This was an absolutely horrible experience. This was my first time at this Ulta, and it will definitely be my last. I was actually planning to go to the Verizon next door, but since it was closed, I decided to stop in for body wash. While I was browsing, my son needed to use the bathroom. We asked if we could, and Miguel said he would buzz us in. But when we got to the back, a woman was helping another customer, and she was confused. I explained, but she said we needed a key, not a buzz. When I told Miguel, he flipped on us, acting like we were stupid. His attitude was awful--especially toward a child. As a manager, he was beyond rude. They should really take his position and give it to Vanessa, who was kind and apologized. I will never return, but I had to share this awful experience. read more

This is still my go-to Ulta! The parking lot makes it so convenient, and this location even has pick up option available so you can order from the app and then be in and out quick. I love exploring the new products in person though! Recently I've been loving coming here for skincare. They have a really great selection of affordable Korean skincare that been fun to explore and incorporate in my routine. I've been loving the Tony Moly sheet masks and Anua products. The stay well stocked when it comes to makeup. The perfume section is a little lackluster since they don't have many testers available. I will definitely continue to shop here as long as I'm in the area! read more

most of the staff is so sweet & helpful, but one of the managers seriously suck. i live in this neighborhood and stop in at least once a week to shop around so i've noticed the general manager miguel has the worst attitude ever. he's always on his phone, never takes more than a second to look away from it to greet customers & speaks to his employees like they're incredibly stupid. as someone who also works in retail i totally understand needing to coach someone on their performance, but making your employees cry while at the front of the store, for everyone to see is disgusting behavior. i don't understand how no one has reported him to HR yet because if he acts this way in front of customers, i cannot imagine his behavior behind closed doors. the rest of the staff is so wonderful. so kind and helpful & always have the BEST recommendations! i hope someone will look into the general manager's behavior cause if he left this store i would shop here everyday! read more

I received a package today and I was excited to get my product. I opened the package and it was someone else's order With all of her information on the invoice. I spoke to someone the first time and I was told that it couldn't be expedited and I would have to wait another 5 to 8 business days I told her I wanted a refund. She put me on hold and when she came back she couldn't hear me and she hung up. When I called back of course I got someone else and had to explain all over again, I was upset to say the least. I had to give all of my information and then all of the other person's information as well. I was then told that they were going to send a return label and that I could take it to a UPS store. I told them I would not take it anywhere. They said that's fine don't worry about it. I told them they could pick it up and they didn't want to do that. I told them that I have not been offered any type of compensation and the person pretty much ignored what I said. So needless to say I will not shop at Ulta again, I will either order directly from the manufacturer or I will shop at Sephora. read more

I don't typically shop at Ulta, but today is my day off and I got an Ulta gift card for Christmas. I shopped for approximately 30 minutes in this store. During this time, none of the employees even looked in my direction, much less asked me if I needed help/how was I doing. Additionally, the young lady who checked me out spoke to me in a clipped and terse tone. Is this how business is supposed to be done these days? Did I miss something here? Overall, this was a subpar experience. Moving forward, I will be purchasing my beauty products elsewhere. read more

