Last time I was here, I was very focused and looking at the NYX lip products in an aisle where I was alone. I had been trying to find a specific lip combo when a worker came through the aisle and made me move out of the way for another customer to get what she wanted, except they stood there for 5-10 minutes while I waited to get my spot back to keep shopping/looking. They didn't move and I ended up giving up and putting my stuff back and going to a different Ulta where I was not moved out of the way for someone else. I went back today again, and my shopping experience went better except the worker cashing me out was clearly unhappy to be there and acted like cashing me out/giving me change back was difficult and an inconvenience to her. This is a good Ulta store itself, but the workers here are sometimes just inconsiderate and rude. I've never been to any other Ulta with employees like this. I've also had more encounters with other rude customers in this store than I have good encounters. read more

Malenie was so helpful and wonderful to me. Im thrilled with the sparkly eye shadow she found for me- I wanted a cruelty free one, and she walked straight to the Urban Decay display and picked out Space Cowboy of the Moondust line. She did a patch test on my hand with the tester and it looked good so I bought it. I have gotten so many compliments from people on this eyeshadow- will definitely buy again. Full disclosure, it was a little pricey- $24 but worth the money. I think it's super flattering but subtle and it works for day or night. I would much rather spend more money on a single shadow that I use every day than a whole palette that you only use 2 or 3 colors, once a week. Malenie was cheerful and upbeat, and easy to talk to. She explained the Ulta rewards program and signed me up for it. I really liked this Ulta, but I would have appreciated if one of the associates had offered me a basket - I couldn't find any in the back of the store after I had grabbed a handful of items, so that was awkward, trying to carry all of it. Now that I know they're at the front of the store, I'll definitely grab one next time. I only came to buy two things: a flatiron and a refill/replacement of my MAC Prep + Prime in Radiant Pink. I usually buy my face products off Amazon but it's so much easier to be able to just grab one in person. I didn't think the Nailtopia brand was worth purchasing. I bought a set of two: base coat and top coat, but my nails chipped really fast when I used them. I also tried Bubble Level Up Balancing Gel moisturizer- I believe it was $14 and was almost as good as my gel moisturizer by Paula's Choice, which costs nearly 3 times as much. (Water-Infusing Electrolyte Moisturizer) ... But not quite...still a good purchase for the price. The product I love most that I discovered that day was the elf lip exfoliated- wow! It really works- I was so skeptical but now am kicking myself for not trying it earlier. Still haven't tried the flatiron yet (Infiniti PRO by Conair) - paid more than I wanted for it ($49 I think) but it was one of the cheapest options in the store and had the same shape/proportions as my old Hot Tools flatiron that I had in college 20 years ago... Today at around 12:40 I came to look for makeup products and it seemed as if they associate couldnt answer my questions, as if he didn't have knowledge on makeup. While he was trying products on my face another customer comes up to him and asks him for help so then he tells me to wait and he'll be right back to continue testing the products I wanted him to test on my face. Point is he never came back and sent another associate to help me instead, while he stood at the back just watching. Rude and useless customer service. Not coming back to this location. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Husband went to this location to pick up an online order for me and the manager told him he had to be added as a pickup person. He said no problem and called me. Before he could hear me say, "let me go get my phone," the lady was snapping at him in the background how it "has to be done in the app in the same account she bought it from or else you can't have it!" I also got to hear her scream other things through the store at other employees and customers while it took me a moment to add him in the order. Zero class. The problem is not that I needed to add his name to the pickup order, thats fine - it's a rule and took 5 seconds for us to comply with. The problem is that no one argued that he should be able to pick up the order and that this person was a massively rude classless jerk. I avoid Ulta as much as possible and every time I say "ok fine I just have to pick up one small thing," it turns into a shitshow with rude management. read more

Today I went to this location to pick up an order that I placed online. The girl behind the counter greeted me and asked if I was there to pick up an online order. I said yes and she asked me to wait at the kiosk until someone else could assist me. In the meantime she helped several customers who lined up after I was already waiting at the kiosk. After nearly ten minutes another associate was able to help me with my online order. In the time that it took for them to finally get to me, I could have browsed the store, waited in line, and checked out- so it defeats the purpose of ordering online if they are going to blow you off for an extended period of time. Furthermore, when I got home and opened the bag, I realized that they gave me the wrong item. I called the store back and while the manager was apologetic, she said there was nothing she could do for me and that I would have to return to the store or call customer service to get the correct item sent to me. I called customer service and they were not able to send me the correct item either. Not only did they waste my time in the store today, but I have to find time to return to the store so I can receive the item I originally ordered. Not only are they disorganized and unprofessional, but they cannot carry out one of the simple services that the company offers- buy online and pick up in store. I will not be returning to this location after this experience. There are other stores in the area with much better service. If you value your time, go somewhere else. read more

