Always itching for another reason to take our dog somewhere, we ended up attending the Round Rock Express' first Bark In The Park game of the season. For the price (you can buy any seat, just can't sit in them) it is well worth it. The parking is an additional $15 on top of ticket prices but for around $45 all in for the two of us plus our dog, the value was great. When you arrive at the park you pay for parking via workers with a mobile payment processor. There are a lot of parking options for all sizes of cars. Since we were doing Bark In The Park we were asked to park at the Right Field Gate parking which was no hassle. Getting into the park is very smooth, short lines and quick workers make sure it all flows well. Once in you are greeted by a very pretty and clean ballpark with a great outfield lawn area. When you have dogs you are asked to stay on the outfield lawn area which is no issue, but do be prepared to have a struggle finding a good spot to sit as other dog owners fill in. Lining the atrium in left field were a number of dog vendors offering treats, bandanas, etc which is another big plus. The whole park is very nice and intimate giving that true minor league ballpark feel. We also snagged some free beer samples and food including churros, shave ice, and a corn dog. All were reasonably priced and pretty tasty for stadium food, can't say anything bad about it. Before we left we stopped by the team store to grab some merch since we decided we'd be coming a few more times this year. The merch can be pricier but that's pretty much par for most sports merch spots. We would highly, highly recommend anyone with a dog in the Austin area come check this out. It's a perfect summer outing for any furry friend and their owner. read more

Went to a game in Washington, sat by the Round Rock dug out. One of the coaches made a rude comment to a girl wearing a major league hat, at the end of a loss several little kids wanted a high five all but two players acknowledged the kids. Just rude and poor sports. Maybe work on professionalism and being polite. Disappointed a Texas team would behave that way. Hopefully this review makes it to someone who cares. read more

Always a great family or individual experience. Plenty of concessions to grab some ballpark food n drinks, or some adult beverages. They have a few bars you can sit at and enjoy the game or just chat with friends or family. They offer lawn seating above the outfield wall, or regular seating in the home run deck in the outfield. They also have a section a in the outfield with oversized wooden chairs but these are limited. Of course they offer regular seating from behind home plate all the way to outfield. There is a play area for kids, and a gift shop. I'm sure I haven't covered it all, as there is so much to see and do here as it's an excellent ball park. read more

Great Environment during summer camp but the bullying needs to be controlled and I'm serious

As a season ticket holder. I would give a quarter star or no star if I could. This is just about the Intel club. No more menu just a buffet. $25.00 plus a 20% tip added to you bill with out asking or being able to change it. IT'S SERVICE YOURSELF comes out to about $32.00 with tax. Food tasted all preprocessed mac and cheese was like paste, potato salad tasted like HEB's not that HEB's is bad, But for the cost you would expect something made there fresh. Salad was minimal lettuce, cheese and red onions with one dressing. beef brisket was cut 1/2 inch thick dry with Sauce poured on top with a bowl if you wanted more sauce. tasted like roast. pulled pork was pork drowning in more BBQ sauce tasted like sauce. They had chicken wings that tasted like they where fried in old oil, wings only no season or wing Sause. Dessert was Costco cookies. Will never make this mistake again. Stay way save your money. I fact I told a couple that was looking at the buffet not to get it and they thanked me and went and got tacos. Wish I would have do that. I assume the attraction is the 2 beers or glasses of wine you get with the cost. But for someone that does not drink it is not worth it. PLEASE bring back the menu!!!!! read more

I could not tell if local police were on-site to direct traffic or not, as I sat away from the street in my car. The great thing about going to a minor league baseball game -- even one at the AAA level -- is that you get all of the extra fun stuff that happens throughout, in between the action. I'm talking about the dizzy bat races, the random birthday parties full of kids running around in the outfield like they were searching for Easter eggs full of Ritalin -- you know, the fun stuff. Those are the moments that remind you that baseball has been around as long as it has, that it's borne out of small towns and the moments between. It feels like summer out here. Here they feature fireworks on Fridays after the ballgame, the occasional wacky promo like Will Ferrell's turn as 'Rojo Johnson,' and other shenanigans. Beers are a little spendy (but not nearly as much so as you'll see on the major league level), and this park features a variety of items to munch on - your BBQ sandiwches to go with hotdogs, pretzels, and the like. I will note that I've had a suspect pickle here (which sounds like a great name for a band but made for a rotten dining option), but as you might expect, most days, catching a Round Rock Express game means a night under the stars watching tomorrow's potential greats take a swing on their march to the big time. It was a gorgeous night -- Fireworks Friday, playing the Isotopes, sitting on the berm, drinking a delicious $7 beer... Wait, what? Yes. The beer was $7. The peanuts were $6. Even the sodas carried a hefty price tag. I loved the experience -- the ball playing, the grass sitting, the kids having a grand old time -- but was frustrated by how much they shamelessly gouge you. I understand tickets arent much -- and that it takes a lot to keep the stadium runnin' -- but my advice to anyone reading this review is buy the biggest purse (or man bag) you can, and stuff it full of sour patch kids, packaged cotton candy and frosty beers. Also, as an FYI, if you have leftover berm tickets, you can use them at any game for the same seats!! read more

