I haven't been to the lookout in yeeeeears. We grabbed a table on the patio. It was a nice evening weather wise so it was pretty busy. We waited about 10 mins for a table but there is a bar out there that you can grab a drink while you wait. Once we got a table our service was speedy. The food did take a little bit to get out to us but again, it was busy, so I understood that. I ordered the ribs and my partner ordered the Korean pork sandwich. The ribs were good. The mashed potatoes were so good but maybe could have been hotter. But the slaw was not good at all. Beer was cold and waitress was so nice. They do have a large parking lot. All in all I would recommend. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you're looking for a cute neighborhood bar and grill (it's literally in the middle of a neighborhood) check out the lookout[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I do know they do live music and have volleyball courts and a play area on the patio for the kids.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely gets my stamp of approval!

For the flatbread and nachos on the happy hour appetizer list. Yum! What a great deal!

We went to The Lookout around 8:00 on a Monday evening. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The parking lot was pretty full, but there weren't many people inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Maybe they share a parking lot with someone else? We ordered a Jameson's and Ginger Ale, I don't know what they used, but it was not ginger ale. Almost tasted like 7up with a squirt of Coke for color. Not great. I ordered the ribs, but they didn't have any, so I ordered the 'Shroom Burger with mashed potatoes instead of fries. The mashed potatoes were skin on, which I like, but the gravy wasn't great. It tasted like it was a mix or straight out of a can. The burger was good and had plenty of mushrooms. My partner had the 3 piece Broasted Chicken with mashed potatoes, cornbread and slaw. He said the chicken was meh, not great but ok. He was disappointed because he had been here before and had ordered the same thing but it was really good then. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a stage for a band, several TVs playing sports, and pull tabs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It looks like there is a patio but we didn't CJ deck it out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We might go back, but we are in no hurry. Our meal and drinks were around $55 tip included.

Lots of tables, lots of noise.

When you think of Maple Grove, you think of all the chain restaurants off Elm Creek Blvd. or Main Street. There must be hundreds of them. What you DON'T think about is a very busy bar and grill that is incongruously located in the middle of houses, in a part of Maple Grove you never knew existed. You also don't expect that a Maple Grove restaurant could have existed since 1958. If you aren't really familiar with the area, you'll want to GPS it. Yet, here stands The Lookout Bar and Grill; a perennial favorite. I don't know how or why I discovered this place, but it doesn't disappoint. My favorite is the "broasted" fried chicken, which is fried chicken that has been made in a pressure cooker (I had to Google it). It's juicy, crispy, and tender. What more could you want from fried chicken? It's a great price. Pro Tip: If you like white meat chicken ($1.59 extra), order a 3-piece and you'll get TWO large breasts and a wing -- along with a swimming pool of mashed potatoes and gravy, a very moist piece of cornbread, and creamy coleslaw for $14.99. Sometimes my wife and I split this and it's enough for two ($7.50 a person!!). Did I mention that the mashed potatoes and gravy are larger than Lake Superior? You can even sub in tater-tots or fries, if you want. Lookout has excellent wings, and they also can double as an entree (8 wings for $12.99). I don't mean to imply that Lookout is a chicken restaurant. Their menu is quite varied and the food is cooked to order. I haven't ever had anything bad here and the prices are a tremendous value. Yet, I suspect that many people know Lookout for the huge bar, and live music. They have a stage inside the restaurant and it is pretty loud even BEFORE the band plays. When the band is playing, forget conversation unless you and your dining companions have headsets. Most of the time, I eat here before the band starts to play, so it's OK. But you may like the music; most people do. Also, pull tabs seem to be a big thing here. People buy them literally by the bucket, but I doubt many of those people can quit their day-jobs at the end of the night, based on their winnings (or losings, as the case may be). I love this place and I'm surprised I haven't reviewed it earlier. I do miss their pre-Covid free popcorn, but oh well.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]this place is huge! lively, lots of space and tables to sit[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] ordered the smoked brisket dinner for about $18 and it was worth it the brisket was tender and super thick cut compared to competitors, generous and recommended fulfilling service took awhile, there were a lot of staff members I would recommend this spot as the food was good and is lively

My new favorite place in Maple Grove! I am shocked with the bad reviews, we had such a great time. Let's start with the vibes! When we got there, it was super confusing. First I thought we were in the wrong place, because we were in a neighborhood. We saw there was a playground, but inside, it looks very old school, bikerish bar. I wondered if we were in the right spot. Sure enough, they have the coolest backyard area with a playground, tons of seating, corn hole, volleyball. It's not warn down and crappy either. It's all in great shape. This is truly the most family friendly and adult friendly place. The food is good, simple, nostalgic and comforting. Fried chicken, Mac n cheese, homemade mashed potatoes (our waitress told us). I got a bomb chicken sandwich too. Drinks were really good. I tried a drink choice of waitress (crown apple and cranberry) super good. Waitress was so nice, knowing of the menu, and on it. It feels very comfortable to dine and chat here. Recommend it, definitely.

