaurants in Denver. Not performatively sexy. Not influencer sexy. Actually sexy. Confident. Observant. Generous. Precise. And just dangerous enough to make you order one more thing. Amazing dining experience.

This is a fancy sushi place with excellent service. Friends and I sat at the bar & our bartender, Alex, was the best. I let her know I was vegan & she brought out the vegetarian menu & recommended the items that could be made vegan. I had the mapo dofu (made with soft tofu) and it was delicious! I also tried a vegan nigiri AND she hooked me up with a vegan tapioca desert that had pickled blueberries...sooooo good.
Uchi was the perfect place for an intimate birthday dinner. The atmosphere is elevated, and the service was attentive throughout the entire meal. We had the somakase, and every dish seemed better than the last. The hama chili and walu walu were phenomenal. From the quality of the food to the overall experience, this was easily one of the best meals I've had in Denver. A must try for anyone who appreciates exceptional sushi, great service, and an experience that feels special from beginning to end.
Uchi was recommended to me by a friend, who actually told me about the Texas locations previously. So, I was really happy to know that one also exists in Denver! It was my first time going to a Uchi even though it is a chain, and I had only heard great things so I had high expectations. We ordered a bunch of items off the menu. They were all delicious and the sashimi was very fresh. Each dish felt very intentional based on the presentation and proportions of the dish. It felt like we were eating "tapas" throughout the night because of the small portions. The only thing I did not like was the chicken karage - it had a very weird aftertaste which I think might have been attributed by the pickle flavor? We ended the night with the fried milk for dessert, which was so great. My friends and I joked we would be coming back and solely ordering the fried milk next time since we loved it so much.
Came here for date night, it has the right lighting for a date vibe or an upscale dinner. Service is great here, servers are very attentive and offer suggestions if asked. Food was good! We ordered a bunch off the menu: shrimp and chicken karaage, two sushi rolls, sashimi, specialty drinks, hot sake, and dessert. I regret not taking photos of the menu but the sashimi we ordered was off the Toyosu market menu, which means the fish is flown in from Japan. It was yellowtail. Very tasty! The rolls were very good too. My boyfriend loved the karaage. The cocktails were pretty damn good. I had a spicy mezcal drink that I thought was very refreshing. The dessert was amazing! It was a banana cake with ice cream, miso caramel and some kind of crumb that was chef's kiss. The restaurant is pricey but I think it reflects the quality of service and food. I would come back but this place is definitely more of a special occasion type of place.
Absolutely wonderful experience, Uchi has skyrocketed to the top of my restaurant experiences in Denver! I dined solo and sat at the sushi bar, which ended up being the best possible way to experience the restaurant. Jessie was my sushi chef and truly made the entire night, his recommendations were spot-on from start to finish. The ambiance in the restaurant is fantastic. The restaurant was packed even on a Sunday night, which really says something but I was still able to find street parking close by. I started with the Uchi gin and tonic which has the addition of yuzu cordial, and it was refreshing and bright without being overly sweet. They also have a great selection of Japanese whiskey and sake. The first dish I ordered was the Hama Chili which contained yellowtail, ponzu, Thai chili, and orange supreme. This was phenomenal. The balance of sweet and spicy was perfect and the dish felt incredibly fresh. When I asked Jessie for a recommendation, he suggested the Masu Crudo which had butternut squash curry, apple, and beet chips. This is something I never would have gravitated toward on my own, and it completely blew me away and it ended up being one of my favorite dishes of the night. Another standout was the Tanin Bune (sea urchin and salmon roe) which also wouldn't have been my first instinct to order, but Jessie so kindly gifted it as his favorite piece and I'm so glad he did because it was absolute perfection and one of the most memorable bites of the night. Everything about this experience felt very intentional, from the food to the service to the atmosphere. Sitting at the sushi bar made the night feel interactive and fun, even as a solo diner. Uchi is something really special, and I am already looking forward to coming back!
Uchi is perfection. Time after time, they grant customers with such an elite culinary experience full of fresh fish and delicious drinks. They're most famous for their happy hour, though my friend and I came for "regular dinner" last time. I also realized they have several other locations across the country - good for them! On this particular visit, we had the sea bream, yellowtail, kosho toro maki, mapo dofu, and mango tapioca. Everything was melt-in-your-mouth good and collectively filling - which is always a surprise. Think quality over quantity. Every visit is memorable, and I can't wait to go again. We always seem to have a gift card to use. Make sure you get a reservation!
