    Baseball stadium
    Shannon G.

What a great stadium. And it was a great game too. Had a soda and hot dog. Reasonable priced for a stadium. Highly recommend sun screen. It was cloudy when we got there and man, the sun came out and burned half my face. Ya, it's super sexy. Every time our team got a home run or a score on the board, they would fire off a cannon. This was my first baseball game, so that was a little shocking. I live Texas! Parking garage is right there. $10.00 to park for the whole game. Easy in and easy out and easy to get back on the highway. Great game, and terrific experience .

Home to the University of Texas at Austin Longhorns baseball program. I have been seeing games for about 15 years and seen changes to this stadium. But will only comment on what's here now. First the field is still field turf not real grass. The mound is dirt though but the bases have a very dark brown color where on TV some say looks maroon. There is a really dark netting around from first to third base which I hate where I think should be clear like a fishing net. You can't walk around the inside the stadium and no grassy bern for the kids. There is new tailgating areas outside the stadium with limited views where you can eat and drink (alcohol), but can do the same inside. I guess some fans don't want to pay the $10 to enter the ballpark. There are suites to rent and first two-three rows behind home plate are club seating with padded chairs. All seating are plastic chairs. There is a huge video board in the outfield and a separate much older scoreboard. The food is typical with any ballpark but there are food trailers. Like I said before they serve beer and wine, and craft beer too. In the concourse area there is a store to purchase Longhorn merchandise. Overall it is extremely affordable to bring your kids here where tickets are cheap, can park free along the street if you find a spot else use the parking garage next door for $5. The new Texas athlete director has done a great job improving the fan experience here.

So admittedly, I'm not a huge baseball fan. I guess in the grand scheme of sports, its players are less offensive than others so I can get behind it. So when the BF wanted to see a Texas game here, I grabbed my sports fan face and accompanied him The fields are really nice, the folks are nicer and the ballpark is clean. The food is about the same as other ballparks although their burgers looked huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge. Definitely try to tailgate before as there are several people grillin and chillin outside the stadium walls. All in all, I dig its close location, the fact that fans are super enthused and the salty, salty peanuts.

Great place to watch a Baseball game. Truly not a bad seat in the house. I was fortunate to get in the press box and enjoy a great game between Kansas and Texas. Texas lost on this night and I hate to see any of the LoneStar state schools lose to out of state schools. We had burgers, quesadillas, dogs, chips, cookies, drinks, and more. Everything was nice and made me feel like a King for a little bit. Never really get spoiled like that, must admit it was kinda nice. I highly recommend you go check this out if anyone every invites you to a game with box seats, but I would also recommend a visit to anyone wanting to enjoy America's Great Past Time.

Beautiful field. Not a bad seat in the house - some people even preferred to skip their seats and hang out on the lawn. I've been to several major and minor league baseball parks across the nation, and guess what? This college ballpark trumps them all in the ballpark food category overall. Pok-e-Jo's huge sliced brisket sandwich (you add all your own fixins) and an extra large jalapeno sausage wrap for like $7? Yes, please. Frito pie doused in chili and cheese and pickled jalapenos? Sure beats regular nachos. Beautiful spring day where UT beats a Big 10 team 18-0?! I'm in heaven. Of course, no alcohol is sold, but you can tailgate by bringing some chairs and a cooler to the lawn or parking lot, leave it there during the game, and when it's over - it'll still be there.

Amazing ballpark and there is not a bad seat in the house! Texas Longhorns always out on a show and it is a wonderful family atmosphere. The vendors for food are not the cheapest but offer a variety of different fares for all ages, including beer now. Parking is usually $10 to $20 at one of the surrounding lots.

Cloudy, cool day for a ball game!

There really isn't a bad seat in the house when you come watch a game here. You can either sit in the GA area or pay a little more for your own seat. They always have food trucks on site, along with your typical ballpark food like hot dogs, popcorn, pizza, and sausage wraps. Now they serve alcohol if you're in the mood for a cold beverage. Everyone here is friendly and you're bound to run into a UT celebrity alum. Prices for the food is pretty good and you can also opt for collectors cups instead of your typical paper cup drink. Parking can be a bit tricky, but there is either street parking which is safe, or people who charge to park in private lots. Definitely come out here for fun and watch a ball game. It's always a good time.

Small ball as the runner is advanced on a great bunt - the batter was safe at first too.

There were lots of food vendors all around which was a nice but they're mostly unhealthy food (pizza, burgers, fries, nachos). The only downside was that the sound system was not that great. Drinks are overpriced as expected at a venue like this and food prices are also on the higher side, though not as bad as the drinks. Hoop Tea ($14.75): A lightly spiked iced tea but it was enough to hold us through the entire concert. We went to Chick-fil-A one time and Stubb's Bar-B-Q another. At Stubb's we split the ATX Burger ($16) and onion rings ($8) and both were pretty darn good. The burger came with crispy chips but the onion rings were the real winner.

Always a fun experience and definitely one of the best places in Austin to catch live music.

In all seriousness, doing online research via Westlaw or Lexis Nexus can be difficult unless you know "key" terms. Sometimes, key terms are hit or miss. For me, going to the Law Library is the best form of research. They have so many resources and law books that it is crazy that more people don't take adavantage of it. The cost for a library card is about $60 a year if you aren't a student or if you haven't had a City of Austin library card for the past 2 months. Anyhow you figure it, it is the best $60 you will ever spend if you work for a law office. I didn't go to law school here, but this library sure makes me wish I had.

Yet, as much as I love the school, I cannot say that it is absolutely perfect. I think it is important to highlight all aspects of the experience. First and foremost, it should be mentioned from the outset that this law school is going to be the best bargain for your money. I was an out-of-state student, and I guarantee you it was significantly cheaper than other schools ranked in the top 15. The quality of education is stellar (I have taken classes at other law schools ranked in the top 20, and I can assure you that while those instructors were very good, the UT instructors were better), and you will find that many of your professors have been prominently involved in the major legal battles of the past half-century. The library, I believe, is the largest law library in the entire country, and the staff is professional and efficient. If you want to be in debt for the next three decades, by all means, go to Penn, Harvard, or Yale. If that isn't how you plan on spending your money after graduation, I would suggest the University of Texas. Next, the law school does an outstanding job building a creative and diverse group of students. I certainly took this for granted while I attended school, but I have re-connected with many of my classmates, and I have almost always walked away thoroughly impressed not only by their exceptional minds, but also by their genuine care for the societal impacts of their craft. I do think most lawyers get a bad reputation from a few bad apples, but the law school here does an almost perfect job of sorting through all of them. Thus, if going to school with people you plan on knowing for the rest of your life is important to you, you should strongly consider UT. The career services office could use some work. It was strongly tailored to the top 1/3 of our class, and I think that when you attend a top law school, it should not be a struggle to find a job post-graduation. Do not believe the US News and World Report average lawyer earnings for UT or any other law school for that matter. They are a complete sham. My class probably made an average of 75K their first year out of law school; I think US News and World Report had our average salaries exceeding 125K. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. It allowed me to temporarily find comfort in the legal world (albeit in an almost now completely defunct practice area), and I was able to make lifelong connections that have influenced my career in a positive manner. For any student who is applying for law school because they want to leave an indelible mark on the legal profession, I would certainly suggest my alma mater as a proper choice for achieving their objectives.
