I absolutely have to give five full stars to this store to recognize exceptional service when it's been delivered! I must say I haven't been in an Ulta store in well over five years because I do all my shopping online and there isn't a store where I live anyway. I came in here this weekend while I was in town for business to replace an item that I bought online that arrived damaged. The employee was so friendly at the counter and helped me pick a replacement product when the color I originally wanted was out of stock. I was able to exchange it easily and then did all of my shopping, and had another pleasant encounter at check out on my way out with another employee. Two for two! The store was out of stock of many things but in their defense it was on a weekend a 20% off your purchase coupon was being offered so I wasn't surprised at all. It was clean and overall very well organized, and I would certainly come back based on this experience alone. I ended up returning later that night to get one more item I forgot to pick up on my earlier trip. It was a different shift and all the employees were different, but I still received five star service! I was greeted when I walked in, which is always appreciated. I checked out with the woman who happened to be the manager, and she was also so friendly! What made her even more of a rockstar: I paid in cash and was trying to come up with exact change, and I was short two cents. She told me not to worry about it and sold me the item anyway without making me break one of my other bills. (This was on top of using a coupon, too!) I don't think I've ever had such a great experience at any business I've ever assumed was just another stone-cold corporate company. This proved to me customer service matters more here than a couple of cents, and that is such a rarity these days! This store always frustrates me. The girls that work there are far more interested in socializing with each other than helping customers. Went in to purchase something from one of their 'premier' brands and was never acknowledged, and when I asked if someone could please help me, I got a look like I was interrupting them. The girl that did come over to help me flippantly pointed me in the right direction and then walked away when I was in the middle of a question. You would get more help shopping online read more

If you want a store to rip you off, go to Ulta. My sister bought me an expensive compact in the wrong shade for Christmas. Since she's out of state, I didn't have a receipt and they wouldn't allow a trade. Offered me lowest price it was on sale for: 27 cents. It's a $35 compact. We all know you've never sold a $35 compact for twenty seven cents. Shame on you, I just needed to swap the shade. Don't buy anything here because if they can't track your every move with a rewards card, you're screwed. read more

I left feeling like the lady that was supposed to do my hair was racist. The way she looked at me when I showed her a picture of what I wanted and told me how much it would be made me feel like she thought I couldn't afford it. She didn't offer to do anything for me even though I had an appointment and gave me a card for someone else to do my hair. The story is so much longer than this but her name was Alice and I did not feel the love at all. I left within 5 minutes of my appointment. Not satisfied at all. Actually ruined my whole day. This store is a joke. I went there on a break from visiting my father in the hospital in December. I took a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like-I was donating what I was having cut off. The girl I got stuck with, acted like I bothered her and she didn't want to be there, she ignored my picture, had no clue how to cut hair for a donation and had to ask. When she finally got done cutting all my hair off, WAY shorter than I ever do, she washed it and took 2 seconds to dry it. She walked away, gave me my invoice and walk into the back. The only person who cared was the girl at checkout-she felt so bad for me and couldn't believe what a horrible job was done to me. After 3 trips back to talk to the manager, she cut more off and that was that as far as they were concerned. I even wrote the main office of the company-and they basically told me SOL! NEVER NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE!! They charge too much for the worst service in the world. And when they say they will take care of it to make the customer happy-LIARS, they only care about your money NOT the customer. What a joke!! read more
