Take out- Kani Salad @Sashimi Sampler@Spicy Crispy Tuna 2 Piece Salmon Roe
    Cassi S.

Great sushi take out option. I ordered Ikura sashimi, Kani salad, spicy tuna roll and sashimi platter. They had a buy one get one for sashimi and roll. The fish was fresh and not fishy (especially the ikura which can be hit or miss places). The Kani came in a hefty portion and did not lack with the amount of roe which I appreciated. It was fresh and flavorful!

So Yum!! I had a ton of different things, but my main entree was the Tri-Color Sushi, which is 2 pcs tuna, 2 pcs salmon, 2 pcs yellowtail and a spicy tuna roll. Super tasty. The yellowtail had an interesting crunch. I loved it all!

Excellent food and service! The sashimi is always very fresh and tasty! The price is really unbeatable esp in Cherry Creek North neighborhood. Staff is always friendly! Highly recommend!!!

Stopped in for dinner before heading to the airport. This restaurant is located in a cute nook on the lower level of some shopping plazas. We were seated quickly and brought waters before having our orders taken. I used my Yelp check-in for a free hot Saki! Can't beat that. I decided on the lobster tempura roll. Our waiters was super friendly and accommodating. My friends are very "picky" eaters lol (they want everything deep fried, fried hard or well-done lol IYKYK) and our waitress was very patient and ensured everyone would enjoy their meal to their liking. We were brought a complimentary cucumber appetizer (I wish I remembered the correct name). It was delicious, sweet and refreshing. My tempura rolls were so yummy. Presentation was also beautiful. Beware, only one restroom stall.

Overall, a bang up experience. Hidden gem in Cherry Creek that's real easy to miss. It's on Steele St. just down the stairs. This always reminds me of mountain towns or bigger cities. Don't sleep on Hasu! A few of us dined in last Monday night and it was practically empty inside the restaurant, sans one table. They gave us the booth right near the front windows, which was plenty of room for the three of us. We held off on drinks, but loaded up on sushi and appetizers. For apps we ordered the tuna taco, crab cheese wontons and pork gyoza. All of it was solid. The rangoons were especially tasty with a tangy dipping sauce. Gyoza had good flavor, too. I ended up downing most of the tuna tacos, which looked like they were overly marinated, but ended up being a delectable choice as well. We ordered the sashimi platter for two, which was very reasonably priced for the amount of food it comes with. Salmon, tuna, yellowtail and a few others that I'm drawing a blank on as I write this. Sashimi and nigiri for both, with an additional, simple roll. All tasted fairly fresh and was well assembled. Not much to complain about. I think the atmosphere leaves something to the imagination, it seems like it could use a refresh. But maybe that's because it was empty on a weeknight. I can see myself returning to try more items and get my sushi fix!

Ordered: Yellowtail Jalapeño (~$29)…read moreRock Shrimp Tempura (~$27): with butter ponzu & creamy spicy sauces Black Cod With Miso (~$39): 6oz cod in sweet miso Aya's take: I'm a big fan of Chef Nobu and was excited but also surprised to learn that there are 3 Matsuhisa locations here in Colorado! Considering the only other US location is in California, I was surprised and knew this would be my opportunity to try it! The aesthetic is modern & elevated with Japanese wooden features. I got 3 classic dishes which was just the right amount of food. I honestly recommend coming with a group to try more items since you know everything will be delicious. The Yellowtail Jalapeño is a signature dish; the yellowtail was delicate & buttery and the citrus soy with the bight of jalapeño made each bite clean, bright, with some subtle heat. I did not expect the Rock Shrimp Tempura to be that good! The shrimp was lightly battered & fried but the sauces were the highlights! Their creamy spicy is a very well-done spicy mayo but the butter ponzu was unreal! Super addictive, rich, and unlike any sauce I've had before. Shout out to my waitress for suggesting getting both sauces on the side rather than lathered on the shrimp, which also kept it crispy. Last but certainly not least is the famous Black Cod! The fish is super buttery and flaky; there were some caramelized edges from the miso glaze which added so much depth & richness to the bite. It's a good balance of sweetness, savoriness, umami that is bound to be good. All in all, so grateful I got to try what many call an institution and will certainly try more of chef Nobu's restaurants.