Not thrilled with my experience today. Today was my girlfriend's birthday and we went in to get her birthday gift for being an ulta rewards member . We had read the e mail with options for selection of the free gift ... upon reaching the register the cashier was super abrupt and not kind. My girlfriend had mentioned it was her birthday and there was 0 personality in this person. I work in customer service for the past 16 years and she was cold was stone. My girlfriend had said she chosen the dry shampoo for the gift and she said that wasn't an option. I then mentioned it was in the e mail as an option and she said we only have "these 2 options as gifts". No Happy Birthday or further explanation of why the dry shampoo wasn't an option until I had inquired specifically. Just total cold interaction and very abrupt. Maybe she had a bad day, but not my favorite interaction and my girlfriend has gone to this ulta for a few years - so really sad and not a fan. I was talked in to getting the Ulta Ultimate rewards Master Card. I was told it was a wonderful card with many rewards. It has been horrible! It has a 30% interest GPA if you don't pay it in full every month and even if you, they still seem to add interest. I was told if I used it other places than Ulta I'd get huge points for in store purchases. I paid for a large plumbing expense and go no extra points, and every time I go in I have to ask about my points because it doesn't happen automatically and they sometimes don't ask. I would avoid the hair salon. We had haircuts done last week and my daughter's haircut took them 2.5 hours and they decided to blow dry it when I told them repeatedly that my daughter wore her hair natural. I had booked a curl cut (no blow dry) so my daughter can see her hair exactly as she would on any given day because her hair curls in big waves and is very thick. This style went from shoulder length to her new style which is a lot shorter so we wanted to make sure it looked good. I ended up fixing it on my own at home with my own hair scissors and tools. I was so tired after her haircut that I didn't even complain about mine at my visit. However, I told her I wanted a V cut with layers and curtain bangs. She gave me a straight cut which I clearly saw when I straightened my hair at home. I had asked her afterwards if this was a V (because she added waves when blow drying but I could clealry see at the visit it was not a V) and she said yes to me. I also told her I do not blow dry my hair and I straighten it - she only blow dried it and did not flat iron it. The curtain bangs were just normal bangs and small and short and ugly. Not curtain at all. She asked the short length which I told her, but she did not add the rest to them to actually make curtain bangs. I had to make them when I got home with my own hair tools as I always had in the past. I pay for convenience and professional service, however, not worth it here at all. Not to mention she cut her fingers 3x during my daughters cut. She's lucky she didn't knick my daughter's ears with the short hair style. read more

My first time ordering online to go pick up my CurlSmith shampoo and conditioner, I was supposed to get a free gift. My husband went to go pick up my order and the front desk sales associate went to ring up the free gift when the manager came up and completely shut it down and said I couldn't have my free gift. I spent over $50 on my hair products and was supposed to get my free gift for a $30 CurlSmith purchase. I am very disappointed and feel like I got cheated out of my free gift. Never will I ever go back to this store since they don't honor their deals. I will only order online from now on. This Ulta is located in a large shopping center, Havana Gardens, on the corner of Mississippi and Havana. It is a large store that has a lot of great deals and things you can't find anywhere else. They have a variety of makeup types, and even things from the internet. They have a Mac Cosmetics and Elf section too. The staff was friendly and helpful. They handled my return well and refunded me. They also have a nice rotating deal this month, today was a nice dry shampoo. read more

