Love the selection of products. However, I was approached at least 6 times from salespeople. It was extremely uncomfortable! Are they on commission or have to sell a certain amount to be so aggressive? I heard another lady tell one sales person to stop approaching her also. It is a fun store to explore all the products, but please tone down the force of the multiple sales people attacking you. read more

I received the WORST haircut of my life. It is so bad that my kind and gentle husband actually was aghast when I came home, then he started laughing then he said come here and wrapped his arms around me to console me. I now look like a man who got a crappy haircut. NEVER EVER trust your hair to the hack stylist there. She gave me bangs that are heavy, uneven and make me look like Moe from the Three Stooges. I paid over $125 for a cut that looks like a beauty school student first cut ever, Stay Away! Go to a dog groomer, you'll get a more flattering cut there. read more

I do love visiting this location each year I come for vacation and this year I brought my mother. She loved it and the staff were so friendly and very knowledgeable which is always wonderful to find. Is a large store, plenty of free parking, very clean and fully stocked. Did you know they color/tint your brows? I was not aware, so my mom wanted it done. But, she barely has any so the ladies did work their magic and recommended some products to act like brows and let me tell you it looked great. Sorry, no pics as my phone had died by then. This review is for the Benefit eyebrow salon, not the store itself. This photo was taken 2 months ago and (surprise!) my brows have not recovered. Too much hair taken in random places that needed to grow out, and many hairs left behind in places that needed grooming. I hope these areas grow out again in time. While in Hyannis we visited this Ulta location to pick up some hair products as well as a gift certificate for a friend's birthday. The store itself was well stocked, organized as well as clean. The staff here was polite but the store seemed to be understaffed. The woman at the cash register was the only person we saw which was a bit frustrating because we had some questions on products. That being said, we enjoyed the store but just wish there were more staff members available to answer questions. read more

Skip this place and go to Sephora. Dirty store and no one to help you. I finally tracked down an associate today and she was incredibly rude and sarcastic. Are they not there to assist with the products and answer questions? Apparently not. More like a social hour between coworkers and customers are left to help themselves. If I could give 0 stars I would. Got a coupon sent to me for a discount on my first salon service, so I figured I'd give them a try the night before I traveled to Montreal for a concert. Grew my nails out for weeks with the intention of having wonderful nails for this event and ended up having to go to ANOTHER salon and spend MORE money to get the gel soaked off and my damaged nails clipped down and filed. The following is the exact incident report/service inquiry I sent to Ulta: "Today I had an appointment at the Hyannis, MA location to get my nails done. Luke was who served me. I decided on a French tip for an event that I have coming up. I am extremely disappointed in the results and will not be returning to the salon again for a nail appointment or anything else and will definitely be telling friends and family about my visit and encourage them not to visit again. Luke hacked at my nails while filing them, leaving them all at completely different lengths and shaped terribly. Half way through my first hand, he admitted he wasn't exactly confident in doing French tips. I left with crooked, smudged lines, paint on my skin around and under the nail. I'm shocked I was even made to pay for these. The money I wasted on this appointment could have been spent on gel nail polish and I could have done a better job at home on my own. As a loyal costumer, I am extremely dissatisfied with Ulta right now." The response was to leave my number and a manager would get back to me within the week. I left not one, not two, but three numbers I could be reached at, and no call ever came in to any of them. I gave them seven days, then called Ulta myself, was told the manager wasn't around and was hung up on before I could leave a number. Tried again the next day and was just left on hold for 15 minutes.The next day I went to the store and was told the manager wasn't there and when asked what days and what time they would be in the store was met with the deer in the headlights look and said that the employees and managers don't have set schedules, which I found incredibly hard to believe. You definitely get what you pay for here, so beware. I regret being cheap and disloyal to my regular nail place and going this route instead. Worst. Manicure. Ever! read more

