It was my first time trying out the salon at Ulta and I wasn't sure what to expect. I was able to get an appointment easily the day before on the Ulta App. I came prepared with pictures and was eager for a new look after a year of solid colored straight hair. I came to my appointment today at 11am and was met with my stylist, Karen. She ended up being extremely helpful, honest, talented, and kind. After a relaxing process and great conversation, I got to see the end result and I FELL IN LOVE!!!! Karen did exactly what I imagined and more l!! I can honestly say this is the first time I've left a salon and was satisfied completely with the work. Rating the Ulta Salon a 5-Star at this location!! So hair as we know is super touchy, sensitive subject when finding a good place. I'm not picky but to be fair I don't want to have an ugly do either. My friend has cut my hair for years as she is a hair stylist for Aveda salons but out of state. So after I moved I needed to find a good place. I figured I would try out the Ulta salon since it's nearby and they get training as well. Again, would've gone to an Aveda, but felt what do I have to lose. OMG Rosy is amazing!!! Everyone needs to go and see her. Again Rosy at this location. Showed her a picture of the hair color I wanted (Sarah Hyland all over highlights hair) She nailed it and more. I went in with an appointment, i have been to other Ulta salons and I will pause to say I have not ever had a bad experience and it was good enough to go back, now this experience this stylist this was topnotch & worth sharing! Cecilia O., whom i never met before today, was amazing. She took the time to hear what i wanted, look at some pics AND talk through the process. She explained how I wouldn't walk out w/ the cut I want today but in time we would get my hair there. She never bashed anyone else but focused on the mess before her & explained what she would do to achieve what i was looking for. I highly recommend looking into an appt w/her. She is booked out quite a bit, I was blessed w/an immediate appointment but you bet I didn't push it and booked my 2nd appt!! Listen folks price matters & I would love to afford over the top salons w/ridiculous pricing, now I don't have to-this was not an upscale-low-budget salon (you know where your husband might go ) this was the total salon experience! read more

So lost my id and can only use cash and my points . So i gotta go to ulta. Anyways they wouldn't let me use any of my points without an id so i explain everything and she don't care. Fine whatever I'll leave bc I've been to this location with out id and used my points since I've lost my id. Never had a problem before. If she sees my account is super old and i have more than enough points. But nope don't get to use them. When I saw that Ulta was opening in Casa Linda I was so excited to have the Benefit Brow Bar in the neighborhood. I went in yesterday for a Tint and Wax and was able to be helped by Dymond right away. She was so great. She was knowledgeable, friendly and funny. She asked if she could update my Brow shape to better fit my face and I was so impressed with the results. I told her on the way out that she definitely my new Brow gal. Got everything I needed because I already knew what I was going for but once I approached the register the manager an employee and the security stood in front of the door looking at me while I was paying, they were behind me so I could see the reflection from the window and it gave me anxiety I could t even concentrate on giving the girl the right amount of money because I couldn't believe what was happening. I decided to book a simple brow wax & tint with Alyssa at the benefit brow for 4:20pm. I went in around 3:45pm to see if she could take me at 4pm (never hurts to ask)...she is rude and barely responds back and stated no she will need till assigned time. I decided to wait inside and sit while my appt time came, once my time cam I went back to her area just to find out she was running over with a walk-in she said "I'll be with you in a minute". Why did I even schedule an appointment if she isn't going to abide by it, especially for 1st time customers. She then proceeds to take over 15mins and is still outlining the walk ins brows before wax. I go to main register & cash out for ulta purchases and tell the associate the coworker proceeds to call manager which I didn't ask and the high school manager laughs entire time I tell her situation and proceeds to tell me Aly/ Alyssa is ready for you after 35mins past my appt. RIDICULOUS . Don't book with Alyssa unless you don't care about time commitments. read more

