After the way I was spoken to by the "manager" here I will never return and will be telling my friends the same, The Hispanic young man literally told me he was to busy to help me. He was carrying a trash bag. He couldn't put down his all important trash bag and answer one question? His tone was condescending and extremely rude. I felt like I was just not important to him. Our family shopped here exclusively until recently. I'm not sure if management changed or what, but it's not the same. ULTA sent out an expired coupon to their premium members and the store wouldn't honor it until the second customer service representative spoke with them to let them know that ULTA erroneously sent them out. We were called liars by Dian even when customer service told her we had never used the coupon and that it was ULTA that screwed up. This isn't the first time ULTA has sent out expired coupons and it makes me think this is done intentionally to get you in to shop and they don't honor the coupons. When we called to speak to the manager, Dian told us the manager wasn't in that day and refused to give me the name and phone number. Then, after I told her I would just call another store and get it, she puts someone on the phone that says she's the manager. I asked if she was really the manager as I was told the manager wasn't in. She said her name was Simone and she was the assistant manager. I tried explaining what had just happened in the store but she interrupted me and stated "oh you were the mother and daughter that was just here". I said I was , but if she was aware of the issue, why didn't she address it while I was there? Then she asked me what I wanted , like I wanted something for free. I told her all I wanted was for her staff to be properly trained so this didn't happen again. I never received a call back or an email so I choose to shop somewhere else. The staff was so rude! They made me cry when I got home on my BIRTHDAY for how they treated me with disrespect! I was trying to redeem my birthday gift and $10 off email coupon I never received and they seemed to not care said "ugh hate this, hate people like that", uhhmmm excuse me? Frequently, the store is out of the specific color, scent or product I am looking for. So whoever is in charge of ordering, doesn't know which items move or doesn't care. There are always visually empty spaces everywhere. Over the years, it looks more like a discount store versus what it claims to be. The coupons are a plus, but 90+% of the time, the $3.50 discount won't apply to the higher end items where they are needed. So, why not go to Sephora? read more

I had an appointment at the salon to do my hair for my Barrister's Ball this past weekend. I am half black, half Korean, and my hair is naturally wavy but straightens easily. I arrived at the salon with my hair already straightened. When I first approached the counter, I was just asked what I was there for. I told the female stylist at the counter that I had an appointment and she told me to come around and sit. She asked me what I wanted and I told her I wanted soft waves in my hair, with an off-center part and then to have my hair pulled back and into an updo. I showed her a photo on my phone. She seemed very confused and stated that it wouldn't be possible. I stared at her blankly since it's a very simple hairstyle. She kept saying how she couldn't do so and so because it would do this and I told her that no, it would be fine and again repeated what I wanted. She walked off and retrieved a male stylist and told him what I wanted. He told her basically what I said I wanted which was to curl sections of my hair and pin it up. He said he had to go on break but would return to help her. She started to curl my hair and seemed very reluctant about it. She wasn't very conversational, instead directing most of her conversation to another stylist and that stylist's client. When the male stylist returned, he smelled of smoke but he immediately took over for my female stylist. I was a bit put off by the smell of smoke and how he would put bobby pins in his mouth before putting them in my hair. When the female stylist came back over to observe what he was doing, he made a comment about how my hair wasn't "nice and smooth" like "hers" (a white client sitting across from me) so it had to be ironed differently or something like that. Hmm... what? My hair might have split ends, but I'm sure it is just as soft as the white girl sitting across from me. Besides that ignorant comment, the male stylist was way more friendly than the female stylist and he made my hair look great. However, due to all of the factors I've already listed, the salon experience left a bad taste in my mouth. This was not my first salon visit, but it is definitely my last. This place is the greatest place on earth! I call it home and it brings me so much peace and serenity (except on Black Friday when it's a madhouse). The staff are always so kind and helpful and are always willing to make a recommendation for a product within your budget. PLEASE NOTE: If money is a little tight, stay on the left side, don't even tempt yourself. But if you've got some to blow, go ahead and get lost in all the pleasures of the right side of the store! And now that they have a credit card, there's really need to go to sephora. Those points accumulate so quickly that it just gives me more of an incentive to stay right here! Enjoy! read more