What happened to this Ulta? It's disorganized & dirty. The perfume section had no testers. No paper strips. The clearance section is worse than in TJ Maxx or Marshalls. I can't blame the employees because the company probably won't hire enough people to actually work the store. Most of the workers are also not helpful or approachable (but again, it's probably due to the stress of being overworked). But my god, is it bleak. And I really like Ulta more than Sephora. DO NOT GO to this Ulta! I spent over $200 there and the private company in charge of the parking lot fined me $170 and put a boot over the tire of my car. I calmly explained I am a customer of Ulta and showed the guard my Ulta bag and receipt, and he accused me of lying. I asked him why he thought I was lying, and he said he didn't "see me go in." I will no longer support this ulta or any of the stores in this plaza. My roommate and I purchased items at this location, and as we were leaving decided we wanted to make the 300 ft walk to pick up pizza at zaza's before heading home. We were gone for less than 15 minutes while grabbing the pizza, during which my car had been booted by a private company called innovative parking solutions for "not being a customer at the plaza." Despite showing my ulta receipt, and time of purchase, i was forced to pay $170. Keep in mind it was 7:45 and the lot was empty with no clear signage visible indicating the risk of booting. I will no longer spend my money at an establishment working alongside this completely ridiculous private company. And having 0 leeway-- charging people who park there all day without being a customer at the plaza the same fee as a regular customer at the plaza who quickly runs across the street after buying items, is completely ridiculous. I've stopped in to this location a few times, but today I had a one-on-one interaction with an employee who helped me learn how to fill in my brows properly, and I really wanted to give her a shout out! I was casually walking by this afternoon when I remembered I had an Ulta gift card, and I noticed that quite a few people were sitting in the higher-end makeup area, getting their makeup done by employees. I suddenly remembered that I needed some eyebrow filling pointers and advice, so I waited for the next available associate. I am lucky to have encountered Ashley, who reassured me that my brows didn't look bad, even though I've been feeling self-conscious about them. Ashley showed me how to brush my brows to make them look fuller, and then she went and grabbed some clear brow gel by Anastasia Beverly Hills and a no. 5 brow pencil by Benefit Cosmetics. She took time and care to make sure I understood what she was doing to make my brows look they way they did, and gave me tips on how to make them look the best for my face. I've always been nervous to ask about my brows, because I wasn't ready to hear any harsh comments about the way I've been doing them myself. Interacting with Ashley made me realize that I didn't need to be nervous at all, and that there are lots of easy ways to make my brows look the way I've always wanted them to. I had my first Ulta facial this week and IT.WAS.AMAZING! Tereza was personable, knew exactly what she was doing, asked all the right questions, made me feel relaxed, gave an amazing facial massage and then gave me tips to keep up her good work once I left. The only "down side" of the entire experience is not anything to do with her, but, that this Ulta doesn't have a private room for facials. Instead, you're hidden away behind a half wall in the corner and can hear absolutely everything. I will absolutely be going back, but, I will probably bring ear buds. I love this place!!!! Now I'm wishing I had gone to this spot years ago for support and guidance in finding make up that would work for me. I've been hesitant about beauty services ever since I was preparing for my wedding at age 45, and a makeup consultant at another shop age-shamed me, commenting on how hard it was to work with my crepey eyelids ("See what I'm working with here?" she demanded, trying to line my eyes with a liner that was too dry). Once at a salon, some guy who was not even working with my hair came up and tried to sell me botox, pondering what "that thing" between my eyebrows is. Um, it's a big wrinkle, dude (aka furrow! What??). So, I have been reluctant to go back to one of these places. But this Ulta was totally different. I went with my friend who was assigned male at birth, 55 years ago, and is now exploring femme aspects of their identity. They were extremely nervous and uncertain about asking for help, and also concerned about finding the right products for dark skin, which has been so neglected by many make up lines. Enter the Ulta consultants, who were so knowledgeable, kind, patient, encouraging, uplifting, and helpful! I honestly want to cry thinking about it. I feel so grateful to both the people who helped us (sorry I don't know their names) and even the people who rang up our purchases. I bought some fun sparkly eye makeup that I'm sure is "not appropriate for my age" that I am going to enjoy over the holidays. My friend looked so beautiful after applying a number of flattering products that had been recommended and were definitely lovely on their skin tone, and it was truly an empowering experience for both of us. I'm not exactly high femme myself and sometimes I have thought that makeup was offensive and oppressive to women. I am often barefaced and I want to be able to go makeup free without judgment for having a "natural" face with all its so-called "flaws." But, this Ulta experience really gave me a different idea about make up and its potential and the joy and creativity that can be associated with the art of makeup. Thank you Ulta staff! You're not just selling makeup, but really helping people develop their identities and sense of self, and helping create more confidence, too. Rebecca is probably some kind of hair wizard. I'd gone to a bunch of other salons (many of them more expensive than Ulta) to try and get my hair right, and though they all did okay, Rebecca absolutely obliterates them. She brought out my natural curls, gave me the best practical advice I'd ever gotten on dealing with dandruff, and intuitively knew and understood what I wanted to do with my hair even though I'm always pretty bad at communicating that with my stylists. The property owner of this plaza has shake down parking company (innovative parking) that waits to boot your car and then charge you $170 to have the boot removed. I visited a store in this plaza and was booted. When I even agreed to pay - they still wouldn't remove the boot. Literally had to call the chicago police to come and make these guys remove the boot after nearly 1 hour. Make this place owner and property manager know that they are harming customers and the parking company they hired is literally holding people hostage. read more