I got my hair colored and cut here about a month and a half ago. For my hair to be colored and cut with highlights, it was almost 300$. I paid 300$ for my hair color to be taken back to brown as I colored it red at home and now had orange hair. I finished and within two weeks my hair looked exactly the same it did before I had it colored. I got in touch with the manager who was EXTREMELY rude and the lady that colored my hair toned my hair and it looked much better. She said it would last awhile and another few weeks later my hair is back to normal AGAIN! I do not recommend getting your hair colored here if you are looking for somebody to do it well, especially for a cheaper price. Definitely not worth almost 300$. read more

Let me set the scene:I have never been to an Ulta before. I was exhausted and just wanted to go home, but also knew that Ulta sold the brand of shampoo I had recently tried and liked. So I went in not with a bad attitude, but one of stress and extreme tiredness. Now I am a person, who does not enjoy beauty product shopping. After a few minutes there, with all the wonderful free testers, with no Macys type sales person, hovering over you as you test a product, I was left to myself, YAY, but I also noted that there were staff, who were not only informative, but more importantly trying to find the right product for you. A wonderful associate named Danii, became my guide not only in beauty products, but made a connection to me, which was just incredible. There was no sense of rush, urgency, and regardless of what you spent, Danii made not only me, but in my observations of her, did that for other customers. Ultra is now IMO, the Bentley of places to go for make up and service. Never again, will I have to scour the Dollar Store or job lot stores, hoping to find a piece of decent make up, but still at affordable prices. Their policies about returns are excellent, and those policies show a deep respect for their customers. The store was clean, well lit, well designed. I am only sorry I did not know about this little oasis in a sea of companies, whom one can see are only interested in you purchasing their product and not whether it is suitable or will meet the needs of what one wants. So Brave ULTA, and to whomever the manage is, Danii was a sheer delight. read more

Best Beauty shop on Cape Cod. Good prices & a Heavenly selection of Makeup...awesome ULTA Membership you get points when you buy stuff so you can rack up points to get more stuff...LOVE ULTA!!! Has a salon...I tried going there to have my hair bleached platinum blonde a few times but, the one Stylist I had was inconsistent & maybe inexperienced. I had to stop...last time my hair was so fried it felt like straw & 1/2 of my hair broke off. I understand that there was going to be some damage to my hair but, since I stopped am now going to a new Stylist at a different Salon...still bleaching it platinum blonde & is now in greatly much better condition. I say only go there to buy merchandise & maybe use the salon for haircuts. read more

Had a wedding to go to this weekend and made an appointment on a whim for hair and make up. I had never had my hair or make up done in store so I really wasn't sure what to expect... Linda was my stylist and I not only had the best time talking hair and make up with her but she did such an awesome job and made me feel amazing! I received compliments all night and really really loved her work. She is super talented and genuinely cares about your input which I loved. Although I don't live in the area you bet I'll be going back when I can! Can't recommend her enough! read more

Nice store, but you really have to pay attention at the cash register. I bought a flat iron today that rang up for over $15 more than the sticker price on the display. After I pointed it out they checked and then gave me the sticker price, but I was glad I was paying attention because it didn't seem like Ulta was! read more

I went into this Ulta twice this summer and both times each employee did not know where product was or if they carried it. First time, I was looking for round brushes for blow drying. Sales person showed me a section with few brushes. Second time, I was looking for a particular sunscreen that I knew they carried. Again sales person brought me to section, but didn't know if they had it. I found it! And at that time in the store I passed a whole section of hair brushes. Don't you think employees should know their products and where they are. No wonder Sephoras does so much better. read more