Now that they have re vamped the store to include Lancôme, Clinique and MAC I have no need to go anywhere else for all my beauty needs! There's always a deal and nothing beats their Liter Sale when it's that time of year to re stock on shampoo and conditioner!!!! Hayden at the Benefit Brow bar does my brows and she is just the best there is in the business! She consistently does an amazing job and I always leave her chair feeling beautiful! I've recommended so many people to her and they've all had just as amazing of an experience as I do! This is the closest Ulta to me so I have frequented the spot a plethora of times. Every time I have been in I have been greeted warmly and asked if I needed assistance. This location does not have the widest selection many Ultas have but you have to remember that's not the fault of the people who work there because they do not control what the store carries. While I was perusing the make up aisle, this past excursion, next to the eyebrow appointment area the attendee assigned to the area saw me and warmly asked if I had an appointment. This shows that she was paying attention to her area! I said I did not and she asked if I needed any help finding anything. The one thing that always frustrates me is the lack of organization, especially of the makeup brushes. I have never once seen this area perfectly clean/orderly and I have visited enough times to have gone every day of the week. Both sale sections could always use more organization to make them look appealing to the customer. The rest of the aisles have looked fine, but could always look better. There was a sign above the NYX lipsticks indicating that if you break open the seal that you would need to pay for it. This sign will had a typo on it and could have easily been reprinted but was copied and placed other places as well. I didn't end up buying anything but my friend did. When we reached the check out we waited about 6 minutes while others were being processed. The women who checked out my friend asked if we found everything we needed and if my friend knew that her makeup brushes were buy one get one half price; she did not know this and ended up buying another set. Albony, a complete disservice. I did not appreciate the representative by the name of Albony giving my mother and I the run around. It was my mother's birthday, and all she wanted was her birthday gift and birthday discount. Albony immediately turned us away stating that we needed an app to get a birthday gift. This is not true because other times they ask my mom for her phone number that's it. She even told us the store ran out of birthday gifts for March, which they didn't. My mom and I right away got a different representative and they were nice and happy enough to help us out and give us the birthday gift and discount no problem. Albony was very rude, and unhelpful. Took my daughter down here, and she's a regular customer. At the register, the clerk gave her such a hard Time. There were sales flags out that the manager refused to honor or points that the manager refused to apply to my daughter's account. The clerk/manager kept arguing with my daughter. As soon as we got in the car, my daughter looked in her bag and her item wasn't there and neither was the receipt. It was very hot that day so I said let's return Sunday. On Sunday another manager refused to listen to our request. Proof of purchase by showing an Ulta account was brought to their attention. The manager made us wait while she watched a grainy video of the transaction. We were denied our request to have the receipt and the item replaced. I told the manager that she's not a security specialist. She's a makeup specialist. Ulta has unethical employees. This was upsetting and we are not going back. The manager told us to take our complaints to Corporate. I don't believe that will get us very far but we will do it. Beware and look for everything plus your receipt before you leave this store. And if they argue with you at checkout, leave your stuff there and go somewhere else. It's just not worth it. read more

I've been here twice now and think I like this store but still not sure! I came here for the grand opening and there was an expected line outside. I was one of the first 100 people to walk in so I got a 50% off haircut coupon, score! I love the Ulta line of makeup and was disappointed to see the lip color I like out of stock.....at the grand opening. The second time I went they didn't have it in stock either (although I confirmed that they still carry the color) so that was frustrating. I redeemed my haircut coupon and had an appointment with Bella. She was friendly but not too chatty (which I kinda loved after working a full day) and she did a beautiful job on the cut and style, I will definitely go back to her. Other than that, the parking lot/shopping center is a sh$*show during the weekend and I've been approached by homeless men for money while walking to my car. read more

I went to Ulta Beauty and, after calling ahead to ask if I could use my mom's rewards points, I got a $77 haircut, tipped the stylist $14 and went to the front to check out. When I gave them my rewards phone number, they asked for my driver's license. Since I didn't have my purse with me, I didn't have my ID. The manager, who was an African American lady with long fake eyelashes, told me I couldn't use my reward points. I asked if my mom could go in and show them her ID to see if I could use the points another day, but she said no, claiming it was theft. My mom was skeptical when I told her about this, so she called the Ulta near her and was told that her points were hers, and being a diamond member, she could give permission for me to use the points. In the end, my mom did exactly what the manager at the first Ulta told me was theft. Now, I have to spend all my points at the other Ulta, which is way further away from where I live. The whole thing was embarrassing and I felt like a criminal. read more

After having stick straight hair for years, I decided to get a perm. I consulted with their master stylist and told her that I wanted body curls. She explained that with my long hair, larger curls would fall out so she recommended smaller ones in different sizes. I told her I didn't want a poodle do and she reassured me it wouldn't look like that. Well...it did and still does. She told me that it would relax. I still look like a poodle. I've gone to two other salons to try and get this fixed. Also...she didn't rinse the perm solution out all the way. My hair was SUPER DAMAGED. It has taken an additional $400 to get it to a point I can deal with. I decided not to go back to try and have them fix it. I don't trust them. She was really nice but didn't do what I want. I wear my hair pulled up a lot now and try to hide the awful perm. It has been almost two months. read more

