Visited UFC Gym with my friend for a kickboxing class. Upon entering I was greeted by a nice lady. She had us scan a QR code and fill out a form and sign a waiver. She showed us around the gym. It was a bit small compared to others but they had all the workout equipment and space needed to do what you needed to do. They have a bunch of other type of classes like jiu jitsu, boxing, muay thai, and yoga. We began classes at the exact time it was supposed to start. I liked the music that was playing. It made you really hyped and ready to get started. The warm-up was REALLY intense for a beginner class. I would have liked if it was a bit more step by step since it was entirely new to me. We were then shown some basic movements for boxing and that was more repeated to grasp and we hit the punching bags. I never sweated so much! Be ready to get a major workout! When leaving we were able to grab free food samples from Made Meals Co! They deliver meals that are made with local and organic ingredients. I had grilled chicken, broccoli, and sweet potatoes. Definitely helped restore my energy! Overall I liked the experience but I definitely think I needed a more basic and step by step class to ease my way in. read more

im really disappointed. Im giving 2 stars because I've gone to this gym back in 2019 and my experience was fine, nothing amazing but nothing wrong but this past experience was not good. I am so busy and my job(s) can be super stressful. I submitted my email for a one day pass (which never came to my email as promised) as I hadn't been there in almost 5 years and wanted to see if this is the vibe I wanted for when I did have time to work out. Instead I got many...many phone calls. The sales department was rude. The first time they called, I was in the middle of a work day. I said I can't talk right now and she said lets schedule your day to come in. When i said I can't schedule right now she sounded frustrated and said you can't come in without an appointment. Her annoyed tone was off putting. I just couldn't talk so I said I would call later. They continued to pursue me, which is fine, I get that. But when I told her I can't take calls before 5p, she calls me at 4:30p. Caught me off guard but I took the call. She started selling me on private sessions, which is not what I wanted. I just wanted the one day pass which I was told would be emailed to me, but it wasn't. She then said it's actually a 5 day pass. But I've been there before (5 years ago), but she'll do me a favor and give me a one day pass. I was told back in 2020 that after 2 years, I am considered a new member. So now she downgrades my pass but tries to make it like I'm receiving a benefit/favor from her. She then asked what my goals were? Question kind of came out of no where. And I sympathize with her, its a part of the sales they've been taught. When I told her I am overworked and I jsut need a place where I can go to to work out when I find the time, she then told me I had to schedule a time to work out. I told her I will have to call her back. I'm still at the end of my work day (for job 1), just wrapping everything up. She then scoffed and said you don't have one day off? To have to explain to someone that I work 2 jobs and am hustling and having to defend myself just so I can work out for one freaking day to see if I want to spend my time and money there was so ridiculous. Going to UFC Gym is supposed to be convenient and on your own time. i shouldn't have to schedule when I choose to work out. I understand that if you are trying to corner someone into a sales pitch, you will need this time scheduled. She could have easily got me to schedule a time, albeit it would have been stressful for me with my crazy, unpredictable days, if she had some sympathy and respect for another human hustling. Or didn't give attitude, or better yet, was just a pleasant person to talk to. She could have better explained their services or why they have bene hounding me for an appointment, why the scheduling, anything. But the pushiness and pressure was ridiculous. All I needed was that reintroduction into the gym and I probably would have put down money and signed on for a monthly package right after my first session. But now I am not going in there and another gym will get my business. Management - please train your sales associates better. Or train them to be sympathetic to the client, not sound so annoyed or forcing scheduling upon people. Trained to better explain their process so it isn't so clearly sales driven. It was so obvious this was a sales pitch and not the focus being on the client and their needs. read more

