This Ulta is my go-to makeup store! When covid was at its worst, I still managed to get products through their curbside pickup. I tend not to shop their online app anymore because this location is right near me. I showed up today with my mom because I had a gift card and wanted to see if I could find a decent moisturizer here that didn't break the bank. Their prestige makeup is always very alluring, but a tad too expensive for me. Since it's the holidays, they were set up with their products that would make good gifts, front and center. I was buying something for myself, however, so I didn't really pay attention. The store is very well organized, though! Just as I started looking for the perfect moisturizer, one caught my eye almost instantly. I like water based, gel moisturizer, so the one from Neutrogena I saw was ticking all those boxes. I grabbed the box and went up to the cash registers. Though there was no one there at first (totally understandable, as the staff was out on the floor helping other customers), I didn't wait long. A store associate who was finished helping someone came up to the register and apologized for the wait, which was nice of her. We chatted about some things we ended up having in common and she was probably the nicest, most pleasant staff member I've ever met there. It was great that she didn't rush me through the checkout process like a lot of retail workers do this time of year (as a former retail grunt, I totally understand why). Stopped into Ulta for help with color for my lips... that's when I met Pearl. She was exactly the person I needed. She not only helped me choose the color that would look best for me but also showed me how to apply it. ( I'm not a makeup person) . Pearl even showed me a clear topcoat to make my lips shine. I went into Ulta looking for some guidance on a couple different hair product. I was greeted kindly & then helped by Pearl & then Sarah as well. these ladies are wonderful for starter. I have fairly long hair and it was damaged over the last year. Pearl was a treat to work with & she was very knowledgeable with hair care. I wanted to get Olaplex but it was not the correct product for what I needed. The Matrix products recommended to me are an absolute game changer for my hair. pearl and Sarah were very professional and personable with my experience. I believe this may be my first Ulta experience. Certainly the first at this location. It's in the Plaza with Barnes and Noble and Nordstrom Rack. I came looking for a specific product. Walking in it's big. Rows of racks. Labeled by name, L'Oréal etc. There seemed to be a lot of employees. But none acknowledged me or even noticed me I think. Odd. Super long checkout line with one person working a register. I wandered around for a while looking for the product. Finally found someone who was willing to help me. So weird. The employee who helped me was very good. But also very distracted. Talked to other staff as they walked by. This was a very odd experience. There were plenty of other shoppers there, so this place will be around. But it'll be in-spite of themselves if my experience today was typical. read more

I love the Ulta app, and I love curbside pickup! It's instant gratification,since you don't have to wait for shipping. On the app you can see what's in stock, and what's on sale. You can also find out what coupons are available, and if there's a special deal, ie "Platinum members get 5x the points today". You can also track your rewards points. It's really easy to pick a store and place your order. You'll get text alerts about your order status. I've done the curbside pickup two or three times. I'll just call the store when I'm in the parking lot,and drive right up to the door. The staff has always been nice and friendly. They'll come right up to your car,and they're wearing masks. I usually have them go to my passenger window. Employees will give your bag once they verify ID. So easy and satisfying. read more

Oh right, the traffic.... that part is a bit of a bummer. + Curbside pick up: though I haven't personally tried this myself, my friend buys online and grabs her stuff pretty quickly + Loyalty program: they can pull you right up by searching your phone no. This is the Alpha and Omega, of all beauty supply stores. There is a huge amount of makeup, and facial care products to choose from. They also carry a plethora of top name brand products. Forgot my go to foundation back in NYC so I stopped by to find something similar as it made no sense to buy the exact same foundation when I have a nearly new one already. Kelly was amazing. She assisted me in my purchase of a concealer from the same brand that I can finesse to use as a base. I normally buy my lashes from my local Beauty Supply store and they didn't have the exact lash number I wanted. Kelly showed me one of her favorite lashes so I purchased that. It was a wonderful shopping experience, which means everything when time constraints, preparing for tonight's 1st anniversary date and Covid concerns are foremost on your mind. read more

