I came in to get my hair done for a wedding, not mine thankfully. I provided a picture to Ashley of a simple chignon. She said that it wouldn't look exactly the same and I said that was fine and just asked that my hair not be slicked back from my face as I have a round face and that makes my face look fat. She began to collect styling items but seemed confused and frazzled. The very first thing that she did was wet my hair down and put an obscene amount of moose on top of my head. I asked if it was going to be too slicked back and she said no. I figured she was the professional so I shut up. She pulled my hair into a low ponytail, braided one section and put my hair in a bun. My hair was slicked off of my face and so crunchy that you could see the comb marks. I looked like Trunchbull from Matilda. I wasn't wanting a complicated updo. If she is uncomfortable with updos, that is fine but she shouldn't take appointments for them. In the end, I looked hideous and paid $80+ for something I could have done at home in five minutes. read more

I was extremely disappointed because I purchased a perfume which was labeled under it get a free gift. Not only do we spend a ton of money to shop here everybody. But to be told that the thing listed underneath it is old and there is no free gift. That's not my job as a customer. It doesn't say dates on it. Nothing. I am thrilled with her work and would highly recommend her! However, ZERO stars for the bait and switch tactics of the mgr. Be extremely careful if a front end rep/ mgr. mentions signing up for credit to get discounts off your current purchase/ service and earning extra points, it's a bait and switch! That didn't actually happen the first time. They tell you as soon as they do it- said oops you can't use it now. This store is ran very poorly and the staff is incompetent! Twice in two weeks they have wasted my time. Last week I wanted to buy my wife a new Dyson item. I went in and they were out of stock. I asked them to check if other stores had them locally. They said the Citrus Park location had a few. I asked that they call there to confirm before I drive 30min away. They acted like that was "moving a mountain", even though they had plenty of staff and they weren't busy at all. They basically told me no and that I would be fine. I drove to Citrus Park and upon arrival I was told they haven't had any in days. Then today I go in to get my wife some Living Proof items. I wanted to use a 20% off coupon. I grabbed one item and took it up to the manager. I told her that even though the coupon didn't list this brand as an exclusion that I wanted to make sure before I picked out a lot of stuff. She said, "I don't know", but if the coupon didn't work she would override it so I got the discount. I picked out a bunch of items totaling $200, the manager rang me up and then upon scanning the coupon she said it wouldn't work. She no longer honored her original offer from 10 minutes prior. I just left the items at the counter and decided to pass on it all. I will never go back to Ulta again. There are many other places to buy items like this where they will appreciate my time and business. read more

me & my sister went in yesterday just to look around since i havent been there for a while but she ended up picking up a few things for herself & was just giving me tips on makeup. the same people kept asking us if we needed help & i do understand it's part of their job but after like the 5th time it started getting a bit irritating. just let us brows around . then i realized that some worker kept following us around?? like.. i only noticed because she kept smiling at us in every other isle we were in until i told my sister to follow me all the way to the back & second later she was there. We're platinum members, we have no business stealing if that's what they thought we were doing, but will for sure take my business somewhere else next time. Recently, I came to Ulta to do a return. I gave the cashier my item and receipt & informed her that I paid for the item partially on a Visa giftcard. I asked if it could be refunded in cash because I no longer had the visa giftcard. The cashier said she could refund the entire amount to the debit card that I also used on the original purchase. She told me to insert my card and when I did, it only refunded the amount I paid with the debit card originally. The remainder of the refund was somehow issued back to the visa giftcard that I no longer have. The cashier got the manager involved, and the manager literally told me "there's nothing she can do to help". I told her that I advised the cashier not to refund back to the giftcard and she somehow did it anyway, and that I'd need my money back as this was their mistake. The manager, Shalene, said they can't do cash back for visa giftcards and could've refunded to store credit. I let her know that if that option had been presented to me I would have accepted that, but it wasn't. Her cashier explicitly said it'd go back to my debit card. After much back and forth, she claimed the Corporate Office would be calling me by the end of the week to set up a refund via check or store credit. It's been 13 days and no one's called. So I still don't have a refund, I'm out the money they improperly refunded and I'm never returning to any Ulta, especially this one. read more