Amazing gym. Be prepared to be challenged, this gym holds no punches (but rather teaches to uncork them very effectively). The instructors - every single one is absolutely world class. They take their craft and their students VERY seriously. For a gym with as many members, every coach takes the effort to get to know everyone personally. They're always walking around classes with instruction very specific for each member. They're always pushing everyone past their constraints and limitations to get better each class. As good as the coaches are, the membership is even better. There are so many world class members - from beginners, to amateur fighters to top class pros, but everyone treats each other equally, like bretheren, and everyone pitches in to make all members better each day. read more

Unethical recurring membership - Ultimately just interested in your money and not the services Here are my highlights of going to the place: Pros 1. The trainers are great and really committed to the people working out. 2. The facility is small, but accommodates the people by cramming them in. Cons 1. Ultimately, this recurring membership is going to charge you $120 per month. I can't think of a membership that's worth so much. 2. The recurring membership is complicated to stop and the establishment will claim that they're doing you a "favor" by putting a hold on the recurring membership, even though you won't use it. Not exaggerating about the use of the word "favor" from the manager - Amanda. I get it - gym memberships thrive on customers that sign up and then don't use the service, but when you're paying $120, better be 100% sure that you want to sign up for this place because when they take your money, they're not interested whether you use it or not. read more

This is my favorite gym and one of the best overall gyms that I have experienced in Hoboken in my 25 years of living here. I've joined a number of gyms before this in town, and none of them have had the great staff and motivating classes that UFC Hoboken has. I have been here for almost a year now and I feel that I am in the best shape of my life. This is not just because of the awesome workout classes, but more importantly because of the people who work here. I still remember my first class, I just felt so welcomed by Amanda and the trainers, like a community. I was never one to feel "excited" about going to the gym. However, I now find myself looking forward to my night classes week after week!! I would recommend this to membership to anybody who is looking to build great relationships and (of course) amazing workouts. Not only do I feel more and more challenged each time I attend a class/workout, but I also trust that the judgement of each trainer/manager at this gym is always in my best favor. Another great feature of this gym is that I also see or meet someone new in each class, whether that be a trainer, member, etc. They have many flexible time slots to make it is convenient to plan your workout schedule, which is not always the easiest task for someone like me with a busy schedule working in Manhattan. read more

I had an awesome time here as a guest with my friend who is a member here. We took the boxing class on a Saturday morning. It was pretty packed with about 12 people in the boxing ring for the class (and several other people throughout the gym working out or doing a cardio class). The coach, Dan (I think his name was), was amazing. Everyone was so friendly, and the class legitimately kicked my butt. It's great because it was really great for a newcomer or the average boxing class person. I was able to jump right in and they showed me everything i needed to know. The only thing that keeps me from joining this gym is it's not a cheap membership (and justly so) and my apartment has its own gym. Other than that I kinda wish I joined this gym. Class Breakdown: WARM UP - squats, jumping jacks, stretching, sit ups, planks, etc. Definitely gets the blood flowing! CLASS - you're mostly paired up with someone and you take turns doing different types of punches and combinations while they hold their hands up and vice versa. At the end of the class was a pretty intense workout of burpees, pushups and mountain climbers. But they focus on doing it as a team which is nice. Definitely was sore the next day but it was a great workout! read more

This is my second home. I been coming here for 4 years and still plan on going. The staff are great. Management are great too. Gym changed my life. Changed my brain. Changed my mindset. I was taught discipline. My ego died. The art of boxing and fighting really humbled me as a man. And it's an amazing experience. Plus it's fairly inexpensive compared to other gyms. Rich is a very humble and kind hearted owner. Everyone is cool. I see a very over the top detailed verbose exaggerated negative review here about getting ripped off of money and that is not true. Whenever I had to freeze my account. I would always call and never have any issues with management. As a client, it's my responsibility to call and cancel prior to my cancellation. Deeply unethical behavior by the owner of this franchise. Although corporate UFC promised all payments would be frozen at the beginning of the pandemic, the Hoboken franchise continued to charge because they were "offering classes on Instagram" (?) and the owner has flat out refused any refunds in the middle of a global pandemic. Website clearly says they'll freeze membership but this gym continued to charge fees during covid when the gym was closed! They wouldn't answer emails, phone calls or anything. On top of that they sent collections on me and charged me for a full years membership and threatened to ruin my credit. Totally dishonest and disgusting business tactics. Stay away!! read more