It is mortifying! She basically attacks you and everyone around you is then staring at you. She then proceeds to try and get you to come over to Skyn Iceland brand that she is promoting and obviously gets commission on it. I fell for it once and bought the products.. not worth it. Literally AMAZING. Rebecca was truly a blessing. I have had long hair for so long I mean years!!! I'd been contemplating a fun short cut for so long. I wanted the new katy perry cut but didnt know how short I should go. Rebecca gave me a wonderful consultation. She really understood my hair and listened to what my problems had been with previous hair cuts. She asked me something that no other stylist had asked before with a picture. She said "what exactly do u like so much about this hair (in the pic)." I feel like once she had me thinking about that our convo became better directed and we were really on the same page. She gave me her feedback and showed me what I could do to get the cut I wanted but keep my hair low maintenance. Im a person who just showers and air dries and my hair will have nice waves so of course I didnt want some short choppy cut that would make me need to straighten it every morning. I could not be happier I really could not. I love my hair. I was so nervous about cutting so much off and Im so happy with it. I really got lucky. Rebecca treated each part of my hair piece by piece. I have a lot of hair and its very thick. Hair stylists usually just cut off length and then go in and texture it. Then the back feels so heavy and the front all light. She literally cut the back of my hair a piece at a time. No wonder I was never able to get this look in the past. Past stylist never took their time or this much care when doing my hair. This was my first time going into this Ulta and I literally will never go to anyone else as long as she is in Chicago. I love my hair so much. She didnt just give me this Katy Perry cut I showed her on my phone. Rebecca gave me cute hair that works on me, that I can manage easily and that's fun. I want to really like this location bc it's within walking distance. I just wish it was cleaner and better stocked. I can imagine what a pain it is to have to keep everything clean and organized. But as a shopper it makes it very frustrating when a ton of things are disheveled and the testers are so so crusted over with dried liquid & smell super stale, especially the skincare. The last time, I found a couple empty product boxes on the shelves when someone was trying to help me find a shade through the mess.. when I told her, she said "yea people do that sometimes" & left them there which was odd. Bc I've bought an empty brow pencil box here before so hopefully they were eventually removed by someone else. The cashiers are usually friendly but I've never had a "nice" interaction w anyone on the sales floor that I can remember. Someone else mentioned the Iceland skin care lady lol. I've encountered her as well and she wanted nothing to do w me when I didn't show interest in her product. Not a pleasant person that should be in customer service. She also took a dig at me for getting my Ordinary skincare lol. Said it was cheap and to go ahead if I wanted low quality lol. She was mad bc I wouldn't get the $60 oil of the same thing that she wanted me to. No thanks unless you're paying lol. This place is great, sort of a downmarket Sephora. I was searching for a shampoo that a hair stylist friend gave me a sample of that made my hair look utterly gorgeous and sleek. And I found it here - Joico K-Pak Color Therapy. Though I don't color my hair, this stuff is great. And my hair looks like a million bucks., shiny and sleek. They have LOTS of 2 for 1 promotions, gift with purchase and other specials. And their prices are great. I also got Revlon Colorstay Tinted Brow Wax and Highlighter, which is now one of my "desert island" makeup items. Perfectly groomed brows are essential, sweetiedarling. They have so many fragrances that I wore out my nose. Will have to come back another day to peruse those. There are a lot of brands here for makeup, skincare, fragrance and hair care and they seem to have upgraded their selections a bit since the last time I was here. The staff ranged from unobtrusive to overly enthusiastic. So, whatever, I prefer solitary browsing anyway. Check the website for money-off coupons. This review is a LONG TIME COMING... but after reading so many other negative reviews I've come to realize that my last (highly negative) experience at this Ulta was not my fault... so here goes... I purchased Too Faced's Unicorn Tears lip gloss for my niece at Ulta during the Holiday season. I had enough cash on me to pay for it, and knew it was what she wanted, so I wasn't as good about hanging onto the receipt as I normally would have been. Unfortunately, a few weeks later I saw that Too Faced had come out with a "Unicorn Survival Kit," with a little version of the gloss, but also the matching lipstick & highlighter, all in a cute little bag. I searched everywhere but couldn't find the receipt, but considering the product was unused and in the box, I figured they would certainly exchange it for me (the kit was even a little more expensive so they would have made money). NOPE!!! The cashier was rude, and said because I didn't have their card to look up my purchase, and lost my receipt, they'd have to "look up" how much "value" my product had... I stood there a while while they "looked it up." They then told me my item was worth $0 towards my exchange. They refused to accommodate me IN ANY WAY. Needless to say, I'd rather shop at Sephora, where the return policy is sooooo awesome, people aren't rude to me, and I'm not treated like crap by a company I'm helping to make money. Okay so I wrote that last review fast and sloppy but what had happen was in the makeup department i went up to the lady with the pink hair to see if they carried a product, she was putting on make up when I said "excuse me but do you happen to have..." cuts me off and her response was "I'm not working". So now I'm confused cause she looked like she work there so I tell her "oh my bad I thought you worked here cause well you have a name tag and make up stuff around your waist so ... " she says "well I do work here but I'm on break" at this point I walk away cause this lady clearly is bothered, but no biggie cause I was heading to the cashier anyway to see maybe they can tell me but before I knew it the pink hair lady is shouting across the store for someone to help me, conclusion made my way out the door, had not been back their since. read more

