Pamper me is my preferred self care and Ugo Artistry did not disappoint. The decor I'm the lobby is so welcoming and created a luxe feel upon walking in. The music playlist is welcoming and sets the mood for relaxation and pampering. I love this place!!! This place is so clean, professional, and aesthetically pleasing! In the reception area, there were complimentary snacks and drinks. There was music playing softly in the background. There was also a movie playing on the television. I have wanted to visit this place forever and I'm mad I didn't visit sooner. Originally I asked for the "Honeypot" but after talking with Bryana I got the "Pretty Kitty". For those of you that are used to waxes, you'll be fine. Bryana was very educational, professional, and funny. I like how they were consistent with their emails and text. There was plenty of free parking. I'm definitely going to go back. Ugo Artistry is truly heaven sent. I learned about this business maybe just a few years ago when the owner was at her old location and I am a forever loyal customer. The new location off of Mallard Creek Church Rd. is glamorous and I am glad they expanded because now they are also able to offer many more services. I, typically, come here for my facials because there was a point where I didn't have the best skin regime and it showed drastically as I had a good amount of acne scarring and very oily skin so finding products that fit my skin type is extremely difficult. Every time I visit Chidemma re-evaluates and lets me know if there is something new I should be doing, she gives a very thorough explanation of the products she uses on me, and also has a lot of the products on hand for purchase. So I wish could give this place 20 stars ! So I started out coming here for facials and I found myself to be extremely impressed. Madison completed a signature facial on my extremely dry skin. She was extremely polite and helpful. In the past I felt belittled by estheticians ( not here ) when I reviewed my skin care routine. I always felt embarrassed. Madison was not judgmental at all . You can tell this is really her passion. She suggested products without being too pushy. Since then, I've purchased those same products on a monthly routine. I would definitely suggest getting Madison for any facial service. Ok now to the wax !!! Whoaaaa momma ! Look ! I'm not going to lie! I was extremely nervous getting my last parts waxed. So I started going to Ugo Artistry back in October to get some answers to my skin concerns. I have really bad hyperpigmentation. Even though it was getting better, I wasn't quite sure what was going on. I then met Chidimma. Chidimma was the first esthetician to ever recommend for me to get an allergy test and a hormone test. Most estheticians just do the service however she evaluated my skin recommended a skin care routine for day and night, some test I should take and some tips to help improve my skin. It is now February and I can say my skin has been improving a lot from her advice. I also learned that I do not have any allergies. I have yet to know about my hormones but Chidimma and I have been working together to resolve my issues. I cannot thank her enough. I have been to plenty estheticians in the past and she is by far the best. Her services are not rushed either. She takes her time and gives top notch quality service. I was excited to try this place because it is a black-owned business but I was extremely disappointed by the lack of customer service, integrity, and professionalism the staff showed today after I received my service. Firstly, I went for a facial that was booked for me through my close friends. I went in, said I was here for an appointment and they didn't say anything but "okay, you can sit on the couch and someone will come & get you." I go in to get my facial, she explains to me what face masks I'm getting today and then proceeded to start my facial, she left the room while my enzyme mask was sitting and the steamer began spitting BOILING hot water at me every 30 seconds. So much so, I had to get up with my eyes closed and find my way to the door, yell down the hallways for someone to come help me because it was burning me. My facial finishes up and she tells me to have a good day. I start to walk out and then, the receptionist caught me as I'm heading to my car. She says I need to checkout. I come back inside and inform her that the facial should've already been charged to the card on file because that's what the lady on the phone told my friend when she booked my appointment. My friend checks the charge & realizes they overcharged her. My friend had talked to the lady(Kristin) who did my facial over the phone because it wouldn't let her book for an express facial online. Both of my friends were on the phone and heard the phonecall when Sammy booked my facial and they asked for an express facial. Kristin(the lady who did my facial) didn't inform them that I had to have a consultation facial before an express facial. Kristin performed a consultation facial, not an express facial(the express facial was the one that was requested by Sammy). At first the lady that did my facial(Kristin) was confused, then she said she knew exactly what happened and what was said. When I asked the receptionist who was working that day, she said she didn't know and that there were a lot of people that day. Then, I asked her do they have a log or something of everyone who worked that day and she said they did but there were a lot of people working that day. Then, I asked her can she say who was working around that time that the call was made and she kept saying she didn't know, she didn't know, so I asked her can she get me to someone who would know and she told me the owner would be able to get a recording of the phone call but she's with a client and they told me I could wait for her to get the recording of the conversation, so I told her I would wait. Prior to me sitting down to wait, the receptionist said she couldn't do anything if we didn't have a name, so I asked my friend who she spoke too and she said Kristin. I never received an email saying I confirmed my appointment because I never did and neither did my friend. Her tone(the receptionist) was very condescending and she was getting kind of irate with me & so was the technician who did my facial. I'm waiting for the owner and then the lead tech and receptionist come out and tell me that the owner is not coming & she's starting a new client. Then, they proceed to tell me that we can't get a refund for the difference and they legally are not obligated to show me the recording of the phone calls. The receptionist proceeds to call me a liar, blames it on my friends, says they don't have anything to apologize for and that I could "catch it" because I said they were being irate and unprofessional. All that to say PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY. Don't go to UGO ARTISTRY. The lack of integrity, customer service, and professionalism was beyond disgusting. Never again. I have been coming here for a few years and from my very first facial appointment to my present, monthly waxes-The owner and every staff member have been life-changing. Whether they are giving me tips on keeping my skin glowing and clear, making me feel like 1 million bucks or giving me advice about relationships. This place is a true gem. I knew the integrity was there when I told the owner that whatever she recommended, I was going to buy. That was her cue to rack up but instead she educated me and sent me home with three items. If you are looking for great customer service this is not the place. I gave 1 star because no star was not an option. After having a poor interaction with the receptionist, I submitted my concerns via their IG and email address. It went unanswered. Finally someone decided to answer only to defend the worker's behavior and gave the same excuses to why things were handled the way they were. The poor customer service seem to be an ongoing practice here. I wasn't looking for free services but a simple genuine apology . Great customer service provides customers with an apology with hopes of a chance to try to make it right! It does not matter if they are right or wrong -no customers, no business.