This is the best kickboxing gym around. Trainor's are very engaged in the whole program. They get on your case, team up with you, and even join you in your quest for fitness. You go to their fights and support them in exchange. It's like a big family in there. At the same time, training is tough! They will push you!! And you will suffer!!! Since moving into the NYC tri-state area, I never really had a place to pick up my boxing, Muay Thai and MMA training. There were lots of different smaller studios for jujitsu and MMA but I also wanted a place I could work out freely and cross train. Honestly, I was a little concerned about what kind of atmosphere the UFC brand would have and wasn't sure it was for me. But much to my surprise, I was completely wrong. Upon my first time entering the gym, I was greeted warmly by other gym members and the manager at the front desk. Super cutie but you could tell she had that look in her eyes that she trained here too and could throw a punch or beat me up lol. So I refrained from hitting on her then and was shown around the facilities. Amanda (I got her name at least) told me about all the amazing classes and training programs they had going on. I was even offered to come and take a free class to see how I liked it. Best part about this was how genuine she was. Everyone knows how uncomfortable it is to get hit with the sales pitch and told to buy now. I never got that from her at all. She believed in the brand and quality of the gym and let that speak for itself. And like I said earlier, wasn't just a pretty face to boost sales. She lived by the brand herself. Being a bit rusty and out of practice, I decided to take a Muay Thai class. I was also a bit skeptical because I had gone other places where they taught "kickboxing" and it was just basically a cardio class with no real technique or skills taught or sharpened. I believe the instructors name was Chris. Let's just say the warm-up itself was enough cardio for me and put other full classes to shame. I felt like I was going to throw up, so I knew at that moment that I was in the right place. ;) After the warm ups, we went straight into working on our kicks, push kicks, elbow strikes, skill and tech drills and full combos. The class functioned like a well oiled machine and it felt FANTASTIC. Veterans helped newbies and there was zero judgement. Chris went around and polished every student, adjusting them and giving them tips. I was hooked. My body definitely felt it the next day but I couldn't wait to sign up for the gym and get back in there. This gym has amazing instructors, staff that actually cares about you and a small town family vibe that you just can't find anywhere else. They even hold boxing matches and other local events at the gym where not just members can attend, but the entire community. I mean I have stopped by numerous times not even to work out but to just talk to people and of course see the gym's mascot, Rylee, an adorable English bulldog that will just melt your heart. And come to find out, that's a very common thing. Members will just drop in anytime they walk past because its not just about the gym but the people in it. My only regret is that I did not find out about this place sooner! read more

I wish there was 10 stars to give! I joined this gym last December and all I can say is what is there not to love about the UFC gym in Hoboken? Quite simply, it's an amazing gym that offers a great workout with competitive pricing. All trainers are absolutely great. Each has a different and unique way of teaching so although you might be boxing everyday, you will be getting a different workout from trainer to trainer. Additionally because of this you never get bored of classes cause it is not the same old routine class. Based on class size and level of everyone in the class, trainers really mix up the workouts. There are also different levels and classes available for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. One-on-one sessions with the trainers are also available and most importantly affordable. The trainers make sure to design the workout specifically for you and your goals so results are visible. Lastly, this gym is like a family and has a very social environment. So I first came here because there was a yelp elite event here, but they called me back in for a complimentary follow up class. I found out that EVERYONE'S first and follow up class are free. So I brought my sister this time around and we signed up for the kickboxing conditioning class. There's only street parking so we had to come 30 minutes before to try and find one before our class started. After we found parking, we went in and they helped us set up with our wraps and gloves. This class was just like the first class I went in for (which was boxing conditioning) but not as intense. Our instructor was Geo and he really knows how to get your heartrate up and out haha. I was sweating like crazy and was sore the next day but I learned a lot and would definitely come back if I lived closer to the area. I highly recommend everyone to try it out, you will definitely learn a new move or two as well as get a really good workout in! read more