This is my neighborhood (and favorite) Ulta, but I've never been to the salon before today- needed a trim haircut, nothing too special. I seriously cannot say better things about Brent! Not only was he personable, pleasant and listened to exactly what I wanted for the cut- he has the most attention to detail and really puts in the time/care. I'm excited to hopefully do color again with him my next appointment and would definitely recommend this Ulta salon (I'm sure all of the stylists are great, but Brent especially!). read more

This is a great spot! I came by to return some products that did not work for me and there was a very sweet representative who recommended some new products to me and took the time to color match me, etc. Now, unfortunately, the products that were recommended to me did not work for me (random side note- if you have combination skin, the First Aid Beauty Tinted Moisturizer may look like an oil slick on you) (other side note- I do not understand the hype of the Better than Sex mascara, it clumps and flakes all over and leaves you with black specks around your eyes). But his service was much appreciated! The woman at the register was super friendly and made the transaction really easy, and also gave me a complimentary sample that came with one of my purchases. Overall, great little spot in an awesome location for me. I will definitely be back! read more

This ULTA Beauty location is one that i just started frequenting, but let me tell you, they have some of the nicest, friendliest staff! Everyone is super helpful in finding any products I needed to fond and super helpful in explaining different tips and tricks about some of the products I picked up. I feel like i would prefer shopping at this location more than others just because the people helping are so nice and friendly that it just makes me want to shop more and stay at ULTA even longer! Great layout of products, everything I wanted was there and in stock, they have a small parking lot outside, and when the line at the register gets long, someone else almost immediately comes to help. Ulta is a knot off and so is there shabby customer service.I purchased one of those roll-on perfumes ($12.99) and when I went to exchange it because the roller does not release the perfume the sales person calls the "manager" who repeated what the cashier said. "There system does not show the purchase." I'd purchased the item over 6 months ago and did not have my receipt. Sooo I could not get another one or a store credit. The store is convenient but does not represent like the better stores like SEPHORA or TARGET . I am more of a Sephora person, but this Ulta is a hop, skip and step away from my apartment. It's definitely convenient if I need a product ASAP but I really am meh about Ulta these days. I went this weekend for an eyeliner and a mascara that needed replacing. It was hot out and the store randomly wreaked of BO. Workers were avail on the floor but seemed to be a bit more chatty with each other instead of going out of their way to ask if customers needed assistance. read more

Great selection of all things beauty related. Think upmarket Sally's. Think downmarket Sephora. Their big thing is having over 20 different nail polish brands and over 50 different hair shampoo lines. There's also a little salon in the back, as well as a face application area where you can try different cosmetics and wash them off. For us guys, there's a men's colognes section with typical department store quality brands. If you have a beard, they sell a lot of clippers and grooming supplies. This store is in a great location with loads of free parking. Some extras in the same shopping strip: a decent Subway, a UPS store and a full service Kinkos. read more

I was here the other day with my boyfriend. It's a bit difficult to discern which one are the employees because I couldn't find a name tag on the particular associate. They have a wide variety of items, which is typical of Ulta. However, I think it's a bit deceiving to showcase a coupon in front of the customer at the counter and not think that they can just it. read more

Not only does Ulta have the best deals and rewards program, but the staff is amazing! Ashley from Mississippi helped me find the perfect foundation for my skin and happily did a full face of makeup on me - fell in love with all the products, ended up buying almost all of them.