I made an appointment ahead of time to get a simple haircut. When I called to make the appointment I asked the salesperson on the phone when the best time for me to come in would be. It was around noon when I called and they said 3:45 would be perfect. I get there right at 3:45 and go straight back to the salon area of the store. I was greeted by a hairdresser and told her about my appointment. She called another hairdresser to come up to the front and the two of them discussed the Schedule book and tried to figure out who my hairdresser was supposed to be. The second one who walked up was scheduled to do my hair but apparently had accidentally taken another customer booked with someone else. She then walks around the counter to me and quietly said she was sorry but someone the schedule got mixed up and she was need 20 mins, 30 at the most to finish up with her current customer. A little irritated I said ok, knowing how that can happened from time to time and no one is perfect. So I told her that was fine and made my way over to the brow bar. I was helped out by a super friendly employee who directed me to the exact items I came to stock up on while I was waiting for my hair cut. She even let me try a couple items I wasn't familiar with. I spent about 25 mins at the brow bar, walked around the store trying perfume and seeing what else I might want to purchase for another 10-15 mins. I then went to the front to pay for my items then headed back to the salon seeing as how I had allowed 35-40 mins for them to be ready for me. When I get back there she is just starting to blow dry the clients hair and by this point I was sick of waiting seeing as how I had made an appointment ahead of time! I stood there for a few mins and was never even acknowledged so I thought screw this, I'll find somewhere else. By this time it was almost 5 so it was a struggle to find someone with immediate availability but thankfully I found someone at the village salons down the road. I had a MUCH better experience there. I don't know what the deal is with Ulta but I had a bad experience at a different location with the salon a few years back but I decided to give them another try... two strikes is enough for me to be settled in my opinion at this point. Was not even intending on going to Ulta, but driving past not realizing we had an Ulta in Casa Linda I decided I would stop. I go in looking for an "at home chemical peel" and something for under eye wrinkles. "Mercedes" decided to help me with "Pur" skin care. She said to me "oh my god your eyes look terrible and I have had 80 year old women whose eyes look better". Um-K. Maybe, I'm just being sensitive. I have stress and some allergies. So, OK. I decide to spend about 160 bucks on "Pur" serum and eye cream and then at the counter it's a complete clusterfuck. They cannot input my contact information or credit card information correctly, so they decide to "free ship" my shit. FINALLY, after about six to eight minutes later i said forget, i will buy online. That's when I decided to go to Park Lane where I bought (yes, like a dumbass, $160 worth of different products). I'm not much of a negative reviewer, but, to be honest, I have been in tears since I left there. I acknowledged to her that I knew I looked like shit, because I had not put on makeup today. I KNEW that I had puffy eyes from having allergies and my god I AM 57 years old, bitch. I called Ulta....they gave me a $15 gift certificate. Pfffffftttt! This is ageism at it's fucking best. I recently relocated back to Dallas. I had a hairdresser I used in Austin for 8 years. I searched for a salon who used Redken products to make the transition easy. I found Artistik and Ulta, who were both recommended on the Redken website. I met with both salons. I did a consultation with Norma, the manager, who was simply amazing. Blonde color can be challenging. She listened closely to my needs. I do maintenance every 4 weeks so it was important to find someone that I really like and can partner with on my hair. She reviewed my existing formula for highlights, lowlights and color, and provided a confidence that she could do my color. She was very meticulous, kind, knowledgeable and empathetic to the challenge of changing salons. I was super impressed. She is a great leader and manager. My color turned out perfect. I love it. She was a delight and made my experience at Ulta, a very positive one. I am a very picky client with high expectations. She delivered and I would highly recommend her for color. Thank you Norma! I wanted a blowout for New Year's Eve and my usual spot was all booked up, so I thought I would try Ulta since I shop there all the time and had seen all the advertisements for their new blowout menu. Wish I hadn't, It was terrible. She dried my hair in the chair before even trying to blow it out with a blow dryer, kept stopping to flat iron bits, and literally just held a blow dryer above my hair, not using a round brush or anything. I thought at first it was just a different way of doing a blow out than I was used to, but in retrospect she just didn't know what she was doing. I asked for a sleek look, which I know is hard because my hair is so coarse, but also I know can be accomplished with my hair type because I've had it done multiple times by other salons where it looked beautiful, yet at the end of my visit my hair was super sticky, stuck together, standing up everywhere, and just overall yucky as heck. It literally looked worse than when I walked in to the salon. To her credit the stylist said she wasn't going to charge me which was super sweet, but at the same time it was New Year's Eve so I had hoped for a good look to go out at that night, but instead I had a head of stuck together gross matted hair. Ended up going home, washing my hair to get the sticky feel out, and then just blow drying it myself before dinner. Looked waaay better when I did it at home than at the salon, but not as good as If I had had a professional blowout, and was super disappointed that Ulta messed it up much. Can not believe that Ulta charges the same amount as drybar for a result that was 100 times worse. My stylist was so kind and I don't think it was her fault, just think she wasn't trained properly on how to do a blowout. The blowout menu is still new at Ulta and I would 100% say DO NOT TRY THEM until they've been doing it for a while and actually know what they're doing. I literally left crying because I had been hoping to treat myself for new years but Instead looked like a mess and wasted two hours of my day having my hair messed up. read more

Purchase some eye crayons at the suggestion of an employee. Was told I could always bring it back if it didn't work. Checked out and was asked about their program - I declined because I don't need more emails. The product irritates my eyes and so I took the other unopened product to the store to simply exchange for the same product, but perhaps a shade that didn't have the glitter in it. I had an employee suggest other shades and she told me to switch them out. I didn't have a receipt but I wasn't asking for money or a credit - just to switch out the colors. I selected some other product and went to check out. The girl at the front desk looked at me like I had 3 heads when I told her I simply wanted to switch out the color. It was as if she only knew process A, B or C - had no ability to think outside the box. Called over a manager who told me that unless I had a receipt or was on their frequent buyer program that there was nothing they could do. Seemed so strange. I went to the car and looked up there return policy. I requested the store manager or area manager contact me and no follow-up. I'll buy from Amazon instead. read more
