This is a more hipster vibe sushi restaurant. They have a fully stocked bar. Service was good despite there being a party on the patio. Food was good. The ramen was a bit spicier than anticipated but overall everything was tasty. Food is a bit overpriced for what you get.

5 star food and service at Mizu Izakaya! Our experience made for a perfect, fun Friday Date night. I came for the crispy spicy tuna and it was easily the best I've had. We also really enjoyed the chili wontons, pork belly skewers, and Kobe beef buns - all were super high quality and packed with flavor. We didn't care for the cucumber salad - the large chunks just didn't take on any flavor and felt like eating plain cucumber. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is very high energy and can be loud (there's a live DJ), but we had a wonderful experience on the patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We moved to Denver from Atlanta and having a really hard time finding good Asian/sushi place. We came to Mizu Izakaya to give it a try since we were craving some sushi and small bites. My husband and I came during happy hour to try some of the items out. The sushi rice was too mushy for the rolls. And the appetizers are just okay. I would hate to pay full price for the items we got but for happy hour it was not bad. We tried out some appetizers. Probably wouldn't go back for a while but willing to go back to try other stuff from the regular menu.

Mizu Izakaya was a bit of a letdown. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant doesn't quite match the upmarket photos online, it's fairly cramped and, as others have mentioned, has more of a clubby vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was friendly though and the staff were clearly working very hard on a busy night. We ordered several items from the happy hour menu, but when they were made gluten free, the prices doubled, which was a surprise when the check arrived. They could also do with more vegan options. I'm glad I tried it, but with so many excellent sushi options in Denver, and other great places in this same area, I don't see myself returning.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I have always had a great experience when dining in here - the ambiance is great, the servers are wonderful, and the sushi is very good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have ordered delivery from here 3-4x, and it is extremely subpar. This past time was the worst - could not even eat half of the sushi because the salmon was just chewy. Treat yourself to this place for dine in - I would not recommend their takeout.

I stopped by this spot after catching a candlelight orchestra performance nearby and was craving some sushi--and this place definitely delivered, just not in the way I expected. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I walked in, it felt more like a club than a traditional restaurant. The music was loud, the energy was high, and the crowd was definitely on the younger side.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Honestly, I've never really experienced anything quite like it--part restaurant, part nightlife vibe--but it was kind of cool in its own way.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered sushi along with a seaweed salad and an Old Fashioned. The food was actually really good--fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot after the show. [[HIGHLIGHT]]That said, if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing dinner, this probably isn't your place. But if you're open to a lively atmosphere and something a little different, it's a fun experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I enjoyed my food, soaked in the vibe, and left glad I gave it a try.

A beautiful restaurant and great place to go if you're celebrating a birthday. I HIGHLY recommend getting a reservation because this place is really popular! (for good reason) Like I said, the restaurant is beautiful. You'll want to dress decent -- the patrons here dressed chic and trendy. It's warm inside so you'll be protected from the elements and your outfit will be saved lol. The food here was really good! I had the miso soup, my boyfriend had the tonkotsu ramen and we shared the Sea Monster Roll. Miso soup -- 10/10. Miso soup is already a comforting soup but what I particularly liked about Mizu Izakaya's miso soup is that they add mushrooms! It added a nice depth. Sea Monster Roll -- 10/10. Very fresh fish and overall a good roll. I'm from Los Angeles so I'm spoiled with good sushi at my every turn. This spot rivals some of the best sushi I've had in my hometown. Birthday cake -- 15/10. So fun, festive and really makes the honoree feel special! When my bf slipped away to the bathroom, I asked our waitress if they do anything for birthdays and requested a celebration for my sweetheart. At the end of our meal, the waitress brough out a slice of cheesecake with berries and a fun sparkler! It was great. My s/o was floored and had a huge smile on his face :') Plus, the cheesecake was just really, really good!!

This is probably one of my favorite Denver restaurants. On Friday and Saturday nights they have a DJ which is so fun and festive! The food is also delicious, my favorite roll to get is a salmon avocado but then I add mango.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful ambiance, great service and excellent quality fish.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The chicken rice bowl was tasty, as was the eel avocado roll. The sashimi brunch special was my favorite, 8 pieces of beautiful tender fish. So good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The covered wrap around patio made for a wonderful lunch![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Delicious sushi and beautiful seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]An oasis in the airport for sure.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Vegan sushi available. Also quick self checkout grab and go option

Uncle is a small, Asian fusion shrine that one should place on your must visit list. In the Northwest area of Denver, Uncle has limited seating and a show if you sit at the bar. Reservations are strongly suggested and well worth the wait. Crazy combinations, flavor bombs throughout and a culinary delight you won't regret. Tonight, we sat at the bar and watched the magic happen. These guys are cranking out amazing and delectable treats you won't forget. The Uncle salad was a great starter with charred cabbage, lemongrass, mint, cilantro, arugula, and peanuts lightly coated in a Thai coconut dressing. A slight burn only leaving you to crave just one more bite, ha! The fried soft shell crab in a bao bun with green papayo slaw, coconut mayo and cilantro nam prik was sweet, perfect crunch and memorable. Two for two with one dish left. The cold spicy sesame noodles with seasoned chicken, granny Smith apple slivers, arugula, cashews and nanami togorashi, a perfect closing dish for an exceptional meal. The service, food quality, flavors and preformance from the bar seats were second to none. The concept, portion size, flavor and cost were a real treat in the big city food scene of Denver. If you haven't been here yet, get to the internet and book a table, I promise you won't regret it. To the staff, chefs, and all members of Uncle, thank you for a surprising and incredibly great meal, we will return on our future trips to Denver.

They also have a few izakaya options perfect for sharing. * Black Tonkotsu $18 - The Little Guy got this and slurped the whole thing up, even the wood ear mushrooms which he usually leaves behind. He actually asked to return the next day because he loved it so much and just loved it. 5/5 * Menya Special $16.50 - I got this one and it was fine.
