Barely have any machines there's one of each so it makes it nearly impossible to do your workout session in a timely manner, since you have to wait for sometimes 2-3 ppl to use a machine before you can get to it. I happened to move to the suburbs and didn't have a chance to cancel in person so I thought I'd call THEY NEVER ANSWERED THE DAMN PHONE I CALLED LIKE 7-8 times NO ONE PICKED UP THE DAMN PHONE!!! The one time my partner went in person to cancel his membership he was given the run around and was not able to cancel his membership! We just want out of this horrible gym, the staff isn't easy to work with at all! I just want to cancel my membership and they make it nearly impossible! HORRIBLE SERVICE DO NOT PURCHASE MEMBERSHIP!! Update I sent an email to cancel since I moved and they're saying I have to live 25+ miles away from the gym to cancel my membership which is complete and utter bs!! The cancellation process is ridiculous and nearly impossible save yourself the headache AND DONOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE THEY MUST BE DOING TERRIBLY FINANCIALLY TO MAKE IT THIS FRICKIN IMPOSSIBLE AND FRUSTRATING TO CANCEL A SIMPLE MEMBERSHIP NOT EVEN AT MY LAST GYM DID I HAVE SUCH A HARD TIME TO CANCEL A MEMBERSHIPPPP

I have considered signing up at this location for months now. What has kept me from signing up at…read moreit is the distance to it from my neighborhood, plus the freedom of not being trapped into monthly payments which is a feature my current fitness center (Breakthrough FamilyPlex) beats any fitness center with. The urgency to visit Planet Fitness - Little Village came after my neighborhood fitness center was closed for days due to the holiday which is my only gripe about it, leaving me with no other option. It is a nightmare for any fitness enthusiast to endure, but luckily Planet Fitness was open. I have ventured out before during the holidays, landing at a different fitness center, but I have always had this location in mind. Calling this location to inquire if they were open and if they had day passes, I was informed that the day passes to use the fitness center cost $20. However, in order to save money the employee referred me to daypass.planetfitness.com to fill out my information, so that I can try the fitness center out as a guest. Oh my God! The parking lot for this location was very congested the day of my visit. It may have been because of it being a holiday week why it was so congested. Not only is the parking lot shared with other known businesses with one being Pete's Fresh Market which makes it appear as the fitness center is crowded, but I assure you it is not once you enter the building.. I was impressed upon entering because it has just about every machine you would need for the perfect workout. I would imagine that there should not be any instances of not finding an open machine with there being so many. As for covid-19 precautions, there are disinfectant spray bottles given to visitors for them to clean whatever machine used. Not only were machines cleaned by visitors, but Planet Fitness staff too! Machines were marked off one every two machines to allow social distancing, or in their words social fitnessing, hehe. Masks are required plus they offer masks to visitors if in need of one. I loved having eighteen flat screen televisions in front of me with different things being showcased as I worked out because it took my mind off of looking at the machine as every minute went by. It felt great being able to ride an upright stationary bike which my regular gym does not have. There are just certain positions you can get into on an upright stationary bike that you cannot on a recumbent stationary bike. And they do have plenty of both, upright and recumbent bikes to ride. Interesting concept of both the Pf 360, and 30 minute workout areas. Inside of both there is a flashing traffic light guiding you when to start and finish your workout on whatever machine you are on. Another area was the Abs & Stretching where I conducted an abdominal workout and yoga. The Abs & Stretching area has a very intimate vibe, even if there is someone else in the room other than yourself. All in all, a pleasant experience with Planet Fitness - Little Village. After visiting this location, I would not mind driving out to it again as well as maybe opening a membership being that Planet Fitness is very affordable. I spent a total of three hours and seven minutes working out. Even though I did not spend a dime to utilize the fitness center, I had planned to get my money's worth in the form of time spent. Surely I got that, as well as cramps in my abdominal region during my ab workout on the abdominal crunch machine, hehe. ~Blessings~ Thomas G

All of the lockers are broken from people breaking into them, everything is absolutely DISGUSTING. It seriously looks as if no one has ever cleaned anything, especially the walls and floors. Equipment is broken for months on end, and there's always broken glass in the parking lot from where people have smashed windows to break into cars. It's a total nightmare. They also won't pay for heating/cooling, so in the summertime it's 90 degrees in there and your sweating as soon as you walk in, and in the winter it's 50 degrees.