Salon service gone bad. The girl was sweet but the treatment was bad. Requested refund. Christine, store manager, refused and would not let me explain what happened. Shocked by the terrible treatment by a store manager. Advised to contact Guest Services (HQ). Told not their problem. Deb, district manager, will not respond. No way to resolve an issue with bad salon service or a store issue. Customer loses. Guest Services says the have nothing to do with store service. Very odd. Just read Ulta is being sued in 18 states. I only come here for the buy 1 get one 50% off NYX cosmetics. High quality, moderately-priced, and then continually on sale and $3.50 off $15 every week. Aside from that, the staff is fairly useless except Nicole (blonde), who is very sweet and helpful. Today I went in, grabbed a few items, then stood in line for 5 mins with NO ONE at the registers and 4 people ahead of me. I wandered through the store and found a girl finally, and when I told her there was a line and no one at the registers she said, "Okay?" and did not seem surprised at all. This review is for the hair salon. I had my haircut today with Kris Henry and she did an excellent job! She was very friendly and listened to me carefully while I was explaining how I would like my haircut to be and she gave me the exact cut that I was looking for. I spent a bit more than I expected but it is totally worth it since I literally love my new haircut! I was introduced to this store and their line of products by a friend. She had gifted me a beautiful basket of products. One in particular is the Ulta Beauty ultra- rich body butter in Nectarine Rose. What an amazing product!! The smell is not over powering and the body butter includes Shea butter,sweet almond oil and other beneficial ingredients to help keep your skin hydrated. I also discovered a great shampoo and conditioner called, Keratin Complex. This product is absolutely positively amazing if you need a Keratin smoothing therapy product to tame your locks and maintain your Keratin treatment. I find that the store is always understaffed which is disappointing. I have never been able to walk in and walk out of this store. Today, the store was in shambles as the team was reorganizing products and it was difficult to navigate thru the store without stepping on boxes or brushing by someone. I personally believe that the company should re-think their floor plans. I know some people with disabilities would appreciate the space in the stores floor plan between the the aisles. The girls at check-out gave wonderful customer service and were kind enough to help me with my coupons and point redemption process. Thank you. read more

Ulta is pretty much like another Sephora but so many more affordable options with so much versatility in the beauty world. Similar to Sephora, you can also create a membership card and collect points which as cash value to it. Now, Ulta has been partnering with so many new brands such as MAC and WetnWild with sale items every few weeks. Be sure to always check out their website for steals! Their customer service is a little lacking at the store - there aren't too many associates BUT trust, this place is paradise! I'm a big fan of Ulta because they are generous with store coupons, accept coupons from other make-up brands, and have a lot of stuff to choose from. I personally am a huge fan of the Ulta brand eye shadows and eye pencils. They have sales on their brand a couple times a year where eye pencils are $1 and shadows are $2. If I have a $3.50 off of $10 coupon, I stock up on the colors I prefer to use. During one of these sales (other brands are often buy one get one or other great deals), I spent $12 on over $50 of makeup because of all of the coupons I had. I love me a good sale!!! They have a great variety of all beauty products. Hair dye, shampoo, hair products, blow dryers, straighteners, body washes, lotions, waxing products, hair barrettes, etc. Ulta is like a mix between a Sephora and a drug store. They have the more expensive brands but they also have Rimmel and Maybelline. If you are a beauty product junkie, you will love Ulta. And sign up for their rewards card. You get more coupons!! My only complaint is where the Ulta brand make up is located. Up by the registers, right where people line up to pay. It is not easy to access at all and you feel like you're in the way! I have been a "member" for several years and never had an issue with any location. However I recently received an email stating spend $60 receive a free gist worth $60. I placed an order for more than $60 but noticed the "free gift" was not being shown as being processed. I tried to contact customer service via their chat button. No response after 20 minutes of waiting. Called the 800 number listed as customer service and got "Daniella". She basically told me there was nothing she could do but if I wanted to place the order again that the gift would be included in the second order, and then I could simply return the first order. When I told her that was unacceptable and wanted to speak to a manager I was continually put on hold and then told that no manager was available. After about 10 tries Daniella told me her superior told her supervisors don't take calls. I asked to speak to her and was told that her superior would not take any calls. I completely agree with another poster who stated that she couldn't find anyone to help. I was trying to buy a new foundation and needed help with a color match. There were a few girls at the counter but no one to be seen close to the Ulta brand. When I finally tracked down a woman, she specifically told me that she works in the Clinique section and made it seem like I was creating a problem by asking for help elsewhere. Love Ulta, I am a Platinum member and have been coming here since they opened. I was never a fan of any of their competitors so when they finally brought a location to Buffalo i was excited to see what it had to offer. The staff is always friendly, i have had a few girls who seems a little bothered when asking for questions but nothing to the point where it has made me disappointed with the service. I've witnessed a staff member handle an extremely rude customer in the past and she did a great job of doing so, polite and calm to the customer who was screaming at her because the line was so long. If anything has ruined my experience its the rude customers that come in here. I almost always chat with the ladies working when I am checking out and they are so social I love it! I ask them questions on what they use if I like what they have on makeup wise, normally I end up buying it because it looks so good on them. (It's usually their mascara, my weakness) Obviously i will continue to come back! read more