I love this place because they offer products you'd find at target but also the high end products you'd find at Macy's or Sephora. I always end up buying more than I intend when I come. They have a rewards card program that gives you discounts after you spend a certain amount. Right now online there's a $3.50 off $10 coupon. After Christmas they have lots of holiday items on sale. Workers are friendly here & the space is well organized, clean & guaranteed to offer any beauty product you'd need from beauty tools, accessories to beauty products. read more

The customer service has certainly gone downhill since this store first opened. I stopped by on a recent trip to stock up on my favorite go-to brands: Pacifica, Burt's Bees, and Yes to Carrots. I like browsing the high-end products as well so I made a mental note to stop by briefly in that section. When I entered the store, I immediately noticed that everything was a lot more disorganized and out of place. The employee that greeted me was nice and friendly, but every employee that I encountered afterwards made my experience disappointing. I was closely followed by two employees while I was in the high-end makeup section and felt extremely uncomfortable after ten minutes. I quickly went to the aisles where I could find the items I was looking for from my go-to brands but many of the items were out of stock. I tried to find an employee for help but there were none available on the side of the store that I was on, so I asked one of the employees from earlier but they were hesitant in assisting me and could not answer any of my questions about the products I was looking for. I ended up leaving the store empty-handed and felt discouraged from returning. read more

I just had an AMAZING experience and it was all due to the help of Harley!!! She was an absolute doll, she was super friendly and did a bare face makeover on me showing me many different products to help my skin stay glowing and healthy looking without being super shiny! I am so happy because I've recently been put on a bunch of hormone medications that make me hot and sweat a lot, unfortunately, but after she used Urban Decay foundation and setting powder with the long lasting makeup spray, I am thrilled! I went out to the car and it is a super hot day, my makeup base stayed on that she did and looks flawless! Getting older can be hard but when you meet a salesperson with the patience and knowledge that listens to your needs as well as she did, there's no reason NOT to embrace it! Thank you Harley! Upon them calling me to confirm, they told me the highlights were not apart of that deal even though it does not state that is excludes highlights on the coupon and says "ANY COLOR SERVICE" Whatever- I'll pay the full price of $98. When checking out (after my 3.5 hour appt) I was charged for a deep conditioning treatment and toner treatment I didn't even ask for nor was I told was extra. She just applied this stuff at will and I'm left to foot the bill. Not cool. Will not be returning to the salon. read more

When I made a hair appointment with Ulta's salon, I had high hopes, especially after Lorisa told me she was considered master stylist (the highest rank). I told her I wanted a trim with some long layers. She held up a piece of my hair showing how much she would cut off (about 2 inches), which is what I wanted, so I agreed. I quickly regretted my decision when I saw Lorisa chopping away very long pieces of my hair. This was tolerable....until she began doing my layers, or should I say, LAYER. That's right, Lorisa cut my hair one length, then took the top portion of my hair and cut it another length (about 4 inches shorter than the other). Lorisa never let a silent moment pass by, so finally when I could get a word in, I commented "wow, that part looks really short," to which she replied, "oh honey, you've still got all your hair," then continued without addressing my issue or even taking my opinion into consideration. Again, I say, ONE LAYER. I left the salon with hopes that after styling it myself and using my own products, surly it would look different. I was wrong. Still, I have one long layer down my chest and one short layer; the majority of my hair is the shorter layer. I will NOT being returning to this salon and warn all salon goers to proceed with caution. read more

Last Friday night I came to this Ulta to get my brows waxed and tinted at the Benefit Brow Bar. I was considered a walk-in and figured I wouldn't get it done that night but I asked anyways. The girl working there was Hayden and she was so sweet! She told me that she had one ahead of me after the girl she was currently working with and asked if I would be able to wait 30-40 minutes. Surprised that I'd even get it done that night I waited and walked around. Sure enough, once she was done with the two ahead of me, I was next. She was so friendly and made my brows look fantastic! I had never gotten them tinted before either but after she was done, it looked natural and also like my brows were already filled in. She then proceeded to fill them in and made them look awesome. I am definitely coming back to her to get my brows done next month. read more