I've been a member of Life Time Fitness for several years now and I have to say this location is…read more.. interesting. Located on the 9th floor of the One Chicago building near Magnificent Mile. To gain access into the club you can either walk in from the main lobby floor of One Chicago and take the elevator up to the 9th floor and that's where the club entrance is. There's only two elevators, during rush hour times there is often a line just to go up or down. You could take the stairs but who wants to climb 9 levels? That alone is a workout! Once you're inside the club there's 2 floor levels. The first floor has the check-in lobby, cafe, bar, locker rooms, rooftop pool and spa. The second level has all the workout equipment, cardio, and studio rooms for workout classes. I wasn't a big fan of the layout, it's kind of all over the place. Got a chance to take a Warrior Sculpt class with Taylor and it was awesome! One of the best sculpt classes I've ever had. I've seen some reviews complain about issues with the staff being rude but I honestly did not encounter any of that. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Oh and one last thing! This Life Time is open 24 hours! That's something I've never seen before, not even in NYC. That's a major win.

I don't write reviews lightly, especially negative ones, but this location deserves honest…read morefeedback. I've been a Life Time member on and off since I was a kid, starting in the suburbs of Houston. I've belonged in multiple cities, used LifeWork spaces, spent thousands per year on personal training, and countless dollars on spa services. By any definition, I'm a high-utilization, loyal customer and a genuine fan of the brand. The Chicago River North location is the biggest disappointment I've had with Life Time. From the start, the experience was poor. When I first toured before relocating to Chicago, the front desk manager rushed me through the building as if it were on fire--no real explanation, no attempt to sell the experience, no hospitality. That should have been a warning sign. Within my first two visits, I had two items stolen: A $370 pair of Sony in-ear headphones (gone after stepping away for under five minutes to get water) A $225 Canada Goose toque, taken from a bench while I briefly stepped on the scale These were not misplaced--they were stolen. That speaks volumes about the environment and lack of oversight. Beyond that, the club is consistently overcrowded, dirty, and disorganized, and staff interactions are largely unhelpful. For a gym positioned as a premium urban location, it simply does not meet the standard Life Time sets elsewhere. The spa experience is especially underwhelming. At Houston locations like Green Street and The Woodlands, you're greeted, given robes and slippers, sometimes offered a beverage, and allowed to change in a calm, elevated environment. River North offers none of that. It feels far closer to a Massage Envy than the resort-style experience Life Time markets and charges for. The final straw: when I called to cancel and asked to speak with the General Manager to share feedback, my membership was canceled before anyone reached out, asked what went wrong, or attempted to retain me. For a brand built on experience and loyalty, that was shocking. I've now joined Equinox--something I didn't want to do, as it's not a full-service gym--but this location left me no choice. Life Time is a great brand. This location is not. If you're considering River North, manage your expectations--or look elsewhere.

I was given a 90 minute pass for dinner and they seem strict on the time. My friend also gave me a tour. It's an impressive space!! About 450,000 square feet, spanning across 2 full city blocks and 5 levels. They have everything you can think of: pools (4 pools!), saunas, restaurants, tennis, golf, basketball, boxing, group glasses, weights, machines, pickleball, spa, hair and nail salon, indoor running track, co-working space, and so much more. Beautiful artwork, pristine locker rooms and restrooms. Wow! High ceilings and so much space overall. Nothing felt crowded. Beautiful design and layout. I was in awe and very impressed.

(Kari's Rating 7.5/10)…read more TLDR -Up-to-Date equipment -Work from home spaces -Convenient Healthy Market Came with a friend to hang out on a Wednesday around 5:30pm to see what East Bank Club is all about. After seeing all the crazy amenities which were super cool with a ton of variety, I think the thing that surprised me the most is how up-to-date all of the equipment was and the variety of activities they had for people to enjoy. If you're looking for an all encompassing workout/work space, this is it! They have everything from full-size tennis courts, to a golf simulator-like set up,except you get to hit into an inflatable pillow! They also had plenty of Pickleball courts, and they offer so many different workout group classes.both a wet and dry, sauna, and tons of treadmills and free weights. I was also really impressed that they also had a physical training area. So think something that was my personal favorite and the best thing for Chicago Summers is a beautiful rooftop pool and lounge area. Not only did they have two outdoor pools (one for adults and one for kids) but they also have an indoor pool as well for winter as well as an indoor hot tub! They also had a common area workspace where people can come to take meetings and do their work from home gigs. You could practically move in here haha! As of right now, it is a $750 new membership fee as well as $295 a month, which is a pretty hefty chunk of change if you ask me considering most of the high rises around, have some kind of rooftop pool and workout area. It is cheaper if you join with a domestic partner or if you're between the ages of 16 and 29-see pic for current pricing. They also sometimes host social events which is super fun to meet everyone else in the club, but at the same time I think it is more of an investment in your future and your future health if you can afford it! I will not be joining at the moment, but hey-that could change anytime if I decide I should be on a health kick.