Had a really positive experience at Uchi. The service stood out right away--our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive, especially when it came to checking for allergies, which I really appreciated. The menu is on the pricier side, but the quality and flavor of the food absolutely justify it. Everything we tried was fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and genuinely delicious. That said, the menu is very shareable. We dined with a group of six and ordered about 1-2 items per person, which worked well and allowed everyone to try a variety of dishes. The ambiance was great as well: a lively sushi bar area paired with plenty of table seating throughout the restaurant, making it feel both energetic and comfortable. Valet parking is an option, otherwise all street parking. Overall, Uchi delivered on food, service, and atmosphere. Definitely worth it for a special night out!
Love the food here I live one hour away- but we decided to come back and try some other items since the food is truly delicious One thing to note is service is a bit slow if you add items as you eat, so I recommend ordering everything right away if you're on a "Time crunch" like we were with a baby at home Also note that it's not mentioned on gift cards but they don't let you stack them with any other dine in promotions regardless- quality of dishes are one of the best of Denver
Great sushi spot with creative takes on traditional sushi dishes. What doesn't bring it to 5 stars is that not many of the dishes rose to the level of "amazing" or even "memorable". We had a private dinner in their back room which fits about 20 people. It's nice because they have sliding glass doors which provide privacy but you can still see the restaurant. We had a 10 course meal with a variety of sushi, rolls, salad, cooked fish, sashimi, and meat. Some of the sushi was inventive and they managed the fishiness of fish like mackerel. Some of the sushi nigiri didn't quite pack a great amount of punch so they were good but forgettable. Some dishes really were unique like the salmon belly, the malu malu, and the wagyu. And the fried milk dessert was amazing. But again, from start to finish it was a little uneven. Service was fantastic and the drinks were very good. All in all we had a great time but it doesn't quite reach the level of the best of the best.

Absolutely amazing first-time dining experience here! My husband and I went with the Omakase + some additional dishes, and it was so hard to choose -- they have such a rare variety of fish on offer. Our Omakase included a daily special recommended by sushi chef Christopher, along with kingfish and kanpachi. My favorites were the kingfish nigiri, flounder fin nigiri, and Santa Barbara uni nigiri. Everything was incredibly fresh, and you could tell the team puts real effort into balancing flavor while preserving the freshness of each ingredient in every dish. We also had a great conversation with Chef Christopher about the fish we love -- a really nice personal touch. Our only nitpick: the salt seasoning was a touch too strong on a few dishes. read more
Awe man. So sad. Uchi lost its vibe for me. Usually slither right in at 4 pm and quickly sat before the crowd sets in. Take advantage of the happy hour menu. This time made reservations, celebrating cancer free update. Yay. We were sat in nonstop sun in my face table. Service wasn't sincere as usual. Food was fine, just fine. Usually every bite I smile with the perfection of it all. This time, couldn't wait to leave. Didn't feel special. Didn't hold the value to me. Bummer. I politely let them k ow at the front stand as I left, out of respect. My dining guest was telephoned Not me who left my number. Again, showing lack of respect to detail. One of the coolest spots I've been to in Denver. The decor, servers, plating, etc. make me feel like I'm in a different city in the best way. We went for happy hour (highly recommend) and tried their omakase. The happy hour omakase was a great deal, just make sure to go with someone else since it comes in sets of 2. The courses were well timed and our server was delightful. She made sure to explain each course and was incredibly attentive to drinks, timing, preferences, etc., even though it was incredibly busy. She even brought out some extra nigiri (scallop) when we mentioned we'd like as much seafood as possible, which turned out to be my favorite bite of the night! The drinks and meal itself to die for. I had a kocha drink, which was refreshing and light. For the omakase we started off with a lettuce, radish, and edamame salad, then moved onto hamachi sashimi, salmon roll, tuna collar, mapo tofu, salmon and yellowtail nigiri, pork chop, and scallop nigiri, ending the night with coconut tapioca. If I explained how thoroughly I enjoyed each dish, this review would be 20 pages long. I will say the meal was very balanced and had a great progression from lighter to heavier flavors, and each dish was devoured! There were combinations I wasn't expecting that I was delightfully surprised by. I was also SO incredibly full after so I wouldn't be concerned about portion size. Overall, will most definitely be coming back and bring friends/family here again too! read more