Some of courses were delicious and some were mediocre. We spent almost $700 for a party of four. The situation that needs the most improvement was the pace of the meal. The courses were separated by a 20-30-minute wait time. Considering that the courses were very small and contained 5-6 pieces for a party of four... that equates to a little more than a small bite every 20-30 minutes. The dinner took 2.5 hours to develop, and we were honestly still hungry by the end. The waiter started asking us if were "still hungry" at about the fifth courses. By the end, we felt awkward in asking for more. The wagyu beef was particularly disappointing as the beef was somewhat chewy, lacking taste and small. Waiters seemed to be near their capacity of workload. Didn't really take the time to serve, walk you thru the menus, keep the service moving or even gauge your level of satisfaction. We ordered dessert to celebrate the birthday. Apart from a small chocolate plaque on the dessert that said, "happy birthday", there was no attempt to celebrate the occasion as other less exclusive restaurants do... no "happy birthday" wish, no courtesy dessert... nothing special. The best part of this meal was by far, the young couple that accompanied us. Friendly advice: if you want to impress a client with something the feels exclusive... this may be the place. If you are looking for amazing food, being pampered and feeling your money was "well spent", try another place. I don't plan to visit this restaurant soon.

Parking can be annoying (if you come to Cherry Creek you know it sucks) but once you're inside, it's great We got sat at this cute table that was set up, kind of like a cattycorner booth, perfect for two. Our server Marvis was great, he greeted us so quickly and talked through his recommendations for cocktails. I ended up trying the Yuzu margarita, which he said was the best drink on the menu, and I absolutely loved it. My friend had a lemon drop and also thought it was perfect. We started with the magic mushrooms appetizer - I almost looked past this but It wasn't mushrooms at all. (Thank god). It was really unique and yummy. I thought maybe they could elevate it a little more by adding some additional seasoning to the shrimp or even leaving it raw to accentuate the cold avocado in the center., but it was still really good. The nigiris were the standouts of the evening. - we tried the seared Ahi tuna, the grilled scallop, and the Unagi. Words cannot describe. If I could make a meal out of Nigiri alone, I would but with just two pieces per serving. It definitely adds up quick. We also got the big kahuna roll and the Pittsburgh roll. The big kahuna was delicious, with a spicy kick at the end thanks to the jalapeño. had a lot of depth of flavors and good texture. We finished off with the Ube crème brûlée, which was really rich and very Ube forward, definitely a unique and yummy dish. Prices are pretty standard for the area, for all this we each ended up paying about $80. Can't wait to come back and try more, and hopefully sit in Marvis' section again!

I came in alone, sat at the bar, and ordered a beer, sake, and maguro and shake sashimi (I made a point to specify, since we've received nigiri by mistake before). The order still came out as nigiri, and when I asked to have it corrected, the server told me, "when you don't specify, nigiri is default." I reiterated that I had ordered sashimi, and he took the dishes back to the chefs just a few paces down the bar and said, "she didn't ask for this, but we need to redo these as sashimi." After that, I asked for my check because the interaction felt unprofessional. When he returned, he asked if I wanted the sushi to go, and I said no. He then went back to the chefs and said, "I don't know what's wrong with her," and asked them to cancel the order. I still tipped on my bill, but I left disappointed. We'll continue coming back because we've always loved this place, but I hope the service is more respectful and consistent in the future.

That Arby 1/2 pound and 2 milks pulled me out of a funk in a hurry, and my afternoon went so much better from that small kindness. Imagine my dismay when 2 days later, with my Friday evening slot set for 2 hours of much needed libation, celebration and food with family and friends, we came to a place without even a welcome. When one drops $1000 for an anticipated culinary experience, mind you, I'm not pretentious--having been Ed Your Waiter back in the day at Pizza Hut--I did in my naïvete expect a cursory or even curt greeting from the manager. We didn't get that. We were 4 hungry yet happy souls expecting basic restaurant decorum, and didn't even get that. We did get a non-smiling curmudgeonesque man in a bolo tie who seemed angry with us for God knows what reason. I know this because he reconned our table twice and angrily bussed a few dishes off our table. Sidenote--I do as a necessity get my steak rare, every single time. While not germaine to your knowledge of me personally, our server, when I declared this, countered, " OK--OUR steaks come out rare as a baseline, so YOURS will be rare-rare, we good?." Fair enough. After a reasonable seafood tower that languished on our table for well over half hour after we'd finished, I was then served a medium-rare steak. My brussel spouts attacked the palate with manically pickled onions that were perhaps drizzled accidentally with horsey-sauce ( from Arbys?). This meal was an utter disappointment, and dampened the celebration of our son's acceptance into medical school. We're headed to Oahu where we anticipate a better experience at Black Angus. We hadn't been to 801 Cherry Creek in 7 years. The bathroom was clean, so there is that. We won 't be back.