I wavered between 2 & 3 stars for this location. I decided on 3 because most visits to this store aren't horrible, but definitely not positive experiences. There are so many reasons why I dislike this location. First, the store is usually completely filthy. They've gotten a little better over the last few years, but not much. It's rarely clean and orderly in there: the testers are nasty, there are always stock carts all over the floor, as well as products out of place on the shelves. Second, they're frequently out of stock on certain items. I try to avoid asking them to check for stock in drawers or in the back because of the attitude I get when I do so. I always get the standard, "If it's not on the floor, we don't have it" response. Third, the customer service at this location is lacking... I usually get borderline rude and unhelpful service, even from the shift managers. Once I asked about a new makeup line that was reportedly coming to Ulta and the shift manager sighed and rolled her eyes. Apparently people had been asking about it all day. I understand it's exasperating having to answer the same question over and over again, but that's your job! I try to order online or go to the Snellville location whenever I can, but if I need something right away, I have to go into the Buford store. I was here earlier with my girlfriend as she was looking for some products and some sale items, and overall the place was ok. We were greeted by majority of the workers. But there was One worker in particular that was just standing around engaging in conversation about someone she was dating and it was just so unprofessional , the worst part of it was that she was blocking a display of products that my girlfriend wanted to took at and didn't even bother moving and continued talking and looked at us as if he were bothering her, she should be ashamed! and needs to be fired. I was out shopping for christmas gifts this particular night. I had spent at LEAST an hour hand picking my favorite products. I walked up to the register and placed my items on hold with a sassy male employee with long hair... He took my name & number and placed my bagged items on the counter where they hold items to be purchased. I told him my mom would be right back to purchase the items... I went outside for LITERALLY less than 8 minutes. My mom comes back from the store and tells me some incompetant worker put all my products (about 8 things) back on the shelves. Why were my things that were in the holding area with my NAME and number labeled put back? I was so upset. I had spent so long and it wasn't even close to closing time yet?? I am still so very confused at that.The manager had no explanation and offered to help me pick out the items all over again..... That was NO HELP & would just waste MORE of my time. Wow-Will not shop here again. Staff was completely rude. Your shopping bag ruined a sweater of mine when the red rubbed off all over wrist and sweater. When I showed the staff, who admitted it did it, I received absolutely no apology. Learn some basic customer service. I've always been a Sephora girl but I decided to give this Ulta a try while I was in the area and had a question for a salon representative about a product. Upon trying to get her attention, as she was cleaning a chair, and she looked at me like I had four heads. I proceeded to ask my question anyway and she, with her annoyed demeanor replies, "well I don't know what it would do. You'd have to try it on your own hair." Oh okay, thanks. Place was very dusty and dirty and cluttered when we went because they were going through major renovations, so that aspect couldn't be helped, and maybe it was because of all the fixing, that there wasn't much to look at. Employees are not knowledgable of coupon policies and are nowhere to be found on the sales floor - even in prestige brands section. Wish I could leave zero stars. Experience was absolutely horrible. My mom and I came in here trying to look for perfume and some makeup. We were watched like HAWKS from the moment we walked in. First we went over the presume aisle and I'm guessing she's a manager?? She was staring at us so hard, so we walked away and went over towards the Juvia's pallets to swatch them, and on over to the NYX products. That was the last straw. I picked up two two lipglosses and i made eye contact with not only the manager but two other employees all grouped together staring at us while we shopped. Honestly, I made a yelp account just to write this review. I'm that angry about the way my sister was treated at this location. She had gone into Ulta and spent about 80$ on product. Upon arriving home, she realized her face powder was not in her bag. After looking everywhere for it, she realized it was not put in the bag after she paid for it so she called the store. She explained what had happened and was asked if she had her receipt. She had chosen the "email receipt" option at checkout but NEVER GOT HER EMAILED RECEIPT? The manager then proceeds to tell her they have to look her up on the cameras to find her shopping and the cashier ringing up the item. They called her back 20 minutes later saying she was not on camera. THEN called back another 10 minutes later to say that they had found her on camera and the cashier DID NOT put the item in the bag. My sister has struggled with her skin and confidence with her looks for a veryyyy long time. She had a flight out of town for a weekend with friends a few hours after all of this happened, and she needed the makeup that she planned to take with her. She had to drive 20 minutes back to the store and was incredibly inconvenienced not to mention STRESSED about the item she needed for her trip. Did she get anything for her inconvenience? A refund? A discount? NO. Ulta was incredibly unprofessional in the first place for not believing her and making her wait by the phone while they looked at the cameras for her as if she was a liar/thief. I am enraged. You're in the business of making people feel good about themselves and the way they look. Learn the meaning of CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