I've known/dined at Uchi at their OG ATX location, then had it in Dallas (it worked out really well for a work trip with folks with food sensitivities and Uchi is super accommodating) and NOW enjoyed Uchi Denver! We sat at the bar for happy hour (daily 4pm - 6pm) but ended up basically eating a full meal because everything so was so delicious: *hama chili (yellowtail, ponzu, thai chili, orange supreme) - $11.5 on happy hour and $23.5 on the regular menu so this was a great value! * beef carpaccio (crispy shallot, jalapeño vinaigrette, horseradish) - $9 on happy hour * tsukune meatball (chicken, ginger, negi, soy aioli - $11) *pork chop katsu (bone-in chop, apple purée, truffle soy - 29) - this was SO good. the best katsu i've had in a while. The truffle soy was sooo umami and the apple puree was perfect. * squash blossom tempura (red curry, nuoc mam, chili oil) - love and respect a good squash blossom which this was...but the flavors here are Vietnamese and a bit random? There were better dishes. I also ordered hotate (scallop) and uni off-menu! We also had the fried milk dessert (vanilla custard, salted fudge, toasted blondie) this was stupid good. The fried milk was like...mini donut holes filled like popping boba. So special! read more
Probably one of the more underrated sushi spots in Denver, Uchi delivers a great dining experience with quality food and excellent service. For the Denver area, it's hard to find a better sushi spot for the price you'll pay. The omakase was very good and if your first time dining at Uchi, I wouldn't recommend another option. The service is top notch and my only complaint would be that it can be hard to hear if it's very crowded. read more
I've been to a sushi place to two... this place is top notch. Sake selection is good but a bit overpriced though bottles other restaurants have for around 30 are closer to 50 here pretty sure it was a dassai 39 I drew the comparison from. The food was fantastic. Don't skip the dry aged fish order one of every sushi on the menu and you'll be alright! The bar keeper serving me was very well versed in sake and it was a pleasure to talk to her about it. It's nice inside. read more
We've been to a few Uchi establishments and never would we ever expect anything less than spectacular. This was no exception. We only came for happy hour/pre-dinner, but could easily have stayed for more. The service is impeccable and just so friendly. We walked in and were able to grab a spot at the sushi bar, which we were surprised by. The food took a skosh longer than we expected but still super reasonable, especially for HH. I would eat anything they put into a handroll and presented to me. But my favorite ended up being the pork belly with carrot and goat cheese. It shouldn't work but it does. And the HH drinks are so cheap that I can't imagine living in this area and not coming here for HH all the time. read more
Ever since our Great experience at Uchi Houston, been wanting to check out all of the Uchis. While the service was not as great (a bit slow and no complimentary dishes) as in Houston, we still had an excellent time. Having been to uchi in Miami and Austin and uchi Ko in Miami, we knew it was going to be a great meal. But, wow, the omakase at uchi Denver blew us away. Every bite was as good as the last. This Japanese restaurant in Rino has been on my bucket list for years. I made a reservation thru my OpenTable app for 4pm. Good thing. When I arrived I was in a group of 30 people waiting to enter. The sushi bar filled up quickly, so I got a table nearby. My server, Billy introduced himself. He said the regular menu was also available. I started with the seasonal spritz made with seadonal shrub, sparkling wine & vermouth. My first HH choice was Bincho Temaki, a hand roll with albacore & kimchi. It was served with a dipping sauce. I noticed no Tamara or soy sauce on the tables. Next was a half order from the regular menu of their Uchi salad. A creative version similar to a lettuce wrap with a daikon spear and a crunchy jalapeno-edamane and cashew pesto sauce. Yummy. I added the HH whitefish nuggets and the HH pork belly. Both very good. My next drink was a 2 oz pour of Mars Iwai "Tradition" whiskey. Billy asked if I wanted a big rock or cubes of ice. I opted for cubes. As the ice gradually melts, it softened the whiskey. I ordered the Spicy Crunchy Salmon, but Billy said the sushi bar was swamped and it would be 20 minutes. I went ahead and got more food including the Crispy Rice with Gyutoro. When the salmon roll arrived, it was smaller than expected for $16.50; I got the HH Tapioca pudding with a Ume Punch. So I went whole hog for this bucket list place. No service charge. read more