Ulta is like an amusement park for women of all ages. From hair supplies to nail stuff to bath and body to makeup and perfume, anything beauty-esque you could need, they have. I enjoy that they have an array of brands, from the cheap end Maybelline/NYC etc to the high end Urban Decay and Too Faced. Some people don't need $40 dollar mascara, other people do. I like that they have stuff for everyone. The only thing I don't like is the beauty staff. I feel like they are just generally good looking people they hired who also wear a lot of makeup. Went to have my hair highlighted in July 2018. Was pleased with how it turned out, and so I decided to return to have it touched up in October later that year. Unfortunately, the second appointment was unlike the first. The hairdresser (who was the same stylist I saw earlier that year) bleached most of my hair blonde, instead of just freshening up the highlights that were already there. My hair was fried. Half of it was an icy blonde and the other half was orange. She must've realized her mistake because half way through drying my hair, she turned it off and said we were finished, letting me leave with hair that was still damp. It wasn't until I went home that I realized the extent of the damage. My hair was like straw. I know accidents happen, and sometimes the style doesn't turn out the way you imagined, but this was intolerable. The next day I had to pay another stylist (at a different salon) $80 to dye my hair back to its natural color. This was on top of the $140 I had to pay Ulta the previous day. I called about a week and a half later to speak to a manager who waited to respond until the two week refund period expired. She said there was nothing that could be done. My hair used to be wavy and I loved to curl/diffuse it. Now it doesn't curl. More disturbingly, I've experienced excessive hair loss that is becoming more and more noticeable ever since my hair was bleached at Ulta. I used to be a regular customer, visiting Ulta Beauty for all my cosmetic needs. But no more. I am so disgusted. read more

Normally I love Ulta and have been coming here for years. However, today I was not greeted and asked if I needed help like I normally would be. After browsing for about 5 minutes waiting to be approached, I went up to the counter and asked for assistance. The sole cashier was swamped and told me another associate would come help me shortly. After I wandered around for 10 minutes waiting for said associate to approach me, which by the way she passed by me several times without a word, I left in frustration. I went into Ulta looking for new foundation for my cousins wedding this weekend. I was approached by a beauty consultant, who seemed knowledgeable and nice and offered her assistance. I think she may have been promoting another brand for the store? In any event, I told her I have sensitive skin and cannot use just anything on my face. She stared trying different foundations and must've realized how bad my face was and did not stop with the negative comments about my skin?! I have Eczema and was going through a bad flare. I have been coming here for a while, never leave without spending a lot of money. Stopped here on 5/2 got there at 9:50 and they were not open yet. Ran to get a coffee came back it was 9:56. It was windy and rainy, and cold! One girl was just coming in and they had to open the door for her. Neither one of those women acknowledged me standing there, no hello, no we're not quite open but come in out of this weather. So extremely rude. I left went to sephora and spent my money there! I recently had my hair cut and styled at this Ulta salon, my haircut was basic and Erica did a nice job. After I was finished I shopped in the store for a while. Unfortunately, most of the employees in the store were standing in a group just chatting about someones dog. This made me feel uncomfortable when I needed to ask a question, or look at the products near where they were standing around. This is not the first time this has happened at this particular Ulta, the employees are either nowhere to be found, or act as if you're bothering them with your question. This store is also poorly kept up, many items are out of stock, and the testers are almost always out of order and messy, even right after the store opens for the day. Poor service, and sloppy product displays, not worth spending money here. read more

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. I have never had worse service. I was one of probably four customers in the store. All the employees were so rude and didn't even acknowledge me when I was looking clueless at the wall of same colored foundation. Then the one thing I actually came for (WELLA dry shampoo) wasn't on the shelves. The one Bottle I found was half empty. When I told the associate and asked if they had any more, she said "oh". Oh what? sorry, there's none left right now? oh that sucks? They acted like I was such a burden shopping there. I'll take my credit card and need all things make up to Sephora. read more

This review is for the salon . Horrible service! The hairdresser whose name I believe was Lynn , washed my hair with freezing water ( the warm was not functioning at that sink) . She was totally uncapable of styling my hair and all she kept saying was that my hair is dry and was trying to sell me a treatment . I paid 37$ only to go home and have to wash my hair again as it looked terrible. I can't speak of the other hairdressers but Lynn is terrible ! read more

I was in there the other day browsing and one of the employees were helping another customer and she just went right in front of where I was looking and didn't even say excuse me. She was just getting super close to me in my personal space the whole time like I wasn't even there and it just irked me. Then the girl who cashed me out seemed bothered by me because she was having too much fun with her coworker to do her job, and anything she had to say to me she said with no emotion like I was such an inconvenience. This is the most over rated beauty/cosmetics store in the area. The staff are pre-occupied with their assigned duties of organizing shelves, dusting, talking to the store security etc..and much too busy to help you. When they do find a spare moment they are rude, rushed and have an attitude. The test samples of products are used up and really don't look like something you would want to touch to your skin, unless you want to catch something. The floors are dirty and at times slippery. However no one seems to mind much. There is no one to help you with the hair products. You have to interrupt a stylist as she is doing someone's hair to ask a question. Which takes me to my next observation...who wants to have their hair done in a salon with constant interruptions? I had to give 1 star. But if I had my choice this place would receive no stars. That's right folks zero. If you want to go to a really nice place with a friendly professional staff go to Sephora. They are the best. If you order on line from Sephora their 2nd day air is really 2nd day air!!! read more