I've been going to this location for the past two years. The location typically is out of at least 1-2 of the list of products I came in to get. Also the sales associates (SA)/cashiers are not friendly. Whenever I walk in I am never greeted. The SA seem to want to talk to each other versus their customers. Today was no exception. This is the best Ulta in Georgia! Usually I go to the Macy's in the mall for my Lancome products. Well now this particular location carries a full Lancome line, Estée Lauder Clinique and MAC!! The store has been redone and it's beautiful. Natasha at the Lancôme counter at Ulta is phenomenal! The professionalism she exudes is refreshing. She spoke to everyone that passed by. I was really impressed by her eagerness to provide assistance to all the shoppers. She's not pushy for sales like the girls in the mall, and she even helped me find a product in another line! I was in town for a wedding last month and decided at the last minute to get my makeup done. I was nervous because I'm not normally a makeup person but Tory met and exceeded my expectations! I went to this store to specifically get a buy 2 get 1 free on a specific item. When I got to the store they only had 1 of the product I needed on the shelf. I looked all over the store to find an associate to ask if they had more product in back. I even went up front to ask a cashier but the one cashier had 7 people in line. No way was I going to wait in that line just to ask my question. I walked the store several times over, looking for more of the product or some one to ask. Ulta, give this more store payroll to have at least one sales associate on the floor to ask a question or install some buttons to press so customers can request assistance. I WON'T be back. I have to brag about our experience at this salon. I took my sister in for hair advice following an emotional week of unexpected events. She was hospitalized for a week after having to deliver her baby a month early. Due to some medical problems she ended up with horribly tangled and matted hair. After being rudely turned away by another salon we went into Ulta asking for product/technique advice. God must have been looking out for us because Veronica, our hair angel, offered to help us pick through the tangles. After 2 hours of tears, determination, lots of detangler, and Veronica's magical skills my sister was fixed! She went from being broken, hopeless, and embarrassed to confident, smiling, and assured! The entire staff at Ulta at the Mall of Ga was wonderful! I cannot sing their praises enough. They helped my sister and I am forever grateful! Thank you, thank you, thank you! read more

I shop at Ulta frequently and have had no issues in the past but today I received the worst service while shopping. I am not the type of person to complain due to the fact that I am in the customer service industry as well but this is unacceptable. I was shopping for face lotions and serums and proceeded to pump the TESTER product on my hand to see what it felt like when the employee came up and told me to "give it to her and said no one can really use it now that I have." I told her that I was putting it in my bag and she just walked away with an attitude. I had several things in my bag and went to the checkout line and told the cashier that one of the employees was very rude and I would like to know the managers name and if I could speak to her a moment, and the cashier said "her name is Simone and she is in a pink shirt" and called the next person in line. She could of called for her manager on her headset but instead had me looking all over the store for a woman in a pink shirt. I walked around the store and could not find her and no other employees would help me even though they knew I was obviously looking for someone. Overall, this store is not the best Ulta I've seen - but I wanted to write a review for a very helpful associate I met today named Terah. Not sure if she is a manager or an associate, but I spoke with her on the phone about a previous purchase I made on a Bare Minerals item that I thought was supposed to give me 5x reward points, but did not. When I spoke with Terah she explained to me that the error was actually on my end. Instead of just leaving the conversation at that (which many customer service reps would do), she very kindly told me how I could fix the problem. When I went back to the store to return/repurchase the item so I could get my points, Terah was actually the person to ring up my transaction, and she was so great. Super friendly, helpful, etc.... definitely more engaging and helpful than some of the other associates. Terah, your help was truly appreciated! read more

I have to concur with most of the other reviewers for this location. This Ulta location has the worst customer service I have ever experienced in an Ulta store. I was trying to get a credit for a purchase I made in the Ulta store in Marina Del Ray, CA (where the customer service was impeccable--my companion practically had to ask an employee to go away because they were so eager to help--a great problem to have, btw) and there was 1 person in the line when I came in. However, when that person left to go get another product, the cashier, Meghan, left me standing there (still in line) without a word for several minutes before even acknowledging me. When she finally moved over to another register to help me, she barely spoke to me but went way out of her way to speak to an incoming customer. There were 2 main differences between me and the woman who came in--I was friendly and smiling, while the woman she spoke to did not even reply to her greeting; the other difference was in our complexions. Please note, she did not speak to me when I came in. They never have to worry about being rude to me again because I am never going back there.
