I've been to Chatham Bars Inn as part of a group, and the massage was ok, but the "bedside manner" made me feel like a number in a crowd. It was far more expensive and far less personalized. The tech removed my cuticles so forcefully I bled on both pinkies. When the red polish smeared onto the right hand middle finger (below the second knuckle) she used a nail file to remove the polish... She used a harsh nail file against my skin... I was speechless. I paid, tipped and left-- I know, I should've spoken up then and there about the situation, but it wasn't until I left that I realized just **how bad** it was. I called to explain my feelings and asked for a refund for the manicure portion of my session. I was not asking for a complete refund-- just wanted my money back for the manicure I paid for. I was told, flat out, that I would not be refunded due to "policy". When I explained I had polish around my fingers, I was told I could just use acetone to remove it myself. When I told her the tech caused bleeding on both hands, I was met with a defensive tone and blamed for why I bled-- stating I had very "difficult cuticles". Again, I asked for a refund and was denied. They stated they would just redo the nails entirely. I kindly explained I am looking to be refunded so I can go somewhere else. Still, I was refused my a refund. I understand that I have a different shape & shorter nails than the included inspo picture, but what I received is completely different-- patchy, bulbous, bubbly, inconsistent, polish on my skin, and some nails aren't fully covered. Not to mention I left with two bleeding pinkies... Between refusing to refund my money, the awful manicure, the unacceptable customer service the injuries to my fingers (and being blamed for it), and the unsanitary/unclean tools-- run from this place.