How could you not love these guys and the Dell Diamond. The fireworks show tonight was awesome! For how overpriced they are being a minor league team - they make up for it with the kids Jr. Slugger club and great baseball entertainment. They would probably get 5 stars if the draft beer wasn't a whopping $9.75 for a 20 oz. or $4.50 for a bag of peanuts. At least tonight my son won 4 - 5 wings for free from Pluckers (coupons), a bat, a backpack, and some novelty plastic hats. The handy dandy cool back pack offsets the price of my beer and now I have something to carry our stuff in for future games. A Friday Fireworks season ticket holder since the first season I've watched many changes over the years. This is still one of the best family venues with the most wonderful staff you can get anywhere in Central Texas. The fans are also a notch above in the courtesy department. During the 2011 fireworks ban, the on-the-field fireworks idea is just marvelous. I love baseball so I'm one of the seemingly minority of patrons that actually watches the game. I'll even listen to the games in the car or at home. Mike Capps is one of the most entertaining, personable and knowledgeable announcers (and boy can he get excited!). With the latest addition of former major league catcher Jerry Grote at his side you'll never be lost in non-baseball filler chit chat. Moving from the once successful Houston Astros farm system to the now successful Texas Rangers farm system brought a winning team back to Round Rock. Nolan Ryan, his sons and co-owners... baseball geniuses. I am a little biased, though. I grew up watching Ryan and Grote play with the NY Mets, and also watched Reid Ryan pitch for the single A short season Hudson Valley Renegades. While my respect for Major League Baseball has faded somewhat, the Minor Leagues have nicely filled the void. The inside the park food costs are priced for the captive audience, but no one twists your arm to buy food in the stadium. Every surface throughout the park is a target for some advertisement (is the playing field next?)... annoying commercialism... but the ticket prices are still very reasonable. When it's hot stay out of the right field side until the sun goes down. Expect to tussle with traffic when you leave, especially if you're headed to Austin. All in all a great place to spend some of your summer. Join in the "Chicken Dance" and sing along to "Take Me Out To The Ballgame". Laugh at the silly between inning antics. Marvel at the never-to-disappoint Friday Fireworks. Enjoy "Thirsty Thursdays", "Dollar Dog and Soda Night" and other assorted promos. Finding family-friendly places to hang with friends and our two year old can be a challenge, so we were happy to find out how much fun these games can be! Yes, you watch a baseball game, but there is food galore (you can even order it via app and go pick it up to skip the lines...genius!), lots of beer and other drink choices, a pool, two playscapes, a bungee jumper, and a rock climbing wall. So our friends without kids can kick back with a beer and we can keep kiddo happy! We have a lot of fun here. Food is good. Every seat in the house is great. You can pay to go upstairs (I think it's the Intel suite maybe?) if it's rainy or cold, or too hot. They serve different food up there which is pretty good and the chocolate cake is good too lol... and lots of beer too! Parking is free for disabled vets! Love this place, just wish it weren't so expensive (~$7 beers) and we'd go more often. Close to home good fun every time we come! Tickets are half price on Tuesdays. If you want to splurge, spend $30 and there is a small roped off area with waitstaff and there is a bar/counter top with your seat. Pretty cool, but a once a season splurge for us. This place is really entertaining for the family. There is not only a baseball game to watch but there are other activities to do like swim at the pool. Never heard of a baseball park have a swim pool. The facility is really nice and clean. The food is delicious for ball park food. When I used to work at one company they would hold our work functions to here in the summer to bring our families. My kids enjoyed it and after the game the kids were able to run the bases. They have firework shows. This place is great for local entertainment. read more

The Express field a competitive team and have a nice stadium, the Dell Diamond. It's geared nicely toward families, and while not cheap, it's a fraction of the cost of a major league game. Tickets are as cheap as $7 for kids in the outfield (which is nice, but makes it difficult to follow the game closely). Then again, lots of places don't charge for two-year olds. The beers are about $7.50 (that's what a Fat Tire is, anyway--crummy beers are a bit less) and the food is decent, if pricey (sliced beef sandwich for $7). Of course the biggest problem is that from mid-June to September, it's just too dang hot. Most games then are in the evening, but it's still freakin' hot. This is a great way to see up-and-coming players, or slightly over the hill guys, or stars coming back from an injury. read more