Uchi is amazing. The waitress was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately they were out of the bluefin caviar and the pork katsu. Let's see. I did not get photos of everything but included some here. Lobster miso- this is a butter/cream soup not like miso like broth. All of the nigiri was perfect seasoned (as expected!) The blue fin 10/10 recommend! I really wish we were able to have the caviar. The bone marrow was wonderful. Very rich - I do wish it came with maybe some water crackers?? Not sure if I am asking for a culinary faux pas but like oysters I just like some of these types of dishes with crackers. Pro-tip- they have a very decent hh! read more
This is my first trip to Uchi outside of Texas, where I have been to the Austin, Dallas, and Houston locations. I actually did not realize it expanded into other cities. We drove to Denver yesterday and anticipated the meal because Eric R.'s sister told us she made reservations. That gave us the needed window of time to drive here and make two stops for refueling en route. We were seated in a really cool u-shaped table facing the sushi bar and kitchen hallway, so we could watch all sorts of amazing food come out regularly. Our server Jamison was helpful in explaining the menu options and recommending favorites. Eric R. ordered hot sencha tea and a aoi toki cocktail, his sister got a glass of rose, and I had a yuzu sparkling mocktail. We ordered some food to share and some nigiri for ourselves. To share: -shiki (seasonal vegetable tempura) was Japanese beet with a mushroom tsuyu -zero sen roll with yellowtail -soft shell crab roll -ora king salmon sashimi with kiwi We were also gifted a hirame usuzukuri which was a nice surprise. For individual pieces, I got akami, sake toro, kingfish, kurodai (black bream), okami (tuna tartare and caviar) gunkan, uni gunkan, and shime saba. Both Eric R. and his sister ordered the lobster miso butter hot dish which they both loved (I tried some and it was very tasty). Per Jamison's recommendation, they both got sides of sushi rice and covered it in the leftover sauce, also a great idea! We finished with the fried milk dessert, with fried custard, salted fudge, ice crean, and blondie crumbles, Both of them squirted custard on their wrists somehow, but I survived un-custarded. The service throughout the meal was phenomenal. Water carafes were constantly being replenished, water glasses refilled, and empty plates taken away by various staff. This is definitely a fun place to dine, and there are so many options, including a customized omakase per diners' individual tastes. Itadakimasu! read more

I was at Uchi Denver for a team dinner and was a little worried about the venue since I'm vegetarian. I was pleasantly surprised to note that there were plenty of vegetarian options for me - starting with a daikon and kale appetizer followed by mapo tofu. The mushroom fried rice was quite yummy. The waiter made it a point to explain the various dishes( what they were) to us since we ordered family style. They mentioned the seafood was flown in from Japan. The lychee martini lacked flavor and did not smell like lychees at all. The only other complaint I have is that one of the waiters refused to take a group photo of the team( despite asking him twice). We got someone else to take pictures. But other than that Uchi was a great experience and team bonding event in an upscale ambience. read more
At first appearance, I loved being able to view the rooftop greenhouse knowing these freshly grown herbs would be contributing to my dinner. Our reservation was rather early, but it was a treat finding out there was a Saturday happy hour. We honestly tried almost every piece of sushi on the menu and nothing was short of amazing. Uchi has a great ambiance--perfect for a date night since it's not too loud, making conversation easy. The service was incredibly kind and attentive, and the food quality was solid. That said, the portions were way too small, even for a tapas-style menu. Despite ordering multiple dishes, it still wasn't very satisfying. We were already there for happy hour too for a better deal. But this place came highly recommended by many denver locals. Coming from southern california, I have experienced better japanese food at this price The yellowtail collar was a highlight--the meat was incredibly soft and flavorful. When I tell you I miss good sushi in Florida, I mean it. Uchi is the closest we have gotten to consistently delicious fish dishes with tons of flavor. The staff is always friendly, and they have a fantastic happy hour. We've sat at both tables and the sushi bar, and both experiences have been delightful. We love to enjoy the happy hour as you can sample a wide variety of dishes at a good price. Can't go wrong with trying a little bit of everything! Our favorites are the Walu Walu and Hama Chili. We typically order multiple of them because it's so good! The restaurant is always packed, so make sure to make a reservation if you can, but they can usually fit walk ins as well. Hello! We offer happy hour every day, with the exception of a couple holidays. It runs between 4:00-6:00pm.
