I wanted to start off by saying that I love the atmosphere at CouturEye. The interior is very clean and nice. I went to my first lash appointment with Brandi a month ago, she's very sweet and I really enjoyed talking to her. I got 2D lash extensions from her. She asked me if I wanted them short, medium or long lashes and I told her I wanted them long. She suggested to get medium because my eyes are quite small and I agreed with her because I wanted them slightly natural for my Vietnam trip anyways. I really love the 2D lashes that she gave me! For my second appointment I went to Chelsea because Brandi was completely booked on the only day I was available. I decided to try 3D lash extensions instead because I have a few weddings to go to this month so I wanted a more dramatic look. I told Chelsea that I wanted either a gorgeous lash shape or a open eye shape. Chelsea suggested to me that I should do open eyelash shape because I have hooded eyes and my natural lashes follow an open eye. I told her I was really tired from work and I wasn't in a chatty mood. Chelsea was understanding and said it's okay that I didn't have to if I didn't want to. She's really sweet and I felt confident that she'll make my lashes look amazing and they are! I was going here for about a month and a half and I did like the lashes that I received but recently...during the holidays, They raised their prices $50 more and charging up to $200 for some mega volume when their lashes are not worth that price. why are natural lashes $100 for a full set when they were just $60... Love my new lashes! Thanks to my beauty guru bestie, I got a reasonable priced extensions and love it!!! Coutur Eye is located in the office buildings off of Satellite Blvd in Duluth, across from QT and Shane's Co. While the exterior, looking like law offices, is a bit odd/off from your expectation of a lash shop, inside is very cozy. Make sure to make an appointment in advance as they book up pretty quickly. (Note, they do take your credit card information over the phone to charge your $5 cancellation/late fee.) I was lucky to have gotten an appointment within couple of days as Brandi (I believe is the owner as well) was available if I was okay to have students watching her do magic on my lashes. It ended up being only 1 student watching and I actually enjoyed her instructions as it was my very first time getting my lashes done and was informative. They have about 5 rooms where you lie down on a tattoo chair for an hour and close your eyes while they glue the lashes. Being my first time, I did 2D mink, which is essentiallly gluing 2 extensions to each of your original lashes. While my lashes are long, they're straight and never gave me the volumous look and the results were magical! It was $70 today, but not sure on the costs for fillers especially I think I wanna go for 3D next time. Either way, I don't think you can beat the price anywhere else! Scheduled through website rushed all the way from the other side of town to get there just for nobody to be there. The phones didn't work just an automated line and they are suites so all the door were locked. I then got in touch with someone just for them to reschedule me. I did go to the rescheduled appointment and ofcourse had to wait. Once they lady got there she had me sit and wait while she pranced around in her stripper heel. Very rude very nasty upon arrival. I was the only once there but for some reason she had to walk between both spaces to do what who knows. Eventually she had me come in told me to wash my hands and sit in the room. Still sat and waited. Let's keep in mind she was late. She eventually found out that I was a lash tech as well lol. THATS MY FAVORITE PART. But it was after she rudely explained how the lashes work. She then finally was able to start she loosening up and started talking. Overall lash look was mediocre. Lashes didn't last AT ALL. Would I recommend? No. read more

Had my first appointment with Brandi this morning. The price was right and my eyelashes are wonderfully done. Zero bedside manner and customer service in my opinion. My feet and ankle were falling asleep and i tried to flex my toes a bit. She got mad and told me to stop moving while my eyelashes are being installed. "You must stay still" she said. I explained that i was in plain, and I asked for a pillow to put under my knees to ease my discomfort while laying flat on my back. My knees and hips were hurting. She said 'NO' point blank "i do not have one". She didn't care about my discomfort. Moreover, I am very polite and friendly in nature. The silence from her was very awkward. She answered my questions about micro-blading and future fill ins. After paying i requested a 3 week follow up appointment which she readily booked:) I tried to overlook the lousy customer service and rude attitude, but few hours later, I realized that no one should be treated in such a manner no matter how affordable the service was. I called her back and cancelled my future appointment. She didn't care to keep my business. I believe she has over 2000 clients, and does not