This is seriously one of the best gyms in the area. Not only does it have great classes but the staff and coaches are very friendly and professional. I've been coming to this gym for a while and I've never had an issue. Everyone is always very welcoming and treats each other with respect (which you usually don't see at most gyms) Before coming here, I had trouble finding a gym where I felt comfortable enough to start my fit journey. One day my mom introduced me to the gym, and I felt immediately welcomed. The coaches are all very motivating and helpful. I've also been taking personal training lessons with Kyle which is one of the best decisions I ever made. I went in with 0 experience but all throughout the journey, he's been very calm, understanding and very encouraging. I saw a bad review that made a lot of false statements, and from my own personal experience I just want to clear some things. : 1) the gym does not have just 17 members. Apparently this person does not how to count or do any simple mathematics. 2) The manager Amanda is highly skilled and she addresses all concerns in a very professional way. I joined this gym this past November, having never taken a boxing/kick-boxing class in my life, and instantly loved it! The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help a beginner like me. Each coach provides a unique approach and leads a fast paced class that flies by. For those not looking to become the next Rhonda Rousey, I wouldn't worry, their classes offer the perfect balance of boxing, cardio, and core. You will leave completely drenched in sweat and feeling like you got a great workout in. Also, a great plus is that the gym has all the essentials even if you're not looking to take a class. They have a full set up of weights, barbells, and cardio machines as well as showers - so price wise, it's one of the best deals around for a gym in Hoboken. Not to mention, you get a great view of the city! UFC Hoboken is so deserving of 5 stars based on the classes and facility alone but the staff is also always so friendly and are constantly setting up fun events (ie. 80's night, happy hour). Went for the first time yesterday and did a boxing fitness class. I wanted to wait until the next day to write my review to see how sore I was. Well, I'm pretty damn sore. And it feels great. The workout was non stop and full body. Rich was an awesome trainer who is duly engaged in making your workout fun and difficult (if that makes sense). The other people taking the class were also motivational and everyone was pushing each other. Definitely work checking out for a good change of pace workout. Will be back! read more

Favorite gym in Hoboken! Rich is an amazing boxing coach and I trained with him for a while before switching to personal training with Chris Sladky. The entire staff is extremely well trained and they can coach any age from 8 to 80! The environment is super welcoming for both beginners and advanced athletes, and you can not go wrong getting a membership. This is a great place to work out. The pricing is reasonable, there are lot of classes at convenient times throughout the week, the space is well set up, clean, and the location is great. The instructors do a great job running challenging but accessible classes and they're friendly and always willing to answer questions. It's a good group of people. There are also various advanced classes for an additional cost in Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu. I haven't tried them yet. read more

Best work out EVER. I spent the entire spring / summer running and needed to change up my work-out routine. I'd run past UFC every day and finally stopped in one day to see what the place is all about. The boxing / kickboxing classes rock. They make you do all the stuff you'd never do in a million years on your own accord (squat jumps, planks, burpies, push-ups, etc.). But since someone is yelling over me and I'm paying to be there - I will gladly do it. It's both challenging & fun. Their instructions are excellent and the front desk staff are super friendly too. I have been a member at the UFC Gym in Hoboken for 2 months now. The facility is great but the staff and trainers are what make this gym worth every penny. They have plenty of trainers, all very professional with different styles that keep the workouts challenging! I go 3-4 times a week and I have never had 2 identical classes. I plan on sticking with this gym for the foreseeable future and embarking in more advanced classes. Prior to joining UFC I did 6 months at Title Boxing. It was intense but I found it very boring and repetitive after the first 4 months. The UFC Gym here in Hoboken has me thrilled about my venture with them as I advance to more technical classes! read more