I went into Ulta (Clearwater) sometime last year for a nail polish, had no idea there was a salon. After scheduling an appointment with any of the ladies available as soon as possible for root touch up, I was set up with Elizabeth M. A year later and I cannot be more content with this lovely lady, she's a pro at what she does! After talking (for months)about going lighter from my pitch black hair, patiently she spent hours foiling my very thick hair. I was hesitant but "jumped" in and trusted her expertise. I went to Ulta knowing I was going to drop a pretty penny on some makeup. I needed a new shadow palette and contour palette. Number 1, apparently the ULTA in CLEARWATER FL needs a new stock team/manager whatever. Everything I tried to look at and liked was out of stock. That was AT LEAST 3 different shadow palettes and 2 different contour palettes. Then the store associate directed me to a MORPHE palette. Iv heard of this brand but I don't know much about it besides Jefferee Star talks about it on his little channel. So I said ok the colors in this palette are nice and wow it's so cheap I wonder why? But thinking oh it's Ulta they have good products even if it's on the side cheap side of the store. I take it home not thinking to even look at the ingredients or where it's made. Today I flipped it over and I found out it's made in CHINA. NO WONDER why it's so cheap. These products everyone rave about, contain some not so nice ingredients in them that can harm you down the road. Not to mention it's not cruelty free. Especially coming from China. Hey Ulta get it together and train your staff better. When someone comes in looking to spend at least $100-$150 on new product and the store associate points me to the $12 product, talking about how great this brand is. No thanks. read more

The staff is wonderful. They helped me find suitable substitutes for a discontinued product which was a challenge. Everyone did it with a smile. the team is honest and cheerful. I was not aware until late at night that I had lost a very special bracelet while I was in the store. The next day, I stopped in and the manager was keeping it safe for me. I've been seeing Elizabeth at the Ulta salon in Clearwater for just over a year now and could not be happier with my hair. I used to color my own hair because I have a lot of natural red and felt like I could never afford ably maintain anything that wasn't red. I was so wrong. After my latest attempt (and failure) and a big trip ahead of me, I broke down and went to Ulta with my tail between my legs. She did was so understanding and kind and actually taught me some of the science behind color mixing and just how difficult it can be when you're not trained. I admitted defeat and the outcome is this GORGEOUS look I've been wearing for the last year. My hair has grown so much faster, too, thanks to keeping it healthy and not over processing it with box dye. Do yourself a big favor, STOP using $12 box dye and go let this amazing soul work her magic on you! You will not regret it. An added benefit is getting basically FREE makeup when you level up in your Ulta reward points. Salon services count towards that! read more

Everything was ok until I tried to check out and the cashier with the pink hair was really slow. The customers before me had a lot of questions and the cashier kept talking to them knowing that I was waiting for about 10 minutes to just check out with my 2 item. Then she asked me for my email and phone number which I thought was unnecessary and asked to "skip it please" to which I received an attitude from. After paying I said "thank you" and got no answer back. Very rude and I will not be returning. Good luck with a store where the CASHIERS are rude to people who don't want to chit chat and spend their whole day there. Completely ridiculous. Today I went there around 3:30 pm on 10/18/20. I went here on a Saturday and it was sort of busy. I was looking for makeup brushes. On the right side is a brush display but all the brushes are mixed up and I couldn't find what I wanted. One of the makeup girls asked if she could help & I mentioned the mess. She just said "that's what you get with self serve." I grabbed a $50 brush kit that I thought I might like and walked around looking at the rest of the store. On the left side of the store is the "cheaper" makeup and the have more brushes and makeup supplies. I ended up buying a bunch of EcoTool brushes (I had read good review for these) for about $35 and I was able to choose the ones I wanted. They also had a huge amount of NYX makeup. A less expensive brand that a lot of YouTube tutorial makeup artists use. I ended up buying some brightly pigmented powders and some fun liquid liners. read more

Oh what a fun shop it was. First time I shopped at this Ulta. It was spacious, clean, well-lit with ample parking. The selection of cosmetic and skin care items was enormous and varied, and well- priced. The staff were extremely helpful, fun and friendly. At check out I signed up for their loyalty program and received a sample mascara . They also have dermalogica products. Once I got facial done. I really liked it. I also got my hair done once for an event. They did a great job. My hairstylist is really good lady. Customer service is good. They have different brands like urban decay, nyx, naked etc. I love shopping there. I went to Jessica at Ulta Beauty in the Clearwater Mall. After a not great at all cut (grew out uneven) somewhere else. She saw the picture of what I wanted (touch up the layers, and fix my bangs). She discussed with me what was going to work and what wouldn't. She asked before putting product in my hair. All of these little things made a difference with me. I felt like it was a true consultation, and on Election Day it was slow, but she didn't rush at all.