give a damn about losing my business. I would not be returning to this salon. I believe that there are so many eyelash professionals out there. I just have to find one that won't make me feel like i don't matter. If I could give this business a zero I would! Not only was customer service crap here, their integrity as humans suck as well. Please explain to me why I have an additional charge on my card for $300.00 TWO days after my one and ONLY appointment ( the day after I wrote my initial review about them). Not only was there an unauthorized charge to my card, the charge that I signed for at the time of appointment changed as well. The visit cost me $80 and the charge to my card was $90 on my credit card account activity. These charges are NOT pending with my account, they have been posted and deducted. Ok am I crazy here..? I had my lash extensions done on on 5/22. It is 5/31 and literally every single one has fallen off. When I came in, Chelsea was there to do my set and she seem really disinterested in me. And then when I went to lay down to get my lashes done she didn't really ask me what I wanted, I had to personally ask was kind of curl and length she was going to do. Then she kind of was like oh yeah that'll be fine and then I laid down to get my lashes done. There was a REALLY weird soap opera on and even when I said "this is a really weird show" she just kinda said uhu and didn't offer to change it. Maybe I'm used to something else but I have had my lashes done before and usually they explain the type of lashes they will use and put on calming music so you can fall asleep. The whole process took about an hour and I was happy with my initial lashes. I followed all procedures and didn't get them wet for 24 hours and I didn't even wear makeup so I could be extra careful. I felt like she wasn't happy that I bought the lowest cost option and so didn't really care which makes me sad. But honestly. Half of these lashes were gone by day 4 and all. LITERALLY all are gone today and it's been 8 days. I just think that's kind of crazy. As I recall, In my book I am a regular if i revisit your business for 4 months(4-6 visits in all, every 3 weeks) How long does it take for you to value your clients? When you told me about your home burning down I did try to show you my appreciation for your service by tipping you way over 20%. I don't know what else you can expect. This place has absolutely TERRIBLE customer service. The stylist answered the phone in the middle of working on my eye lashes, and I could hear her sending texts through the session. It's no surprise that almost all the lashes fell out of my left eye in only 2 days. It was horribly embarrassing. When I called to let the owner what happened, she was extremely rude and yelled at me until I had to hang up the phone. She acted like she was going to make it right. The next session went well, but when I called back to schedule a fill-in, she refused to book an appointment for me. If you're looking for a petty, short-tempered stylist, this is the place for you. I've come here twice and each time I come, I leave with what I didn't ask for and what I'm forced to pay for. I booked dramatic volume and was left with classics. Honestly, never again. Not to talk of my appearance being insulted throughout the entire appointment and learning that her employee was texting her boss during my first appointment talking mess about me because she didn't know how to do my lashes. When I first booked I put a disclaimer that I have naturally curly lashes that are sometimes hard to work with. Before her employee could begin I reiterated my disclaimer and she responded with saying she's never worked with curly lashes before, so I just told her to try her best. Today, when I entered I took a seat in a chair next to a large Five Below bag. She proceeded to move the bag as if to make me more comfortable and I appreciated the hospitality. She later admitted that she moved the bag because she thought I was a SCAMMER based on my last visit where I requested that my lashes be removed because it was a bad job done. I requested for my lashes to be removed after I already paid so I don't know how I could have possibly been trying to scam them. Trust me, nobody cares what's in a dusty little Five Below bag. As I'm laying on the bed and she does my lashes she makes many comments about my appearance like calling my shorts faded, shirt linty, crocs dirty, and making condescending comments about my hair being wrapped. I had my hair wrapped in a satin scarf because I was running errands for my upcoming trip, and she proceeded to say that her clients that are doctors and nurses wouldn't want to lay in the bed after someone with their hair wrapped laid in it. As someone who's wig was levitating on their head, that was a horrible horrible statement to make and honestly down right disrespectful. When I expressed my dislike for the lashes she made no effort to correct them and make me feel content with the service i was paying for. Instead she rushed me out of the salon with a terrible attitude. She also claimed that