We are regular customers at this Ulta and have always trusted it for our makeup needs. This visit on my daughter's PROM DAY was almost a disaster, thanks entirely to the MUA named Reyna. From the start, the application was not what we asked for. When we expressed our concerns about the eye shadow, Reyna flatly dismissed us and insisted it looked fine. She made zero effort to listen to the customer. Due to a language barrier, we had to have someone translate our concerns multiple times. Rather than appreciating the effort to communicate clearly, she became visibly angry. That alone was unacceptable. We asked another MUA to step in and correct the eye shadow. Instead of graciously stepping back, Reyna retaliated by deliberately removing the eye shadow and all of the makeup she had applied. My daughter was in tears. She was distraught, stressed about being behind schedule for one of the most important days of her teenage life and it was entirely unnecessary. The situation did not have to escalate this way. It was pure pettiness. But it didn't stop there. Reyna then proceeded to argue loudly with the manager for a full 10 minutes while the manager was simply trying to make things right for us. She also argued with her coworker during the application itself. The entire experience was chaotic, hostile, and deeply unprofessional. My daughter later noted she had used some very unsettling, unsanitary techniques as well. She sneezed into her hand and failed to wash them before continue with her application and she used the gloss and mascara straight from the tube. The manager was kind and offered a 10% discount, which we appreciated but no discount undoes the emotional damage and time we lost on prom day. Reyna should not be working with clients. Period. This level of conduct, dismissiveness, retaliation, arguing with management and coworkers in front of customers has no place in any service environment, let alone one where people come to feel special and confident. The only reason I still gave three stars is because Kacelyn saved the day. She reapplied the makeup flawlessly and talked with my daughter during the process to calm her down and lift her spirits. I don't know if I give off the vibe of "I'm not into beauty" however I realized that when I walked in I wasn't greeted as the people after me were. But that's an employee issue and I'll leave it at that as I came across another employee who went above and beyond to help another customer but kinda brushed me off. This Ulta is set up nice and has a nice selection. I will say that their perfume was a sort of a let down - the employee that I spoke about pulled out a perfume and created a tester for another customer, but when I asked about a scent I got "I'm not familiar with that scent" as he walked away. End of conversation. The juvias products were in abundance and a nice variety of them. I actually commended the employee that was restocking product as the store I frequent has little product to which I asked if it was being discontinued and I had to have the item shipped to me as they didn't have the product in the store. Besides the issues with employees attitudes, everything else went well. However I likely will go to another location where I feel like my presence, as well as my money, is welcomed. read more

Never again! Friday came in for an appt and was told they could not honor it because of double bookings, despite calling an hour before to confirm. I was rescheduled for Saturday and came in discussing what happened the day before with the stylist Breanna, because she didn't speak to me the day before. She shared many excuses but no apology, and I brushed it off because I just needed to get my daughter's hair done for school. I said as much and also stated, "It's a new day; let's just move on" My daughter has her hair detangled, washed, and conditioned and is then put under the dryer. At this point, we have been at the salon TWO HOURS. I never complained and just arranged for my oldest daughter to meet me so she could take my youngest daughter home if need be (I had plans). Well, somewhere along the line, I guess because I was quiet and didn't really talk to Breanna, she decided she didn't want to finish her hair and said that she would be stopping the services. I said "But, wait she is supposed to be getting a silk press" & she rudely says "I know. I won't be doing it." You can only imagine my frustration as I stand there with my daughter--hair wet and plastic bag on her head. It took everything in me--and just reminding myself that my daughter was with me and I didn't have time to go to jail today--not to react out of the anger I felt at that moment. I left the store, and decided to call the manager Joanna later after I calmed down. All Joanna did was attempt to gaslight me into thinking I did something wrong when I know I did not. I believe I was refused service because I wasn't overly nice and management had already discounted the silk press service, so she didn't want to do it anyway. All they did was waste hours of my time and several gallons of gas. Would never return and I do plan on going to corporate as well as social media. I am shocked and appalled at not only how I was treated but the excuses cited to justify the actions such as "well you threw the clips on the ground" (after I was told services were being halted) or "well you were asking for discounts"--Whatttt?! How is this disrespectful? Laughable. I only asked about a discount because I wasn't made aware that the straightening services were already discounted and was told I would be charged extra for detangling. They have made up many false narratives to avoid being fair on pricing after my wasted time. I have no respect for Breanna or Joanna after how this was handled. I could have stayed home or made other arrangements if she just said she didn't want to provide services after all that happened yesterday. But they have poor communication skills, no morals, lack of respect, and are unprofessional and obviously petty and passive aggressive. Mind you they did all this to a FIVE YEAR OLD GIRL who was having her VERY FIRST hair salon experience. She was so excited, and this has been a great disappointment for her as well as me. Unfortunately due to COVID they didn't have any birthday gifts in stock. They had a sale going on from (30% and up) on select items. I was struggling to find a good salon for my makeup and hair because