Ulta's two best kept secrets are hidden in the back of the store: the salons! Dermalogica® skin care, as well as hair cut and color. 90% of people I asked had no idea they offered salon services. I asked people who shop there as well as people who've never been. Why don't they promote these salons? I was in desperate need of winter hydration and skin relief but couldn't find a salon with an opening more than 4 days out. Plus most salons are super expensive and I might not love the products they use. Ulta Salon uses only Dermalogica products (!) and is open til 9p - PERFECT for after work appointments. I called in the afternoon and got booked for that same night. Prices are reasonable, and if you're in a rush or low on cash they offer Express 20 minute treatments for ** I think ** under 30 bucks (but I can't do the math bcuz i also found a 15% off coupon on their website for your first skin care visit and ended up paying like $25). They also offer a TEN minute express face treatment for about $10. Love Dermalogica products, the treatment room is comfy, clean, white - bordering on clinical - but I ain't mad at that. Only thing I didn't like was the canned new age massage music blasting thru the overhead speakers. read more

Solana did my balayage & cut on Saturday- last appointment of the day. She didn't make me feel rushed. She took the time to discuss the cut, what would be best for my hair health and went over my worries about losing to much length. She put me at ease, colored and cut my hair better than many in the past 18 years I've been getting my hair cut on cape. She enjoys what she does and it's obvious by the quality of work. This Ulta location is the worst of the worst. Had an appointment there to get my hair done for a wedding and walked into the salon and waited, and waited, several employees passing me in the mean time, and finally I approached one and was told 'Oh, your appointment was cancelled.' Excuse me? No. They told me they 'tried calling me to cancel my appointment', but I never once had a missed call. I then asked for the manager, and they walked out and told me 'I don't know what to tell you, we don't have a stylist here for you today.' I called customer service who helped me with my situation, and they told me they couldn't believe the service that I was given and they wanted to help me find a solution. But this wasn't given to me from the manager of the store. I finally got a call back from the salon manager (Tiffany) who was of no more help. She basically argued on the phone with me and finally at the end of the call asked me if there was anything they could do, a free cut or anything. Nope, sorry don't trust you to cut my hair anymore, especially after talking to a friend who said she's heard they like to cut people in the back of the neck when they don't like you. There is also another sales associate there that is awful at her job. She's very tall and usually works the register. My husband bought me a curling iron there one christmas and I tried it and it didn't work to my liking so I returned it. They have a rewards program there and she asked for my card. I specifically told her I wasn't the person who purchased it so I do not need to give you my card. She would not proceed with my transaction with out my card. I then look at my receipt and see that 105 points were taken away from me! I called customer service at this point as well and they were able to take care of it for me. These employees need training badly. ALL of them Are terrible and always look the other way when you need something. Do your self a favor and go to the Plymouth store. They are AMAZING. Walked in there the other day, I couldn't walk down a aisle without being asked how I was doing today or if I needed help. I love Ulta but this location and staff is the worst! The girls avoid you at all cost when you try to approach them for help and just stay behind the counter talking to each other or in a group by the front door. When you actually get one of them to ask a question, you will get nothing but attitude and a a lot of huff and puff that they have to help you! My favorite which I have gotten from them when asking if they something in stock and where to find it, I get a flat we don't have it with out looking or trying to help! Then I find it after searching the whole store. I avoid this store location at all cost and go off Cape if I really need something from Ulta or just order online! Worst staff ever! read more

Went to the store after learning online that a particular product was available in that particular store. I searched the store for a long while. To no avail I had to look for a salesclerk. That took awhile. Finally when I did track someone down and asked...her first response was... "We don't carry that item here its only online". I then said that I read online that it IS available in this store. She took me to where I had looked. Obviously it was not there. We settled that I would have to go online and order it. I kept repeating that it should be here...it was then that she walked over to another area in hopes that we would find OTHER similar items. As we stood there looking at the SIMILAR items....my eyes couldn't believe it! There it was...the item I had been asking for! So I yelled "There is it!" ...Her response...'Oh...I didn't know we had it!" My feeling is...we are all too busy to waste our time...when a customer is educated in the item....the salesclerk should NOT make her feel like she's an idiot! ....I think Utla NEEDS to educate their salesclerk on how to treat people with dignity. PERIOD! It wouldn't be a bad idea either to actually KNOW the items that ARE in the store! read more