i showed her an example image during my first visit of "plastic" lashes, but the photo i showed was the one they were using to advertise that was right there on the check in desk. Shouldn't talk down on your own work when trying to make a point baby girl. I honestly love supporting woman run black businesses but this is one that doesn't deserve support and treats their clients like trash. I believe I got the mascara extension and honestly you can't beat the service and quality of her work at her price point. She is a true professional wanting to get better at her craft. I've had an eyelash extension done only once in my life and it was not a professional job. I didn't know what to expect going into CouturEye. I just decided to go for it after reading the positive reviews. There is a Yelp deal attached, $58 for $125 so that helped the decision process as well. I was able to schedule online and was excited to see that they had an opening for 9pm. I arrived 10 minutes early and Brandi (owner) was with another client and politely advised me that she'd be right with me. Once it was my turn she consulted with me to find out what I liked/wanted and made suggestions. 10 minutes later I felt super comfortable and we talked like old friends. The hr flew by so fast! I felt no pain, no liquid running in my eye, no sticky eyelids, etc. See the 1st time I had them done I experienced all of the above and when they were taken off they took my natural lashes off as well so I was pretty much looking like a bald eagle imo. I almost shed a tear when I looked in the mirror they look so fab and natural. Totally exceeded my expectations! I held off writing a review from my first visit because I thought maybe she was just having a bad day. But after my experience today, I feel comfortable in saying that, although her lash work is good, her customer service and personality is lacking! Visit 1: Only about a 15 minute wait. She was fast. Efficient. But said no more than maybe 3 words the entire time. My attempts to break the ice by complimenting her hair and her boots fell flat. I understand I am not attending a comedy show and I don't expect to be entertained, but I've never had a lash experience so...quiet. And it was just awkward. Luckily she has a soft touch so I fell asleep halfway through. I bought a Groupon, so I had to make my refill appointment within 2 weeks, which I did. The weather was horrible. It was storming and wasn't letting up. My first thought at 8am was to reschedule, but this was the last day within my 2 weeks. Also, I wanted to be considerate, not knowing how far she had to travel, she could have already been en route. I wrapped up and got there at exactly 9:02 for my 9am appt. the door was closed and the shade was down so I knocked on the door. No answer. I heard what I thought was talking (but now assume it was the radio maybe), so I sat in the waiting area, which is close to the door and waited. At about 9:30am I went out to my car for something and decided to call her. She flatly stated that she was there and I didn't show up, so she left?! Huh?! She also stated that she waits no longer than 15 minutes on a customer and I could call and reschedule. (Mind you, this is the day before Christmas!!) I questioned how any of that was possible, since I'd been waiting for half an hour!? I would have seen her walk out. And when she walked out, did she not think to look over at the waiting area? (Hell, maybe my head was down at the time she left?!) And I guess a phone call to the customer is just too much work!? My assumption is that because I was prepaid through a Groupon voucher, my business was just not that valuable. Sad, because I intended on tipping her the full price of the refill, since it is the day before Christmas! The good thing I CAN say, is that my lashes still look decent from 2 weeks ago, so I can still pull it off. I'm just pissed that I had to fight this horrible weather to get here! I've been going to Brandi for quite some time (well over a year) regularly. Started with the silk, graduated to the mink, and come in like clock work. I usually nap while she does my lashes and I've never left once dissatisfied. She's the most affordable lash stylist I've ever been to, uses quality products, sanitary location, and excellent lash placement. I don't even feel my lashes, I go 4 weeks between refills, and usually have quite a few left before I refill. Customer service is always great, she never keeps me waiting, and I am in and out. Having never had lash extensions, I did extensive research price-wise, quality, after-care, facilities, etc. I found CouturEye on Groupon and what I appreciated is that although a great deal, Brandi did not skimp on detail or service. The entrance is a little confusing- I was lucky that someone opened to let me in, but you need to know her door code #104. She did mention that that information will hopefully become a little more clear when her new website goes live. The only thing is that a couple of my lashes were the positioned the wrong way and my lid was a little sticky a couple hours later, but