I had my graduation photoshoot. I was first afraid to go to Ulta because of the reviews I read online, but then i had no choice because i couldn't find one in arlington. I booked an appointment last minute and lucky me they had a 11 o clock appointment available for me. Master stylist Madison Rodgers was at my ease, she talked me through it, understood what i wanted and the results were awesome. I loved my makeup and my hair. I am waiting for photoshoot pictures to share and super excited about them. Alot of people did post that it is expensive. Honestly it's not. She asks you before what you want a daily look or a formal application. On the basis of that they charge you. Also bring your own eye lashes, If you don't ulta has plenty tht u can buy and use. Brianna Thomas at Arlington Highlands Ulta completely transformed my hair! She spent more almost 7 hours completely redoing the highlights (I had lots of blonde highlights I didn't want) and making a brunette with copper highlights. And my hair is very long! Went to Ulta in Waxahachie yesterday to buy my girlfriend some make-up and a few other items. When I walked in I was greeted by a representative who asked how she could help. Being a man who has no clue about make-up, this made me feel very comfortable. I proceeded to let the woman know what my needs were, I also showed a picture of my girlfriend so she could get a better idea of what items to look at. All said and done, it was a very pleasant experience, the woman was very knowledgeable and so much help, my girlfriend loves the items that were chosen. The store was pretty crowded and I was having trouble finding what I came in to purchase. It seemed like they were out of items as I noticed quite a few empty spaces. Izzy lead me to the product I was wanting, helped me find the correct shade for me and even suggested another brand. She showed me the best way to apply it and added some personal tips. Nothing special about this Ulta compared to the average Ulta stores. The customer service is good and there are many selections to choose from. It was a little under stocked on some ColourPop lipstick, so I guess some inventory wasn't available. I also was having a hard time finding makeup remover at the small stations, so I was walking around with crooked makeup until I finally found some! Please make it more handy at all stations. Other than that, I will continue to shop here because they carry Lancôme makeup, unlike some other makeup stores. read more

I usually don't leave reviews, but due to the nature of the issue I had to leave this feedback to make sure that no one else has to receive the same disrespect that my wife has from "this" location. Today, my wife called the Ulta informing her eyebrow tech (Christina) that she was 3 mins behind and would be there. She showed up within the grace period to still be seen. Store manager Tiffany informed my wife that she will locate Christina and inform her that her appointment was here. Although she told my wife that she would locate Christina, she did not. INSTEAD she walked around the store as if she was trying to locate Christina and while doing so, the grace period for the appointment had passes and she then refused to allow Christina the time to provide the service. Christina then showed up and explained that the allotted time for the appointment has passed and she could not provide the service. This was not a problem as Tiffany stated that she could put he down as a standby in the event that another appointment did not show. My wife left the store, but went back in just to confirm that her name was put in as a standby of which it was not. Tiffany then got loud and very rude with my wife stating that, "CHRISTINA IS BOOKED TODAY, TOMORROW, AND ALL OTHER DAYS IN THE WEEK." As an area manager for a retailer, customer service is a key component to sustainable business. The actions by Tiffany are not those of leader for ANY company and the way she serviced my wife was VERY unprofessional. I can not impact what people do and where they spend their money, BUT when we know better we do better. I've been getting my hair done for about three years by at Ulta and I must say that my stylist, A.J., is a miracle worker. A.J. is superb at what she does and has a fun personality to boot. The fact that she has seen my hair at it's shortest to it's longest is a testament to itself. A.J. concentrates on getting your hair to it's healthiest state which is refreshing because most stylist only focus on the finished hairstyle. I would have given five stars except that there isn't a checkout in the back of the store, so if you're only paying for a service you have to get in line with the folks that are purchasing products ( bummer) . So, if you're ever in The Arlington Highlands, check out A.J. at Ulta, as I'm confident she'll give you a satisfying hair experience. I go the register for help locating an item and she tells that she'll help me once the line dies down. She first kept talking to the girl who was also behind the cashier desk and no one was in line... so we are waiting for someone to call us up to be next. She kept talking, didn't talk to us and kept her convo going. I was supposed to receive a free gift but apparently this wasn't available even though the free gift recently started. Went to get a hair cut and the girl upfront asked me if I wanted to deep condition my hair, after I told her I didn't know what that meant she looked at me in a way that made me feel stupid. Shortly after that in the beginning she treated me rudely. When she was washing my hair, she would literally dig her nails into my scalp and it hurt really bad. I said ow really loud but she didn't do anything. After that when she started cutting my hair, she was being nice and holding up a conversation. I tried to buy a Revlon one-step volumizer but when I went to check out i was greeted by a completely different amount than what i originally saw. When I informed the lady at checkout she told me we could go check again and when she saw I was right she told me the price had changed because it was a "newer" Revlon product yet the price in the aisle I saw the Revlon product in saw cheaper. The manager in general treated me like I was ignorant and I didn't know the difference between the price. plus the manager did not respect the price that was already there, she just told me if I wanted to I could but it and if I didn't than I shouldn't.
