Admittedly this isn't my go to beauty supply shop, but this is my back up because 6 times out of 10 I can find what I'm looking for. Things they have: clips, bows, scarves, natural hair oils and mousse, wigs, brushes and combs. Things they don't have: variety of permanent color and creme powder, weave, lashes, variety of relaxers, certain irons. Terrible experience. I came in excited to purchase some clip in hair extensions, and needed a little help with the color options. The woman assisting ordered me around, offered little help, and acted like she didn't even want me to be there. I thought with some kind words she would soften, but the experience became worse. She criticized all aspects of my current hair color for a solid 2 minutes while I listened. When I reallized the experience was not going to improve, I kindly asked if I could take a photo of the color that seemed to match best so I could think about it and come back. Even that request she resisted. I've never gone into a store excited to make a purchase then minutes later want to leave as much as I did then. I wouldn't recommend going to this location for any hair needs. They sell your typical beauty supply items that you can't get just get at Sally's but the customer service is terrible. Honestly, they take advantage of being the only beauty supply in this area and are rude to customers on top of being more pricey than typical beauty supply stores. Every time I've come I've felt rushed and was treated poorly. They don't like to help customers and quite frankly their rude. If you go in toward the end of their day they don't want to deal with you and they rush you to get out. They often close early. I got all my fixings for my halloween costume here. It was a nice little store, run by really friendly people. My friend and I tried a few wigs on to complete our Scooby Doo Gang costumes. Tried this place recently to find a fun wig for a girls night out. They had a pretty good selection of your crazy, colorful wigs that you probably would only wear out once. Unfortunately, the sub-par customer service left a bad taste in my mouth and seemed to trump the actual wig selection. The woman who fits you for the wigs seemed irritated by the notion that you'd actually want to try on several wigs before making a purchase. Who knows, maybe it was too close to closing time but... She made my friend and I feel super uncomfortable and when we asked for her opinion on what color/style would be good for us, she responded with "I don't know, you're different, too picky." Really? We had tried on 2 wigs at this point in time. There were several other comments thrown in there, and perhaps she wasn't intentionally trying to be rude, but she definitely came across that way. All in all, if you need to find a wig, theres a good chance this place may have what you're looking for...hopefully you know what you want right off the bat b/c otherwise you may get some unnecessary attitude from the person you're trying to give business to. This is the only beauty supply store that I've found in Oak Lawn that carries black hair supplies. Maybe it is for that reason that they extremely overcharge for basic products. Regular kankelon braiding hair is about $4 per pack and Marley hair is $6-9. I finally broke down and bought Marley hair because I wanted to install crochet braids even though I felt the price was outrageous. This hair is sooo stiff and not at all soft. I even soaked it in boiling water to loosen it up. I bought the braiding hair a while back and it wasn't that great either. For $4 you're not even getting the jumbo packs of hair and it was hard to burn the ends. The staff is friendly and they do have a wide range of products but I plan to find another place to buy my extensions ASAP. read more

I LOVE this place!! I wish it was closer to my house, I would go there more often! They have great wigs, every shape and style you can imagine! And most of them are in the $25-$35 range, and they don't look like cheap halloween wigs either. I have fooled people to thinking it was my real hair! But also they have fake eyelashes, most are 99 cents, or in that range, which is way better than the $2.99 - $5.99 ones from CVS or Walgreens. Now the store has a LOT of other stuff as well, as most wig shops do. They have hair extensions, makeup, very pretty costume jewelry, hair dye, hair accessories, and random other things as well. If there is something you need in the beauty related field, it's probably there. But FOR SURE any time I need a wig I go there. Some other people on here I noticed said the customer service isn't great or whatever, that is just the way they are. They don't mean to be like that, it's not because they don't like you, I think it's just a cultural thing. Who cares what she says to you, the wigs are affordable and cute! Deal with it! If they were charging $400 a wig, then yeah you could complain about the service, but seriously I've never had an issue with them at all. They are always nice and say hi to me when I go in there. So don't waste $20 on a cheap polyester wig from the Halloween store, instead, go to the Lemmon Wig Shop, I still have all my wigs from there. They are still in great shape. It's unfortunate that this past time I was in the store with... yes, a KAREN. Many small businesses are struggling during this pandemic and as I was in the back looking at wigs, I overheard the KAREN complaining about wearing a mask because her "makeup cost $200" for her engagement photos that will be taken later this evening.. Well, NEWSFLASH... wearing a mask is mandated ALL over the state of Texas, and if you're in someone else's store in general, you comply with THEIR rules. If you have a problem, then yeah, you should leave.. They let you know very kindly to wear a mask and for anyone to throw that kind of temper tantrum and threaten negative reviews is not only childish, but ignorant. It really is just astonishing to me, since the young ladies working are not only following the mandate, but also store policies. This place would get zero stars if I could give it to them . They tried to sell me clip in clips that where not in a new bag:box (and sanitary). Of course these clip were used which is why they were opened and even had thread in them and hairs in them, Some even had dandruff on them and I pointed out the thread, hairs, and dandruff to the owner a Korean lady who could give zero fucks about a black womans concerns (who might I remind you us black keep them in business).