that could have been my fault when I opened my eyes too quick after she was finished. I started seeing Brandi when she was a traveling stylist. She was the second person I ever had do my lashes and did an amazing job. I found her on Groupon and she did my lashes a few times before I got tired of having them done and crawled back to mascara (eww). About a year or so ago I reached out to Brandi again. I saw her company in Groupon and booked a service. That was when I was told she personally doesn't accept groupons any more and I would have to see her one of her assistants. ...Umm OK. The first girl I saw (who no longer works there) was really nice but did a terrible job. They looked decent day 1 but all my lashes fell out shortly thereafter. I contacted Brandi to let her know my troubles and she asked me to come back. I thought Brandi was going to at least look at my lashes or fix them herself, but I was sent to the same girl again and the lashes all fell out again. I was done for a while. Fast for ward a little while I decide to book an appointment with Brandi herself. I showed up late due to traffic and her location changed about a mile away but I didn't know (my bad). Anyway, Brandi said she was too busy and couldn't do my lashes so I saw her new assistant (Brandi did offer to do my lashes at a later date but I had an event). After taking pictures, her assistant laid me down and just started lashing. I was waiting for the part when she asks me what I want. I thought maybe she's just going to tape first then ask me. Once I felt lashes going on me I told her (again) I want a natural look, I wish I could have seen the length/curl she was using before hand. She finished my lashes and holy smokes. They were way too long for me and not flattering for my eye shape. Imagine almond eyes with same length very long lashes all the way from inner to outer corner. Yikes. She insisted they looked great, I did not agree. Not everyone wants the same lashes. They hit my glasses. Long story short: Brandi is good, she's very friendly and sweet (idk who said she has a bad attitude that is so not true). Her prices are very affordable. Unfortunately she doesn't have the greatest assistants. Also, I was somewhat disappointed that she wouldn't see me with my Groupon after our break considering I was an old costumer of hers. I came in to pick up my girlfriend from CouturEye today and when I came to the door it was locked. It very sketchy for the employees to lock the door when a customer is in there. I had to knock 3 time before anyone opened the door. When the lady opened the door she said she doesn't allow men in the waiting room. I've been there two other times and Ive always been able to wait in the lobby. I asked the woman who opened the door why I couldn't wait in the lobby and she replied, "because this is my business". As a young professional I will advise any and everybody to stay away from Brandi. She is MONEY HUNGRY and blind sighted by the money and does NOT care about her employees ( she's been though 3 assistants & 4 Techs) or clients. After canceling and making up excuses as to why she couldn't fit me in after already withdrawing $300 from my account, I stated it's now going on 2 months since the money has been taken and service has not been provided. Brandi then said she will refund me my money or I can come and pick it up. I was in the car with my boyfriend who stated, we will go pick it up. Brandi then turns psychotic and starts screaming that she will call her husband and the police...We were very confused as why she was acting crazy as that was the option she had given me. Long story short I was able to call the police myself because I was not sure what she was capable of doing. At this point, I was escorted outside to retrieve a check of $45, which I refused to take because it was not the right amount, nor did I understand how she came up with the math. As of today, Brandi has told me to F-Off and that I've been blocked and I will not be refunded my money. I Will be pressing charges to ensure that this does not happen to anybody else. Finally!! I found the perfect place for my eyelash needs!!! I've been to other high end places in Atlanta but none of them compare to Brandi's skills!! My first appointment went so great and she went above and beyond to make them look amazing. Then on my second visit, I opted for a look that would work with me on a daily basis and Brandi got it on point with no questions asked! It's amazing how she understood what style I wanted and I can not be more in love with the way my eyelashes look!! Even if you have been going somewhere else for your lashes (as I had been doing a few months prior to my first visit with CouturEye) you will be shocked to discover what a huge difference it makes to have your lashes applied by someone who is extremely meticulous, and obsessed with detail as are the ladies at CouturEye! Four months ago, I thought I was going in for a one time application (had a special event to attend) but have since been returning weekly/biweekly to have my lashes filled- I can't live without them!