The Tuesday broasted chicken special is $12.99 from 4-9pm. You receive 4 pieces with choice of side, Cole slaw and, corn bread. It is usually $15.99 not on special. The chicken is tender and the breading is delicious. The corn bread is like dessert, it's sweet and soft! It comes with plenty of tater tots too. Definitely come here hungry!

The Lookout is a bar and grill that is clearly loved by regulars! Family owned and over 60 years old, it sits in Maple Grove. We had a party of 12 on a Saturday afternoon and we're able to get a table set up for us when we called ahead. At 3PM, the bar was busy, tables were full, and there was a retirement party going on in the banquet room. We were tucked in one of the back rooms which helped with noise. Our server was very attentive and kind, even with our chaotic group. I appreciated that there were a few items noted on the menu as gluten-free. I ordered a ghost pepper burger with a gluten-free bun. The burger was decent, but not quite cooked to my liking despite the server asking what temperature I would like it. Several others in my party got burgers, some even got the double burgers and demolished them. Overall, The Lookout is a good place if you are into typical bar food (I hear their wings are great!).

We just happened to be there within the 3 days so it was a nice surprise! First time we tried both hot pot and bbq. This time we just did bbq and it was plenty. The food is so fresh and marinated perfectly. Meats were tender but you do have to know what to order because some cuts were more chewy. My favorite were the short ribs and bulgogi. So fun to cook yourself, they changed out the grill multiple times and you can also request them to. Love the sauce station where you can make your own dipping sauce. Some fried foods, kimchi and fruit available buffet style too. Love all the options here. Love that you can order on the tablet but it is confusing if we had received all our food before we ordered more. They also have desserts available but you need to order with waiter. Restaurant is loud but it's a great time. They do sing happy birthday to you with a flashing neon sign.

First time trying KBBQ was a success at KPOT!…read more I loved the format -- we had a server who periodically checked on us and a tablet at the table to place food orders. Then we got to cook the food on the hot plate at the table!!!!! Which is common for KBBQ, but I was marveling over how cool it was the whole time. I LOVED that it was all you can eat. I got to try so many new things!! My friend and I went for lunch and I didn't eat breakfast in preparation and then I was so full I didn't eat dinner either. Totally worth the price (ended up being about $50 for the KBBQ and a pop, gratuity is automatically included). The staff were pretty quick getting all of our food orders out. The meat came out in small portions which I thought was perfect for all you can eat. I appreciated the set up because the meat wasn't sitting out buffet style (that would've been gross) and we didn't have any meat go to waste at the end. I also liked that they came to switch out the hot plate after like forty five minutes or so. The plate gets covered in some of the marinades and it was nice to have a clear one. Good touch! I was impressed at the meat selection. I haven't had KBBQ elsewhere, so I'm not sure how it compares, but there were so many different things to try. The tablet had photos of each item, which was extremely helpful as someone who isn't super familiar with KBBQ. They had a reference poster on the wall with all the different cook times, so I didn't feel totally lost with the hot plate. My tongs didn't completely close which made it difficult to pick up the thinly sliced meat, but it wasn't completely prohibitive and I'm sure I could've asked for different tongs. My favorite meat by far was the garlic shrimp. I also enjoyed the pineapple. I couldn't find the tofu on the tablet, but I wasn't dying to try that so I wasn't too torn up about it. I tried so many beef and pork items in all different cuts and I liked all of them. The only thing I would change would be the sauce bar and pricing clarification. I liked that they had a whole sauce bar with recommended sauces and flavor combinations. However, the posters for the sauce recipes were behind the vegetables/premade sauces and almost all the sauce recipes required soy sauce or sriracha which were at the beginning of the sauce bar. Because there was a perpetual line at the sauce bar, I had to get back in line to get my soy sauce and sriracha. Not a big deal, but sort of confusing. I also would not recommend getting any of the appetizers at the sauce bar, they seemed like they had been out for a while. Also not a big deal but sort of confusing were the prices online and on the poster outside the restaurant very largely say "LUNCH 22.99" and "DINNER 33.99" but the lunch deal is just for week days. Weekend meals are dinner pricing all day. The posters say this in small font, you just have to look closely. In my opinion, the experience was TOTALLY worth the money Overall, I really enjoyed my time at KPOT and would definitely go again! The staff were nice and respectful. The food was delicious and the service was quick. Next time, I want to do KBBQ and the hot pot.