Been to the Express since they first started out. It is a great place to take the family to for a reasonably priced night. There is a lot of things for kids to do while you are there, and everyone is always friendly, even if you are rooting for the Iowa Cubs when they are in town. There is a decent selection of food, but mostly the usual ballpark food. Look for giveaway nights, they usually have some good things you can get like hat night. Best to come early in the season before it gets too hot. Very intimate setting and the games are played at a pretty high level. All kinds of food choices. Sitting on the grass berm n the outfield can be a very pleasant evening. Fun and goofy activities on the field between innings. The biggest downside is the price. Between tickets, parking, kids activities, and food a family of four could easily drop $150 in an evening. I love this ballpark. It's always a great time here. Tickets are affordable. Parking is easy. Ball players are amazing. Amazing fireworks shows every Friday night. Dollar hotdogs and soda on Monday. Just went for Memorial Day and they really went over the top remember the fallen soldiers and honor other service members. They also had a fly over and 2 skydivers parachute in. Way cool! In this review I will cover the ballpark, the pros, and the cons. The Ballpark: The ballpark or the Dell Diamond is a great place to visit if you are in Austin. Not only is it the home of the Round Rock Express, it provides entertainment at a low price. The ballpark is nice for a minor league team and have no complaints. Pros: The price! The tickets are not too expensive and the food was not either. I remember paying $1 for each hot dog and $1 for their soda deal. This is cheap considering what you pay at other sports places. My son and I recently attended our first Round Rock Express baseball game and had a really great time! This is a gorgeous ball park. Thank you for offering parking at a reasonable price - $10. We did not have to wait very long to enter the stadium and security was a breeze. Tickets were cheap - $7 to sit on the lawn. The seating was not that much more expensive but the lawn provided a very fun experience. My son really enjoyed the bungee trampoline in the playground area. The cost was $5 or you could buy an unlimited pass for $10. The line was pretty long though. The cost of food and drinks were on the same level as an Astros game which was pretty expensive. Hot dogs were $6 each which is a bit much if you ask me. We enjoyed visiting the gift shop and were able to find a really cool shirt for my son. Despite losing the game, we had a really great time and built memories that will last a lifetime. Getting out of the parking lot after the game was a bit of an issue. I feel like there is room for improvement here. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful in answering our questions. We'll be back! read more

Had a great time watching the game but everything was just way overpriced. Tuesday night game, half price ticket for $7, $8 for parking, $8 for a beer, $7 for a hotdog. Every time a player hits a home run at this park, someone gets up and passes a cap around. An old timer I was sitting next to explained that the players really don't get paid all that much. So everyone who wants, pitches in a dollar and then the money is placed in a plastic bag and tossed in the dugout..mind you, I counted about ten people doing this in the stands. I was told that50% goes to the player who hit the home run, 10% goes to a charity, and the other 40% is split amongst the other players. What the hell? So on top of the ridiculously overpriced concessions, fans are given the option to supplement the players pay. Yay me!! No thanks, in short, be prepared to pay for The Experience!! read more

We've been to many games over the last year and almost always am able to get excellent (front-row) seats less than a week in advance. (Sometimes as much as a day or two prior to game time) The stadium frequently runs promotions and offers 1/2 price items. (beer, hotdogs, etc) Getting in and out can prove difficult as it's generally packed, but parking on the right side near the far exit seems to always get us out of there within a few minutes. read more

This one's for all you parents out there on a tight budget. We got the kids club pack of tickets and go sit on the berm about once a month. The games start late, so you're not cookin' out in the hot Texas sun all day. They even let you bring your own "snacks" in. We pack a bag with some bottled water, peanuts, sunflower seeds, blanket, and gloves. A cushion or two omes in handy if you want to make it through to the 9th inning. Between parking and 4 snow cones (one for each kid), we spend less than $20. Don't forget to arrive early and bring a pen to snag some autographs from the players as the head out on the field. read more

Can't beat minor league baseball, a beautiful modern ball park with good seating everywhere including the grass and rocking chair set up they have near left field. Only minor thing and maybe im old fashion but the too family friendly atmosphere setup....some big league ballparks to the minors have pools and mini theme parks that divert the attention away from an actual baseball game but hey they gotta make money somehow. Concessions are usual high cost of a ballpark pricing so nothing to whine about, they do have specials throughout the week. Parking was $10 and got directed to the right entrance by the pool, they have multiple entrances which I like, helps you get around to your seats. 20 oz craft draft beers were $10 each which for craft its average cost but are $7 Thursdays and a medium bag of peanuts were $5. All and all its a enjoyable way to spend the day and take in a game. Defiantly come again and see a game, possibly on the days I listed below to score some specials.
